On Hold #2

Thank You for Holding

Rate this book
Having it all is a fantasy, right?

Carrie Shelton thought her boyfriend was too good to be true. Her best friend's brother? A guy who loved antiquing? Who cuddled on the couch while watching foodie YouTube clips and talking about artisanal spices? Who helped her accessorize her outfits?

Right.

Fantasy.

So when he ran off with Kevin, the owner of an antique shop, right before his sister’s wedding, Carrie’s life went from fantasy to nightmare.

As maid of honor, she can’t back out of the wedding. And her ex is the best man - but now he has his own best man.

She needs a date. Stat.

Enter Ryan. Sure, he’s a hot male stripper at the O Spa where she works as junior designer, but he’s a few years younger and just, you know -- a friend.

Perfect. She needs a friend more than she needs a boyfriend.

A weekend of playing her boyfriend so she can save face is a lot to ask, but for some reason Carrie doesn't understand, Ryan's all in. Enthusiastic, even.

Especially when it comes to physical displays of affection.

Public kisses turn to private confessions, and pretty soon, Carrie can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

Because if Ryan's just pretending he's in love with her, then why does the chemistry between them -- and between the sheets -- feel so real?

Carrie can't settle for almost, though. She's already done that. She's not putting her life on hold anymore.

Turns out Ryan won't, either.

He's holding out for more.

Thank You For Holding is a STANDALONE in the On Hold series. You do not need to have read book 1 in the series, but after reading about Carrie and Ryan’s friends-to-lovers adventure, you’ll want to. ;)

Slick's review:

This is my first book by both of these authors, but it won’t be my last; I really enjoyed that this book had so many sides; it was fun, it was sexy, and it was emotional. The characters were engaging, the friends to lovers plot entertaining, and the ending was pretty fabulous, my biggest complaint is all the drama caused by failure to communicate.

Carrie and Ryan have been work best friends since they both started working at O, a unique women’s spa and boutique. Ryan has secretly wanted Carrie from the moment he met her, but she was dating someone else and so he’s held back and waited and when Carrie is dumped by her boyfriend who turns out to be gay (and I have to say that was easy to spot from the beginning), Ryan is there to help her pick up the pieces.

I love that Carrie and Ryan were such good friends and enjoy one another’s company and the more time they spend together the more Carrie realizes she would enjoy a relationship with him, but feels he is way out of her league. Ryan has had feelings for Carrie for a long time, but he doesn’t want to move on her too quickly and the geeky, gawky teenager of years ago still doesn’t believe he can get a girl as great as her. There was no denying their intense connection, but what flabbergasted me was that despite their friendship, they felt they couldn’t talk to one another about what they were feeling. I hated all the angst they created basically from lack of communication.

The secondary characters added a lot of fun, were a voice of reason on more than one occasion, and added a lot of flair.

I thoroughly enjoyed Thank You For Holding and I look forward to checking out more work from this writing duo.

I'm calling these two one of my favorite dynamic duos. Julia Kent and Elisa Reed knock it out of the park with this second installment in the On Hold series. We ask ourselves from the beginning how Carrie can be so darned smart on the one hand and so oblivious and obtuse on the other. But as we know, in reality and in fiction, everything happens for a reason. Ryan is hot, hot, hot but who knew that under all that hotness was an insecure man. He and Carrie are the best of friends...truly best friends. Can they ever be more? Do either of them want more? You are about to find out. Carrie is has a devastating breakup and Ryan jumps in to help her out. How far will he go to help her see that she is so much more than she believes she is and worth so much more than she thinks? I laughed so hard at some points and cried real tears at others. This book has it all, sensuality, silliness, and seriousness.

(I was provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review)

So let me be honest, I didn't really start to get into the book or enjoy it until about 40% in to it. I really liked Ryan (the male lead) from the start, but I had a difficult time connecting with Carrie (the female lead). Between her apparent obliviousness and lack of self esteem (which would be ok and understandable even if a basis for it had been explained), it was just hard for me to like her. However, once we get to the pivotal wedding weekend, the story really picked up and I started to like her more.

One of my pet peeves in romance novels (and yes, I know it's a popular and useful tool and plot point) is miscommunication/lack of communication. I HATE it when grown people don't talk to each other about their feelings or what's going on in their lives, especially when they are willing to talk to everybody else about what's going on. There were several occasions where both Ryan and Carrie received good, sound advice from the supporting characters and they either point blank dismissed it or ignored it. That was a little bit frustrating for me. But I digress.

In general, I really did end up enjoying the book. I'm glad that I pushed through to see how everything turned out. So many other characters were mentioned that I do want to go back and read Our Options Have Changed (On Hold #1) - maybe it will shed some light on the interactions in Thank You For Holding and I'll appreciate some of its nuances a little more. Overall, I give this 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Julia Kent....with that said...this duo has done it once again! I loved Carrie and Ryan's story! What do you say when your boyfriend of two years...the one you thought you would marry...tells you that he is gay...he is leaving with his new boyfriend and that he will always love you just not the way you want him to! As a result Carrie thinks she is broken and runs to Ryan to cry on his shoulder and prove to herself that she is not! Ryan loves her but she just doesn't see it because she just believes he is her friend...both need to open their eyes everyone else see it! Carrie has a problem she is in her best friends wedding as is her ex-boyfriend who is the brides brother! She doesn't want to go alone...hence the plan to go as "pretend couple"...Ryan is handsome, sexy and so very protective of Carrie...he sees her for who she truly is...beautiful, sexy and funny! If you have read any of Julia Kent's books you know that lots of things happen...funny things, sexy things and things that make you go awwww! I will not reveal any spoilers but will say that this book is a must read. I loved the first book in the series n"Our Options Have Changed" and could not wait for this book to come out! I want to say thank you Julia Kent for giving me the opportunity to read this book in advance of it's release. I can not wait for your next book with your partner in crime for this series Elisa Reed...you two are great together!

This was a very sweet love story with a little spice to it. I felt so bad for Carrie and Ryan. I knew that the story was going to be a good one. The road to getting there was great. The poor couple has no clue what is right in front of them. I loved seeing some of our friends from the other books. It was a nice surprise. Ryan's family is great. I hope Carrie and Jaymie really do continue their friendship. I think it was a good one. I know this had some sex in it but not as much as some books and it wasn't bondage type stuff. Perfect read.

The story was good and had a nice plot. I just couldn't bring myself to like the characters. Carrie was insecure, constantly saying she was a 4 while Ryan was a 10.5 so that they weren't compatible. She was a people-pleaser, weak-minded and impressionable. I didn't like her at all.

I a man a huge fan of Julia's books. I must admit that Ryan and Carrie are not my favorite characters. Ryan's cowardness and Carrie's people pleasing got to be a little irritating to me after a while. There were still some funny parts to it. The overall story is still fun to enjoy and I would still recommend the book.

Note, I did request and receive an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN!! This book is Thank You For Holding written by Julia Kent and Elisa Reed. Have you ever had the perfect boyfriend? What about the perfect male friend?? Carrie THINKS she has both...as I said, she thinks. I dare you to read this book and not wish there were an O Spa in your town. One you could visit for a massage, a party and have Ryan braid your hair. This book will surely warm you up if you are cold! Loved it!!! I loved Carrie and Ryan's story. Julia and Elisa have another hit on their hands. I think what really makes the story is not just the brilliant humor and great characters but how you could see how Ryan's childhood molded him into the smart, sweet and caring man he became. With all his beauty and smarts there was still that insecurity that made him special. Carrie and Ryan make a great book couple. I hope Zeke will be next

Ryan is very protective of his girl, "I grab Zeke’s shirt collar, in his face, whispering in a deadly rasp, “You don’t talk about her like that.” Ryan always wants the best for his woman, “normal isn’t good enough, kitten. You deserve far more than normal.” He rolls off me, resting by my side, every bit of his thigh, hip, and torso touching me. My side boob rests against his arm..." I liked this book, Ryan was so sweet, I loved him.

4+ “Nice guys make sure nice girls don’t finish last *wink*wink*” Stars

Thank You for Holding is a fantastic addition to this series, which I’m hoping will have many, many more installments.

Carrie has it all, the job, the friends, the boyfriend… even if she has a niggling at the back of her mind that something isn’t quite right, well… who needs sex anyway when you can cuddle and go antiquing with your guy? That is until her guy runs off with a guy. Cue in epic melt-down when you realize why you and your boyfriend shared skincare and hair products…

Gay! I wail. “Jaime is gay!”

The phone goes silent, followed by a masculine sound I can’t quite describe.

“I know,” Ryan says, nonplussed. “You didn’t know?”

“No, I didn’t know! What do you mean you knew?” I’m shrieking. I know I shouldn’t shriek at Ryan, but Jaime isn’t here and Ryan has a penis. I need to yell at a penis.

Now let me get this off my chest, I think this is the first time in a romance I’ve hated a gay character’s guts. Like, if I met him on the street I would bitch slap the crap out him, hate. That was the most asshole break up phone call in the history of mankind. I demand that the ending of this book is rewritten so that he gets dumped by the guy… it’s only fair.

Moving on! Carrie’s problem now is that she is the maid of honor to her newly former sister in law and best friend. And her now gay ex is in the wedding party too. She needs someone to help her save face stat.

Ryan is one of O Spa’s master masseurs, the electrical engineer-geek turned tattooed man-hunk is the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet. He’s been in love with Carrie for over a year and a half now, content in being her friend and spending whatever time they can together. With that asshat Jamie finally out of the picture he can make his move… only he friend-zoned himself so deep, he has no clue how to proceed.

Ryan sees his chance in the wedding and offers to be Carrie’s pretend boyfriend. Only, his plan is to show her how he really feels and how good they can be together with one weekend filled with PDA and sexy shenanigans.

I really liked Carrie, although she was a people pleaser and sometimes this meant people took advantage of her, she was so sweet, nice and caring that you couldn’t help but love her. She was seriously in denial regarding her feelings for Ryan, and I wish she’d been a little more confident in her own instincts.

“How does a man taste like all my dreams in one hot, warm, wet tease?”

Ryan was dreamy. While he was a couple of years younger than Carrie, this didn’t come through at all. What I mean is that it didn’t really bother me. He was charming, considerate, loving… a totally fantastic guy on top of being tattooed sex on a stick. Now, I can’t say I didn’t struggle with his lack of decisiveness when it came to his handling of Carrie… at some point, I was hoping he’d just take Zeke’s advice and throw her over his shoulder. Then again, he was such a sweet guy I couldn’t help myself but sigh after him.

Now I really need to compliment this duo on their writing, I seriously don’t like it when the main issue of a couple is lack of communication and misinformation. I mean, it drives me in-freaking-sane when this happens, but in this instance, I was so engaged with the story, the characters and everything going on, I just couldn’t put the book down and didn’t care a rat’s ass where their conflict stemmed from.

My only complaint regarding Thank You for Holding is that it doesn’t include an epilogue. I mean… (insert pouty three-year-old face with tear-brimming eyes here) I need to know what happens after, I need to see the wedding, or the house together…or the babies…. I NEED THE BABIES!!!! But even without this most vital part of the story, I enjoyed the crap out of reading it and hope for many, many more books to come.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Both authors and new to me, and this book although not part of Ms. Kent’s ‘shopping’ billionaire’ series, definitely has references to those books, not enough to detract from this one, just a little sprinkle to encourage the reader to go buy them lol.
That being said, Thank You for Holding. What a cracker of a story it was. Not quite boy meets girl, love and lose, rather he meets her the day they both start working for the same company. That’s what happened to Ryan. Only before he had the chance to ask Carrie out on a date, Carrie new best friend Jenny’s brother asks her out.
Fast forward 2 years.
Ryan still wants Carrie, but she’s still with the other guy. Other guy, Jamey, has a secret. A huge secret, which only Carrie and his family are unaware of. Everyone else could see it. Hell, the reader can see it before poor Carrie.
But, when Jamey is finally made to see the light, he dumps Carrie and leaves her in the lurch. Carrie is in dire straits. She has Jenny’s wedding to attend and doesn’t want to look like a loser going alone. Enter Ryan to the rescue, he offers to act as her boyfriend to save her feelings. But Ryan isn’t pretending, this is his golden opportunity to show Carrie how he really feels.
I really felt the connection between Ryan and Carrie, their chemistry was fantastic are burned the pages. Ryan is part geek, part alpha and all male. He’s strong, sweet but with a healthy dose of insecurity too.
There are several memorable moments throughout the book that shook his vulnerability, but the best was definitely the battery pack fire and donuts. How the authors came up with that scenario I’ll never know. LOL
This is a really great, laugh out loud, cry and tear your hair out book. The secondary characters were well fleshed, I’m thinking Zeke with be getting a story at some point. All in all I recommend this as a fun read.

Thank You for Holding by Julia Kent and Elisa Reed. This is the second book of the new series called the “On Hold series”, it can be read as a Standalone for sure. This was the story of Carrie Shelton who is the Asst. Director of Design for “O” Spa and Ryan whom is one of the male strippers/dancer of the spa. Ryan and Carrie started working at the Spa within days of each other and became fast friends. Carrie has been in a long-term relationship with Jamey, who seems too good to be true. The two of them are getting ready to go away for Jamey’s sister’s wedding which they are both in. Out of the blue Jamey breaks up with Carrie and tells her that he is Gay. Carrie is a mess and doesn’t want to go to the wedding herself. Ryan being such a great best friend agrees to go to the wedding as Carrie’s boyfriend. This book did not have any violence in it and there was a good amount of sexual content. This book was very well written and was a very quick and easy read. I found myself laughing out loud many times. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend this book to all who love Romantic Comedies!

Favorite Quote:

“ ‘There. See? I am not a broken vagina.’ And she bursts into tears. I don’t know what the hell a broken vagina is, but I have a very unbroken cock tenting my pants right now.”

“‘What does radioactive mean?’ I quiz him. He shrugs. ‘I think it’s when you fart and get superpowers.’”

“’Mommy!’ he says as Darien continues the chant, ‘what happened to the caterpillar?’ ‘Caterpillar?’ ‘The one who lives on your legs. The one that’s so hairy all over from your knee to your toes.’”

Received an ARC for an honest review.

Thank You for Holding is a fantastic continuation of the On Hold series by Julia Kent and Elisa Reed.

I absolutely loved this book. Carrie and Ryan's story is brilliant. It all begins with Carrie and her boyfriend, seemingly happy. Until he runs off with a guy called Kevin... Leaving Carrie humiliated and in need of a date for her best friends wedding.

Hello Ryan! Carrie's best friend, who has secretly been in love with her since he met her. He suggests "pretending" to be her date for the wedding... Will he get the girl?

I loved how the authors built Ryan's character throughout the story, and how he surpises the reader with his tenderness, passion and intelligence.

Can Carrie deny her feelings for Ryan forever? I really enjoyed how the authors portrayed Carrie and her confusion after her relationship of 2 years goes kaput.

This story has everything from hilarious, laugh-out-loud scenes, to emotional and intense situations. I really enjoyed how the main characters from On Hold #1 (Our Options Have Changed) and the Shopping For A Billionaire series are interwoven within the story. It was lovely to read about Chloe and Nick, and Amanda (SFAB).

I cannot wait for the next in the series!

4 stars; similar to the previous book in the series, this had a lot of potential and I liked it a lot, but it definitely fell into the 4 stars rather than 5 stars bucket for me. Carrie was pretty great, despite her lapses into low self-esteem; Ryan, I liked a lot when we were in his head, but I felt like sometimes his outer actions didn't match who he was inside (yes, part of the plot was him pretending - or, really, pretending to pretend - to be attracted to and involved with Carrie). I admit, I was also kind of annoyed that the authors decided to take the 'our characters ignore each other for a while in mutual failure to communicate and then coincidentally it all works out when they get their heads out of their asses' route to a resolution. It also kind of annoyed me that Ryan's mom was all weepy and guilt-trippy about Ryan coming back home - that's not really a fair way to be with your grown children.

But really, even though I mostly called out the things I didn't love, I did enjoy reading this overall.

Carrie has the perfect boyfriend, he likes to antique with her, he's so sensitive, he's more fashionable than her and he loves to come to her work and see men in g-strings. Anyone else's gaydar blaring??? Yeah, you almost feel so sorry for Carrie when he runs away with a man. Except for the fact the signs are there and she is just blissfully ignorant. But now she needs a date to her ex's sister's wedding. Enter Ryan, her good buddy from O who has the biggest crush on her but again, she's blissfully ignorant again.

Ryan has waited for his chance to be with Carrie since they first met 2 years ago. They are perfect together if only she didn't have that "boyfriend" who he knows is gay. Well now is her boyfriend is gone and Ryan is more than willing to step in and act as her boyfriend/date to the wedding.

You will go from shaking your head, to laughing and to almost crying wanting Carrie & Ryan to have their HEA.

I can't wait for the next in the On Hold series - I hope it's Zeke.

Julia Kent and Elisa Reed are a powerful writing duo, which know how to write a captivating story. I loved Our options have changed and have desperately been waiting for the next book written by these two amazing authors. I was not disappointed when I was introduced to the story of Carrie and Ryan. I once again laughed, smiled and yelled at the kindle while reading this story and enjoyed the characters in the story once again.

Carrie was unlucky in love and got into situations that made me laugh so much. She was an incredible sweet character that didn’t know how great she really was. Se might not of been aware of Ryan’s feelings for her but she was a smart character that had a lot of unfortunate bad luck in her life with guys.

Ryan is the perfect book boyfriend that had me swooning so many times. He was incredibly sweet with the way that he treated Carrie, especially when her boyfriend dumped her. There were so many funny moments that Ryan was apart of that had me n tears from laughing so much. I absolutely adored Ryan so much.

Thank you for Holding on is about Carrie who has the perfect boyfriend until he leaves her for another man right before is sisters wedding, where Carrie is maid of honour. Not to be humiliated by the events that occurred, Carrie enlists Ryans help in pretending to be her boyfriend for the wedding.

Something you can expect from a Julia Kent and Elisa Reed story is many humorous and hot moments. I laughed so many times throughout this story and loved it so much. I adored all the characters within the story and definitely recommend this story to everyone.

*ARC received from the author in exchange for an honest review*. Julia and Elisa have done it again. This is Carrie and Ryan's story and follows the friends to lover format. I have to admit that I didn't care as much for Ryan and Carrie's story as I did Nick/Chloe's story. Ryan was a little too timid and Carrie worried too much about pleasing people. So Carrie works at "O" on the management side and Ryan is a master masseur. They have been friends since they both started working for O on the same day. Carrie is dating Kevin who is the perfect boyfriend. Ah just a little too perfect since he dumps her for Kevin and finally comes out of the closet. Loss of Carrie's self esteem and a blow to her pride has Carrie agreeing to a fake boyfriend relationship with her good friend Ryan to attend the wedding from hell and face her former boyfriend with his new boyfriend. As typical with any Julia Kent laughs so hard that I snort are found inside this book so fair warning no reading in public unless you want to embarrass yourself. It's a great read, a solid romance, and a HEA so what's not to love?

I was very happy to see this waiting for me to be read! I fell in love with Our Options Have Changed and couldn't wait for this book. This is the story of Carrie and Ryan who both work at O Spa....Ryan is a hunky masseuse at the spa and Carrie works along side Chloe from OOHC. I loved how sweet Ryan was and you just got a hint of his former self peeking out once in awhile. My heart broke for Carrie after the way Jamey treated her....what a piece of work. There was quite a bit of humor that you would expect from a Julia Kent book but there was also a few sniffles for me, so my favorite kind of book. I loved seeing Nick and Chloe interwoven in the story. There is an age difference in Carrie and Ryan and to tell the truth I never really noticed it until the near end....very well done. Can't wait for the next one!

Carrie has a pretty perfect life: a job at O Spa she truly enjoys, a boyfriend who's into cuddling and antiquing, and acapella, and a great best friend/work husband, Ryan, who loves to binge watch reality TV and eat pizza with her. It's so perfect, until it's not. The perfect boyfriend cold-heartedly breaks up with her on the phone weeks before his sister's wedding to run off with the man of his dreams. He's the best man and she's the maid of honor. Her friend Ryan comes to her rescue and offers to be her "boyfriend" for the wedding weekend so that she can save her pride and hopefully take away some of the awkward. Ryan is so good at faking it that she begins to wonder if it's for real. It feels real, really sexy and hot, but it can't be, right? Or can it? This is a wonderful friends to lovers story, with funny and well written characters that you love and want to find happiness. Such good feels from this! Best Friends Forever

Ryan is a master masseuse, with all the male beauty that means, for the O Salon in Boston. Carrie is a program designer in management at the same salon. They have been best friends for the two years they've worked together. But Carrie has a boyfriend, so Ryan's unrequited love has been simmering. When Carrie's boyfriend, Jamey, dumps her for all the wrong reasons, Ryan steps up. He "pretends" to be her boyfriend at the wedding where she's maid of honor and her ex is best man. He hopes to make his real feelings known. Miscommunication, interruptions and hilarity ensue, complete with cameos by Declan & Shannon McCormick at the wedding resort venue. But the true heart of the story is the inner dialogue of our two protagonists. Both wrestle with insecurities of their youth and families, those that haunt most of us into adulthood. Those insecurities amplify the ruse and increase the uncertainty of the budding relationship. Humorous situations create an enjoyable atmosphere throughout this book. Caring friends and family attuned to the situation created by our heroes help clarify a resolution that might otherwise be lost. Above all, this is a humorous, sexy and revelatory best friends to lovers story. Loved Ryan, a not so perfect but tender hunk, and Carrie, an imperfect but caring woman and their truly affecting story.

Good Read

This was a good book with a very familiar theme: boy and girl are good friends, girl needs fake boyfriend for wedding, boy and girl have passionate night, boy and girl have lots of misunderstandings, but boy and girl eventually fall in love. I really liked the beginning and the end of this book. The middle was a little slow and I ended up skipping parts.

Ryan and Carrie are a great couple and Ryan is the boyfriend I wish my daughters had: sweet, kind, considerate with all that wrapped up in a hottie body. Carrie is smart and hilarious but has low self esteem and thinks Ryan can't possibly be really into her bc she's 7 years older and he is a hunk.

I found the middle of the book frustrating bc it just took them forever to get together and then when they did, there were still looks of mishaps due to poor communication. You can only have so many misunderstandings and missed cues before it becomes monotonous. I am glad I finished the book because when they FINALLY get together it is so sweet and romantic!

Wildly Childish

While the friends turned lover storyline has been done so many times, the stories themselves can still be pleasurable to read now and then. This story is told in first person narrative from both perspectives. Unfortunately, this was not one of the good ones. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was a YA, which I don't care for at all. I need maturity in my characters. The h reads like she's in high school or just out, perhaps 19 years old. The H is much more mature, but still reads like a 22-23 year old. It was painful to read, especially from the h's perspective. Imagine my surprise when it's revealed that she's supposed to be in her 30s! The lack of communication/miscommunication was way overdone here, and overwriting made parts unbearably boring and tedious to read. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. Overall a disappointment.

Thank You for Holding is book two in the On Hold series but can definitely be read as a standalone. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I definitely would!!

Carrie's life seems pretty perfect. She has a great job, a fantastic boyfriend, and awesome friends. Until her boyfriend breaks up with her over the phone and tells her that he's gay. Carrie is blindsided. Even if the blurb didn't tell you that Jamey leaves Carrie for another man, the clues were there before he came out but Carrie missed all of them. It seems that everyone except Carrie and Jamey's family were aware. After that bombshell, Carrie has to serve as maid of honor at her best friend's, his sister, wedding where Jamey will be the best man, with his new boyfriend as his date. Carrie is lucky to have Ryan, her best friend and coworker at O Spa, to rescue her from this disaster. Ryan has been waiting for his chance with Carrie since they met. He's been her friend for two years and he's ready to take it to the next level and is willing to have a fake relationship for a weekend to prove it. If only they can move from fake to real without ruining their friendship.

I loved everything about this story. Carrie and Ryan have amazing chemistry and really are absolutely perfect for each other. Friends to lovers and fake relationships are some of my favorite stories and the combination of the two in this book was outstanding!! This book was hilarious, hot, and sweet. I never wanted the book to end and I am looking forward to the next one!

Such a great romance story. These two authors never fail when they write together.

This book as lovely to read, it flowed so well with a great mix of laughter, angst and just for giggles some loving. You feel every emotion in this book which to me is what it should be.

Poor Carrie, the guy who is supposed to be her boyfriend announces he is Gay and humiliating her at the same time. The worst of it, the ex-boyfriend is not even out of her life as he is supposed to be a best man at a wedding where she is Maid of Honour, awkward!!!

So what can Carrie do to avoid the humiliation at the wedding, she asks one of her Co-workers at the spa where she works to go with her. Ryan is the drop dead gorgeous masseuse and just what Carried needs to have fun.

The characters developed well and you could tell it was the right way to go just by reading the pages.

I felt sorry for Carrie when the Gay bomb dropped but in the end she was better off away from her ex and developing something with Ryan.

I would highly recommend this book.

Brilliant follow up to Our Options Have Changed where we first met Carrie and Ryan. Now it's time for their story and what a story it is.

Ryan has always loved Carrie, Carrie has always had feelings for Ryan, neither has the guts to tell the other for fear of rejection and spoiling what they already have. It takes Carrie's boyfriend coming out, a weekend wedding, and the help of close friends to make them realise what is right in front of them.

Poor Carrie always wants to see the best in people, even missing the fact that her boyfriend is more effeminate than she is and constantly checking out the 'costumes'at O when he visits her. Ryan is the misunderstood hero of the hour. Not the playboy he is made out to be because, quiet frankly, he is too in love with Carrie.

Their journey is one of hurt, laughter, embarrassment and joy, but ultimately love and I felt each and every one of these as I read this book. I also never realised that donuts could be so... versatile!

Painful

So this story concerns a professional massuer \stripper who was an electrical engineer and is a straight guy whose hobbies are lifting weights and working out. Clearly these " authors" and I use this term lightly have never met an actual engineer or any male with an I Q over 50. He is desperately in love with a heroine who is such a clueless moron that she has had not one but two gay boyfriends. The stupidity and inanity of this premise a d theses characters is beyond par. Not only should you not waste a brain cell reading this I feel it is a sworn duty to discourage such horrid writing from being considered.

Really enjoyed this friends to lovers!

This story had all the feels I love to get when reading romance. Chemistry, insecurity, friendship and let’s not forget finding that the man you’ve been spending the past two years with has a secret.

Ryan...you can’t help but love the guy and wanting to kick him in the backside to give him the push he needs. But when Carrie needs a date to take to her friends wedding, he steps up to the plate and runs the bases so to speak. While it was all supposed to be pretend for both of them, it becomes more.

Carrie & Ryan are meant to be together. Hope you enjoy the donut scene as much as I did!
