[Lumberland]

Judgement of Corruption was a pretty middle of the road Evillious Chronicles novel. It was a definite improvement over the last few novels, whose increasingly fractured POVs began to detract from the story. I appreciated that this was a return to the more straightforward storytelling of the first two novels in the series. I thought Judgment of Corruption still managed to have reveals that surprised the audience and introduced new information (such as learning more about Ma, her goals, her relationship with Gallerian, Bruno, and the identity of the Miniature Garden Girl,) and here Mothy's subversions worked well. This novel worked really well thematically, as the audience was able to question his motives, his mental clarity, and if he even accepted bribes in the first place. Also giving more backstory and showing him to be very much abused and manipulated by Ma, which he does not even believe or acknowledge himself, was pretty interesting. I also appreciated that there were no huge crazy plot concepts or gaping story holes in this novel. All in all, pretty average, but more enjoyable than The Gift From the Princess who Brought Sleep, Fifth Pierrot, and The Tailor of Enbizaka.
