A very pleasent surprise.
I took the book from KU, but don´t know why I thougth maybe it wasn´t for me; maybe a book for a newbies into this topic. I was wrong.
Immediatly the reading catched my atention, by the deepness de los temas and the riythmn how each topic links to next.
In my mind, I saw author smiling in many of the sentences and, eager to finish, I read the book in a couple of days (actually at my printer shift job) The advices are simple to apply, with common sense and really useful; and the final study cases were inspiring and funny.
A good book for those who asking themself if there is some chance to be free and work with passion and enthusiasm.

Instill your own curiosity and learn to live again.

Creating Space To Thrive is a short book to read, but is full of interesting ideas. Most people as they mature forget what you is. They are to busy making a living, they forget how to live. Live is much more than dollars in the bank, your curiosity and wonder can open up new vistas for even the most staid among us. Embrace your curiosity and your creativity will gladly follow along. Once you begin living each day with this new way of seeing your world begins to be more colorful and much more alive.

Really just needed a calm co-regulating tone. Average information but would recommend the audio book to feel better some days.

Is this book ground-breaking? No. But it provides some no-BS advice about how to find that "space" within our messy, negative, crowded selves in order to really devote the energy and time to pursing a creative life. Kenney achieves something refreshing and important: She illustrates many of her points with examples from her own journey of transitioning from a dreary corporate job to a life of creativity that are totally relatable and real and personal without getting bogged down in that trap of over self-indulgence. I have enjoyed every book of Kenney's that I have read so far and wholeheartedly recommend this one to anybody struggling to make that creative leap.

this quick little self help read focuses on maintaining a growth mindset, prioritizing what you are passionate about, and making the time to focus on the things that matter. Letting go of mindsets and habits that keep you in the grind and keep you from living and enjoying.

I recommend this book to anyone slogging away at their 9-5 dreaming of a better life!! There is more out there and Courtney Kenney shows you exactly how to go about taking the steps to make your creative dreams a reality. Very well written and thoroughly researched. My favourite part is the totally do-able things you can do now to start making your dreams come true. One that I'm planning to adopt is taking 20 minutes each week to reflect on what went well and where I can improve. The motivating and inspiring case studies included in the book show that living life the way you want is totally achievable.

This is a short book but it packs a massive punch. Many personal growth areas are touched on such as meditation, exercise, decluttering, building better habits and finding your why so that you can get in touch and act on your creativity. The author's positivity is jumping off the page and it is short and easy to read. I was not a big fan of the case studies at the end but they may help other readers. Overall, a must read (and you can always skip the case studies), especially if you believe you are not creative or have no time to be creative.

Creating the Space to Thrive had a few stellar tips to get unstuck and change your life, but I read them in other books already. The Q & A section at the end of the book was the best part, I wish it would have been the majority of the book.
I was surprised that 2 out of the 3 case studies mentioned quitting alcohol as a promoter of creativity. Very interesting.

This book wasn’t quite what I was looking for. I was trying to find a guide on being more creative, this is more of a learn how to make changes to your lifestyle and manage your time so you can create your dream kind of book.

It’s still very good. The author does an excellent job of laying out the path she’s taken and showing how the reader can do the same. There are plenty of helps along the way, great examples, and clear instructions that she comes back to again and again.

Additionally, there’s a few freebies thrown in that are very nice.

It was a good read. Everyone needs a book like this once in a while.

An enjoyable book. I found that I was doing many of the things she recommended. During COVID I reclaimed a 10x10 area in my garage to set up a shop. Since then I have made numerous gifts and practical projects with wood. I even got paid for a few things. Now I am in my 3rd month of playing guitar. I make time each day for meditation, reading, guitar, and woodworking. Like is good.

It's a very short book, almost a series of blog posts. The information is derivative of better work but the author has an authenticity to their enthusiasm. The tips and tricks here will work more to get you started but not sustain the work.

Not useful

I found this book very poorly written and just full of high level fluffy with nothing unique in its recommendations.
