ALERT: Dirty Talk, Secret Pleasure by Opal Carew is HOT HOT HOT.
This book is super short and ends on a cliffhanger but I DON'T CARE. I loved this novella and can't wait for the next installment.
Sonny lives in fear of men. She has some type of trauma in her past--it hasn't been revealed yet what it is specifically, but it's not hard to guess what it might be. Sonny is self-employed and works from home, so she doesn't have much interaction with people other than her good friend, Leandra.
Leandra doesn't know the details about Sonny's past, so in an effort to be well-meaning, Leandra surprises Sonny with a blind date. The guy she's fixed her up with is a friend of a friend who ends up being a nice guy. By all accounts, Sonny probably should be interested...but her fear is overwhelming and the date ends up being a bust.
Meanwhile, Tal has just moved into town and into the apartment next door. Tal is an imposing, muscular, tattooed guy whose appearance usually scares women away. But underneath his rough exterior, he wants to find a woman who will accept him just as he is.
Sonny and Tal's first meeting is abrupt but there's definitely a spark between them. However, once again Sonny is too afraid and quickly runs away from their encounter.
Sonny has a dirty little secret that no one knows about...and it turns out that Tal has one, too.
Opal Carew has done something unique with the format: when you read the ebook, she has included a link to an audio clip that Sonny listens to in the story. This is pure audio porn, so don't say I didn't warn you. Also, you're welcome.
FYI: The story ended roughly around 70% for me and the rest of the book is excerpts from the author's other works. As I mentioned, this ends on a cliffhanger, which might drive you crazy, depending on the type of reader you are. Also, I just learned from the author's website that there will be four total titles in this series, each with a different accompanying audio clip. For me, I didn't mind the price I paid for the book, considering you get that companion audio to go with it. (Clip #1 is approximately fifteen minutes long.) Your preferences, of course, may vary.
I can't wait to read the next installment and the combination of ebook interwoven with audio totally works for this story. I'm looking forward to seeing Sonny and Tal develop more as characters, as well as seeing how their relationship unfolds.

OH MY LORD!! THIS BOOK IS SUPER HOT!!!! Dirty Talk, Secret Pleasure, is the first part in a four part serial about, Sonny, a young woman dealing with a traumatizing past and Tal, a tattooed God, who is dealing with his insecurities about how people perceive him due to his physical appearance. This was an incredibly read. I adored Tal's empathy to Sonny and Sonny's resolve to get over her past and want to move forward.
ADDED BONUS~~ This read has an added bonus!!! At the end is the most tantalizing audio of the hottest part of the book. It melted my panties and made me hungry for more!!

5 stars for the series as a whole.
Holy hell! I read the whole series in one sitting. Yes, there’s a very serious subject matter and if rape is a trigger do not read these! That being said, these were so well written, the dialogue is amazing and seriously the hottest thing I’ve ever read. Seriously, I have to go take a cold shower after that. Good lord.

This is a short episode that continues with 3 more parts. I'm not a fan of this style of putting a story out there because each ends in a cliffhanger and you pay a premium to continue on with each episode until you get the complete story. Beyond that, I do like the premise and the erotic writing is very well done.

I enjoyed this book but I wanted more. The description for Tal made me realise he is my dream guy. I found myself shouting at my kindle ‘’I will have you! I am not scared of you’’. I truly felt for Sonny. But I felt like I needed more information on her. She has a fear of men and had obviously been attacked but when and by whom?
I wanted to know more about Tal. I guess for a greedy reason. I needed more of him because I had a fictional crush on him! Some of the scenes in this book is panty melting hot!
This story ended so abruptly that I wasn’t sure if this was a series or not. After doing some online stalking, I am glad to say that there is going to be another book. I need to see Tal and Sonny get together. The storyline for this book is easy to follow but confusing in parts.

Alright now, where do I even begin?
It'll be very hard to do a review of this book considering the fact that it's a short piece and the subject matter. When I got the email that Opal Carew gave me an early copy (yesterday I opened my email account) I started to read it instantly!
The story follows Sonny who for some reason is so sensitive when it comes to men. She enjoys a blind date but doesn't accept him. Then we come to a man named Tal who moves in the same building where Sonny lives because he has an old friend there. Tal is scary looking to some. He has a sexy body but has piercings and tattoos everywhere. They bump into each other and that when the story starts to develop.
The first in a series (which is telling especially because of how this one is developed and ends), I enjoyed it a lot. I began to read it while I was at a coffee shop with my friend who is also an erotic reader. I kept telling her how mad I was with the main character Sonny.She was so rude how she turned down a sweet guy on a blind date. But o quickly liked her when I kept reading.
Tal, on the other hand, is like the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. He wants a real relationship and is sad because women are afraid of him. When the two meet they have a vibe and they have desires for each other.Now like always Carew uses the third person and for this story, it was the right choice. I felt like it was an erotic retelling of Beauty and the Beast in a contemporary way.
There isn't much to say for this book but I can tell you that there was one long, long masturbation scene. I had to go to the bathroom three times when I read that scene. I imagined the words from the narrator of PLAYED BY THE MASTER (check it out) and the actions that Sonny did me shiver. To all the ladies out there, I highly recommend this book just for that scene.Well written, and it'll remind you that you don't need a man to get your juices on.
