I really love it!
It was exciting, amusing, emotional, simply a real page turner. Now I just have to read the next book, because I want to know more about this interesting world and its authentic characters.

Thank you, Miss Shreffler, for this wonderful story!

I'm not sure how to describe this book. It was everything I was expecting and so much more. It picked up right where the second book left off so there was no confusion as to what was going on, and it jumped straight into the action.

Its told from a couple different point of views, but once again mainly from Sora's. I liked this but at the same time I wanted to hurry up and get back to Sora to see what was going on with her, but if it was from Crash's point of view I wanted to read slower to hear more of his inner thoughts. It was a weird feeling for me.

You get a lot more of Crash's background this time around, which was great. I have a feeling he still has things hiding up his sleeves but I got enough this time around that instead of being frustrated by that thought I'm excited to learn more about him when the time comes again. He is the one character that I'm literally dieing to know everything about, his background is just that good.

I find myself liking Sora more and more with each book. I remember thinking she wasn't anything special in the first one, but by this one I'm fully behind her and love her. She is flawed in all the right ways, she isn't whiny about how things are going for her. She excepts them even if she doesn't like it. Though she has her moments when she doubts herself, or acts like how a person her age would about certain things *cough* Crash *cough*. She has really grown a lot from the first book to here. She is constantly surprising me with the way she reacts and handles things. I really like that the main character isn't getting boring for me, if anything she gets more and more exciting.

This time around Burn kinda takes a backseat on things, though he is still around he isn't in anyway the main focus of things. I couldn't be disappointed by this because he just didn't fit into all the things that were going on and I did get enough Burn time to keep me happy.

There are a few new characters introduced in this one, though they seem to hold a bigger part to play than Liana did the last book. Though she did have her part to play this time around, I still felt like she was just there making comments and getting on every one's nerves.

The romance side of things starts to really develop in this book as well. Sometimes I just want to smack Sora and Crash's heads together and tell them to get on with things, but at the same time I love the way their relationship is moving. Not to fast and not to slow either. It feels real, they seem to get closer and closer through everything they are going through.

The plot was good, we finally get to meet the Harpies and I have to say they weren't what I was expecting them to be, but at the same time they were perfect. I could picture them being the way they are. We are also introduced to a new race as well, but I'll leave that for yourself to read about. A lot of what happened is what you would expect from this book, and if you read the first two books you really had a heads up to what was going to happen. But even knowing a lot of what was to come didn't stop me from reading so fast that I skipped paragraphs and would have to stop myself take a breath and try and force myself to slow down (which really didn't work out for me). To me it is a sign of an amazing book when I do this to myself, I ending up reading so fast because I'm excited about what's going on and want to hurry up and know what is going to happen next.

Everything flowed really well and with the way the different point of views all come together was amazing. I love when point of views meet up at some point and when this is done well I want to high five the author. A lot of different plot points got tied up nice and neat in this book, but new ones opened up at the same time.

Would I recommend this book? Heck yeah I would. I really love the Cat's Eye Chronicle's the only complaint that I have is that I have to wait for the next book to come out.

**I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.**

LOL

I had recently finished Viper's Creed and that left on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I couldn't wait to dive into book 3 because I always enjoy the adventures Sora and Crash have together (and no, I didn't forget about Burn, I just prefer Sora and Crash..hehe!) This book continues from where the second book left off, where Crash, Sora, and Burn are sailing towards the Lost Isles to defeat Volcrian. Where to start? Well, this book was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed every page, every chapter, every word, well you get the idea. The first two books, I didn’t exactly feel that wow factor, it could have been due to the romance build up because I like my books to have romance. This third book was just perfect. There was the romance, the action, the drama, the journey aspect, and much more you could hope for in a book! In the beginning of the book, in the prologue, you learn a bit more about Crash’s past and that’s what I enjoyed about this book, you learn more about his past and what Crash really is (and he is no ordinary human, I tell you!). I really enjoyed the part of the book where Crash tells Sora everything about who he was and what he is. No more secrets..for now. Like I said, this book has a journey aspect to it and I always enjoy going along for the journey because there are always obstacles in the way and you’re always wondering what’s going to happen next and whether they are successful in this journey or not. The romance…one word: FINALLY! I really enjoy Crash and Sora’s relationship, they bring out the best in each other and they always look out for each other. You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for them to finally kiss and I can happily say that it was well worth the wait! I do think of it this way though, with all of the build up and the little moments they share, it leads to something amazing when it finally happens! I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book with them! Their romance gave me many feels, and there were moments they shared when it seemed like something was going to happen but nothing did and it was one of those moments where I wanted to throw my ereader across the room, but I can't cause that thing is expensive and no way am I buying another one, nor do I have the money to. So yes, many feels. Look out for that and beware of throwing your book or ereader across the room. The ending..it was beautiful! All I will say is that it gave me feels, feels are always good! No cliffhanger, so yay! I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

THE CHARACTERS:
Sora- Sora is one of the few female leads I actually like. If you've been reading this book from the beginning then you know how much Sora has changed from being that spoiled rich royalty girl to a girl who's just trying to survive this incredibly long journey with her friends, and don't forget the part where she can kick some ass (not as well as Crash, but still..don't mess with Sora!) I loved seeing the progression of Sora throughout the books, it's made her into a stronger woman. I also loved seeing her thoughts when it comes to Crash, she really cares about him and that's when her feelings for him start to blossom because he does get into a lot of danger and she's always saving him as he is saving her.

Crash- Oh, what to say about this lovely gentleman? I love Crash, I can't get enough of him. In the beginning, he was this mysterious assassin that was sent out on a mission to kill the king and eventually ends up kidnapping Sora and that's one of the reasons why I love this book, I just loved seeing the bond that Crash and Sora share, they bring out the best in each other. Although Crash is very stubborn, that much hasn't changed, but if you've read this from the beginning, you can tell Crash has changed a little bit because of Sora. He's always wanting to protect her and save her whenever she's in danger. I loved seeing into his head when his POV was written because it gave me all these feels. You see how much he cares about Sora and no woman has ever made him feel this way probably like ever because Crash isn't the type to get involved with women.

You get to see more of Lorianne, Sora's mother, as she is on her own mission to get the book that tells them how to get the weapons back to the Underworld and she travels with Ferran and all I will say is I see something that can happen between them, so I demand some shipping in the next book between these two! Lori is a strong woman, I can see where Sora gets her headstrong-ness from. Ferran appears in book 2 and he is this treasure hunter, or former treasure hunter, and Lori goes to him for help and well the rest is history. Even though Lori sometimes act like Ferran annoys her in a way, he starts to grow on her the longer they travel together. I find it funny how even though Lori has known him for many years, she doesn't know much about him, I think it's because they haven't seen each other in years and they went their separate ways.
And Volcrian makes a return in this book, hence the title of the name. I have to say, I felt a little teeny tiny bit of sympathy for him because he wasn't planning on the darkness taking him over so much that he gets consumed by it. He is still a villain, don't get me wrong, but I do feel a little bad for him. For like a second, then it's gone because he's evil. Very evil.
There's Burn of course, and Laina. Laina..I'm not sure what to say about her, but I don't like her. I thought she was adorable at first, following Sora around like a lost puppy and I could see that Laina liked Sora in a friendly manner, but something does happen in this book and it's made me not like Laina anymore.
You also get to meet the race of the Harpys and there are also the Dracians. You learn a lot more about the races in this book and that's another thing I loved about it, it was very interesting learning about all the different races.

OVERALL: I give this book 5 stars! Ever since book 1, I knew I was going to be sucked in for the ride. This book had it all, the action, the journey, awesome characters, romance, plot twists, mystery, secrets revealed, and just about everything you could ask for in a book! I am definitely excited to see what happens in book 4! I recommend this series if you love fantasy and journeys in books like I do!

Note: This review may be less professional and longer than most because fangirling is likely to occur. You were warned.

This is by far one of my All Time Favorite series. Volcrian’s Hunt picks up a few days after Viper’s Creed left off, with Sora and Co. on board a ship destined for the Harpy islands. It doesn’t take long for the adventure/trouble to start and once it does, there’s never a dull moment! I find myself becoming more and more engrossed in this series, this world, and these characters with each new installment. This is by far one of the better books I have read and Ferran’s Map cannot arrive soon enough for me!

The plot:

This book caps off the word count at over 100k, but it felt much, much shorter. I became so caught up in the story that before I knew it I had reached the end and was yearning for more. The plot is well structured with no loopholes and a cocktail of suspense, action, and magic with a shot of romance. We learn more about the Harpies as well as their archenemies, the Unnamed or the Sixth Race, Crash’s race.

The characters:

I understand that the bad@$$ heroine has come into vogue and while I can be fond of the Xenas and Celaenas, I find a character like Sora, with a certain vulnerability and innocence, to be refreshing. Sora isn’t a fool or completely helpless, but she’s not a smoldering virago either. She does what she does for the sake of doing the right thing and while she has her fears and doubts, it’s her courage that pulls through in the end.

Crash has grown a lot since the first book, but the author still does a good job of reminding us who he is and where he comes from. That doesn’t change the fact that he is my favorite character and I have shipped him with Sora since the scene they met. He’s become very protective of her, but not in a possessive way (possessiveness is overrated in my opinion). I thought I couldn’t adore him any more, then came this one part where :SPOILER: he could have seduced Sora :END SPOILER: and you could tell he wanted to, but didn’t because he respected her and wanted what was best for her. My thoughts at that point were simple— AWESOME!!! If I didn’t already love him to bits, I certainly would now.

On a side note, Crash’s shirts seem have a rather short life expectancy in this book. I didn’t think the poor articles of benign clothing deserved their untimely demises, but if dear T.L. Shreffler disagrees…oh, well.

There was a female character called Krait introduced toward the end of Viper’s Creed of the same race as Crash. I’m not sure why, but I think I like her. She has that certain creepy zealot appeal and I’m looking forward to reading more about her. We also meet Caprion, a Harpy general who becomes fast adversaries with Crash. Caprion came across as a bit lofty and self righteous to me, but I’m kind of wondering if my opinion will change when I read Caprion’s Wings, the prequel novella set to come out in January. Apparently, Caprion and Krait have something in common according to the author’s website and I’m twisting my mind into knots trying to figure it out. I have my suspicions, but…

I thought Volcrian had lost it in the second book, but it was nothing compared to this one. He’s become a psychotic sociopath, hardly able to tell his own thoughts and desires from those of the Dark God who, unbeknownst to him, is using the mage to gain a foothold in the world of the living.

Though the bloodmage is a more than adequate villain, we also see a brief glimpse of Cerastes, Crash’s former mentor, who is bent on reviving the Dark God and ending all life. Though we meet him in only two scenes through the eyes of Krait, it is more than enough to tell he is going to be an unprecedented antihero for Ferran’s Map.

I think I’ve rambled on long enough, so I will sum up by saying this is a YA Epic Fantasy series worthy of obsession and definitely one to watch.

I have read so many book series that after the first two the third falls flat ....Not this book series! It's just as good as the first two. I love the main characters Sora is perfectly flawed and Crash is even more so but that's what makes them perfect for each other. What happens at the end broke my heart. Can't wait for the next book.

I am so in love with this series and the delicate way to relationships, esspecially Sora and Crash's, naturally develop throughout the entire series. Not only is there consistant unfolding adventure, but also in the people and how they interact with and feel about eachother. When Im reading This series the world around me fades away and I am absorbed completely in Sora's reality. Its fantastic!

This book in one sentence: Sora and her friends must head to the lost isles, a mystical place inhabited by the mysterious harpies, in order to kill Volcrian and end the evil plague.
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Steaminess: 🌶️
Would I recommend: Yes. This series is really good. The author is managing to keep the story engaging and continuing to develop the characters as well as the universe, while still remaining consistent in style throughout the books.
Tropes: the slowest slow-burn romance of all time, only our hero has the power to save the world, super evil diety
Content warnings: violence, torture, ritualistic murder, attempted rape

I really like this leg of the journey and we get introduced to two new races-Draconian and Harpys!

the good:
we get a little more connection between Crash and Sora - and we got to see another side of Crash, and get some backstory on the 6th race

the bad:

MY GOODNESS THIS BOOK WAS FREAKINTASTIC!!!!!!!! I LOVED IT I LOVED IT. THE FEELS. THE ACTION. THE WORLD-BUILDING. THE ROMANCE. AAAH!! ❤❤

Actual Review:

Oh. My. Goddess. This series just keeps getting better and better! I’m amazed at how awesome and intriguing and magical these books are. I LOVE the world-building, the characters, the never-ending action, the plot twists, the slow-burn romance, just EVERYTHING. Seriously, bless the day I met the amazing person that introduced me to this series (you know who you are!) because I’m so HOOKED.

Volcrian’s Hunt is the third book in the incredible Cat’s Eye Chronicles and the stakes are higher than ever. Sora, Crash, Burn and fellow allies are getting closer to the Lost Islands where they will possibly be able to finish off Volcrian – who’s getting deadlier by the day – once and for all. Unfortunately, the islands have plans of their own, and they cause the vessel they are traveling in to shipwreck, getting themselves stranded on an unknown island. Meanwhile, Sora’s mother is searching everywhere for a book that might help destroy the Dark God’s weapons and lock him out of Earth once again and stop the plague that’s killing everything in its wake. This is another fast-paced adventure of epic proportions that will leave you breathless and wanting for more!

I’m just a fangirling mess right now. I loved, loved, LOVED everything about this book and I’m just too excited about what I just read. I’ve already stated in my past reviews of the first two books (Sora’s Quest and Viper’s Creed) one of my favorite things (maybe my favorite thing) is the slow-burn romance. I had never read a book with such an intense and absolutely fantastic slow-burn romance like the one in the Cat’s Eye Chronicles. I’m the type of reader who loves her characters getting together in the first book, but this book challenged my preferences and showed me that it’s possible to love something as infuriatingly slow as Crash’s and Sora’s relationship. It’s WORTH the wait. Gosh, it’s so damn worth it. Prepare yourselves, readers, in this book your feels will BURN to the core!

Another great thing I enjoyed from this third installment was getting to know the characters on a deeper level. We learn so much, especially about Crash, and even get to meet a new race – the Harpies. Once again, the author astounds with her flawless imagination. Her ability to create and describe magical creatures and make you connect with them is pretty impressive. And to think there’s a lot more left to discover about them!

You will not get bored in this book (nor with the first two books in the series). Volcrian’s Hunt has more than the right amount of action and amazing storyline to keep you entertained from the moment you start reading the first page. I’m so glad the fourth book is available for me to enjoy because I cannot wait to read about what happens next! If there’s a book series that I would recommend in a heartbeat because of it’s epicness, it would be the Cat’s Eye Chronicles.

*Sputters* That ending...this story has reduced me to a pile of goo.

Rating 4.5!

This keeps getting better and better

It lost .5 stars simply because it felt like there was one too many point of views

However, this is still probably one of the best stories i've ever read.

I AM SO INVESTED IN THIS.

Crash and Sora have one of those impossible romances, but i want them to be together SO much! Ahhh!
I love these characters.

btw- my gut feeling was so right, i knew there was something weird about Laina...now let's see what Caprion's deal really is...

I need Ferran's map as soon as possible!

You Know those books that you get a character hangover for, you feel like your life is miserable until you get to the next bit of their adventure? This is one of those stories!

These books are getting steadily better.

I loved the romance development in this one (Crash and Sora finally come to terms with their budding relationship) and the other romantic entanglements that seem to be forming.

The first half of this book felt a bit ... slow I guess since it takes FOREVER and a day for them to get to where they are headed, but then the second half sped by like lightning.

I do wish we could've revelled in the conclusion of the original mission a little longer but NOOOOOO - we are thrust head first into a new swarm of enemies and a new agenda.

I loved the introduction of new characters and the way that the personalities combined in this book - but I almost wanted Sora and tristan to get entangled and make Crash all jelly.

seriously. boy could use a good jealousy bout.

Book type: YA Fantasy
Book rating: 4.5/5
Read time: 3 hours

Yo, QUEEN is back, and this time she has nothing to say.
Yeah, that does sound a bit boring, huh? But that's just it: I have nothing to say because the book was so good, as good as the previous one, and the one before that. So I will give a few words: Shipwreck. Island. Secret Caves. Harpies. Danger. And for all you fans.... Romance. Woooohhh! I'm not that big on romance, in fact, I've become sick of it, but even I must say this was good. So stop reading these pointless reviews that only confirm what you're thinking about the book (which is awesomeness) and try it out yourself. Go on. Stop reading. Do it. Get off now. Stop reading this. I'm telling you, get off now and don't even finish this review. Do it. Now. Go on. Shoo. Get outta here. I'm not saying it again. Go.

Shoo.

omygosh, you're still reading this? Sheesh, what does it take to get you off of these? You must really be bored to still be reading this....

Ah, there we go. I was worried about reading this one and being disappointed after the 2nd book, but it picked back up and Sora is back in good graces, things are moving ahead as I had hoped to see in book 2. Now it's our Dark One who is fumbling, not knowing what to do and still trying to protect Sora, even from being cast out it would seem.

It was great learning more about Crash (finally!) and it had plenty of new (interesting) characters and plenty of dialog from some of our other character's perspectives so we could see the story line from multiple view-points. One of their hurdles are now over and now they can focus and hopefully take things a little easier.

Thoughts and spoilers :-

1. Volcrian became such a textbook villain with absolutely no depth what so ever. It's like the character was set up to be more complex only to fall flat and died pathetically in the end.

2. The character if Laina should not have existed, she contributed absolutely nothing to plot except to be that whiny little bitch baby. She's a thief? Really, she screched a lot, from what i read she's about as subtle as a rhino.

3. Caprion interests me... But then i feel like he would just be a character of convenience, the type that's there to advance the plot. I hope that's not true.

4. Crash (still hate the name) is... Well, I don't have any complain about him. He knows how to get things done.

5. Protect Burn always.

6. Lori and Ferran. I ship it. Silas and Tristan, could be important, i certainly hope they will be in the later books.

7. Krait. Don't know much about to comment though she is a titular character in Book 5.

8. Sora.... Sora... Sora... Girl, you need to chill. You need to listen when other people tell you not to do something. You need to learn how to walk without falling and being such a damsel. I don't dislike characters who are weak, so long as they have one redeeming quality. I have noticed she isn't particularly smart, she ain't the one making all the plans only heeding what others have told her.

Also the fact that she didn't die was stupid, i knew she wouldn't because she's the MC but at least have some repercussions. She was an invalid for a day and then was fine... Wow...

I sound like I didn't enjoy the book but the series has kept me going for three books now and I'm still invested. Will Crash and Sora ever be a favourite of mine? never but sometimes when a story is quick and easy and entertaining the characters might not matter so much... That's a lie, if Sora continues to be a dame in the later books I'm docking a star.

You know what the two characters remind me of? Piper and Ash from the Steel & Stone series by Annette Marie... Except Ash is a bean... Piper...eh..

First thoughts: Such a fun series!

Review: This series is becoming one of my favorites. I would give it a 4.5 stars. It is so wonderful! Done fangirling! I will attempt a spoiler-free review.

We start the third book right where we left off. Sora and the crew are on a ship, on their way to the Lost Isles. We get multiple POVs in this series, as we have different story lines that will converge at some point, and I'm loving all the connections.

In this book, we get to see a more mature and more self-sufficient Sora. That is not to say that Crash or Burn don't do their fair-share of last minute heroics. But overall, Sora's confidence and attitudes are way better. I love her internal dialogue, it often mirrors what I want to say to her. This self-awareness is very refreshing.

We also get to know more about Crash and his past. He opens up more and think he has more lines than in the previous books combined. He is awesome, just when you think you can't love him more, he does something great. We also get to him more vulnerable and younger than in previous books.

We also get to meet new characters, more dracians and finally the harpies. Caprion is an interesting character and I still don't trust him. More to come and he has his own novella. I guess I get to check it out later.

One of my favorite things about this series is the fact that we have adults, in their mid-thirties, helping in the quest. Lori and Ferran are fantastic. I do wish that we are not reminded of their age every time we get to see their POV - but that's a minor gripe.

The romance in this one is intense and I am not very hopeful for their future. And, on to everyone least favorite character, Laina. Goodness, what a waste. I am guessing she has a role in future books, but who knows.

Overall, lots of excitement. Pirates, mages, assassins, dracians, and harpies and a stubborn human. I love it!

Oh my, it was a painfully long read.

Countless descriptions of places that I just skipped whenever I could, and constant changes of POV like in one chapter you follow Sora and Crash then the next one you're with Lori, then Volcrian, then Krait, then back to Sora, … It was very annoying because even if it is somewhat useful to follow each of them, I only care about Sora and Crash. All the others are just secondary characters and I don't need to know their thoughts and struggles because, like I wrote, I don't care. Oh and I was right about Laina, she is a complete b*tch. I enjoyed myself a lot with what happened to her here, but it's still not enough. I just want her to die in a very painful way. She might be 13 but she acts like she is 5. I don't usually hate characters but she is insufferable.

Now, I have to admit it: I need a break from the series. What kept me hooked for so long was the relationship between Sora and Crash. But after reading the last pages of Volcrian's Hunt it has taken a direction I don't like at all and it sucks. From a wonderful slow burn romance full of promises, it became a cliché in those lines: “I'm a bad person, you can't be with me, plus no one will accept our relationship so let's just stop right now before anything happens." Oh dude, please...

I'm not that much interested in their fight against the Dark God because this is the type of series where the heroes always win -despite some insignificant losses along the way. I'm not a fan of the characters either, except for Crash and maybe Burn too, despite him being a total "background character". So the only thing I'm interested in is the romance. Since it's been dragging on for too long and it's not gonna be official until the end, I'm clearly not as excited as I was when reading the first book. I will finish the series in the future, when the last book will be published, but definitely not right now.

Sora, Crash, Burn and Laina are traveling to the Lost Isles with their group of Dracian friends. They know they won't be able to outrun Volcrian forever and the plague he caused is spreading...so their plan is to find the sacred ground on the Isles and use the cat's eye to destroy him. Meanwhile on the mainland, Lori, Sora's mother, and her old friend Ferran are looking for a book that will help destroy the dark god's weapons. Also looking for the book is Crash's old group of assassins.

In this book there are a lot of ups and downs. Our main group grows closer, especially Crash and Sora, though they both fight it. I love how their relationship has developed, the epitome of a slow burning romance. We learn some secrets about Crash, the Viper, and though it was a little expected it was still shocking when revealed. Burn also broke out as a character in this one, he can be cold and diligent but he feels many things and those were exposed in this book, which was very endearing. Laina was still very annoying and I'm not sure how to feel about her role in things. Overall this is a great series with an intricate story, great characters and plenty of action. Excited to read on!

What I love in these series, it's like nothing I've ever read. It break the code of Fantasy. I read a lot of fantasy since it's my favorite genre and there are some really series in the YA genre but this one has a special place in my heart. Maybe because it' not really famous but if you like fantasy you should, you HAVE to read this series. I totally have a crush on the books, I even think I've never rated a eerie that high, so that's something.

Of course everything is not perfect but what book is ?

So first the thing I didn't like but it's only because of my tastes:
- the changing POV , I really hate when it's change POV. I can accept it when it's a character very close to the main heroine like if it's to show the way the other character see the main heroine, but usually even this I don't like it because I like to keep mystery in characters. In this book I loved when it was Crash's POV because he's so secret and cold we never know how he feels and sees the world and I like to see though his eyes especially because it's not too much but as soon as it leaves the main characters it bothers me because I thought it cut the action. I understand why the author choose to give us other's POV because the action isn't always with the heroine but I would much prefer not knowing certain things and learn them when the time's coming to know the truth along with the main characters.

Actually that's the only things that bothered me, I can't think of something else shah

Now what and Why I loved the book and the entire series:

-First the most obvious is the relationship between Crash and Sora . I think I've never read a slower building relationship in all my life. It's just perfect. In the first book, they hate each other even in the end, they never really talked or have a nice gesture (at least from him) until the very end of course where it end the most perfect and saddest way ever possible. Their relationship is so complicated, and seeing the way it's developing in each book is very amazing. You can feel the tension growing between them. Sora is very young and naive, usually I hate that in a character, but there it's ok because she's naive but very mature at the same time, she knows what she wants and is not denying her feelings even though if she doesn't understand them at first. Crash in the contrary is something like 7 years older than her, he's not naive at all, but still he's the one who deny it, he's even more awkward and embarrassed than her when it comes to feelings because in his life he didn't learn friendship or love and no one ever showed him this either. So it's really complicated for him as well.
Besides even if he wouldn't deny his feelings, there is still many exterior things keeping them apart (there is no love triangle for now, they don't need that, it's already very complicated).
But at the same time it's so frustrating it's not going faster ahah. Yes we're at the 4th book and I'm still waiting for them to happen even though there was more romance in this book than in the two first book and I thing their relationship can still become even stronger and more powerful than it's already.

-The romance is not overshadowing the plot that's very important to me. It was more in the first two books but the characters have a mission and they accomplish it. When we're in action there's no time for feelings, they have to stay alive and that's all. Crash is really into his mission and think of nothing else but his mission. In this book, this aspect is less present but it's important to see how Sora affects him in his decision, yes he worries about her but still he does his mission whereas in the first two book, sometimes he didn't even think about her.

-Crash is a REAL assassin As I said he's in his mission. He's not afraid to kill or harm if it's necessary, he's strong, almost unbeatable, serious and clever. He does what he needs to do and I can tell you he has done horrible thing. But still what it's really disturbing about him is he doesn't seem to feel guilty about it, he had a certain way to death, like it's a part of life and everyone has to die on day or another by his hand or from old is the same to him. When we are in his head he never think twice before killing someone and think about it afterward.

- The main character Sora: I liked her in the first book but she's growing on me even more. She's strong-willed, she had to face difficult time, especially in this book and I was really scared for her at a moment in the book. Contrary to Crash, she's more sensible about death, of course she wasn't raise to kill, so when she has to, she feels really guilty and disturbed about it. She became really badass and it was funny in this book and the second one to see Laina (I think it's her name) though her eyes and think about how she was at the beginning clueless and defensiveness and how Crash could see her in the first book. She began to take initiatives and I like that.

- The plot was interesting, there is always action and in this book we meet with the last race (they weren't what I expected them to be...).

-The world building:is fabulous, not the most unique but really interesting and not to complicated or boring to read (I love fantasy, but I don't like too much details about the world I'm in, it can become really quick confusing and too much describing)

I could keep going on and on about how this series is amazing but I think you understood the point. SO I just wrote this because I'm waiting for the 4th book that should already a-have been released and I needed to write my frustration.

Merged review:

Someone give me a punch in the face so I can sleep until the next book comes out because this one was fabulous, amazing, perfect and it can't end this way and I need the next one like right now.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)

So, to trap and kill the mad man on the trail, they need to go to these Lost Isles and use the Sacred Stones and the Cat's eye stone to kill the mad Mage. Simple, easy, peasie!!

Now, number one on the list, find a map to the Islands that have been lost for four hundred years. And so the tale began, how it finishes, well best read the author's own words, as they tell the tale far better than I ever could.

4.5 stars. i would’ve given it 5 stars if i hadn’t of gotten bored during the middle section of the book. i was so close to DNFing it and the only thing that made me carry on reading it was the fact that i was so invested in Crash and Sora.

HOWEVER... that. ending!!!

i am both over to mood and absolutely heart broken at the ending and i can not wait to continue with the next book, purely to see where the story goes and what happens with Crash and Sora.

3/5 overall
2/5 for plot (tbh I skipped over any and all POVs not about Sora or Crash)
3.5/5 for romance (FINALLY but DEFINITELY not enough)(and I hated how they parted at the end)(like PLEASE it’s been THREE WHOLE BOOKS already)
3.5/5 for strong female lead (definitely is able to hold her own more but still needs a ridiculous amount of saving)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Wow, just when I think the books can't get any better or I have a grasp on the story, another development. I love the way the author keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. The ending was wonderful though, and very unexpected. I like how she closes the books like a chapter, leaving you wanting for more, but giving you a nice ending to finish on. Already on book 4.
