Liam is about an impoverished family living in the late 19th century Ireland. The oldest child, Liam, age sixteen,commits a capital crime defending his family and flees to America landing in Boston where he eventually becomes a police officer. He finds corruption throughout the Department though he resists the temptation to become crooked himself. After a series of personal tragedies, he rises in rank in the Police Department and eventually takes on the biggest crime lord in South Boston. Liam is a fast paced, straightforward novel that takes the reader on an emotionally charged journey filled with unspeakable, violent acts that awaken primal fears in the reader. At the same time, its a story of struggle and personal bravery and unwavering perseverance.
