I grew up in Santa Monica where landslides were part of the local scene. The author doesn't mention Sunken City in San Pedro probably one of the remaining slides that you can visit today. He also spends considerable time on Sea Otters but (I may have missed it) does not mention toxoplasmosis which is caused by stray or feral cats.
