Thoroughly enjoyed. Each prayer would come from me at some point in my life. I didn't want the prayers to end. Rereading, voluntarily would be a grave error on my part given all the unread materials I have.

I'm placing this in my bag, so I can reread when I have unexpected time to fill. I love that the corresponding scriptures are opposite each prayer.

I don't pray enough. Not nearly enough, yet with Julie Ackerman Link's 100 Prayers Inspired by the Psalms, I find myself connecting to these prayers and talking to God more. Not grand and glorious prayers, but simple ones, like "God help that Grandmother in Lebanon to recover from her injuries after the bomb blast." Or "Thank you Father God for my beautiful cat who enriches my life." These prayers are ones she wrote for the congregation of her church before she died. The book came out of an idea she presented to her pastor. It is simply wonderful, and Julie Ackerman Link has been a favorite author of mine for many years. I start each day reading from Our Daily Bread, then read and meditate on the prayers in this book and Julie Ackerman Link's Hope for All Seasons. If you are having trouble praying, try reading this author's book of prayers. Her writing will inspire you, and you may find you like her style of writing, too.

I used this book as a daily journal and it was so beautiful. I wrote each Bible verse down that was highlighted in bold reading. It was and is my first start on scripture writing. One of my best nonfictions I have read.

A friend gave me this book for Christmas and I have enjoyed reading it. Some of the psalms I was very familar with others, not so much. Her prayers were inspirational.
