What if you discovered—not as a concept, but rather as a profound inner knowing born from the crucible of your own experience—that the essence of your very nature is, has always been, and always will be, the presence of love? That awareness would change everything. Your consciousness would be transformed, and you would move forward into a Soul-Centered life—your unique and beautiful life of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment.
The book you hold in your hands is a vehicle for fostering just such an epiphany through the use of the empowering tools of Spiritual Psychology in your everyday life. As co-directors of the University of Santa Monica, the Worldwide Center for the Study and Practice of Spiritual Psychology, Drs. Ron and Mary Hulnick have had many years of experience in applying these principles and practices in their own lives as well as supporting thousands of students in doing the same. Their intention is nothing less than providing you with inspiration, practical tools, encouragement, and opportunities for learning how to live into the Spiritual Context—the awareness that you are a Soul and that your life serves spiritual purpose.
As you read and engage with this book, you’ll learn practical ways for waking up more fully into the awareness of the loving being that you are. You will be remembering the Light within—remembering your essential nature. Can you imagine walking through this world in a consciousness that is Awake to Love? Wouldn’t that be amazing Grace? Opportunities for just such experiences are available to you, and this book will be your guide through this process.
"We are not human beings with a Soul; we are Souls using a human experience for the purpose of remembering our Essential Nature is Loving." This quote from the introduction sums up the foundation of the 'Spiritual Psychology' at the core of Remembering the Light Within.
An enlightening book, this would suit readers who enjoy the works of Gabrielle Bernstein, Alan Cohen, Marianne Williamson and the foundational teachings of A Course in Miracles upon which their work is based. Like The Course, this is a heart-centred psycho-spiritual text, with practical exercises to use in your day to day life.
Unlike the Course, this is written in modern and easy-to-follow language, and includes lots of relatable examples. There are 33 Principles of Spiritual Psychology and if you're familiar with ACIM, then you will immediately see the similarities.
If you haven't read or heard of any of those, but you feel there is more to reality than the five senses and wonder what your purpose is, how you can have more meaning in your life, and other such questions, then this book will help you answer all of that!
The format is very reader-friendly, with each chapter incorporating various elements: paradigm-shifting information, stories / quotes / inspiration, practices you can apply in order to integrate the teachings, an intention /affirmation, and journaling exercises. Consequently, this is not a book to be read from cover to cover, but one to work through over time, and to use on an ongoing basis as a guide for life!
After starting to work through the ebook copy I was sent via NetGalley, I ordered the paperback from Amazon as soon as I could. That probably says everything you need to know.
This is a book everyone will resonate with on some level. It opens your heart to who YOU are and HOW you are on this earth. Then, it goes even further. You get to expand on the who and how in ways you won’t see coming. Once you read it, do it. Don’t just read it and put it away – taking the time to read it will help you a lot – doing what is offered, and you need not do everything – be picky, do whatever floats your boat today. But don’t put this book away – keep it out and CHOOSE to practice what works for you. In so doing, you will be choosing to transform your life and isn’t that the reason you’re checking it out in the first place. There’s no magic bullet but the contents in this book is easy to understand, simple to do and as you see the progress, and you will quickly, you will want to do more. With each choice, and practice of that choice, you will see, feel and become the you you’re searching for – you’re already there, you just need the nudge to let it blossom. THIS IS IT!
I noticed immediately how well the book was structured but also noticed the repetitiveness of certain points that the authors were trying to ensure that the readers grasped and their importance. At first I was a bit confused and after finishing the book I came to the conclusion that if it works, so be it. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to everyone considering moving from religion to spiritually awakened, which of course you can be both...
This is a great book to read if you are going through a spiritual awakening or an awareness of your being. I definitely need to do a second read. There is so much to absorb. I started doing the exercises in the beginning with my journal but the curiosity to compkete the book got the better if me. Will have to go back and complete the exercises. Will recommend to my friends and family.
This book started out promising, but didn't really offer anything new or different. In fairness, I have read a lot of books on spirituality so it may be a good book for people who haven't read much on this topic.
There are many things which resonated with me. This book talks about the power of clear intentions and how our thoughts, feelings and words are important in our day-to-day life. The book also describes about of listening to our higher self, changing our perception, being compassionate, self-forgiveness, and honouring our spiritual contracts before we are born on earth. Excellent book to read.
I've been a big admirer of Mary and Ron after reading their previous work so I was so excited to read Remembering the Light Within. Although, I think the language in some chapters become a bit too much spiritual (if you know what I mean), I very much enjoyed reading it and it really lifted my mood.
