All hell has broken loose, and the McPhearson clan is right in the middle of the chaos. After finding out their beloved foster mother, Claudette McPhearson, was anything but the sweet old woman they thought her to be, Javon, Shanelle, and the rest of their siblings hit the ground running in order to keep the Syndicate operating and to keep themselves alive. That also means they have to lose some of the people they love the most. With the legacy of their mother and her plans for them in motion, the McPhearson children are operating on a broken foundation. Attacked on all fronts, Javon and Shanelle are struggling to keep the family normal, while following the criminal plans of their dead mother. The Syndicate is growing, and Javon is determined to bring in new blood while looking for those who killed Claudette. Not to mention, something odd is going on with all of his siblings that threatens to rock the family to the core. Will the McPhearson clan fall in order for the Syndicate to rise, or will the truth end the legacy before it can even begin?
Great ending to a great series. All the questions you had unanswered in part 1, was answered in this finale. There were so many twist and turns I didn't want to put down the book. I wasn't sure about Uncle Snap but he won me over in the end. Javon went through so much but held his own. Only thing I would've wanted to know more about was Dani. Other than that Bravo Brick & Storm.
This was soooooo good. It left off right where part one ended. This family was something not to mess with. I really love the twist and turns in this book. I loved how they put family first. This book could really teach them the meaning of family first. Great book I truly enjoyed this book.
Even better than part 1 I hope part 3 is just as great! I knew they were trying to deceive us at the end of part but definitely loved how it unraveled!

I enjoyed this series Javon and Shanelle were my favorite in this story. Uncle Snap no joke he was really a good Mentor for the family. Melissa became greedy and shameful she barked up the wrong tree. Inez and Cory got caught up but they played the part in the end. The rest will be on. They better keep an eye on Dani because I think she's slick. Nice Read.
Javon is nothing but the truth. He took what Mama Claudette left, ran with it, and then some. I loved the fact that Javon did not want that life style, that he felt betrayed, and even let down by how mama Claudette lived. Was she a hypocrite, i kept asking myself as I read part two. For mama Claudette to expect her children to do; much less agree to how she lived when they themselves were not raised that way by her? I thought that was messed up on her part, she placed her kids in a do or die situation. They had to step up or fall victim. Mama Claudette was right; Javon is a natural leader, smart and can think quick, on his feet. Inez, Cory, Shanella, and the rest of the kids are soldiers and have different roles to play in the organization. I was disappointed when Inez and Cory got on drugs. They redeemed themselves in my eyes when they survived, that attack and came back stronger, and protected the family. Mama Claudette had a network that no one knew about. In a way that was a good thing. When things went bad, only the trusted and informed could be relied on to help and aid her children. From the not so nosy neighbor to uncle Snap, Mama Claudette had protection in-place for her children. Its a shame that one of those children turned out to be her killer, greed is a Big B.... and she got exactly what she deserved. I was glad that Cory laid her out. Is there a part three? I'm curious to see how the baby changes things and how or where Javon will lead his siblings to next.
Wow this was even better than the first book. The family McPherson has become stronger within the chaos of deceit and betrayal. This book has so many surprises. The traitor responsible for Mama's murder is revealed to the shock and disappointment of everyone. How do you hate a person who you loved and trusted all your life when they take away all that you loved and trusted? Another surprise are the ghosts from the past who revisit the lives they left behind.
Jovan and Shanelle's love for each other started when they were teenagers and continued into adulthood. Their relationship endured cheating , an abortion and a miscarriage to become a trusting, loving partnership that will continue to endure the test of time as they struggle for control in The Syndicate. Shanelle is the only one who can keep Jovan grounded when he's feeling antsy and irrational. Jovan is the only one who knows how to love Shanelle. They are in the battle for their lives and the lives of their family as they confront The Syndicate to fight for their rightful places in the organization. They can only trust each other for strength and understanding.
I feel like the story is a wrap with all the questions answered. The traitor is revealed so we know who killed Mama. The bad guys are dead thanks to the strippers and the ghosts. The McPherson's position in The Syndicate is secured. What's left to the story? I'm not sure if I will be reading the next book.
I was right to NOT TRUST MELISSA!GLAD THAT SHE HAD GOTTEN WHAT SHE DESERVED! I KNEW INEZ & CORY COULDN'T HAVE GONE OUT LIKE THAT. GLAD THEY SURVIVED, BUT WISHED THEY WOULDN'T HAVE RESUMED THEIR RELATIONSHIP THOUGH. JAVON WALKED INTO A TRAP, BUT IT WASN'T WHAT READERS WERE LED TO BELIEVE THAT IT HAD BEEN THOUGH. LOOKS LIKE JOJO GOT AN OLD A** GF IN DANI WHO HAD GIVEN HIM A RESPONSIBILITY THAT HE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PREPARED FOR. MANY OF THEM BLAMED THEMSELVES FOR THEIR MAMA CLAUDETTE'S DEATH, BUT ONLY ONE OF THEM WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MURDER OF CLAUDETTE. THE JAIL SCENE... WAS CAPTURED IN A WAY THAT SEEMED VIVIDLY BRUTAL TO SAY THE LEAST (I LISTEND VIA AUDIBLE). ON A NARRATION NOTE I FELT THAT DIANE LUKE IS LOUD AF! SHE NEED TO TONE IT DOWN SOME NOT JUST IN THIS SERIES, BUT IN OTHER BOOK SERIES SHE NARRATES FOR AS WELL! I DON'T CARE FOR DYLAN FORD OR B. LIPTON BENNET'S NARRATIONS EITHER.
Awesome Read!!! Couldn't put it down better than the first one. Javone and Shanelle did the damn thing protecting the family and their loyalty can't be explained. Melissa got what she deserved for what she did to the family especially what she did to Claudette. Old lady Lillie I knew it was something about her and my prediction was right about Inez and Cory. They need to watch Dani don't trust her. I can go on and on about this book it was so good. One thing about Claudette she was a great leader and mother with so many secrets.
Reviewed By: Lee Things get really crazy as the siblings come together and start finding out that momma was no saint & nothing in their lives was happening by mistake or just by chance. They have lost siblings and gained allies but Javon is trying his best to hold the family together... But someone is working against them & it seems like someone close. Brick & Storm have weaved so many twists, turns & surprises into these stories. You will not be disappointed!!
This book lived up to all the potential I had hoped it would from reading book 1. Family drama, deceit, secrets, mayhem, all things that I find enjoyable about a good read can be found amongst the pages of The Syndicate 2. I am growing to love the McPherson family and the loyalty that they show to each other. There is a spoiler about that last sentence that you have to read the book to find out. All in all I am anxious to get to reading book 3!
Enjoyed it entirely. Loved resurgence I Corey and Inez. The neighbor, Mrs. Lily was a hoot. You just have to love all of the brothers and sisters. Uncle loved Mama completely and was dedicated to the children. I don't understand what's going on with Dani but clearly understand Jai. His doesn't want any part of Jovan's girl anger. Happy that Melissa and Elias got what was coming to the.. This book was well written with few errors.
This book was awesome from beginning to the end. The characters and the story line picked right back up from book one and answered some questions that I had when i finished book one.
This book really took me on emotional roller coaster and it had me staying up way after my bedtime trying to figure things.
The characters and the storyline pulls you all the way in and does not let you go until the end.
This book is so good from the beginning to the end, it hurt my heart to find out who killed mama because after all she did to give that child better life. It broke my heart when I found out why that child did it. Greed is will always get the ones that think they clever, but findout they are the biggest dumb. I'm so happy that Javon and Shanelle has stayed true to each other all the way until the end. I was so happy when I found out who the ghosts really was that was watching over them.
I'm hooked on this series. I like every single one of these narrators. Book 3 doesn't come out until October. I hope the audio version will be out then too. I'm glad the traitor got what they deserved. I don't want J to be afraid of Shanelle. Is Danielle true or is she up to something? I feel the most sorry for Uncle Snap. They did very well making me feel his pain.
Was not ready for the twist in book two, a quick and easy read. Question from book one answered, book two leaving it own questions. Several shock factors, My favorite characters are Uncle Snap and Jennell. October hurry up book three has to be intriguing.
Wow this book was crazy good. I didn’t know how it was going to end but I’m good with it. Ms. Lily was underestimated in the book. Keep in mind the statements that are said because they come back later & reveal a secret which is what I love most about this trilogy, you never know what to expect which kept me on the edge of each page.
Part 2 was as good as Part 1. Everything picked up where Part 1 left off. This series could very well be made into a movie. When you step inside the lives of this family you are headed for a ride.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Javon is a tough cookie. In fact, all the children are a force to be reckoned with but, Javon & Shanelle are like Bonnie & Clyde. I hate Melissa did what she did. Karma came knocking by her brother. Excellent read. Can't wait for the third book.
I knew they would be the ghost in cloaks ....i felt me Lily was a piece to their puzzle. Something about that Luci Lucky part of the syndicate that still has me in thought. Exciting series this is
This was a good read. Brick and Storm never seem to disappoint with their storytelling. With a snake in the family and so much going on, Javon is forced to step it up some more. The Syndicate is all depending on him plus his family.
The Syndicate is a novel dealing with loss, love, power, and family. It's a fast past, gritty read. It's full of drama, deception, betrayal, and revenge. The twist and turns have you continually turning the pages. The McPhearson's just don't quit!! On to part III.
This author grabs you and just never let's up. There are so many twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured he throws you a curve ball. Excellent storyteller, he is definitely on our favourites list now.
This book was so good that I finished in two days. If I didn't have to work would have finished it sooner. Every page has you wondering what's going to happen next. Can't wait to read pt 3
Loving the fact Inez and Cory isn’t dead. Uncle Snap is taking the death of Mama very hard and he needs to grieve not feeling JoJo girlfriend something just because is right!Melissa got just what she deserved lil trifling slut
Excellent sequel to Syndicate 1. Know this is fiction, but we know whay drugs can do. This is really read for the younger generation, even though I'm not. Couldn't put down.
