O’Connor Family Series: 1. Merry Christmas, Baby 2. Tease Me, Baby 3. It’s Me Again, Baby 4. Mistletoe Me, Baby
Katie Reus® is the USA Today bestselling author of the Endgame trilogy, the MacArthur Family series and the Deadly Ops series. She fell in love with romance at a young age thanks to books she pilfered from her mom's stash. Years later she loves reading romance almost as much as she loves writing it. However, she didn't always know she wanted to be a writer. After changing majors many times, she finally graduated with a degree in psychology. Not long after that she discovered a new love. Writing. She now spends her days writing paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense.
Katie Reus has nailed it with this series of short and sexy reads based around the O’Connor siblings. It’s Me Again, Baby, gives the reader Maguire’s story, and who doesn’t love a second chance reconnection.
This was a quick and easy romance, with a side of suspense thrown in for good measure. Samantha has returned to Holly, North Carolina after years away to be closer to her mother.
Three years ago hadn’t been the right time for them. Now certainly was.
Little does she know that the week she spend in Maguire’s arms all those years ago, meant as much to him as it did to her, crossed wires stopped the developing relationship in its tracks back then, but upon meeting the Realtor again when looking at properties, Maguire realizes the depth of his feelings, and is not letting her walk away so easily this time.
She was always the woman he didn’t want to lose…
As I said there was a little suspense in this tale, it fleshed out the story between them and kept me on my toes, but I don’t 100% think it was really necessary, but it gave Maguire the chance to flex his Alpha-Instincts so it wasn’t totally wasted.
No one was getting past him.
As always Katie offers up a really likeable couple, great secondary characters, and an easy to read story-line. Here’s hoping we get to return to Holly again in the future, I have really come to enjoy my time with in this town and getting to know it’s residents.

Second chance romance can be hit or miss for me. This book hit it out of the part in my opinion. Why you ask? That is one of the most important factors for me in a second chance story. Secondly, there was not other women/men causing drama. I LOVE when the actual drama is from outside sources and makes the couple stronger. That was the case with this book.
-no cheating -no ow/om drama whatsoever -no pushing away - they crossed paths again and the misunderstanding from 3 years prior was made known and it wasn't dwelled upon the entire book (how refreshing) I will say it was never mentioned why that woman did what she did. -epilogue that was 2 months out. So disappointing. I definitely need more than that. It kept this from being 5 stars for sure.
It’s Me Again, Baby is the third novella in the O’Connor family series. Another exciting, sweet and sexy read! I loved Maguire and Sam’s story just as much as the previous ones in this series but Maguire is definitely my favorite O’Connor so far! I thoroughly enjoyed this short but fun novella and can’t wait for the next story from Holly, NC where it’s Christmas all year long.
* I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I tend to rate novellas lower than a full length book unless it’s a truly great read. This one definitely falls into that category. It has an actual plot, secondary characters that fit with the storyline, an awesome hero and heroine and plenty of romance and steamy goodness. And for all those readers who hesitate to read a second chance at love story due to celibacy issues, have no fear here. It is all good.
I loved Maguire and Samantha. Their separation was a little aggravating but it is dealt with quickly and they move on toward getting to know each other again. As all of Katie Reus’ heroes, Maguire is a total obsessive, possessive alpha and Sam likes him for it. She does stand up to him though when the situation warrants it and they work through any issues they have in an adult manner.
This is a fast paced, quick read told in dual points of view and I absolutely must check out any other books in this series.
Well as you can tell, this one was just ok for me.
Mainly because of the heroine, i mean the woman didn't even know what a bondage wall was. 😒 she acted like a shy little virgin there.
The hero was ok but I guess I expected more chemistry between them or maybe my expectations were high because I very much enjoyed the previous book, Eh who knows.
And out of nowhere she has an stalker that she never mentioned at all, a stalker that followed her when she moved into the town? And all of the sudden she forgot that she had a stalker? *facepalm*
Both were celibate during the 3 years of separation.
I'm in love with this series. I adore over protective, possessive Alpha's who are not jerks and this author never fails me. Each book in the series are on the shorter side, but I never feel like it's not enough. Each book is set in the small town of Holly and since we see all the same characters, it's like an ongoing story and yet you can easily read each book as a standalone.
This one is a second chance romance. Not my favorite trope because I don't like it when couples walk away from each other, but turns out the split for these two was a huge misunderstanding. The author doesn't take long revealing said misunderstanding and has these two making up for lost time.
There were hints to the next couple in the book and I can't wait! ARC provided by Netgalley.
I just couldn’t leave well enough alone. This second chance story was sweet and, most importantly, safe, which is a fluffy, rainbow unicorn in the realm of second chance stories. The H wasn’t a manho and the reconciliation didn’t drag on forever. However, there wasn’t much character or plot development, and there was way too much sex for me to really enjoy this one. Should I finally learn my lesson and stop a series while I’m ahead or should just stick to it until the very end?
Loved this one. I love how the miscommunication was fixed at the beginning of the story. Great read.3 year separation. The only om drama was the stalker, didn't last long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwtgD...
Katie Reus is one of my favorite authors and I have really enjoyed this series of novellas set in North Carolina. It's Me Again, Baby is a second chance love story starring Maguire O'Connor and Samantha. The book starts after Samantha has returned to town after years away. Her and Maguire had a week long fling, then Samantha left and never returned his calls.
You learn the reason for her departure and subsequent miscommunication in the very first couple of pages so the set up of the story felt a little rushed to me. However, the perk to this was that the rest of the story focuses on Maguire and Sam finding their way back to each other. You also get all the quirkiness that comes with the O'Connor family. They are nosy and brash which adds a lot of humor!
Overall, this is a short read with interesting characters and swoony romance. If you are looking for something sweet and quick, It's Me Again, Baby is a perfect pick to fill an afternoon!
POV: 3rd Tears: no Trope: second chance; small town; miscommunication Triggers: none Series/Standalone: stand alone Cliffhanger: HEA:

It's Me Again, Baby by Katie Reus was a sweet, heartwarming second chance love story and I loved it.
Author Katie Reus was a wonderful way with her words, I love how she brings to life her characters and surroundings. I'm a big fan of her writing and It's Me Again, Baby is another heartfelt and enjoyable read.
If you're looking for a sweet, quick and romantic read I highly recommend this book and series.
In the short novellas that make up this series, Katie Reus gives us strong alpha protective, possessive heroes that are determined to get the girl. In this case, you can add “again” and “to keep her safe”. After a three year separation, this main couple learn they were duped and waste no time letting old feelings become new again. Since they both remained celibate, it’s pretty much like they never parted.
Lusty thoughts and graphic smexy scenes, some which are in rather public places, mostly steal the show, folks, But you feel the chemistry and emotional connection between this very likable main couple, as well.. With some stalker drama that isn’t overly drawn out, it all wraps up very neatly within the allotted 99 pages.
So if you are looking for a quick, very lusty, second chance romantic read in a small hometown setting featuring a sweet, likable main couple, you might want to consider this one and check out the other books, as well.
Title: It’s Me Again, Baby, Series: O’Connor Family (Book 3), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 99, stand-alone novella but part of a series, alpha protective hero, sweet/damsel in distress heroine, second chance romance, celibate since separation, stalker drama, no cheating, no love triangle, no OW/OM drama, VERY smexy scenes in public places, HEA. Rating: 3.5 stars
(I received an advanced reader copy via NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. No compensation was provided to me, nor do I have any affiliation with the author/publisher/NetGalley.)
This is how you write a good second chance romance! You make either both characters celibate as it happened in this book, or you have both of them move on. This is my favorite story so far in the series, which is a surprise to me since I am not usually a fan of SCRs. I did wish that this story would be just a little bit longer, mainly because I enjoy Katie Reus' writing.
Maguire never expected to see Samantha again, especially since she was the one who broke up with him, but that’s what happens when you are looking for a house and let your meddling mother hire an agent for you. Enter Sam. Sam has no idea that Maguire is the client she’s meeting so when she finds him waiting for her, she not sure whether to run away or stay and face Maguire as she once should have done.
The truth, however, is far from what Sam believed it to have been. With the misunderstanding, out of the way, they both realize that they are free but more importantly still willing to give a second chance in what they had. And just when they think things are getting better, Sam’s past catches up with her…
I can’t believe this is the third book in the series! The O'Connors definitely know how HEAs are made! I loved Maguire and I have a feeling he’s going to be my fav O’Connor brother at the end of the series but we still have a bit to go before that. Sam and Maguire’s story was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to see who’s next.

This one is probably my least favorite of the series. Even though it's a second chance story, it felt too rushed. The whole misunderstanding "clear up" scene was so quick that if you blinked you would miss it. They were only together for like two weeks before the misunderstanding so it's not like they really got to know each other enough for forever when they finally get back together. I would have liked this one to be longer to get to know Maguire and Samantha more both apart and as a couple. Still, it was an enjoyable, just not my favorite.
After a misunderstanding stalled a blooming relationship 3 years ago. Samantha and Maguire make a go of it again, but a man from her past could derail it all.
I think Maguire is my favorite of the O'Connor siblings. He wastes no time at all letting Samantha know that her leaving him was based on a lie and that he wants her again. He's uber alpha and extra protective when he finds out about her past. Loved Him!
This is a fast past read and doesn't let up. Another winner from Katie Reus.

Maguire is one of my favorite heroes. He is an alpha without being a jerk.He is protective and sexy.Sigh.The O'connor family series is one of my absolute favorites! :) <3
Maguire was meeting a realtor about the property he was interested in buying. Maguire had been in Afghanistan while serving his country , when he came home he had trouble assimilating into the civilian world. He restored his mustang and that had been the best therapy. As the front door opened Maguire’s smile froze as it was Samantha Murphy and she was as surprised as he was. Sam and Maguire had spent a passionate week together when he had been home on leave from the Marines, they had made several promise to each other and then she ghosted on him. Maguire had never got the woman out of his head. As far as he knew Samantha had been in Oregon the last three years. He said to Sam “ You’re back in Holly” Sam said she had moved back when her father had died. She wanted to be there with her mother. Even though her mom seemed to be handling everything well. Maguire would not give Sam the satisfaction of knowing how much she had hurt him. Than Sam got angry and said she had went to the airport to say goodbye and ran into his other girlfriend Amy Barrett. She let Sam know Maguire was having sex with both of them. Sam’s smell even affected Maguire now and he hated that it did. Than Sam apologized when she saw Maguire was serious when he said he’s only been with hre. Than he asked her to go out to dinner the next night and she agreed. Sam said she had more places he could look at if he wanted to. Maguire said he was free and they could look at the places. He wanted to spend more time with Samantha. He planned on spending tonight finding out more about what she’d been up to these last few years. Also why she’s been so willing to believe he cheated on her. Maguire was the sexiest man Sam had ever known. Sam wanted to spend time with him in a non-working setting now she knew he hadn’t cheated on her. Sam had lost a lot of weight while in college. She hadn’t been used to guys paying attention to her. Than Maguire- a guy she had crushed on hard when she was younger, He’d been five years older than her, out of her league, and she had no idea who she was back than. They stopped for coffee and a snack after looking at the places she had to set up. Than Maguire asked if she was seeing anyone and she said no. Sam hadn’t dated in awhile as she had been consumed with work. After maguire she became a workaholic, determined to carve out a name for herself. Maguire was nervous around Samantha . She brought out possessive feelings he’d never experienced with anyone else. Keeping his hands and mind busy helped with the nightmares, which was why he worked so much. He was seriously zoning out, thinking about Samantha, which wasn’t like him. Even when he was focused on a project he kept his surroundings in check out of habit. Always, it was ingrained in him. Sam had never met anyone else who made her feel like Maguire did. Than in one of the places they looked out Maguire gave s Sam oral sex as he wanted to taste her again. Than Sam had to cancel dinner as her mother had sounded melancholy when she checked on her so Sam went to hre moms for the night. The next morning she went out to take her mother to the hairdressers and found she had two flat tires. Sam thought it was odd she had two flat tires. Than her phone rang it was Maguire and once she told him about her tires he said he would pick them up and take them where they had to go. He was also sending one of his guys to pick up Sam’s car and her mother's car would be ready this afternoon instead of tomorrow. Than him and Sam stopped for coffee nd he got a te3xt form one of his guys and Sam’s tires had been purposely slashed. That evening when Maguire pulled up to pick up Sam she seen a man outside on her balcony. The guy took off and Maguire didn’t dare take off after him in case there was someone else there. He called his soon to be brother in law Brad who was the sheriff. He then got out his weapon and went through Sam’s house. Sam had a stalker who had made harassing phone calls to her cell and office, show up at her work and her home uninvited. A man she had a restraining order against in Oregon. A man who had broke in her condo. She was spending the night at Maguires and maguire’s brother was spending the night at her moms to make sure she was ok. Samantha was a-one- of -a kind- woman and Maguire wasn’t letting go. Maguire would protect her with everything he had. No one was getting past him. Nelson Smith- Sam’s stalker- was in Holly. His credit card showed he had a room at a hotel on the outskirts of town for another week in a half but he hadn’t been there the last two days. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the pace and plot. I read this in one setting. I loved Sam and Maguire together. I was glad Sam could see maguire wasn’t lying when he told her he hadn’t cheated on her. I loved how close Sam was to her mom and Maguire to his family. This was a good romance and just enough angst and drama. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
I really really love this series. Firstly they are written by one of my fave authors, Secondly they are jam packed from start to finish, Thirdly the hero is as alpha as us romance readers have come to love, the heroine is also sassy and strong and Fourth, the books are short, sweet and supremely sexy!!
This is the story of Maguire and Sam. Due to a slight misunderstanding 3 years prior the 2 of them broke up, and now its 3 years later, they are both back in the town of Holly and circumstances bring them together again. I loved how the quick the problem was sorted and they became a couple again. I am not a fan of drawn out plots, which is why I love books like this. I prefer to read about them together as a couple....so this one worked for me in a big way.
Don't want to give too much away, but if you are a fan of this author, then this is just as good as ALL her previous books, and I highly recommend you get yourself acquainted withe the O'Connor Family as soon as possible!!!
A wonderful second chance-at-love story with a generous dose of dangerous suspense!
Three years ago hadn’t been the right time for them. Now certainly was.
It’s Me Again, Baby is a wonderful second chance-at-love story by the mega-talented Katie Reus! Katie is one of my favorite authors and this book is the perfect blend of steamy romance and dangerous suspense. While it’s the third installment in Katie’s O’Connor Family series and characters from the previous books do make appearances, It’s Me Again, Baby can be easily enjoyed as a standalone if that is your preference.
This is the story of Samantha and Maguire O’Connor. Their tale is told from their dual points-of-view. Samantha walked away from Maguire years ago due to a huge misunderstanding. Neither has forgotten the other. Now, years later, Samantha has moved back to Holly, North Carolina – where it’s Christmas all year long - to be close to her mother. As the story opens, Maguire is looking to buy a new home and is surprised to discover that the woman he’s not been able to forget is his realtor.
Both Samantha and Maguire are likable, genuine characters with hot chemistry from the get-go. They have a history – so, technically, it’s not insta-love. Katie writes awesome alpha heroes and Maguire fits the alpha hero persona to the tee. He certainly flaunts it in this tale as Samantha has a threatening, unstable stalker and Maguire’s protective instincts are hastened to the forefront forthwith. Maguire is used to making decisions, issuing orders and having them followed without question. But, Samantha is an adult and has been living independently for years. She understands where he is coming from but she is no pushover. I especially like how the couple amicably works through the issue in an adult manner.
Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from It’s Me Again, Baby:
She was always the woman he didn’t want to lose… --- “Maguire?” His name on her lips brought up too many naked memories. --- Taking her completely by surprise, he leaned down and strapped her in, his face only inches from hers as he took his time. He smelled fresh, crisp and oh so masculine. All she wanted to do was bury her face against his neck and breathe him in. Okay, she wanted to do more than that, but he smelled…
I listened to It’s Me Again, Baby. Sophie Eastlake does a great job bringing the story to life. Her voices of each gender are clear and sound realistic. She consistently differentiates between the characters and exudes the appropriate emotions. I love audios and, given a choice between reading the book and listening to Sophie perform it, I’ll choose Sophie’s narration every time.
I love this series featuring the HEA stories of the O’Connor siblings! If you enjoy well-plotted, exciting, heartwarming, sweet and sexy romances with a generous side of dangerous suspense, I’d highly encourage you to check out Katie Reus’ O’Connor Family series.
The third installment in the O'Connor Family series is a romantic, second-chance love story that fills all the senses.
The love and loyalty of the O'Connor family, the small town friendliness of the people of Holly, NC, and the hot chemistry of Maguire O'Connor and Samantha. Sam has had a thing for Maguire for some time and a few years ago had the chance to begin a relationship with him. As they started to become closer, Sam made the mistake of believing someone who intentionally misled her in order to distance the two of them. Now, after returning home to Holly, Sam finds she has a new client looking for a house to purchase, and that new house-hunting client is none other than Maguire.
Stunned, surprised, and still hurting from what she believes is a betrayal, Sam's immediate reaction is to run. Maguire, equally stunned, but exceptionally pleased to see Sam, is determined to not let her get away again.
I love this town and its people. Grab a copy and curl up for a sweet adventure. Recommended!
Maguire O'Connor and Samantha Murphy were in love until she let the lies of a jealous woman make her reject him. She broke his heart. He came back to Holly after his military service and now Sam is back home after the death of her father. Do they get a second chance at love? Maguire never forgot Sam. He knows that she's the one. I liked this Alpha male. He'll do everything in his power to take care of Sam. As for Sam she realizes her mistake and is sorry for hurting Maguire. I liked that she admits that she was wrong and that she's willing to try again. They are good together. I liked their spicy dialogue. Katie Reus mixes a passionate romance with a touch of suspense. She kept me reading It's Me Again, Baby. It's good to be back in Holly, North Carolina and catch up with the O'Connor Family. This series is filled with love and family. I'm enjoying this series. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read. My comments are my honest opinion.
Once again the O'Connor family is back with Maquire's story.
Maquire is meeting up with a real estate agent to look at a house. His mom set the meeting up for him and once he sees the agent he knows why. And clearly they were both surprised.
This is a quick escape in Holly filled with family and friends and the usual family hijinks. It's also a time for forgiveness and new beginnings.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Words to live by and Ms. Reus blends the heart of contemporary and the intrigue of suspense to create a seductive puzzler. Not to mention provide a little second chance love and a hint of matchmaking along the way. So many parts of the romantic genre have come together in a firecracker read.
Maguire, older brother to Fallon (see book two, Tease Me, Baby for her story) is hoping to purchase a house and is scheduled to meet with the realtor his mom contacted. For some reason, his mom seems to almost be avoiding him since she did so, only communicating with him via text. When he sees who the realtor is, he immediately knows why his mom is acting so differently lately. She arranged a meeting with Samantha, the woman that got away three years ago when she left, cutting all contact with him.
Three years ago, Sam went to the airport, planning on seeing Maguire, a Marine at the time, off as he returned to base, his leave over. They'd only had a week together, but she'd fallen for him in that time. But that day she ran into another Holly resident, one claiming to be Maguire's girlfriend, and that he'd cheated on Sam with her. As Sam was dealing with insecurity issues in regards to how she used to look, she accepted the lie, always having felt Maguire was out of her league. Heartbroken, Sam immediately cut him out of her life, though the pain remained. When Sam angrily brings this up, Maguire vehemently denies the other woman's claim, having never touched her nor barely remembers her, as well as confessing something he hadnt intended to, Sam knows he's telling the truth, and can't help but be happy regarding the latter as well.
Maguire wants to spend as much time as possible with Sam, learning about her life since she left, and yeah, he wasn't letting her go again. He's already implementing his plan by getting Sam to accept his dinner invitation.
"Soon he planned to claim what had been taken from him." - Sam
As Maguire and Sam continually look at various properties, both savor their time together. Though Sam knows she should be cautious as she's worried about losing Maguire again, she can't resist taking a chance. Unfortunately, other things will mar their reunion. It seems as if Sam acquired a stalker while she was gone, and he's followed her home to Holly.
Can Maguire protect Sam? Will her stalker be caught before it's too late? Will Maguire and Sam get the HEA that was always meant to be theirs?
One-click now and follow along as two people are reunited and realize they truly belong together. Psst...those concerned with safety issues like I am...neither were with anyone else during their three year separation. *This makes me so happy.*
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
This is a great book; this is the third book in the O’Connor Family series written by Katie Reus. Years ago Samantha made a mistake and lost a chance at something real with Maguire O’Connor. Now that she’s living in Holly again, she knows seeing him is inevitable. But the last thing she ever expected was to take him on as a client. Maguire never got over Sam. Thanks to a meddling family member, he mistakenly hires Sam as his real estate agent. With her in his sights again, he’s not letting her go. But someone from her past followed her back to Holly with a sinister intent. Now Maguire will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he intends to claim as his forever. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
The blurb for this book is good and pretty much rounds up the story and is not necessary to expand upon either.....I did enjoy this sweet novella telling the story of Maguire and Samantha but really wished it was longer as would have liked more of them as well as catch up with the O'Connor family.
As with all Katie Reus books we can guarantee to find a well written story that is an easy and pleasant read.
I was given a free audio copy by the author with the request to leave a review, but it was not a condition and not compulsory to do so. The story was read by Sophie Eastlake who in my opinion did a really great job - I have listened to quite a few books read by her and have always enjoyed them and have her rated as a good narrator.
Dang Maguire just puts it all out there, “not a question. If I’m dating you, I’m not dating anyone else.” And neither are you was the silent statement." Sam has no problem putting Maguire in his place, “well, annoyed at least. You just say these things without asking me. That’s not how relationships work.” I loved this second chance romance book, it was a quick read, and I just fell in love with Maguire.
