A special thank you to Steven and Lorna Eastwood for helping me get this story told."The best book on tarot I've read, I loved it. Great, and I mean great fantasy fiction story of Follin, the fool, through the characters of the major arcana. Well written, well done!" I am very much looking forward to the other stories in the Kingdom of Tarot." MK"I really enjoyed the narration & will definitely listen more than once to really tap into the journey as my own. Thank you to the author & narrator." S"I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, for me it is insightful and inspiring, I am using it as a personal learning aid as I commence my own fools journey, its powerful and gifted narrative suits my own particular learning style, it also helps give my journey perspective and a sturdy framework, like the tarot." BC"Wonderful Fairytale version of the Major Arcana. Great listen with the kids, enjoyable & inspiring. Informative on a simple level with a great intro & quote for each card." MT"I have just read the marvelous introduction to the Major Arcana as I followed Follin (The Fool) on his journey through the Tarot Empire. Noel takes a unique method to teaching the meanings of The Major Arcana cards by weaving together an interesting story about a journey taken by Follin... thanks to this well told story I have come to see more to the cards than I had imagined existed. I found myself relating to Follin's journey on several levels (which was quite a revelation). Each story unveils new revelations about life to Follin at the same time explaining (in easy to understand prose, much like the use of parables) the meanings to each card. Each card has it's own specific meaning and yet Noel manages to blend them all together into a seamless story.
It’s reeaally obvious that this was written by a yt man… For the 3rd edition, written in 2018, there’s no reason why all the characters need to be gendered & embody those gendered stereotypes— the fool is commonly thought to be androgynous. The naked womxn figures in the major arcana are described with such objectification & the fool’s young, curious male gaze is just… uncomfortable.
Also I listened to the audiobook & could not take any of it seriously, with the ridiculous voices the narrator used for the male vs. female characters lol.
First I would like to say thank you to Noel Eastwood for being kind enough to send me a copy of "The Fool's Journey Through the Tarot Major Arcana" and being a slow reader I have just finished reading this marvelous introduction to the Major Arcana as I followed Follin (The Fool) on his journey through the Tarot Empire. Noel takes a unique (at least to me) method to teaching the meanings of The Major Arcana cards by weaving together an interesting story about a journey taken by Follin. I have always had a rudimentary understanding of the Tarot (mostly through my profession), but thanks to this well told story I have come to see more to the cards then I had imagined existed. The cards all have interesting contributions to the "journey", my favorite cards were Death, The Hierophant and The Hermit. All in all, from beginning to end I enjoyed this very much and would recommend this read to those who enjoy a good read and/or have an interest in Tarot Major Acana cards ...
Understood all of it, agreed with most of it, enjoyed the artwork very much. Have never seen the Tarot {Major Arcana} pictured out in a book form that I can remember. Worth a read, and a ponder or 2. Oh got this free somehow, think a signup for something that got me on a few mailing lists.
Don't see it listed but just read through Trance Experiences with the Archetypes and it was interesting as well.
Intresting story. Short and to the point. Short enough to remember and use when reading the cards. Long enought to get a lot of details about each card. What a good story. I look forward to the next ones.
