Longtime steel hauler, Mason Kaine, a.k.a. Renegade only needed a few things to be happy; the whisper of his tires on that long ribbon of highway in front of him, money and a life with no complications. Being an Asphalt Cowboy means long, lonely hours on the road, dedication to the job and going wherever the loads are needed. Mason liked it that way. Meeting a feisty blonde whose allure is more potent than the finest Kentucky bourbon was not on his itinerary. He knows he should just walk away and leave the woman to deal with whatever mess she's in. But can he really just leave her alone and injured at a truck stop when he knows she's in way over her head?
She's Running From Her Past...
Savannah Somers has been on the run and in hiding for more than four years. Working at a truck stop hundreds of miles from her former life, she's been able to blend in and stay safe. That is, until two people from her old life and Mason Kaine walk into her new life on the same day. With her past chomping at her heels and Mason Kaine's scorching sex appeal, Savannah finds herself on a path with twice the danger and more than just her life at risk.
Can Savannah find the safety she's always needed in the arms of a man like Renegade?
Will Mason be able to save Savannah without finding himself chained to a lifetime of complications?
It'll take more than one hot load to find out if they'll make it together...for the long haul.

My favorite line in the whole book - "Do I look like a giant nipple to you?" I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. Instant love for Renegade he's drawn to Savannah the moment he sees her, cute conversations that make our cast feel like real people that have actually been in those places.
Sure some times the trucker environments can be shady but I love that Renegade captures the reality that truckers aren't all bad people and not all of them are participants in "nesting parties" (truck orgies) with chik-lizards (truck lot hookers), there are still some hard working people that are actually decent out there that aren't given enough credit for what they do.
Being a trucker is a hard life for everyone involved for both the trucker and their families. Few realize that most truckers have a story and there's a reason why they choose the job. Same as Mason.
Poor Savannah jaded by her life is swooped up and taken in by Mason during one of his stops after a tense situation you get some sense of her innocence and the past she carries on her shoulders as well while you follow her journey.
Mason aka Renegade gets to be hero and opens his heart (which every woman dreams of having)
Its kind of funny watching Mason and Sav go back and fourth because they both have the personality and wit but add in the sexual tension and you got a potent mix. They feel like an opposites attract couple until you realize just how much they actually have in common. Although I have to admit that the tea drinking trucker cracked me up I like that the life lesson that you can't always run from your past is written into the story.
Renegade is fantastic. You get suspense and action, you get romance and reality and you get your happily ever after its great.

Well I have to say this book was a treat for me. And the author really did her homework. I used to ride with my day as he hauled all number of things over the road. She got all that CB lingo right. And it just took me back to those days. That is except for all the bad things happened to Savannah and Mason Kaine, a.k.a. Renegade. They both have a past that haunts them. Mason walks in at just the right time to rescue Savannah from some truly despicable people. Man the even burn her house down. But Mason cannot just walk away and leave her like this, so he makes the decision to take her with him. And that is where the real story takes off. Mason has never needed a woman, but as he spends more time with Savannah, he finds he wants to keep her. He’d do anything for her; he’d go through hell and back to keep her safe. Sometimes love is all you need to concur all.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.
Mason and Savannah have both been through things in their past that they wish they could forget about but can't. Mason, known as Renegade, is a truck driver that meets up with Savannah, and when he finds out what's going on in her life he tries to protect her any way he can. This story has so many twists and turns. It's not for the faint of heart. I was brought to tears at parts, and went through every possible emotion reading this book. Madison Sevier is a phenomenal author and I can't wait for the next book. This book is a must read and I highly recommend it.
Madison Sevier became one of my very favorite must read now authors with my very first taste of her work. That hasn't changed a bit and if anything has became a more urgent need to get my hands on her books right away.
Renegade is one of those books that touched my heart, made me cry, laugh, cling to the edge of my chair in suspense, and fan myself a few times. I loved the characters and the story line. A series about truckers! What more could the girl that was raised in the garage and towing business ask for. Madison has done a fabulous job of capturing the life of a trucker, a trucker's wife, and the workers of a truck stop.
Savannah Somers has been through so much in her life. It hasn't been easy living through the things she has had to endure. Nor has it been easy living life on the run and in fear all the time. Savannah is one of those characters that I bonded with right away. I cheered for her, cried for her, and felt her fear.
Mason Kaine has living a rough life. He's one of those guys that has a tough exterior but also has a heart of gold. Mason is sure not looking for a relationship when he meets beautiful Savannah in a truck stop. However he is unable to walk away when he sees Savannah having a rough time. I loved that this guy did not know anything about this lovely lady but stepped in to help her out. How can you not instantly fall in love with a guy like that.?
Savannah and Mason have an instant attraction that is explosive. I loved watching these two quibble their way though different situations. It was fun watching them get to know each other, push each other's buttons, and offer up sweet gestures to for other that were so heartwarming.
Now let me talk about the suspense and drama. Oh my goodness not only is this one awesome romance story but an dramatic action packed story too. I don't want to tell you too much because I really do want you to enjoy this story as much as I did. I will tell you that I held my breathe through a few scenes and clung to edge of my seat through a few more. I did not want to put this book down.
I can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. I know it will be a terrific read.
I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Renegade.
I used to work for a trucking company. I met all kinds of people. Some creeped me out (no joke) and others treated me like family (again, no joke). I never worked dispatch so I was seriously lost when it came to radio lingo. I managed the drivers' routes on paper and the paperwork needed for each stop. I have to say, I love the truckers were portrayed so positively in this book.
They're kinda like bikers, you know? People see the leather, tatts, beards, and bandanas and shy away. Underneath all of that, for some at least, are hearts of gold and a crusader spirit that pushes for protection and strength for those who need it most.
That was Mason. Despite his rough exterior, he was the champion Savannah needed but didn't know she did. I didn't blame her. Four years she took care of herself. Why would she need someone else to step in now? But, sometimes, the pressure of hiding and looking over one's shoulder becomes too much and the support being offered is the God sent salvation one needs.
But she was no wilting flower despite needing a helping hand. She gave as good as she got, and Mason did as well. The attraction between them was nearly instantaneous. The fact that she could no longer run from her past was obvious. The choice to deal with it... Well, it was inevitable.
I've never read a trucker romance. Ms. Sevier knows her stuff, lol. Moments in this book brought back good memories from my time at the trucking company. I met some of the most amazing people there, and I'm so happy to have met an amazing trucker once again, even if he is fictional.
This story isn't particularly heavy or angst filled. There is suspense and action, both which Ms. Sevier wrote well. But the humor and wit she sprinkled through the story make it a little lighter than I thought it would be, which made it a delightful read for me.
I love Madison’s portrayal of truckers and their environment…the long open road…their truck eating up the asphalt. This is a very nice insight to the life of a trucker and the obstacles they have to overcome with their deliveries and a look into their daily lives that most people do not know. You have to like Mason (aka Renegade) right from the start. He’s charming, sexy and he has manners! Savannah, on the other hand, is a smart mouth, sassy, temperamental female that is running from her past and Mason has to decide if it’s worth it to get involved or ignore the situation to meet his deadline. After one spur of the moment decision, their journey begins. They are both attracted to each other from the start and their chemistry together is great. It has serious, somber and light-hearted, funny moments throughout. Mason wants to be her hero, her knight and Savannah is desperate to show how much she doesn’t need him, even though she does. Will they open up to each other and take a chance at a good thing? Savannah has a habit of letting her mouth run away with her and two of my favorite scenes are where she asks Mason, in front of an audience, if she looks like a big nipple to him and later when she’s asking him about blue balls. She just blurts stuff out and it’s hilarious. Mason just does not know what to think of her…she’s a constant surprise. This was a delightful, fun read with great dialogue and strong characters. It will be worth your time to give it a read.
Renegade/Mason is a long haul trucking god !! He gets his load from one end of the U.S. to the other as fast as he can creatively write up his mileage books for the D.O.T. ( Department of Public Safety). On a bathroom/gas/snack break he meets Savannah as she is attempting to fight of kidnappers from her past, that she has been in hiding from for the last 4 years. Savannah needs a safe place to hide, and she has secrets, ones that could get Renegade killed for helping her. He should just walk away, but there is something about Savannah that has him offering to take her with him. On the road to drop his load off, the sexual tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife, but is either one of them willing to take the first step in trusting the other. You'll have to read the book to find out if they get their HEA. Having read Ms. Sevier's bio, i know she has lived some of the family side of being a truckers wife and she has done the genre and long haul truckers proud. I was gifted a copy, but was not asked to review it. I chose to do so because it is that good of a book, if you like Sassy women, gorgeous, sexy men, a few twists and turns, hidden secrets and maybe even long haul truckers, this is the book for you !!
This is a quick and fun read. It also has plenty of angst and action! Mason aka Renegade is a long haul trucker with a troubled past who likes to keep his life simple, all he has ever needed is his rig and the open road. That all ends when he meets Savannah, a saucy clerk at a truck stop he finds himself in from time to time. Their first exchange is a memorable one and left him with a blush on his face when she cuts him down to size. Savannah doesn't have time for romance, she is running away from a dangerous past and has to keep her wits about her. She is very much attracted to Mason but thinks it's best to keep him at a distance. But when she least expects it, Savannah's past makes an appearance at just the right moment and Mason becomes her knight in shining semi! But, will Mason regret taking on Savannah and her troubles? Will Savannah be able to trust Mason and accept his help? Will Mason's own troubled past scare Savannah away? Read and see!
I really enjoyed this story, even though its a quick read it packs a punch! Strong characters, a refreshingly different story line, plenty of humor and angst make this a memorable story. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
I have read a couple of Madison Sevier books and found that she gets better and better with each book. I was asked to read this book in exchange for an honest review. The main characters Mason Kaine, a trucker and Savannah Somers, a waitress/cashier come together explosively. Alex is a very headstrong and very independent lady. As the two come together at the truck stop Mason comes to Savannah's rescue where her past catches up with her. From here on out it ends up being quite a bumpy and long haul relationship between the two. I was quite impressed with the book as it kept your interest from start to finish and it was actioned packed. Something was going on constantly. I highly recommend the book if you enjoy truckers, action, and romance. Thank you Madison for a lovely book and the opportunity to review it.
Renegade Another fabulous, sexy romance by Madison Sevier! Mason/Renegade was happy with his life. He lived his life simply- driving and the road were all he needed. He is an asphalt cowboy- a steel hauler, in for the long haul. That is until he met her- Savannah. He spotted her in the rest stop, when she was doing her best to run and stay away from her past. But, it caught up with her, and she knew it was time to run again. The chemistry between Mason and Savannah is scorching.....Can she take a leap of faith and trust him? Is he willing to take a risk on her, and perhaps on love? Hot, hot, hot!
I think I'm a new fan of truckies/truckers...well maybe, as the one's I've seen usually have BO and a beer gut. Mason (Renegade) and Savannah are the main characters in this tale and they have some major chemistry happening. He meets her in a truck stop and she's running from her past (her evil ex). Speaking of her evil ex, his dog fighting ring had me furious and teary eyed. Madison's portrayal of life on the road for a truckie was very real, I could almost smell the diesel. This story flowed smoothly, I read it in one day. The banter between the characters at time was hilarious. There was drama and action and plenty of sizzle. I just loved it and look forward to reading more in this series.
Awesome read yet again. Funny moments, sad moment a few moments I wanted to jump through the book and beat down some folks with a baseball bat!! Here are just two highlights of many I made. ......."Through large, yellowing teeth that could give Mr. Ed a run for his money". ............."Damn, the woman was a perfect storm. She’d blown into his life with the strength of a hurricane" Perfect chemistry with Mason and Savannah. Mason feels so real to me he is a warrior with a bad ass attitude (but not overdone) with a soft heart just what all women need, a real man with a hero's heart. Add to your TBR list ..........can't wait for the second book in this awesome series.
Keep on truckin' and writing about it, Madison Sevier. A good introduction for me into the world of long haul truckers and the rationale behind some of their actions. The interplay between the truck driver hero and the damsel in distress were spot on. The details of her previous life and difficulties were taken from today's headlines in Kentuckiana and the motel described reminded me of one that has been in the local news. Both characters have issues from their past but begin to work toward solving them as the book continues. The ending was sweet and yet realistically talked about the difficulties they will still face as he continues his career as a long haul trucker. I recommend the book highly.
Mason and Savannah's story was heart wrenching. There were some parts that were difficult to read because I had tears streaming down my face. Vinny, Suzi, and Earl you just want to hop into the book and beat them with a sledgehammer!! What they have done to Savannah and her life is the cruelest things I have ever read. Mason is such a strong man even from a young age he has to deal and manage things that noone should have to ever go through. : ( Renegade is Savannah's savior . This is not your conventional love story but a story how through so much pain and loss you can find your soulmate and happiness is possible again.
Madison Sevier gives us an inside look to the world of truck drivers.
Mason Kaine or "Renegade" as he was called drove a big rig and kept to himself and just doing what he loved best - driving truck. Savannah was hiding from her "crazy" ex until one day two people from her past showed up and it started all over again. Renegade couldn't stop himself from helping Savannah even though she didn't was him to become involved. They both know they have an attraction for the other and neither wants to act on it. Can Renegade keep Savannah safe? Will they act upon their feelings? This book is definitely a must read and would recommend to everyone to read.
Renegade by Madison Sevier is fantastic. Renegade is a fairly short read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. This well written book was just plain fun to read. Ms Sevier has penned well developed, lovable characters. Mason and Savannah's story is loaded with plenty of drama, action and sizzle. What I liked most about this book though is the humor. Ms Sevier has managed the perfect balance. I loved Renegade and look forward to reading more from Madison Sevier in the future, especially this series. Renegade is book 1 of the Asphalt Cowboys Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Madison brings to words the world of loving a trucker. The story is a very well rounded storyline with all the lows (grab tissues) and the highs ( okay grab tissues again). Mason and Savannah's journey is not all peaches and cream but I am glad I took this journey with them. I highly recommend this book just wish I could give it a higher than a five star. What you are still reading this and haven't bought the book yet what are you waiting for?
This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely will not be the last. . Mason and Savannah are two people have had so much pain and suffering in their past. Both running from having a life and happiness they didn't think they deserved. .. Fate had other ideas for them as they are thrown together and both trying to protect and heal the other... Can't wait for the next book in this series. .
Drivin', Drama and Durn hawt! What a fantastic ride. A good look at what these guys go through and their are good ones out there. Savanah and Renegade are a blast as a couple. Hilarious interactions abound, throw in their personal drama they each are dealing with and some Hawt days and nights together and you have a really good read.
Renegade and Savannah are both running from their pasts when they meet. And sparks fly when they do. In oder to give him peace of mind he offers to take her with him in his semi and it just gets better. Fantastic read. I would recommend this to my friends definitely!
This is a great story. You've got suspense and a love story all rolled into one and the description of the life of a trucker and their daily routine and workings of hauling felt so real and you can just feel the love the author put into it and you can tell it comes from the heart. Can't wait for the next book.
Always love a hero. This book hit all the right feelings. The connection between characters and their back stories were amazing. I had all the feelings at different times, disgust, fear, anger, hate, happiness, joy and sadness. I was so happy the way the story turned and love filled the cab of the truck. I will definitely be reading more of Madison Sevier`s books.
Loved this book, Mason is super sexy, and Savannah is spirited and spunky I laughed I cried and I loved it so much I was disappointed when it ended, I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series
This was my first "trucker" romance. I was not very interested in the beginning, but then I was hooked. I can't tell you when or what got me hooked, I just was. I May just have to check out the other books in the series.
My father was a trucker and I spent many summers of my childhood in that rig with him. This book brought back so many memories, it had me smiling the whole way through. Outside of that...the story was fun, fast paced and the banter between the hero and heroine was adorable.
This book was lots of fun to read... quick paced and interesting. The main characters, Mason and Savannah, are very believable, and I found myself pulling for them right off the bad. It was harder believing the bad guy's 2 henchmen, on the other hand I felt a definite and strong aversion to them! So that's good! The development of the romance was very charming and had a natural progression which lots of authors seem to skip in their haste to get their H&H together. The life on the road of a trucker is VERY well done, although someone not familiar with trucker/CB terminology may struggle a bit. Bottom line, I really enjoyed this and will definitely be getting the next book in the series!
On page 34 I really think I might like this story, but at the end of almost every two pages it seems like a few words or more are missing, so at the end of each set of pages, I'm stuck trying to figure out what I've missed. That takes me completely out of the story. It is terribly frustrating as I was just getting to know the characters, but I just can't continue reading a story with that many issues on each page.
