Rate this book
Every teacher struggles at one time or another with unmotivated students. Michael and D'Neil Duffy, who have shared those struggles in their own professional careers, drew on the wisdom of Maria Montessori, years of their own experience and that of their colleagues, and the insights gleaned from decades of research on the subject of motivation to produce a book designed to help Montessori teachers in this area.

Excellent book on motivation, and how Montessori guides can support greater development of intrinsic motivation in their students. The Duffy's, Michael and D'Neil, remind readers of the importance of 4CS to assist with motivation-Choice, Content, Collaboration and Challenge. Not only does this book reinforce many of the fundamental principles in Montessori for elementary students, but it also is a subtle argument for why Montessori education when done with high fidelity, works for most children.
