Not finished.... what a piece of crap writing! This is just awful! Not for me. Sorry but just because you can now publish a book does not mean you know how to write one.

•••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars-- ALPHA by Madisyn Ashmore is a contemporary adult, paranormal romance story line focusing on Bond, Alaska alpha wolf shifter Aidan Channing, and human, female attorney Olivia Ryan.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Olivia and Aidan) ALPHA follows human attorney Olivia Ryan as she struggles with her first legal defense case for Alaskan wolf shifter Chase Reynolds. Chase has been charged with the murder of his human girlfriend Charlotte Smith, and Olivia will be Chase’s attorney for the upcoming trial. Enter Aidan Channing, the Bond Wolf Pack Alpha, and the man with whom Olivia would fall in love. What ensues is the quick building but forbidden relationship between Aidan and Olivia, the struggle for Olivia to be accepted by the Pack, and the search for the truth when as someone tries to prevent Olivia from defending Chase Reynolds.

Aidan Channing is the Bond Pack Alpha but battles the shifter hierarchy at every turn. Aidan does not have a mate and finding his forever in a human female does nothing to ingratiate the Alpha with the members of his Pack. Olivia’s presence in Bond, Alaska has awakened Aidan’s need to mate but the old laws are meant to prevent the mixing of shifters and humans much to the chagrin of our leading couple. The $ex scenes are seductive and intense.

We are introduced to a large number of secondary and supporting characters including Aidan’s brother Jameson Channing ; polar bear shifter and head of the shifter council Dominic Holmes; as well as several local shifters and their families.

ALPHA is an entertaining story line about the prejudice between human and shifters, specieism, and the love between two people that breaks through boundaries and walls. The premise is imaginative; the characters are colorful and animated; the romance is fated and passionate. ALPHA is an energetic tale with a lively cast of characters and a happily ever after.

Wasn't sure what to expect with this one and I have to admit while it was an ok read, it didn't really wow me and not one I'm likely to remember or re-read!
Parts of it were good, this author has some nice world building going on and I really enjoyed that but then other parts felt rush or not explained adequately.
Spoilers!!!!
I mean how does 2 alpha's not scent/know a newly turned wolf was near and then said newly turned wolf and one other were able to take down the main alpha and a bear at that?? Sorry but nope, felt like she hurried the ending.
The main characters themselves were ok and their relationship, which developed fast, was believable. A few minor grammatical issues also.
I received and ARC with no obligation to leave my honest review.
Overall a quick easy read.

This book had so much potential but failed in execution and development. For a short book it took me so long to finish because I kept putting it down and it took me a long time to bring myself to read it.

I found Olivia such a one dimensional character that I really did not know her and really could not understand what Aiden saw in her. I am all for instalove but within minutes of meeting him she wants to get it on with him? Also the scenes were choppy and the editing was poor. One moment she is in front of Aiden and the next she is turning her head and kissing him behind her. Unless she is a contortionist it made it hard to get into the story when the scenes made no sense.

I really wanted to like this story as Aiden sounded so yummy but unfortunately the characters lacked depth.

Alpha by Madisyn Ashmore is a Paranormal Romance

Olivia is a lawyer on a mission. Olivia has taken on wolf shifter Chase Reynolds as a client, representing him pro bono. Chase's girlfriend Charlotte, the mayor's daughter, was found dead with his DNA all over her but denies killing her, and Olivia believes him. Chase doesn't have an alibi so Olivia needs to find evidence that will prove Chase's innocence. Chase tells Olivia that she should speak to his alpha. Aidan is the alpha of the Black Oak pack and has no need for pretty city lawyers coming to Alaska to fix shifters but agrees to help Olivia. When Aidan follows up on a possible lead with a bear shifter, he inadvertently ends up endangering Oliva when the bear shifter smells Olivia's scent on Aidan and goes looking for Oliva. Luckily Aidan gets to Olivia before the bear shifter and saves the day. Olivia has only been on this case for a short while, and already, trouble has found her.

Olivia and Aidan are both intensely attracted to each other, and being together 24/7, it was only a matter of time before they ended up in bed. When Olivia asks Dominic, the ruler of the Arctic shifters, for his support, he decrees that Olivia should either be killed or kept as a s** slave and Aidan doesn't hesitate to save her by claiming Olivia as his mate. Dominic tells Olivia he doesn't want humans digging into shifter affairs and forbids her from defending Chase on pain of death. For some reason, Dominic doesn't want Chase to go free. Olivia refuses to let Chase be executed for a crime he didn't commit and when she doesn't drop Chase's case, Dominic starts exerting pressure. Which makes Olivia wonder ... Maybe Chase knows something that Dominic doesn’t want to become public knowledge. Will Olivia be able to figure out the mystery and help Chase?

Alpha is an engrossing story that's action packed, super suspenseful and insanely steamy. Madisyn Ashmore pulled me in with a captivating storyline and interesting characters. I highly recommend this book.

>Book Review - Alpha

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a standalone paranormal romance with an HEA. Olivia is a new lawyer sent to Alaska to defend a shifter accused of the murder of his human girlfriend. No one in the shifter community trusts or wants to help Olivia. The pack alpha, Aiden, tries to help her while protecting her from a pack threat against her. Pack law vs. human law is very different, but Olivia can't see sacrificing the shifter in custody for the good of the pack.

>There is a lot of romance and very hot scenes between Aiden and Olivia. The danger Aiden is in due to his mating of Olivia is not stressed enough. The head of all alphas, Dominic, is the main shifter that Olivia needs to win over despite his old fashioned ideas. Dealing with the prejudices against both shifters and humans, Olivia is fighting a seemingly hopeless battle to win her case.

>There is a gripping fight scene, but the results from the battle seemed a little to easy. After all, Olivia will be dealing with a lifetime of prejudice against humans. The book is appropriate for an adult audience. There are a few too many sex scenes. Those scenes seem more like filler, than anything that actually move the plot. I am giving the story 4 stars.

2.5 stars. I had a little trouble getting through it and almost DNF at about 65%. It started out strong. I was intrigued. I initially liked Aiden, the 'Alpha', even though I was expecting a man with alpha tendencies and really that term was in reference to him being alpha of a pack. He wasn't very alpha-ish with his female MC, Olivia. And Olivia was a bit annoying with her stomp the foot, dig the heels in ways. She was willing to risk an entire pack for her gut feeling about Chase. She also was a bit quick to accept Aiden's 'claiming' and what that meant. Aiden's character went on and on about his loyalty to the pack but his actions were opposite. There were bothersome story issues like that. Also the writing style was redundant, in both the conversations and the sex. I started skipping pages. I did enjoy that there was a mystery to the story line and the pace in which things were unraveled was ok. I thought the author did a nice job of building the paxk's world and structure. Overall it was an ok light read and I think some would enjoy it but my preferences didn't line up. I wouldn't recommend it so I had to give it less than 3 stars.

The description/blurb of this story ends with:
"Compulsively readable, Alpha is a passionate, enthralling paranormal romance and a must-read for shifter fantasy fans.

That is no lie! The story held me from the first page. The storyline flows perfectly, and the story itself is well written and fast paced. The character development of both Aiden Channing, pack alpha, and Olivia Ryan, very human & a new attorney, was in depth and very well done. This story has some new (to me) descriptions of werewolf lives, choices, and hierarchy. Filled with mystery, suspense, hatred, lessons learned and understanding, love and romance, (the last four are the best part!)
No spoilers here, but I will say that the only disappointment you will have with this story is not reading it!

Loved this book. It's about a human lawyer who takes a case for a wolf shifter that is accused of murdering his girlfriend. She just happens to be the Mayor's daughter. Olivia has her work cut out for her being a new lawyer, working to free a wolf shifter and she lives in Alaska. When she goes to see Aiden they have an instant connection. He agrees to help her and one thing leads to another. He is the Alpha of his pack but the High Council above him doesn't like humans. Will Aiden continue to help Olivia even though he's told not to? Will their chemistry bring them closer together even though they are worlds apart? Can there be a happily ever after for a human with a wolf shifter? I can tell you that when you read this book and find out all of these questions, you will not be disappointed. There's politics, family, life, love and sex so there is something for everyone. I absolutely loved it! Aidan is the Alpha of his pack & damn hot to boot but what I loved most about his character is his vulnerability with Olivia and his insecurity regarding future of their relationship when she shows reservations! Olivia is doing her best to get a shifter off a murder charge, she truly believes he is innocent but being human she has no concept of shifter politics & lands herself in hot water mixing in something she doesn't understand but never fear Aidan is on hand to protect her. But it all depends on whether or not they can find out who actually committed the murder and survive their investigation.

I got this as an ARC for my honest opinion and review. This is not my first Madisyn Ashmore book. I love her style of writing. It just pulls me in to the worlds that she creates. This book Alpha takes to Alaska and to the world of shifters. In this case wolves and the way a pack is run. It demands respect and honor. Olivia is there to be the lawyer for Chase. Who has been locked up for the death of the Mayor's daughter. With the help of the Black Oak Alpha Aidan. Will they found out who killed her? Was Chase involved? What could happen between Sexy Alpha and Confident Lawyer.....you will just have to read and find out....*fans myself*

Alpha by Madisyn Ashmore

Another wonderful read from this Author. I loved Alpha, a Paranormal Shifter Romance with love and heart. Aidan and Olivia's story will warm your heart from the frozen tundra of Alaska to the heat of passion between these two characters. a quick fun read that will have you howling with delight.
Olivia, a Lawyer just starting out makes her way to Alaska to solve a murder case that will forever change her life. Aidan, pack leader/wolf shifter was a real pleasure to read about and my favorite character. He is Honest, protective and HOT!!!

I give Alpha 4 stars for its sizzling hot chemistry.
I would recommend this book to Adults.

Alpha will wow you!

The book starts off with a bang and brings you along for the journey. You will not want to put it down. This is my first book from Madisyn Monroe and it definitely won't be my last. Her character development and storyline are extremely fleshed out. There are definite lines of demarcation between good and bad. The difference between human justice and shifter justice and hierarchy could have been confusing but Monroe writes with crisp and concise detail. I loved the main characters Aidan and Olivia they are so well written that you have to read to the very last page.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I did feel it was rushed a little in the last few chapters. I really like she came to Alaska to be a attorney. Olivia's first case is for a shifter, and she has to go to the alpha to ask questions. Aidan is all man and shifter that she has a hard time asking him questions to help her client. She has to be strong even thou she does not feel that way in front of other shifters that do not like or trust humans, but with Aiden by her side she is able to. Nice read for a shifter and human mating. I received a arc copy for my honest review.

Olivia Ryan was driving down a service road when her vehicle got stuck in the snow. There was a café about a half mile away if she could walk in the below-freezing cold weather before she froze to death! Alaska was definitely cold and dangerous if you could not get to shelter quickly! When she made it to the café, she asked for Aidan Channing. The waitress was almost hostile to her, and obviously a shifter. When she proceeded to the back room, she was surprised that Aidan was not what she had expected. Olivia was a lawyer and her client, Chase, was accused of murdering the mayor’s daughter. Aidan was the pack alpha and she was trying to get his help with this. She immediately felt attracted to him and knew he would be aware of it also.

Relations between shifters and humans were not very good. The politics was strong from both sides. There was hostility in the shifter community and Olivia was in danger. How far would Aidan go to assist with the case? Would he be willing to protect her as well – or take it even further? Would the shifters who wanted pack justice to deal with this intervene? Would the humans want to dispense their own justice?

This was a good story. The pace was fairly steady and the underlying tension kept things interesting and moving along. The writing was good. I would definitely recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue to read other books by this author.

This is a shifter story with a difference. It's the age old conflict between how much or how little change is good for a community and its survival. Can humans and shifters live side by side without trying to annihilate each other. In the middle of the conflict one shifter and one human prove that it is possible. And how they prove it !!! Steam rising !!!!
Ms. Ashmore wrote a fast paced story with well developed characters and a new approach to the shifter genre.

Mysterious and sensual, Bring on the fan..

Really good read, mysterious and sensual. 4 Stars

Fast paced enjoyable story. Don't let the drawn out feeling of the plot bother you, the in between scenes definitely make up for it. You may need a fan for a few of the scenes. Lol.

It keeps you guessing till the very end. And it wasn't who I thought at first.

Mature readers, strong language and sexual content.

Meant to be

Olivia, an attorney, is offering her services pro bono to a shifter who is charged with murder of a human. Seeking assistance from his Alpha, Aidan, doesn't scare Olivia....much. Neither expects the strong attraction between them. Of course there are complications. Shifters aren't too keen on humans. Olivia is determined to clear the shifter no matter what the cost. Together she and Aidan meet everything complication head on. A very enjoyable read peppered with suspense and the unexpected.

This story reads like a fairytale. I loved it. A young lawyer looking to gain experience in her chosen career, meets a very handsome alpha male. This man is destined to help her solve her case.

Oh, and he is a werewolf, the alpha of his clan.

I was glued to this story from start to finish. I have quickly become a big fan of Madisyn Ashmore.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won't be the last. I had a little trouble getting into the book at first. However, in all fairness, I wasn't feeling well so it wasn't the book. Once I got into the book I really enjoyed the characters. Aiden & Olivia are great and both have their own beliefs so they struggle to find a happy medium. The outcome was a bit obvious but I enjoyed the story as it played out.

I really enjoyed reading this book from start to finish!! It had a dreamy male that exuded sex appeal from the moment Aiden met Olivia. She certainly felt the attraction and him being a shifter he knew how turned on she was!! The story has action and a murder mystery and really hot sex!! It also has a HEA that I know is important to some people, and I actually felt really good when I finished it!! So I definitely recommend this book and I would not be mad if Aiden and Olivia appeared in another book (hint hint!!) because now I'm emotionally invested in the two of them!! If you love hot Alpha men that just happen to be shifters and strong females that don't take crap from anyone then you will love this book!! Enjoy!!

Definitely a good story. Olivia is spunky and stares down a shifter that tries to intimidate her in staying away from the alpha Aidan. Olivia is a newly appointed lawyer for a shifter in custody for supposedly killing a human. She believes he's innocent and will go to the extreme to find out whose trying to frame him and why. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys shifters, a spit fire alpha female, as well as an alpha male. You won't be disappointed.

Too fast

This book had great bones but the story fell short. I have such a hard time not putting a book down when an author rushes a relationship or connection just to fill the smut scene quota. My advice to the author would be this.......build your characters more. Make them more complex instead of jumping right into sexual scenes less than 24 hours after the characters meet.

Olivia is a California girl. Aiden is an Alaskan Alpha. From two totally different worlds. They work together on a case that Olivia is defending.

Aiden's pack and shifter world isn't happy that he wants Olivia as his mate. They are threatened with death. Can they overcome all of the threats to solve the case and find love?

Good story with little violence.

The book was good, but Olivia was so annoying I wanted to scream. For her to be so smart she was dumb. Ugh!!! I guess it's true " if you have book smarts, you have no common sense, and if you have common sense, you are not book smart". At least that was true in this book. Smh other wise then that the book was good.

Awesome read. Story both captivating and suspenseful. It needs to be a follow up story.

I like that the author kept you guessing as to who the killer was, and Olivia was able to make her case for Chase. I also like that the truth was revealed and Charlotte's family was able to find closure. Great that Aidan stuck by his mate. It was a happily ever after.

Warm embracing romance with shifters.

So loved the characters in this shifter romance. They are honest and pure in the author’s storytelling unveiling the heart of unconditional love.

The blend of two cultures evolves the story and fluidity of the new relationship between Olivia and Aidan.

In this paranormal romance, the shifters in Alaska are not to fond of the humans. Aidan is an alpha and Olivia is a human. From their first meeting, they have a strong attraction and connection. They face a lot of danger when they become involved and refuse to abandon a shifter in need. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The story moves fast and keeps your attention. I liked that it showed a more realistic view of characters and did not romanticize everyone.
