listen there arent enough words in the world to express how much i love this manga. idky, i don play volleyball, i cant but this??? IS SO WHOLESOME LIKE I CAN'T-
I really like the slight focus that Shimizu gets in this volume, and the message that, even though she doesn't stand on the court, the part she plays for the team is still valuable. Getting some glimpses of the characters at home or outside of school was fun, too. Hinata's little sister is adorable! Also... We get to see Bokuto again! What more do I need to say?
Favorite moments:
-Hinata with his little sister. -Daichi's dream. (And him checking to make sure it WAS just a dream.) -Asahi making a wish for his neighbor's dog's health. -"Hey, hey, heeey!"
A warmup to the matches ahead. Even though I know how the story is gonna go from watching the anime, I'm worried for Karasuno. They're so out of sync and doesn't seem to have made much progress.
Never thought I see myself get angsty in starting a manga, but this volume was it.
My brain knows we are getting closer and closer to the end of the content the anime covered and into new territory. I am 100% here for that, but I am LOVING being able to experience this part I saw in the anime in it's original manga form.
This volume I feel is like the anticipation volume because everything Karasuno has been doing is slowly leading them to their goal of winning nationals. I love the days before they left for nationals and the ending of the match with Date Tech. They (Date Tech) have really leveled up and really love their team! (Sort of surprising how much they have grown too though!) I also loved the "meeting" between the thirds years from both teams as well as Koganegawa being so friendly and extroverted. He has become one of my new fave characters!
Hinata's sister is adorable! I loved that brief conversation her and Hinata have about Hinata being best friends with the ball! <3
Daichi's dream was HILARIOUS! I loved the third years being together on their pilgrimage and how Kiyoko encouraged them. LOVED the I'm Awesome the movie! (So thankful Ukai is their coach and that he has friends who can do awesome things like that. <3)
Also, deeply loved hearing more about Kiyoko and seeing her shine! I'm so glad that she came to the volleyball team and how began to care for the guys. She is amazing and I know Karasuno is in good hands with Yachi! <3
Also also, the chapter image of chapter 226 was one of my faves. <3
Another epic volume and SO excited for this upcoming match!
As if Shimizu isn't perfect enough, Furudate-san has to make her an athlete too.
Anyway. Di naman ako hater, actually. Hahaha!
Ahh, sometimes I wish I haven't finished the anime yet, and I could read this while watching it. There were a lot of side stories too, and not just practice games. So I'd say it was pretty light. But I wouldn't say it was boring. It was fun to read a bit more about Japan too.
Maybe it's just my missing competitive sports, but this volume got me HYPED for Nationals. And on top of the tournament's introduction, Kiyoko got her chance to shine, making Vol. 26 one of my favourites.
Ahfhshdhhss LOS AMO VALE?
finally finished this after like a week. It's not the book's fault, obviously, I mean, I love Haikyuu so effing much but I'm in a bit of a reading slump because of stress I think so hopefully that will die down once holiday break comes. Anyway, another good volume and I can't wait to see how they'll do at this Tournament. My children ♥ also, Shimizu background story for the win!
-yknow ... the vibes are weird ever since the 'return of the king' thing
-thank god yachi brought that up, i was wondering what grandpa ukai meant about how the minus tempo is being used a waste
-they are, in great detail, talking about how their tactic with the synchro attack is to info overload the opposing team's blockers, which is is info overload for me, the reader (appropriately enough i guess)
-aone and hinata bowing again hehe
-daaang kinoshita ... the power u have actually to get noya like that
-THE THIRD YEARS happy new year! asahi is me for real overthinking everything
-shimizu's word is gospel --- "It isn't as if making wishes or praying to the gods is going to help you win games though." it's giving Kessen Spirit "kamisama no tasuke wa iranai"
-ennoshita future captain !!!
-tsukki babysitting the freak twins kdjdks
-oh my god ... i swear ... wait so again relating to kessen spirit, the ending song of season 4 ... i was just thinking about how that is so so so *tailored* for haikyuu ... anyway theres a line there thats probably based on this interaction of yachi and kiyoko about scars as your badge of honor. Anyway whatever listen to kessen spirit! It's so good. It's so haikyuu. It's very Kiyoko-centric now that i think abt it
-noya 😭😭😭😭 pls "thank you god, thank you shoyo" ksjdkd he looks like a kid being held up like that
-damn damn i know tanaka is gonna marry kiyoko but ngl from that interaction alone, niiyama's ace and tanaka have more chemistry already kskdd
-takeda 💚 so reliable
-shimizu backstory 🫡🫡 ok sporty queen! i love her sm! if we have our main characters hinata and kageyama for example with such passion and dedication for volleyball, we also have kiyoko representing the other end of the spectrum: there really doesnt have to be a grand meaning in deciding to start things, the meaning can arrive (or be developed) in the process, and both are valid!
-tsubakihara academy optimism kings
-this volume is basically jitters! and stuff outside playing vb. Sometimes u just miss them interacting outside the court

- Kageyama is so autistic coded! His hyper-fixation on volleyball, his trouble understanding jokes, trouble communicating/understanding emotions and not liking how tape feels on his fingers - The New Years Day chapter💗💗💗 - I LOVE DAICHI💗💗💗 - There’s a little bit of fan service in this volume but it’s more tasteful than I expected. Especially because all the female characters are minors but it’s not too graphic/gratuitous. Plus there’s going to be a bath house scene with the boys and we see Hinata’s whole ass so I guess it’s equal opportunities fan service ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - Omg Amanai, Komori and Sakusa sightings!! - Kiyoko finally getting some screen time! - Ok here we go!! Time for the first game of the tournament!!!

With the arrival of all the qualifier teams at Tokyo Gym, Japanet Cup National Spring High School Volleyball Tournament has begun!
All the teams at the National Tourney are powerhouses who've beaten other powerhouses to reach here. What remains to be seen is which powerhouse will come out on top after leaving others in the dust.
Woohoo, the real cheering starts now! Have you picked your favourite squad yet?!
Have you ever seen such flawless development for Kinoshita and Kiyoko, along with plentiful character interactions that bless your crops, that you almost start weeping? I didn't think so until I read this volume.
