This is BOOK #27 in the Ghosts of Culloden Moor series. Read THE GATHERING FIRST and most of the others can be read in any order.
How can you fill a void the size of a Highlander? As if in answer to a prayer, a brawny Scotsman walks out of the mist near Angel’s restaurant ready and willing to help, but only for a day or two. After a while, though, he’s clearly too good to be true. And when the time comes for Finlay to walk out of her life again, she’s worried that the peace she’s always cherished will turn into good old-fashioned loneliness. To see into the future is a wondrous, terrible curse... Fin believes he was meant to help Angel face her impending loss, but the lass bucks Fate at every turn. He fears he might be the first ghost from Culloden Moor to fail his quest, and when catastrophe looms, he must expose his true nature or many will perish. But if he does, Angel will remember him only as a madman.
This is book 27 in the series. You will want to read the first short story, The Gathering, for the background information on the Muir witch before you start the rest of the series. After that, each one can be read as a standalone.
I continue to be impressed with this series. I loved Fin’s story. I can’t wait to learn what he knows about how Soni’s future and what helping the 79 ghost 👻 is costing her.
Not every highlander finds their quest to save someone easy. Finley for sure has more than enough challenges when dealing with Angel Mott. However the more interesting backstory is Finlay and Soncerae and the "wee witch's fate. Only Finley knows for sure and his lips are sealed. The secret is yet to unfold.
Another triumph from L.L. Muir. I doubt that all of these ghosts who were probably undernourished like their families were would be built like Arnold Schwartzenegger. but I guess that's part of the formula this series follows. I am intrigued by the fate Fin sees for Soni and the price she will pay for losing her heart to the 79 ghosts.
I really enjoyed this story especially since I have a personal connection to the name Haggard and love the Idaho Falls/Jackson Hole area. It was interesting to learn a bit more about Soni as well. Although these stories do not need to be read in order, I would highly recommend that you do start at the beginning.
Very wonderful romance between the two characters. I enjoyed the story and the mystery behind it. It doesn't make one think, Is there such a thing as fate? Do we have freewill That will allow us to make choices about the outcome of our lives? You are there in this book seems to think That we do. I tend to agree.
I always know a good read if it can make me cry or laugh! This has both. My husband always teases me when I cry over a book but then he truly knows my heart and loves me for it. Thank you Ms Muir for opening my heart by the words you write! I will read all your books because you know how to take us on your journey with you!
I enjoyed reading this story. Each one is so different from the rest, I'm amazed at the creativity. This one is about a lonely restaurant owner and a ghost highlander who had visions of future events. But both clashed in each of their beliefs of fate versus destiny.
