His Lucky Charm

"Clover is my pot of gold and I want to be her rainbow."

Tourists call me The Lucky Irishman.
My friends call me a lucky bastard.
Things always seem to go my way.
After a night of drinking with my brother, we make a bet. A bet that favors me.
He doesn’t seem to think I can stay with one woman for an entire week.
Just because I never have, doesn’t mean I can’t.
We raise the stakes. If I win, I get the land he owns in the Wicklow Mountains.
And that land is all I’ve ever wanted.

Until Clover walks into my life.
She’s here in Ireland chasing rainbows, trying to turn her luck around.
It doesn’t take long to see that this girl isn’t the end of me—she’s the beginning.
But while I have the luck of the Irish, Clover doesn't …. and getting her to open up to me is no easy task.

When she finds out the real reason I brought her to my place in the woods I know she’s going to run.
I need to find the rainbow she’s chasing before my luck runs out.

Dear Reader,
It’s your lucky day! This Irish mountain man is the complete package. Emphasis on package. This is a filthy-sweet romp in the woods that will have you looking for leprechauns and rainbows. Get ready, baby cakes, you’re about to get shamrocked. xo, frankie

RATING 4.5 STARS

His Lucky Charm is by Frankie Love. I picked this book because for one thing, I love Frankie Love’s books. And it seemed like a perfect St. Patrick’s Day read. Well, it really, really was! I just fell in love with this one.

Conor McGregor lives in Ireland and seems to always have the luck of the Irish on his side. He works for himself running his business, The Lucky Irishman Tour Company. He lives in a barn that has been transformed into a quaint cabin up on the mountain. He’s just thirty minutes from Dublin where his brother and also his best friend works in the financial district. The property Conor lives on, though, belongs to his brother. When their parents passed, they left Conor his mother’s Claddagh ring and left his brother the property.

claddagh ring:

Conor has never kept a woman around for more than one night. He just hasn’t wanted to. So after a night of drinking at a pub in Dublin, his brother and friend make a bet with him. They will choose a woman and in one week, ending on St. Patrick’s Day, she has to have fallen in love with him. If he wins, he will get the property. If he loses, he will lose the ring. The woman they choose is Clover.

bad luck:

Clover O’Malley is anything but lucky. Nothing ever goes her way. Her luck is full of ladders and black cats and broken mirrors. She’s come to Ireland from America to find and photograph a rainbow. This rainbow will be the start of something new for her, it will turn her luck. Because things couldn’t get much worse. In the pub, when the good looking guy sat next to her, she couldn’t help but to like him, even though he was using every cheesy line there was. Maybe her luck was turning because it turns out that the reservation she has for the next day with a tour guide is none other than him!

“I’m chasing rainbows, but I’m scared I’m just going to end up lost.”

rainbow and a pot of gold:

These two together were hotter than hot. Their initial attraction might have been physical but it quickly changed into something else.

“Clover is unrestrained, untethered, I truly feel as if I’ve met my match.”

Clover broke my heart. Perhaps some of it was her own doing but her luck really was bad. After she met Conor, you could just feel her waiting for something bad to happen.

“Clover, what just happened here, that wasn’t just luck.”
“No?”
“It wasn’t luck, lassie. That was perfection.”

four leaf clover:

Conor falls for Clover hard. This is all uncharted territory for him. And he’s so afraid that when she finds out about the initial bet, she will run. How can he convince her that it only started out with a bet? That his feelings are real and true? How can he keep her from leaving?

This story is hot as heck and so darn cute. Conor may have been a bit of a man whore to start with but you can’t help but love him anyway. Especially the way he falls for Clover. And I loved Clover. The ending was perfect. Once again Frankie Love has made me sigh and smile and filled me with warm and fuzzies. This is a perfect book for the holiday and I’m so glad I picked it up.

“I don’t want to run anymore. It’s like, the moment I walked toward the unknown, the scary, the Conor, I found something life changing.

I found him.”

Maybe it's just me or my mood but the H was annoying the shit out of me and that's pretty rare. On EVERY page I read which granted wasn't a lot, he is talking or thinking about all of the women he screws. I am not sensitive to this before the H and h meet but c'mon a different chick EVERY night. Whatever lol. I'd be afraid of his man bits getting near my lady bits.

This Irish read was just... meh... so-so for me.

description

descriptiondescription

** 2 Seductive Lip Bites **

This was a short read... like, around 120 pages or something. This book length can work sometimes. Other times... not so much. This was a not so much for me. I felt like this book started out really promising but fizzled in the middle. It seemed flakey and forced. I kept wondering why this was being strung out. I would have much preferred this to be a spicy little super short read rather than have the filler in the middle that left me feeling blah.

description

I got so tired of reading about the h, Clover, and her "bad luck". Gotta be honest, I wasn't really sure where the "bad luck" theory for her was coming from... just because I don't know... seemed overdone.

description

Another thing that seemed overdone... the H, Coner, and the never-ending string of ladies who've been for a "romp in the woods" with him. Alright, we get it, you're a manwhore. It's cool... I really don't care about your whoring past, as long as you aren't pulling that shit while you're with the h. But, seriously, once it's out there, just let it drop already.

description

I liked the idea of the story. There are some steamy scenes in this book that were a delight to read. *wink* Loved the Irish backdrop and it fit perfectly with my "Irish Reads" week. Like I said, it started out so promising... unfortunately, for me, it just fell a bit short.

What a delightful romance with a few wee bumps in the road. The author has written a terrific story with characters (Clover and Conor) that you just want to hug and get lost with. Clover comes to Ireland in search of “rainbows”; well in actuality to try and change her life around. Seems like everything in her life has been going wrong of late. Conor is happy as a lark, giving tours of his homeland by day and having a new girl in his bed every night. Settling down is not in his plans no matter how much his parents had wanted that for him. All he wants is the land he covets (that his brother owns) and his Happy go Lucky way of life.

But life has a way of throwing you curveballs. Especially when miss unlucky meets mr lucky. This book will have you laughing at their antics, sighing at the tenderness and wanting to bopped them both when you know things are going off track. But one thing I can safely say is I loved the storyline and I highly recommended reading this wonderful book about a Lucky Irish Mountain Man. 2 Thumbs Up!

Title: His Lucky Charm
Author: Frankie Love

4 unexpected stars

Sometimes i come across a book of Frankie Love's and it touches me in a way that I didn't expect and His Lucky Charm happens to be one of them. The first i read from her Irish Mountain Man series, it recounts the story of Conor, a man who loves being with women without the strings that come with any relationship. But when a bet with his brother which he intends on winning comes into play, he's forced to change his habits and sets his eyes on Clover, a woman as unlucky as can be. Conor wants to turn their luck around, but will emotions become a problem?

4 breath taking dreams

I'll have to admit that this series is completely different from the Mountain Man series and I enjoyed it much more than i could have imagines. It had more of a 'what happens, happens' feeling compared to "i'm looking for a family, wife and babies', which captivated my attention from start to finish. I can only hope that there will be more Irish Mountain Man novels in the future since they are an absolute treat to watch fall in love!

Frankie love and her bearded mountain men are always great for the soul. Clover has been down on her luck, after traveling to Ireland she is excited to get the perfect picture of a rainbow also hoping that it will bring her good luck. Conor also was known as Lucky is always up on his luck something Clover needs when he makes a bet with his brother about staying with one girl for a week he knows it could be down especially someone as great as clover. Little did he know that in such a short time that he will find the one he wants to spend his time with. Clover might be the on vacation but she feels there is no reason to stay unless Coner decides to confess his love for her. When she finds out about the bet, it leaves her hurt but Coner refuses to let her go and he knows he will get her back because his name isn't Lucky Irishman for nothing.

With St. Patrick's Day coming up, I thought what the heck. How about a little Irish humor. Sadly, this story was just okay.

Lucky makes a bet with his brother that he can stay with the same woman for a week. Clover is in Ireland trying to change her luck and ends up being the lady Lucky's brother picks.

Clover wore me out. She's one of the most insecure characters I've ever read and was so negative it was hard to read. She doesn't even attempt to see the positive of a situation. The shining star was Lucky who's laid back and carefree. Unfortunately he wasn't lucky enough to save this story.

WOW

I give this book 5 stars. I whole heartedly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down. The storyline between Clover and Conor will make you laugh, cry, angry and betrayed. But I love a HEA ending.

I absolutely love holiday related books! They get me in the festive mood no matter what!

Conor is the lucky Irishman in all ways. With his tourist company The Lucky Irishman he's got fresh pickings of women daily. On top of that after he gives them a tour he never has to see the women again. The only thing he's ever wanted was the land on Wicklow Mountains, but that belongs to his brother. When he has the possibility of getting the land within his grasp he'll do whatever necessary.
Until he gets to know Clover.

Although her name is Clover, she's down on her luck. Her boyfriend cheated on her, she's lost her apartment, and her job seems to be a joke. With a trip to try and chase her luck she finds a man who can help her find the rainbows she's chasing.

Will Clover finally find the pot of gold she's looking for? Does the best with Conor's brother ruin a possible happiness?

I volunteered to review an ARC in order to provide an honest review. I loved this story so much that it made me move Ireland further up on my list of countries to visit. Clover and Conor seemed like an unlikely pair but by missing similar things in life, they fit together perfectly. Great read!

A very quick, fast paced love story set in Ireland. Clover and Conor's wild insta-love story will make you laugh and pant. The entire span of the story is literally 5 days. Completely unrealistic, BUT, still enjoyed it.

Great book Frankie! Conor's not my favorite mountain man, but he has secured himself into the #2 spot. I think we can all see Clover in ourselves as we're trying to find our path. It has an equal sticky sweet and hotness. I think this is very well written and does a great job of telling their story.

I love everything related to Ireland and I certainly adored Conor. He is always happy and living the life he wants..the only thing he wants is his brother’s land..so when the bet come and he bargains for it, he is ready to win..but he didn't count on Clover, the unluckiest girl he ever met and so amazing he finally starts to think he might keep her.
The story was delightful, funny, snarky banter, hot hot hot, sweet too.
I love both conor and clover and their quest to chase "rainbows" and the famous irish luck.

So you can't blame me for imagining the cereal with that title right? This is my first book by this author and yes that title and the Irish part caught my eye. A quick fun read with interesting characters and plot. An Irish man and a tourist looking for rainbows. Conor is hot and cocky guy who likes the ladies. Clover has been down kn her luck. Together with few mishaps along the way to find that pot of gold. Fast paced and appealing, it was a pleasant and enjoyable read. It had the Insta-Love and HEA formula that is well liked along with some humor too.

His Lucky Charm is a sweet and sexy story about life, love and luck.

Clover is not a lucky one. She's sassy, a little salty, and hopeful. Clover has come to Ireland in search of her luck.

Conor. Conor is that dreamy, sexy Irishman you hope to find. He's easy going, sharp as a tack, and not looking for love in the least bit.

His Lucky Charm was a fast read, you immerse yourself in the vivid descriptions of the Irish countryside. You feel like you're there in the thick of it with Clover and Conor. The beautifully crafted love story is a fun romp in Ireland. Highly recommended for a reader looking for a light on angst, high on sexy times book with a dash of laughter.

Frankie Love has done it again. Her mountain men books are some of my favorite stories. It is a quick fun read with great characters who have chemistry. Clover and Conor are the perfect compliment to each other and it was a joy to watch Clover discover her path. I am never disappointed in one of Frankie's books and when I want a love story that is sweet, sexy and has a bit a humor she is one of the authors I don't hesitate to read.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy provided to me by the author.

Frankie Love you did it again. This was pure romance. Clover and Conner realize life is full of color and is not just black and white as they find true love with each other. This story had me laughing out loud and sighing with happiness. Another great read that I highly recommend.

Rainbows, a sassy but damaged heroine, and a sexy bearded Irish mountain man who is good with his hands. Conor and Clover were such great characters, both with their own difficult pasts to overcome. I enjoyed seeing Conor show Clover Ireland's beautiful countryside and moving forward from his serial one-night stand past. Some of my favorite parts were the scenes where Conor was laughing and enjoying time with his bother and best friend. I kind of hope Frankie writes more Irish mountain man stories about Sean and Patrick.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Alright, now who doesn't love a sexy Irishman?? I know I do!! Especially when he's a man like Conor. I could've easily climbed this guy like a pole after getting to know the man behind the initial flirty, devil may care, attitude that he gives Clover.
Although I didn't exactly agree with the way that these two got together, given that Conor was basically deceiving Clover from the very beginning, I quickly learned that while their relationship started as a casual fling, it had without a doubt turned into something deeper very fast.
Clover when into the thing between them with her walls up, and I absolutely understood why. My heart broke for her that she'd had such a crappy time in her life, and that she literally felt that she was nothing but bad luck. I hated it. She was such a phenomenal girl- to have picked up her life, and flown half way around the world, just to see a rainbow, yeah, that's a chick I wanna know. So, I wanted her to finally get that piece of happiness that she was so overdue for.
I just had no idea that it would come in the form of Conor, the now reformed man whore, that fell hard and fast for his sweet Clover. But, I am so glad that it did.
Frankie Love did a great job with this book, much like all of hers that I have read so far. I can't say anything bad about it, and recommend it to anyone looking for a little Irish magic and luck for this St. Patrick's Day!!
5 stars!!

Clover is a wandering tourist in search of some rainbows she can photograph. She left her down-on-luck life in America in hopes of finding some of her own luck in Ireland. She has to-right? Her name is clover, she's searching for rainbows, and in Ireland.
While stopping for a drink in a bar in town-where she has had no luck, in Ireland thus far, she meets Conor. Conor is known around the mountain as extremely lucky-not only with the ladies. He conveniently owns and operates a tour company for people looking to explore the mountain-and to find their own rainbows. Conor is hit with a proposition from his brother-giving him the land he has always desired if he can get Clover to fall in love with him in a weeks time. In quite possibly the most whirlwind pick up, Clover finds herself at Conor's home, after he most simply asks her for a "romp" in the woods. The romp turns into a playful relationship between the two as they are in search for Clovers rainbow. As Conor finds himself really falling for Clover-he's left with telling Her the truth about why he brought her home from the bar. Clover obviously does not take the truth well, but the luck of the Irish, and unexpected love brings these two back together.
The main issue I had with this book was the rambling that went on in the characters head before they would enter into dialogue with other characters. There was a lot of thinking before a character said something- and found myself saying "spit it out!" almost every time a character spoke.
Another issue that I had with this book, was the heroine's extremely vulgar language. From the very beginning, from her very long internal monologue, we think she's a "strong independent woman" that will put up a fight when an Irish man asks her for a romp in the woods. There isn't a fight at all, and she concedes very quickly. It's one thing for the female character to be extremely bold, but bold doesn't even scratch the surface for Clovers mouth during the "romp" scenes. Her language set me completely off, and left the scenes completely tasteless.

“I need to find the rainbow she’s chasing before my luck runs out”

This was such a sweet, and cute book!! The way Conor and Clover were with each other was amazing. When I first began to read this I was intrigued, I also was a bit annoyed with Conor. He needed a slap on the head and realize that not everything he thought or did was right. Clover in the other hand captured my heart from the start, she is sweet, funny, and has a huge heart.

This book is about two people learning how to give love a chance, love that wasn’t expected. What starts off as a bet and a deal, ends up being something so beautiful and amazing that will have your heart beating so fast. This is the first book I read from Frankie Love, I wasn’t sure what to expect; I just knew that the blurb was catchy and sounded like a good book. Once I finished reading His Lucky Charm I knew that this wasn’t going to be the last book I read from Frankie Love. The writing was really good and the chemistry between Clover and Conor was just amazing.

If you’re looking for a good and sweet book then this is a book for you. Congrats Frankie on this great book…

Frankie Love has delivered a gem of book with His Lucky Charm: An Irish Mountain Man. I was hooked from the first sentence and just fell deeper in love with Conor and Clover as I got further into the story. Conor is luckies man in Ireland, so lucky in fact that he makes his living showing tourist rainbow, shamrocks and what ever else they came to Ireland to find but there is one thing he wants that he doesn't have and that's his parents land in the Mountains. Clover travels to Ireland to find a rainbow and after weeks of touring the country side with no luck she decides to enlist the help of The Lucky Irishman tourist company to her find her rainbow. The chemistry that Conor and Clover have is light and fun and brings a playfulness to this story that I really enjoyed.

The perfect read for St. Patty's Day! Conor is the lucky Irishman who's brother doesn't think he will ever settle down. So what happens you ask? A bet is made. Conor had to spend one week with a woman to get what he has wanted forever. What Conor didn't expect was to fall head over heals in love with the girl his brother choose.

This is a perfect insta-love romance that has you falling in love with Conor and Clover, as the navigate through their new found relationship in search of their HEA.

I hope we see more from Sean and Patrick as these two need some love in their lives as well.
