I can't recommend Beyond Tomorrow and the Riley's Journey series enough. Wow. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. (It was like watching a movie, "No, I can't look!"). Everything about this book and the series feels so real you forget you are reading a book. You are right there with the characters as the drama unfolds. This is THE BEST time travel story I've ever read and the one of the best sci-fi stories/romances. You HAVE to read this book and this series. But start with book one, Riley's Journey.

Rachel is part of a group, one that has traveled back in time forty-thousand years. She yearns for a love of her own, but the single men of her tribe feel more like brothers and co-workers than potential mates. A moment of carelessness on her side leads to her capture by their greatest enemy the savage cannibalistic Cro. Being rescued by the enigmatic and primitive Hawk may just lead to the beginning of realizing her dream. First, she will have to deal with the cultural misunderstandings that crop up.
Hawk is a warrior of his clan who has been entrusted with a special task and package from a dying elder. He searches to find the strangers whom the elder speaks of, not sure if his stories are actually true. After finding them, he stays to observe before approaching, enough to see the beautiful and independent Rachel for the first time. Little does he know that making contact will cause big changes in the life he knows. Those changes will involve Rachel, to whom he is drawn, even if she confuses him at times.
The tribe nears the end of its preparations to find a new place to live, across the ocean and far away from the invading Cro. After a tragedy close to home, Hawk decides to return to join the strangers and help. The journey to safety will be full of hazards, lost allies an angry storm, not to mention avoiding the savage Cro that are only a few. Through it all is the story of Rachel and Hawk's love. Will it survive with them coming from two different worlds and the miscommunications that threaten it?
This story has romance, action and suspense, all with detailed imagery. The setting and characters are tangible with lush, in-depth descriptions that immerse readers into the story. Along with adding a little humor, the miscommunications between Hawk, Rachel and their assumptions about each other could be frustrating at times. This book is the third of a series, but can stand alone, if you want to learn more about how the tribe reaches this point, I would read the first two books in the series.

In a world of the past, reminiscent of Clan of the Cave Bear, a young man has wandered in search of a fabled tribe, where women hunt and men light fires and peoples work together. Meanwhile a woman called Rachel from the present day (or near-future) really should know better than to wander outside the camp alone.
Hawk’s world and Rachel’s are very different, giving rise to interesting misinterpretations and arguments when their paths finally cross. But Hawk carries a secret and Rachel has a longing for someone to love—someone who doesn’t just feel like a coworker trapped in the same time and place. A nice contrast of the natives’ halting English with modern-day colloquialisms creates vivid and sometimes amusing dialog. Meanwhile contrasting ways of life and ill-formed assumptions build tension, even as the protagonists’ romantic feelings grow. Soon both characters are “torn between two worlds: the one [they] knew and the one [they] wanted.”
The author creates societies of time-traveler and native with equal conviction, and internal dialog adds pleasing authenticity to the characters. But there’s far more than romance to entice in this tale. Wild men attack and valiant travelers struggle to survive. Separated lovers mourn. Allies die. And plans are made.
A fun, exciting story, Beyond Tomorrow creates a believable and enticing yesterday from bleak predictions of tomorrow and keeps the reader entranced until the final page.

A very good finish to an outstanding series; read Riley's Journey and Into the Savage Dawn before Beyond Tomorrow. Parker does time travel very well; try Fiona and Amiee's Locket.

Another winner!
I was hooked from Rileys Journey, had to find out how it was all going to end. I have to say the ending took me totally by surprise!

Interesting conclusion
Alternate universe, time travel, survival, romance
Tries hard to force modern monogamy into primitive settings, and even while being friendly, they still don't see their friends as equals or as potential partners. Snow was tragic, but a symptom of separation. And the author portrays them as less intelligent instead of less educated. What was an escape for two novels changes completely at the end. The worries about messing with the timeline don't make sense if the other groups escaped into the past in order to do things better the second around. Yes, several issues raised and dismissed in a matter of pages. I also thought this was a trilogy, and now learn there is a book 4.
I also thought that the exiles would be more prolific. Three babies in four years? Between all the couples?
Just stumbled upon a scientific paper from 2004. They found signs of habitation and stone tools near Savannah, Georgia from around 50,000 years ago. So, yeah. I've already mentioned about the disaster that hits North America around 12,800 years ago. Not sure when, but proof of sailing tech has been around since at least 60,000 years.
Onto book 4?

Lame
This was the ending of the trilogy and I kind of felt jipped. I mean here we are keeping up with Riley and her band of survivors only to be left with them meeting up with more people. There was really no ending. I thought this was supposed to be about Riley and we went off with different characters. I didn't mind that but I did mind that we don't know what happens and the other characters are just left.

Perfect!
What a great ending to this series! I loved the characters. This amazing journey shows the strength of the characters, how they adapt, cope, and survive. The formation of each couple was unique. I loved how they forged their relationships with each other and with the people of that time!

Beyond Tomorrow
P. L. Parker please don’t stop writing. I love your books. They are so interesting and I hate to put them down. I feel as I’m with the characters. To think to live forty thousand years into the past and then deciding not to go home when they had the chance.

In Part 3 of this trilogy, the story gets even better. The action and conflict is so good. I was transported thru time.
I would like for a fourth book. Rachel got in my nerves sometimes. Hawk was HOT! I love the direction this story is heading.
