Every Love Story is Beautiful, But Ours is Hood

Rate this book
From birth, the Savage brothers were taught by their father, Deuce, that life is like a sandwich; any way you flip it, the bread comes first. They were taught to get money, not fall in love, so they left a wreckage of broken hearts on their road to getting money. Yet, now, as mature men, they realize that you’re not rich until you have something that money can’t buy. And money certainly cannot buy the women that have stolen these brothers’ hard and stubborn hearts.
Taye “City” Savage and Akira White’s love story started in the projects. Ten years ago, they met when Akira was only a young girl and City was a grown man getting his hustle started. City and Akira’s bond was strong, and their fate was inevitable, so they thought. However, before their bound could be sealed, life happened. They were torn apart by unimaginable circumstances, and they never saw one another again until a decade later. Yet, by that time, both City and Akira were involved, but they weren’t so loyal to Nova and Davion that they could ignore the passion in their hearts that they still harbored for one another.
The only thing that ever mattered to Keandre “Money” Savage was the hustle. He had never fallen in love, not even with his girlfriend of five years, Zoe Moore. Money and Zoe had the typical hood love that involved lots of fussing, fighting, and other women. Yet, Zoe was the only one in the relationship that was in love. Money only kept her by his side because she was the last woman standing. Along the way, he had ruined Zoe with every woman that he cheated on her with, and every lie he told. Now, Money is finally ready to shed his immature ways and settle down. Yet, Zoe finds herself in a desperate state of mind when she realizes that she is not the woman that Money has chosen to settle down with.
Shamar Savages’ only love has been his love for art. When his brothers financed his baby, Savage Ink, his only focus was his tattoo shop. Yet, he soon realizes that despite not even wanting it, he was falling for his friend and frequent dip, Taraji Green. However, Taraji had the same mindset as Shamar. Her only focus was becoming the baddest hair stylist in Chicago; not love. The last thing she wanted was a committed relationship with anyone, not even one of the infamous Savage brothers.
Sometimes, the last thing a person wants to do is fall in love, but love sucks them in any way. That is exactly what happens with these Savage brothers and the women that adore them. As life always has it, love ain’t that easy to obtain, especially when loving a man that was raised by the streets and whose first love is the hustle. In yet another urban tale by Jessica N. Watkins, death, sex, and chaos leads to unforeseen tragedy and unexpected love.

Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. She hopes that The Epitome of Femistry series will successfully emulate ideal femininity while tackling stereotypes, familiar heartache, and relatable distress in a humorous, sophisticated, and erotic fashion.

Not sure if I enjoyed this one or not. At times it was annoying because all they really had in all the couples was sex. The ending with City really made it seem like he was all talk, Shon seemed like he was a bit responsible with what he did for Bliss but the animosity with his brothers and what his mother said seemed like he couldn’t stand on his own. Money was dead wrong but both Bliss and Zoe were stupid for going along with it. Okay I guess, the only relationship I thought was going somewhere was Shamar and Taraji.

It was ok

First of all I HATE MONEY, I know it’s Zoe fault for getting high but you drove her to do it. Money is a weak man who deserves all the bad luck that comes his way for treating someone who loves him so wrong. I can’t stand Shamar and that girl he like, I skipped past all of their names. I hope akira get her man city and her father stay out they business. I can’t stand bliss. Shon should wifed Zoe cause they go right together, more than money, I hope Zoe get herself together and let money no good self go. I don’t think I read a book where I skipped through so many people chapters.

Miss. Watkins, I need more, so substantially more. It was my first time perusing from this creator, yet it certainly won't be my last. From the second my eyes fell on the page, I adored how This creator keeps you drawn in and needs many pages. I LOVE first individual stories like this. Seeing what they see from their perspective is astonishing! Akira wow! That young lady had it harsh toward the start of the book. I was so happy she murdered her mom since I genuinely needed to bounce through my screen and take her out. After ten years, she was a horrible mother! I was glad to see that Akira was finally getting through everything she been through to have a destiny, saying, I will offer you a chance at the genuine article. The city is baby! I cherished that he wasn't attempting to have intercourse with Akira when she was youthful, yet abhorred that he picked Nova before all else. She wasn't sh!t. Nova is a dusty, grimy bird like her amigo Zoe. Dramatization and trickery were all she composed. This book truly is extreme. It will have you brimming with wonder, then out of nowhere give you fulfillment from each word.

OMG The Sage men are something else. City is the man and I'm hoping Akira finds out about her scheming dad if it's not too late. Zoe and her hype antics. I'm ready for her and Shon's secret to come out. Please let Bliss be ok she was Money needs. I can't believe Nova's ole snake tail. I hope she gets what is coming to her. Great Job

👎🏿

This one is a no for me. All the characters are boring and seem slow. Like what is anybody doing with their lives. None of the women except for nova and Taraji had anything going for themselves. Akira’s character was boring as heck, and I didn’t feel any chemistry between her and City. He was boring as heck too. I wasn’t too interested in anybody’s storyline and the story just kept jumping and had unnecessary chapters. All akira’s chapters were the same, because she had no life she didn’t even go shopping like she claimed to do, and did she really have friends? Bliss was boring and had nothing going for herself. Why didn’t she get her own place? How do u agree to live in the same spot as your baby daddy that you’re clearly not over and his girl? EVERYBODY WAS DUMB ASL IN THIS BOOK… and I did not finish it.

This was such a captivating story! It’s all about three brothers who are dealing with their own relationship challenges. Each of them has unique issues with their connections to others. 🤔 I honestly didn’t see the ending coming, and I’m really curious to find out what happens next! As always, this is To Be Continued (TBC).

The age gap…

I could not finish this book. I made it to the introduction of Zoe & knew this wasn’t for me. I was very disturbed by Akira being 14 years old and then to get to Zoe and her being a minor when she met Money as well.. it’s a no for me sorry, grown men shouldn’t be turned on or attracted to children.

Waste of time

Based on reviews I was expecting a lot but received little in return. Where do I start? First, there was so many characters in this book that I had to stop each time and think about who the focus was on at the top of each chapter. Authors: Keep it simple with these characters that have no real storyline! Second, I was super disappointed with how Zoe’s character entered the scene and then played out. She was brought in for the reader to sympathize with (almost the protagonist) but then somehow became sour (antagonist almost). Long story short she had been ride or die only to get shitted on and left for a baby mama. Authors: We who read your books live in some of these realities every day. Let us live a little through your writing. Zoe should’ve been able to bounce back from a weak man like Money. The fact that nobody held him accountable for his actions make City, Shon, and the other brother look weaker than Money. Bliss shouldn’t even feel like a winner in the situation but again the storyline wasn’t there for me to feel like any of this was real. City and Akira had the strongest storyline but it wasn’t enough. Taraji and Shamar storyline was so basic I skipped it every chance I could. Moral of the story....there’s a part 2 that I have no desire to read! Invest in thinking outside the box.

Even Savages Need Love

This story is definitely true to it's title. The Savages' are their last name, but at the same time they want love like the next 9 to 5 dude. You can be hard body and still love. Taye 'City' Savage was the perfect example of a goon in love. City is the protector, some what of a Gentle giant, but don't get it twisted, and Nova had to learn that. City didn't care about the life, he want that lay up all day hood love. The books takes you through a whirlwind of gangstas in love and just when things seems to go right....boom..your cursing them out. Shamar and Taraji may be my favorite characters in the story. Their hearts are in such a constant battle, one day they mix the next day they could kill each other. Zoe and Shon *palms forehead* they are both in a boat load of crap. Reggie is a real life creep, ole 4 page letter writing clown. I knew this story was getting to good to be true. I was all up in arms about the relationships coiming together and then boom, it was like sit back bih. I was wondering when the Dad was going to show his tail and dang gone it, he messed up the while vibe, uuuuggggg. Part 2 is going to be a bloodbath. Oh and Nova she got life all the way twisted, that Savage revenge is going to something else.

OMG

I don't even know where to start. I don't like Nova, BUT she is most definitely that bitch! I hope Akira and City work out. Her pops is sooo wrong for doing her like that. I think Neko and Davion are messing around. They " hang out" to much for my liking. Shon is a snake and it's sad b/c his brothers love him and have his best interest at heart. Money is..... you can break Bliss's ❤️ for Zoe but you can't break Zoe's for Bliss. I hope she leave's him alone. This book was sooo good. The characters and plot flows together so effortlessly. I can't wait for part 2!

Yaaaasssss

This book was just beyond. The drama and deceit omg. Zoe and Nova are on another scale of trifling. Just a mess. Shon knows hecwas wrong for the moves he was making too. Glad that Bliss finally stood her ground hopefully things workout in her favor though, because it's not looking good for her. Money better open his eyes and see how bad off his "girl" really is. Feel bad for Akira first she loses City to jail, then she had to deal with Davion, then just when she thinks she has City back everything goes left. Seems like she can't catch a break. Hope that things turn around for her.

Good

This story starts out so well with the hero rescuing the one girl who holds his heart. The writer then proceeds to give us a look at the two main characters as they have now become adults.Okay, some where she gets a little side tracked and loses the momentum, but pulls it back when she reunites the main characters. This is good solid story ,but it needs a good editor or a second set of eyes. The typos in story came at moments when you want the scene and the event to be right.Overall a good read and entertaining.

What a family.

The Savage boys appear to have it all, good looks, money and women. Their father is a pimp causing grief to many of the ladies. Drugs, sex and rock n roll. City thought that he was finally getting his girl; however, her father had another idea. Nova was loyal to City but also deceptive. Zoe was a drug user and was sleeping with her boyfriend's brother, Shon. Bliss and Taraji were clueless. There were twists and turns throughout this story. Overall, it was a good book and I can't wait to read part 2 to find out what happens next.

Fourteen Fourteen Fourteen

If I had a dollar for everytime it was mentioned that Akira was fourteen y/o jailbait to nineteen y/o City, I'd be STILL not rich. Lol! 🤑 For real, though, it was mentioned way too many times. There were a few other repetitive mentions, but I liked the book overall.

The other thing was that Nova did kinda deserve a spot within the organization. It would have made more sense if it hadn't been ten long years that she had held down City's "empire."

Will definitely be on to the next in the series.
