I have been reading Debbie Macomber books for at least ten years. She tells stories about people that could be your friend, neighbors, aunts, or sisters. She make her characters real with real successes and real failures. And she does this without a lot of foul language and sex scenes. This book is no different. I could have been Sunshine's neighbor and through her known Beth. I would have wanted to see Beth and Sam make a go of their new relationship. And I would have wanted Sunshine to find happiness. As with all her books, I was totally vested in this one. I feel like I've been given a present when I have a new Debbie Macomber book to read. I would definitely buy this for my elderly Mother or my teenage granddaughter. And what fun we would have discussing it. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for allowing me to read an advance copy for my honest review.

I always grab Debbie Macomber books when I see them on the bookshelf. They never disappoint and this one didn't either. I can't imagine having a mother who is so controlling that I would have to move to another city to get away from her!
It's a good story, set at a really good pace. I enjoyed it very much.

I usually enjoy a Maycomber story but this one fell flat and a bit contrived. Not up to her usual storytelling standards in my book!

Multi-generational story involving past hurts and secrets. Opposites do attract.

Great romantic story with a sweet ending.

Wasn't sure how I felt about this book. Love Debbie Macomber but for some reason this did not sound like her usual books. Or else it was just me. Sometimes you just don't relate or you aren't in the mood. Don't know what but I still feel Debbie's books are always worth reading.

Not my favorite Debbie Macomber book. The characters were shallow and the plot rather predictable. It was sweet, however. A nice read while on a long car ride.
