Melody Grace,

description

I’m not even exaggerating when I say this: Melody Grace’s books just get better and better with each new one that’s published! I can’t wait to meet the rest of the Callahans!!

Unrequited is a short but so satisfying novella and an introduction to Dex and Alicia’s story. If you haven’t read any of this author’s books before, it’s okay to start from here but I’d really recommend reading them in order. Alicia is a side character first introduced in book 2 and this story begins where book 3 ended.

description

I’ve read all the books in this series and the one character that really stood out to me was Alicia. She was always on the sidelines, not really a friend to our previous main characters, but not an outsider either. She’s quiet, reclusive, keeps to herself, yet she has a very successful career. There’s always this air of mystery that surrounds her and nothing seems to be an obstacle for her – except for this unrequited love she has for another guy. I could so relate to Alicia; it’s a very bittersweet feeling to love someone yet know that the person doesn’t feel the same way. And so, she lives a pretty lonely and bland life, that is, until she meets Dex, and all her appearances and defenses just crumble.

To everyone else, Dex is just a famous rockstar and everyone wants a piece of him, but what Dex really wants is to be able to play music in peace – he thrives off of his songs, his music and loathes the attention that comes with it. On top of which, something tragic happened in his past and now he craves music to take his mind out of the darkness. He’s a daredevil, he’s wild, he’s bold, and I love everything that makes up this flawed, broken man.

Alicia and Dex, both people tortured by their pasts, find solace in one another. What started out as a quick, hot interlude turns into something much deeper than they both anticipated.

description

This is seriously one of the best novellas I’ve read! I found this to be the perfect intro to Dex and Alicia’s story – not too short but not long enough that I was bored and waiting for something to happen. It ends on a very high note; I have this super anticipatory feeling and I just know there will be more hot, wicked, & sinful times in the next book about these two. I’ve been sufficiently teased now – give me the next one!

When Alicia steps out to get some air she ends up finding herself in the arms of the stranger. Alicia's never considered herself that kind of girl to be making out with someone she doesn't even know so she finds herself pulling away no matter how sexy this man is.

The next thing Alicia finds though is that her sexy bad boy is none other than Dex Callahan the famous rock star. Dex sees Alicia from the stage as he is performing and becomes determined to get her to give him one night to show Alicia the pleasure she's been denied.

Unrequited really should be billed as any music fan's fantasy come to life upon the pages of this novella. Who really hasn't fantasized over the sexy rock star on the stage at some point? Alicia finds herself in the arms of this bad boy bringing all of her fantasies to life.

Overall, nice little quick read with a sexy male lead and a more timid female that found herself living a fantasy.

Melody Grace, you little tease! You introduce us to the incredibly sexy rocker Dex Callahan in Unrequited and then make us wait till July for more of him. I need more of him now!

Unrequited is part of the Beachwood Bay series, but it's the start of a new direction for the series called The Callahan's. Starting out with, as I said before, the ever sexy, bad boy rocker, Dex Callahan. As a favor Dex agrees to perform a small set after giving up music and fame. At the event he meets Alicia, the good girl who's looks to have it all together. But Alicia has spent years alone, pining away for a man that she's sure doesn't feel the same. One intense encounter in the back ally ignites passion in two strangers that they can't ignore.

Unrequited is a quick, steamy read. It gives a hot introduction to the characters Dex and Alicia. You'll definitely need to pick up Uninhibited once it's out. I know I will because I can't wait to see what is going to happen between these two. Unrequited is another hit from a list of hits for me by Melody Grace.

I received this book in exchange for and honest review.

OMG....I NEED the next book NOW!!!  Let me just say this again...this series just continues to get better and better as it goes along.  Melody has created such a cast of characters that I am completely addicted to this series.  I love that she is expanded to a whole new group of people.  I think I'm going to LOVE The Callahans :). If they are all like Dex then this part if the series is going to be FAN~FREAKING~TASTIC!!!!

This book is a novella and a very quick and steamy read.  It was really only meant to tempt our taste buds and introduce us to Dex and Alicia.  Boy oh boy did she tempt me.  This was a great introduction to the next group of characters.  The writing was typical Melody Grace style, which I love by the way.  She has the ability to create a story that sucks you in.  This short novella has swoon worthy moments, mystery, and a whole lot of steam !!! Like I said this is truly just an introduction, so this book does end on a cliffy but it's not terrible...it just leaves you wanting so much more.  She also gave us enough information to create questions and theories in our minds.

I absolutely love both Alicia and Dex.  I think Alicia is going to be good for Dex and give him a run for his money.  My only concern is that she is in love with someone that we don't know and I really hope that in Uninhibited she learns to let those feelings go and really move forward by giving Dex a try.  As for Dex...who doesn't like a tattooed Rockstar who can make your panties melt.  I think that's enough said...you need to read this and meet him for yourself.

This novella can be read as a standalone from the rest of the series because no other characters are in it and Melody did a great job retelling how we met Alicia and Dex in the book before.  If you have read the other books in this series, then just know...this book takes off right where Unconditional ended!!

I can't say enough great stuff about this series...I seriously could go on and on about it, but what I really want to get across is for you to just READ THIS SERIES...you won't be sorry !!!

"One week. No rules, no limits, just us. I can save you from this unrequited love of yours. And you... you can save me from myself."

In this short novella, we're introduced to Dex-dark, tortured Rock God all wrapped up in leather and regret, and Alicia-sweet, conservative, and drowning in her own desperation. I'm not normally a fan of novellas in general, but as this particular book is basically the introduction to their history and their first meeting, it's a necessary prelude before the main attraction. For a novella, I thought it was well written and was completely successful in hooking me into this couple's story. This was my first read from Melody Grace and I have to say I really connected with the author's style of writing. It was very descriptive, sensual, and kept things moving along at just the right pace.

I really enjoyed Dex-he was the perfect tortured rockstar hero. He had that edge to him, dangerous and decisive and while he was tormented by his past, he didn't mistreat Alicia or disrespect her. She was like a balm to his wounds and he always treated her like she was special.

He's all but dropped out of the public eye after a tragedy occurs, and now, he's giving a rare intimate performance and his nerves are getting the better of him. Music is in his heart and soul-the one thing that makes him truly happy. It sooths him, excites him, and settles him. The crowd, the passion, and the feeling he gets from moving people with his music-it's in his blood and he's feeling lost and adrift without it. He's unable to do what he loves because he blames himself and his selfishness for events in his past. He feels like he doesn't deserve the spotlight anymore.

When Alicia runs out into the alley in tears, he's immediately tempted by her fragility and her soft and natural beauty. But she's the complete opposite of him-what could they possibly have in common?

"I like it safe. Predictable. Easy."
He closes the distance between us in a couple of long strides, until he's standing just inches away. "That's a shame." he whispers, staring down at me with those dark eyes-black as night. Black as sin.
"Danger would sure look good on you."

Alicia is trying to recover from a broken heart. Unrequited love-her friend is getting married and he's officially going to belong to someone else. She's spent years focusing on him and dreaming that one day he would wake up and see what was in front of him. Now, all she's left with is shattered hope and she doesn't know how to move on. When she sees Dex, for the first time, he blocks out the pain and makes her forget. Just for a little while. The passionate kiss they share is like nothing she could have ever imagined and he threatens her safe and comfortable world. But can she resist the freedom and exhilaration she feels in his arms?

Something about his presence is so dominating, his quiet power demanding attention, I can't help but have all my senses filled by him, just him, right here.

And Dex, he's drawn to her goodness, her innocence and honesty. Could she could be the one to pull him out of the dark?

The light of escape in her warm body, the promise of salvation in those sweet lips. If anyone could make me forget my demons, it's her.

They're both looking to forget.
They're both hoping to escape.
Will one night turn into redemption?

This was one steamy book! I loved this little intro to Dex and Alicia!! Yes, maybe it was a tad predictable, but it pushed all my rockstar buttons and caught my interest immediately and held it until the end. I had no problem sinking into this book and enjoyed myself immensely-a solid 4 star read!

I hate when authors write this so-called novellas, but in reality is just a book that was cut in tiny pieces. If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered with this one (although I won't deny that what I read wasn't bad).

"I can save you from this unrequited love of yours. And you... You can save me from myself." -Dex

It's no secret, I fangirl over Melody Grace's Beachwood Bay series! Her writing is crisp and lyrical, her beach setting is beautiful, and her characters both tug at my heartstrings and make me swoon! Basically, as a fan of New Adult, this is one of the better series out there. Now, if you haven't read this series, there will be spoilers from the previous books from here on out.

So if you read Unconditional, you'll have read that last scene between Alicia and Dex, and that is right where this novella starts off. To give you a bit of a backstory, Dex is a former rockstar who's become a recluse. He bailed on Carina and Garrett's open mic night at Garrett's bar, but to make up for it, he agrees to perform at the opening of Jaybird. Alicia, on the other hand, is Hunter's friend from Unafraid, who heads publicity for a company called Jacob Main. They both meet accidentally in an alley behind Jaybird, and sparks fly...literally. It was one of the hottest scenes from the series, and this novella only continued on that.

Basically, both have demons or problems they're running from; for Dex it's his past, for Alicia it's an unrequited love. Still, they take a chance on one another and agree on one night. Much reminiscent of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling's characters in Crazy Stupid Love, they get sidetracked and get to know each other a lot better [though there is some yummy sexy times ;) ]. I really loved Dex and Alicia in this! They're both polar opposite (think sweet meets wild) but the chemistry is there, and it just works! Dex is also deliciously alpha and sure of himself, which was swoon! Even so, their problems are very much still present, and while they don't know how to deal, Dex proposes a plan..one week in Beachwood, just the two of them to forget. Want to know what happens? So do I, so totally add Uninhibited to your TBR, because this novella is just an opening to that.

Even though this is a novella, the plot moves fluidly and it sets up Dex and Alicia's story in a way that you're panting to know what happens next. There's not a cliffhanger but rather an open ending which is much appreciated. Though this forms part of the Beachwood Bay Series, it's the start of new arc for the series, because it's now the Callahans' turn at love. I'm interested to meet Dex siblings, and come on, any excuse to extend this delicious series does right by my book. So yeah, this sexy novella is definitely a great addition to the series. Check it out!

50000xinfinity UNREQUITED STARS!!

Seriously?
Any author than can make me fall effortlessly in love with their SHORT story without ANY complain... Is the fucking best!

I don't know how Melody Grace does it. But the end result always proves just how much I adore her writing and how much I am lucky I took the chance with one of her books for the first time in the past.

Alicia and Dex met in a fucking alley!
Less that 2 minutes top - they're making out like lover's who'd be deprived of sexual release for decades!

Sounds sick right?

Ugh - the way Melody writes makes it anything but!

And the way she makes them connect - revealing both Dex and Alicia's demons yet keeping so much mystery around them. It's bound to have you wanting more!

I'm so glad that July is close enough xD

Dex's filthy mouth is so decadent.
I love how he's so real, how he yearns for Alicia's body - to taste her and take her.
Dammit and the fact that he can cook? Fucking A+

I loved the leap Dex took at the end...and the way he doesn't lie to himself. He's amazing and am looking forward to seeing just how he'll make Alicia forget and for their love, passion and lust to bloom in the upcoming book

Wow I am definitely in vast minority of people who wasn't a fan of this book. It's not that I hated it - the plot was good - rocker meets good girl with a broken heart and it wasn't like I had to force myself to finish it. But I'm not a fan of the writing style. I don't like when authors have a character constantly say they're one thing and then constantly act the complete opposite way - I can't even tell you how many times Alicia says she's 'not that kind of girl' or doesn't act that way and then she immediately does the opposite of what she says. She is also so timid. I like my heroines with some strength and sass. I did like Dex and want to know more about him and his past. The dialogue seemed a bit immature to me too. Who knows - maybe I will like the second book more, this one seemed to be a novella - I finished it in like an hour and I get the idea that book 2 is full length. I want more background and more in depth dialogue. Maybe then this series will hold more promise for me.

LOVED this book! It was short but packed on heck of a punch!
What a great beginning to a promising new series! Melody Grace has a talent for building steamy scenes and awesome characters with class and not vulgarity (which is very rare!). The chemistry between Alicia and Dex was powerful. I was excited that behind the relationship was a hint of mystery surrounding both characters' pasts and it definitely piqued my interest!

I look forward to reading about Alicia and Dex in the next book and am very excited to learn more about the Callahans. Another well done book by Melody Grace.

I hoped this would be better than Untouched, but it wasn't. There was the RAWR RAWR alpha male bad boy manwhore again who shows the innocent, blushing virgin how it's done. idk man, but no thanks. "What we have is real" after knowing each other for like six hours at most? SURE DUDE.

Also, are there no other adjectives to describe a woman than "luscious"? That was used for her lips, hips, and curves in the span of like two pages...

Unrequited is a novella in Melody Grace's new series (sort of) about a girl who is licking her wounds after suffering unrequited love, and a reclusive rock star that is getting back in the spotlight after suffering pain of his own. A good girl who recently got her heart crushed, and a leather-wearing, motorcycle-riding former rock star may seem different on the outside, but they share common ground from deep within. They are both hurting from something, and hope for healing. What they didn't expect was for their lives to cross, or the connection they feel between each other.

Right off the bat, I liked Alicia and I can relate and empathize with her. Unrequited kicked off with an intense make-out scene between Alicia and some hot stranger, and her thoughts about it. I found it a bit comical because she's a goodie-goodie type of girl who doesn't usually partake in this kind of behavior, so it's blush-worthy on her part to be in such a hot and heavy encounter with a stranger. It somehow heightens their connection though. Oh, they did talk some before they found themselves lip-locking outside the bar. She doesn't recognize him at first. It is none other than thee Dex Callahan. A former rock star that dropped off from the face of the earth, and an unexpected make-out/near dry humping encounter on top of that can do that to you. Although Alicia tries to fight whatever is brewing up between them by running for the hills -- or into the bar where said stranger she made out with only minutes ago is performing at -- they find themselves in a bind that calls for an impulsive escape on his motorcycle. Another thing outside of her comfort zone. It is then, after they found a place to hide at, that they get to know more about each other and the heat turns up again.

Readers are treated with a few steamy moments between the two that is a nice little tease for what's to come for Dex and Alicia. It's short yet promising. Our boy Dex is hiding something in his past, and there's more to Alicia's unrequited love with somebody, as well as the other people in her life. Both of which will be explored and revealed throughout the new series. Even though their time together may be short while he's in town, Dex is willing to explore and get to know Alicia more. Alicia on the other hand is half for it -- because how can you resist Dex? -- and half wanting to run far away. She's already hurting, so she doesn't want to risk getting hurt again. What's refreshing and surprised me was that for a (former) rock star, Dex isn't an arrogant, cocky jerk. He has his pain and vulnerability, and the gentleman manner that adds depth to the person he is. He's also an overwhelming alpha either, but he does demand attention by how he carries himself. Usually, insta-love type ticks me off if not done well, and although this isn't exactly insta-love, the connection between them is heady from the get-go. Dex rolls with it and wants to explore it, while Alicia tries to deny it. Signals get mixed due to Alicia and where her feelings currently stands, especially now that Dex is thrown in her path, and the way they misread each other a time or two. But leave it to Dex to risk it just to have Alicia in his arms. The question is, how much is he willing to risk, lose, and fight to keep her?

I enjoyed and took a liking to both Alicia and Dex both individually as well as together. Unrequited is a quick and nice read with undertones of emotion that keeps engaged and yearning for more. And the humor and banter will have you smiling so big, laughing out loud, or blushing. The sexual tension is ever-present and promising for these two. I can't wait to see where they go and end up when their story continues in the next full-length installment, Uninhibited. If you loved the Beachwood Bay series, you will enjoy this series as well.

I'm being 100% serious when I say reading this book sent me into hysterics. I genuinely got secondhand embarrassment from this.

So during our opening scene Alicia runs out of a fancy party to have an anxiety attack in an alleyway outside. Dex shows up, and even though he's a famous musician, she doesn't recognize him because she's not a fan of his band. Dex offers her a smoke and flirts with her for about, like a minute? Probably less. She sends a clear signal that she wants to be left alone and isn't interested in flirting back, and then goes to leave--SO HE GRABS HER AND KISSES HER.

Yeah, he just shoves his tongue down her throat.

Keep in mind, I'm 90% sure he doesn't even know her name at this point. He just grabs a random woman and jumps her in a dark alley at night, and that's our introduction to our 'love interest' lmao.

I can handle love interests taking sexual liberties with one another in fiction. When it's done well. But it's not done well here. None of the characters are self-aware and they don't even acknowledge how out of place and fucking weird it is for that to happen or to do that to someone.

In fact, after the next scene, Alicia APOLOGIZES TO DEX for kissing him back because she's 'not that kind of girl' ... WHAT?!?

Honey, sweetheart, darling... No. Get help. Call a shrink. Call the cops. Filing a restraining order. Move on with your life. But Alicia isn't a normal or sane person, so instead she ignores the friends she came out with, hops on the back of this dangerous stranger's bike, and zips off into the night with him.

Then we learn something happened to one of Dex's friends/bandmates (we're not really told what, but it was probably an overdose) and Dex quit their band and vowed never to play a show again. A promise he intends to keep. Except...he breaks it in the second chapter, before we even learn this is a promise he's made to himself. And later when he thinks about it, we're expected to forget the show he just played or something? Even as he brings it up?

I don't know what the fuck is going on.

The rest of the story consists of their one-night stand, and Alicia crushing on some other guy who is never named, to the point where she slutshames herself for letting Dex eat her out in his brother's fancy apartment because she's not being loyal to the other guy. Who she already knows isn't interested with her and wants nothing to do with her in that way.

Am I supposed to root for these people?

The second the sex scene actually started to get hot it was broken up by Dex's manager calling, trying to do his job, which makes Dex furious. Like, why not fire him if you don't want fame anymore? You're done with your career, right? Why do you retain his services?

In the end it doesn't matter. Nothing does. It ends on a cliffhanger at 79% into the eBook, but I won't continue the series because I never want to encounter these characters again.

It's been some time since I have read a Melody Grace book - I read Unbroken when it first came out and have been so caught up in the many books releasing that I haven't had the opportunity to return to the Beachwood Bay series though after reading Unrequited and Uninhibited - I have to get back and read the books in between ASAP because holy hell these books were so good and HOT!

Unrequited, a novella, opens up to Dex Callahan and Alicia in the alley and sparks they are a flying as we see the first night they met, their instant connection undeniable. This was a short read and leaves us hanging on whether or not Alicia will take it a step further to move on from this unrequited love she suffers from to spend one week with hot rock star Dex who is confident that he can help her forget this love that is not returned. Unrequited was like an appetizer, getting me amped up to know more about these characters.

Thankfully Uninhibited is on my kindle and I can move right into this book to see what will happen with these characters. It's two months later and I finally learn who Alicia is in love with and has been in love with since college though he has no idea of her feelings.

Alicia has had no contact with Dex since their one night together and after learning that the love of her life is getting married, she finally decides that it's her turn to live, to love and to move on. You see, Alicia is so strict and so regimented in her life that she needs this fun week, to let loose and to explore this chemistry that was so unforgettable.

We learn more about Dex in this book, his background, his history and what makes him tick. He is commanding, dominant and sexy as sin. I LOVE that Dex makes Alicia feel wanted, something she has never experienced before, he makes her feel that she matters.

Alicia is a total control freak and as they say opposites attract and Dex brings out her fun side and really shows her how to live life, never pressuring her for more than what she is willing to ask for,

As their week comes to a close, will both Dex and Alicia be able to open up and share their secrets with each other? Will Alicia be able to move on from this unrequited love?

You will have to read this book to find out!

Things I love about Melody Grace:

she knows hot to write HOT and really hot SEX!
her stories are compelling, well written, with characters you immediately gravitate to, wanting to know more
Job well done and I can't wait to read more from this author!

If I don't get my hands on Uninhibited soon (Alicia and Dex's full length novel), I may internally combust. No, really. Because this novella was HAWT. I think Dex may be Melody's baddest, sexiest boy yet! Whew! And good Lord, the man can dirty talk! It was so much fun to watch uptight, good girl Alicia let herself go when she was with him. Both of them have some deeply rooted issues to work through, but their one night of passion and freedom makes them both forget, if only for a little while.

Alicia is pining over a man she cannot have and is suffering from unrequited love. After fleeing a restaurant opening and her friends, she finds herself outside seeking solitude only to come across Dex Callahan, rock god extraordinaire. She doesn't know who he is and she is completely caught off guard by him. (Dex Callahan can push me up against an alley wall and kiss the pants off me ANYDAY.)

Dex has some demons to face himself, though we don't get much insight into what they are. We do know that he was once a popular rock star but he had left his band and still has his manager and others begging for him to come back. Dex loves the feeling of being on stage and completely losing himself in performing, but something happened to make him stay far away and I am intrigued as to what it is. I loved his character. He isn't afraid to say what he feels and he wants Alicia to open up to him and let herself experience what it's like to just let go. She is so wrapped up in the man that she can't have. I was wary of Alicia especially after meeting her in Hunter and Brit's story. I felt really bad for her because she's just so lonely. She sees all her friends together and happy and she's the one that doesn't have that. Being with Dex makes her forget for just a little while and she is embarrassed at how willingly she succumbs to him.

I love that Melody is bringing us a new set of characters and a new series. Dex has two brothers and a sister, so after we get his story, we'll be finding out theirs!

Overall, Unrequited was a steamy short prequel novella for Alicia and Dex and I cannot wait to see how their story plays out, especially after Dex's proposition at the end!

4.5 Fantastic Stars
Review by Allison East

I LOVE MELODY GRACE! I read Unbroken last year, and it was such a great book I kept reading the series. And the books just keep getting better and better. Melody has developed well written books, well thought out plot lines and a fantastic group of characters that grow over time and throughout the series. I think I will love The Callahans. If they are all like Dex, "swoony mcswoon"- I will for sure love this part of the series.

This book is a novella; a hot, quick read. It was really only a taste to introduce Dex and Alicia. And I am like a toddler when I say, I want the next part- NOW! This was a fantastic introduction to the next group of characters. The writing was the Melody Grace style, which is awesome, I was a goner after the first few pages, loved it- and devoured it.

There were so many moments I loved, but these are just the tip of the iceberg. The ending is a bit of a cliffy, but I knew that going in- because the next book- Uninhibited will be the rest of the story.

Alicia and Dex are fantastic characters. I think Alicia will be good for Dex. My thought though is that it insinuates she is in love with someone else, and we don't know who. I hope this doesn't cause any harm to the current situation she has put herself in with Dex. And Dex, yowza, a tattooed, Rock God- hello, do you know who you are talking to?? I love the broken Rock Star!

This novella can be read as a standalone from the rest of the series , but it leaves off where Unconditional ends.

You will love this book and series. Just pick it up- and trust me when I say you won't be sorry!

This novella is about two people who find each other and just might be the others salvation. Alicia finds herself crying outside in the alley and in the arms of a handsome, dark eyed, tattooed stranger. She doesn't know who he is but he makes her lose control and allow him to kiss passionately. She pulls herself away and goes back in to the party she left. Alicia can't believe her eyes when she looks up and the entertainment for the party is the dark eyed stranger, who is none other than Dex Callahan. Rock God! Alicia attempts to run off as soon as he's done playing, but Dex catches up to her and convinces Alicia to leave with him. He knows she is unlike any woman he has ever known and he wants to make her his. Alicia wants this too,but she is still stuck on an unrequited love that will never be. Dex is running from his past and hopes Alicia just might help him forget. Will Alicia be able to let go of her unrequited love and fall into Dax? You must read this book! I can't wait to see how the story continues in Uninhibited!

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review...

Well, Hellllooooo Dex Callahan! Hot - tattooed - Rock God. Do you really need anymore details to read this novella? How about excellent at using his mouth for something other than singing? How about Drama? Dex is definitely hiding something, running from his past. Enter Alicia. Alicia is in love with another man who you met in another Melody Grace Beachwood Bay series book. In this novella, you get a small taste of the chemistry they experience - chemistry that only Melody Grace knows how to write. In the end, a huge question (Yes, a cliffhanger) leaves you wondering which way Alicia will go. Will she choose her past - or new future? We will find out in Uninhibited. And I for one CAN NOT WAIT!

You can start this series with this book and read it as a standalone - but I would recommend starting at the very beginning with Untouched. All of the characters in each book are linked and to truly understand the story, you have to start at the beginning. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!

Full Review posted at Book Lovin' Mamas

Unrequited is a short novella of Alicia and Dex, so there is definitely more to come in the next book with these two. Melody Grace only gave me a taste of what is to come…and I look forward to finding out what Dex does to get Alicia to open up more. I’m also rooting for Alicia to get over the guy she has been in love with for so long. Melody definitely was very descriptive on how Alicia was feeling, and I just wanted to hug the poor girl…(I know she’s fictional…but she was very heartbroken) =(

I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to New Adult readers out there. You do not have to read the previous Beachwood Bay books to read Unrequited. You can read each books as a standalone. I’m going to go back and read the previous books and count down to Alicia and Dex’s next book. I need more of these two.

** I received an ARC for an honest review **

Okay.. I don't really know what to say. I'm mad. This was so short! ( I know it's a novella!) I LOVED it! I loved Dex! It was smoking hot.

"I've never been kissed like this, not even close.."

I read this in about 4 hours. At work. Don't judge. Haha! I adore Melody Grace, and I had the worst book hangover after reading Unbroken, this will definitely be the same way. I can not wait to finish their story, and learn their secrets. Something is going on, and I want to know what! I love her writing style, and I feel like she done a great job placing the characters and their emotions.

"I'm going to feel you break under my tongue.."

I love where this story is going. I love the people of Beachwood Bay! <3

I think this might be my new favorite couple from the Beachwood Bay series! I am so excited to continue their story in Uninhibited. This was just a small tease of Dex and Alicia. Dex, superstar, mega-star, rock star who is running from his demons and just trying to escape a sweet torture that is slowly tearing him apart. Alicia is the definition of good girl, follow the rules, sweet as candy. Together they allow each other one night to escape reality. One night to forget everything; however, that night is shattered by a phone call.

This was a hot, steamy, dreamy read that left me begging for more. What is Alicia running from, will she accept Dex's offer, and will these two be able to heal each other? I can wait for the next one!

One night, full of conflicting emotions, two individuals meet by chance ... This encounter will change their lives forever, but getting to forever will not be easy.

I will admit, I had never read anything by Melody Grace before this novel. It sounded like a great short read and I took the plunge. Now, I feel like I discovered the sun, moon and stars! What a ride! Love her writing style because is so down to Earth. Love her characters, because she describes them as people I might know and recognize in real life. Love her plot line because it is full of humanity and the frailty of feelings.

The story of Dex and Alicia continues in the full novel Uninhibited scheduled for release next week.

"I can save you from this unrequited love of yours. And you... You can save me from myself." -Dex Callahan

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review, and let me start by saying that Melody Grace never disappoints! Unrequited is the story of Dex Callahan and Alicia, both of whom we got to meet briefly in Unconditional. It picks up right from where their brief introduction left off, and what an explosive beginning that was! Their story is so intense, and I can't wait to find out more about both of them in the next book! Dex is so incredibly hot and mysterious---he'll definitely leave you wanting more! Such a great read!

I was gave this Arc for a honest opinion, and her it goes. I just finished it, I Love IT!! I always love the way you start the books, it draws you and hold you on for the ride, cause I know you will enjoy it. Dex is like a hot breeze that Alicia is needing but, don't know it yet. The sparks could be felt between Alicia and Dex the first time they touch. It was so good to get to know them and now we have to try and make it till the next one. I fallen crazy for this series, it just keeps getting better each book. Unrequited was great and now we wait for Uninhibited !! Congrats WOW Another 5 Stars In my opinion!!

It was an average read. The cliffy was not exciting enough for me to spend that much. It did not give me enough to want to read the sequel.

Heroine does some pining for some guy that does not notice her or something. Not sure, but the pining is not for the hero, but some guy the reader does not meet or know nothing about. I am not willing to risk my time that she will not pine all throughout book 2. I hate pining.
