Tiana is a young woman who is just trying to make her way in the world. She is a beautiful singer and thought she would be able to make it with her voice in NYC but that didn’t pan out. She ended up having this bad night that sent her home “in disgrace” to her brother Jayden to live with him. Her brother is a Marine who lives next door to an older Marine who is losing his sight.
After she gets home, disturbing and strange things start happening to her and her brother goes haywire trying to keep her safe. His friend, Drake wants to help is given to stay far away signal from Jayden yet he clearly cant because he thinks he can given his friend and his sister his help. This leads to both Tiana and Drake falling for one another. They try to hide the attraction they each feel for one another from Jayden. There is many twists and turns that come around in this story. I like how this isn’t rushed, it plays out and the suspense builds along with the chemistry and passion between Drake and Tiana. I loved how awesome the epic twist is =which I totally did NOT see coming. I loved the beautiful ending and I very much recommend this book if you like hot romances with a suspense twist.

I voluntarily read an ARC.
This book was astounding.
Drake is a marine with a deep secret he wants to keep hidden.
Tiana is an aspiring singer who wants to make to make it big.
Yet forces bring them together that are far darker than either realize. And when brought to light they may either break them or make them stronger.
The situations in this book are so much like real life that you feel as if you right there watching it all unfold before. you.
This may be my new favorite book by Emerson.
Make sure you check out Commanding Officer as well. It's definitely a must read.

While this book started out well enough, things kind of fell apart and got super weird in the last third of the book. The relationship felt too rushed, as well.

Well this book gives you everything and defiantly keeps you on your toes.
I really enjoyed this book and the only thing I didn't like about it was that it was too short. I felt like the author took time to build the relationship between the H/h and by the time they got together it was the end of the book.
One thing I loved about this book was that just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next I was shocked, it was nothing like I expected and for that I have given it 3 stars.
I loved Drake he was the perfect amount of alpha, protective and caring. Tiana is the perfect match for him and I really wish I got to read more about this couple.
Although it felt like it was over just as it was getting started I would still really recommend this book if you want the typical hot alpha but like twists and turns throughout their story. I will say this book is one that will stick with you once you have finished it.

First I love how an author can create stories that you can actually feel within your soul. Drake is a trained ALPHA that ......... Tiana is a determined singer that has her returning ........ We all have secrets that we do not want exposed but the funny thing about life is that they always come out at the most inopportune time. Will their secrets ruin Drake and Tiana or make them stronger? Will their hopes and dreams come true once their indiscretions come to the light? This story has many obstacles that they must endure. It will leave you swiping right then left to keep up with the ...... I received this advanced reader copy for my honest and unbiased opinion and I have yet to read one of Emerson's books that did not touch me in some form or facet.

Lots of Twist and Turns You will not want to put it down.
I loved reading my very first book by Emerson Rose. It had it all hot dominate Marine males, brotherly love that is just wrong, a night that can’t be remembered but ends up on the internet, moving back home and a stocker.
Tiana is a twenty-five-year-old woman trying to make her way as a singer in NY but that didn’t happen. He had one night that sent her back home to NC to live with her brother. Then she meets his next-door neighbor who is a dominate Marine who she finally founds someone that she can love. The only problem her brother has warned both to stay away from each other but that don’t happen.
Drake is a forty-five-year-old Marine that is going blind and going to have to retire from the military due to it and never stays with a woman for long. He is a player then he meets his best friend, Marine buddy, next door neighbor’s sister. She is everything thing that he wants for a man.

Boy this book had me scratching my head
I knew something was up with Tiana's brother Jayden, but I was not expecting how this book ended. He was just too over the edge protective of his sister. Drake Valentine, Jayden's next door neighbor and best friend, tried his best to stay away from Tiana. They both found themselves so very attracted to each other but Drake was determined to keep her as arms length because of his impending macular degeneration. He did not want to saddle any woman with taking care of him but their love for each other and need to have Tiana in his life over came his reluctance.
I enjoyed reading this book, despite how the brother went over the cliff crazy.

I have followed Emerson Rose and all of her novels from the very beginning. I have loved everything that I have read and not once have I been disappointed.
But Commanding Officer.....Guys I have got to say this is one of the best that I have ever read.
I refuse to give much detail in relation to this novel, because quite frankly it needs to be read without knowing a thing. But I will say this.....
You will meet Drake, Jayden, both military men, best friends.
You will meet Tiana, Jaydens little sister and Drakes new attraction.
These three people worlds are about to collide, and believe me it's off the damn charts.
Raw, gritty, confronting, heart wrenching, sinfully delicious, thought provoking, powerful. emotional.....They are words that come to mind when reflecting back on what I just read.
But the kicker for me was the subject matter. This novel touched on a taboo topic that most of us would cringe at just thinking about it, but Emerson Rose delivered it with such grace and depth that I was incomplete awe and simply couldn't put it down. It was written so beautifully that I couldn't help but be drawn to every word
I cannot recommend Commanding Officer highly enough. If military men with a twist that believe me you will never see coming is your thing then you definitely need to read this.

A constant suspense!!
With this book it had me believing one thing and then it would change completely in a better twist. This story started with a secret that looked 2 be a very hard one 2 accept being a military man and finding a good woman but at the end that was the easiest one 2 handle, the end will completely shock u and u will never expected it is know I didn't

The 2 star rating is for my taste not for the writing. This book is very dark and twisted and that over shadows a couple of the likeable characters and what could have been a good book if the twist had been different. Just not enjoyable for me.

What do you do when the dream you have worked so hard for is finally within your reach but a night you can’t remember takes it all away? You pack your bags, move back home with your overprotective brother, and try not to fell in love with the hot neighbor who also happens to be your brother’s best friend. Sounds good so far right? Here is the added bonus: the brother and his hot best friends are marines.
Tiana is working to put her life back together after a night of celebration turned into a night she cannot remember. And to make matters worse, she is now being threatened because of the events of that night. But she has her brother Jayden and his best friend Drake to protect her. Jayden has taken it upon himself to warn them that each of them is off limits. However, their chemistry is hard to deny and could only be fought for so long. Tiana is strong and independent but when it comes to Drake, there is a whole other side to her.
Drake has secrets. Secrets that have the power to change not only his life but those of the people around him. For most of the book, I really liked Drake. He was hot, commanding, and also dealing with something that made him so vulnerable that you can’t help but want to help him find a way to enjoy life. But as the book progresses and secrets are revealed, he seems like a selfish joke.
The story was good and held my interest until a little after the halfway point when things just took a turn that I found too weird, confusing, and somewhat unnecessary. I’m sorry, but that section ruined the book for me personally. I think Tiana was the best part of the book. She was real, didn’t make excuses, and did her best to deal with what was being thrown at her.

I enjoyed this book. I have read a few of Emerson Rose’s books and have enjoyed them. This book was a very good read. The story packed quite a wallop as it progressed and included a couple of twists I didn’t see coming. Tiana had big dreams of becoming a big musical star. So after graduating high school, she packed her bags and left small town North Carolina and her over-protective older brother, Jayden, for the lights of New York City. It took her three years of waitressing to survive and countless auditions to finally get her big break as a contestant on a famous TV show. After a wild night of celebration, her chance for stardom went down the drain when a humiliating video of her went viral. The problem, Tiana can’t remember what happened that night. To get away from the scrutiny of the video and to figure out what to do next with her life, Tiana heads back home to North Carolina. Drake is a US Marine who lives next door to Jayden. His main focus is to get promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. He just needs to get through his next physical. Him and Jayden have been best friends since they were in the Marines together. When Jayden warns him to stay away from his sister, he readily agrees since he hasn’t seen Tiana in a long time and is sure there was no way he’d be attracted to her. When Drake finally meets Tiana, he is instantly drawn to the woman she has become and he knows that keeping his promise to stay away from her will not be an easy thing to do. When another video from her past threatened Tiana, she reached out to Drake for help, even though her brother had warned her to stay away from him. As Drake steps in to help Tiana, their feelings begin to grow and it is becoming difficult to hide their new relationship from Jayden. But as their feelings for each other grows deeper, Tiana’s past and Drake’s future will collide as a new development shakes the very foundations of their lives.

This was an outstanding story. I was drawn in from the very beginning and couldn't put it down. I have to say that I never would have guessed how things work out though. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC and I definitely recommend it for everyone!
Tiana has just received New that she won a position in a singing competition and goes out to celebrate on the town with her girls. She never expected to lose her spot because of someone posting videos of her on social media. She cannot remember anything that happened, but she's upset and decides to go stay with her brother, Jayden, while she tries to figure out what she wants to do with her life. His only rule? Stay away from his neighbor and best friend, Drake. What a task that will be....
Drake has been slowly losing his sight since he was 19 years old and has been hiding it just as long. He's decided that he will not put anyone through having to take care of him when he becomes blind, so he refuses to settle down. That is, until he meets Tiana. He cannot get her out of his head. He's protective of Tiana and knows he'll do anything to take care of her.
Through some crazy events, and unexpected twists and turns, things go from good to bad to worse, back to decent and eventually good again. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.

Me esperaba un libro más simple, pero me sorprendió, me gustó y creó que las 3.5 estrellas en mi calificación van por ese plot twist.
Tiana, luego que sus sueños se fueran a la basura, vuelve a casa con su hermano mayor, Jayden, que es muy protector con ella, razón por la cuál le advierte su mejor amigo, vecino y parte de los Marine al igual que él, Drake, que no se acerque a Tiana.
Tiana y Drake sienten una atracción por el otro casi inmediata, pero al principio tratan de esconder un poco esto a Jayden, el cual cuando vas leyendo el libro te das cuenta que sobrepasa los niveles de protección con su hermana, es casi obsesivo.
Bueno, no me esperaba ese plot twist, fue buenísimo, así que, aquí va el spoiler.
(SPOILER, SI NO QUIERES SABER, NO LO LEAS)
El plot twist al que me refiero es que fue Jayden el que mandó el video a Tiana amenazándola, fue él quién asesinó a sus padres y tía, pero no se esperan por qué... JAYDEN ESTABA ENAMORADO DE SU HERMANA, TIANA. Dios, tenia que decirlo, estaba completamente loco, tenía videos y fotos de ella desde antes que ocurriera la muerte de sus padres, porque claro uno pensaría que se volvió loquito por la muerte de sus padres, pero nada que ver, estuvo siempre obsesionado y enamorado de su hermana desde muchos antes (razón por la que mató a sus padres, cosa que ya mencioné).

Interesting quick read
Tiana is an aspiring singer, she has been working non-stop to make her dream come true in the big city. She is nearly there landing herself in a television show. However one drunken night changes everything and she is forced to return home to Jewel Falls, North Carolina, in disgrace. Luckily for her she can count her big brother Jayden and he is more than happy to help his little sister out.
Jayden is very protective of his little sister and has warned, Drake Marshal Valentine, his friend and boss in the Marines to stay away from her. Drake agrees, to be honest he is not looking for anything serious as he is battling his own demons right now and is not looking for anything long term right now.
I think this was an interesting read. It had an interesting and original plot. Jayden’s protectiveness of Tiana was sweet at first and then it was a bit too much. I can’t help but feel that if the book was longer it would have given it time to develop the characters more and perhaps it would have created more of a suspense.
All in all a quick read with lots of potential.

This was my first book to read by Emerson Rose but it won't be my last as I devoured it from start to finish in one sitting. The story begins when Tiana comes back home after a very embarrassing video of her night on the town surfaces. The problem is that she can't remember much of what happened and she is not even sure whether she was taken advantage of or not. "Big Brother" Jayden is very protective of his sister now that she is back home to the point of threatening any man who even looks at Tiana, including, and especially his best friend Major Drake Valentine who happens to live next door to the siblings. The sparks fly between Tiana and Drake and as they try to keep their relationship secret from Jayden, secret upon secrets are revealed and so many twists unfold that you will not believe what you are reading. Emerson Rose’s novels are amazing reads! The author’s writing style is exceptionally professional with very few or no grammatical errors. The “Commanding Officer” story-line is quite suspenseful, flows effortlessly with several unexpected twists. The novel is extremely engaging with both the heroine and hero portrayed as very likeable characters. The intimacy between the main characters was highly erotic but very tastefully portrayed. This was not my first read by Emerson Rose and I look forward to her next endeavor. I did find the beginning of “Commanding Officer” a bit slow to start and the novel itself quite long (641 pages). However, with a little patience the reward is very sweet.

Emerson Rose is a new author to me, i received this paperbook in the post from a close friend who basically ordered me to read this authors work.
Wow.....
I'm so glad i did, i was totally missing out.
How have I not heard of her before now?
This is a military book and it packs one hell of a punch.
The twists and turns the author throws at you in this story is epic. I did not see it coming.
I also love how this isn't your typical military story, its something I've never read before and it worked really really well.
It's absolutely amazing and i read the whole book in one sitting.
It's beautiful writing and the flow was amazing.
I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who loves military stories that have a twist that grips you. And this book with definitely give you that and leave you wanting more.

I enjoyed Commanding Officer; it was intense yet exciting with lots of suspense.
Tiana moves back home to live with her brother when her dreams of being a singer are shattered. Referring to her brother Jayden as being overprotective would be an understatement - Tiana feels suffocated by him. Jayden tells her to stay away from his best friend Drake - but will she listen?
Drake's condition is deteriorating and his life is slowly crumbling. He doesn't want to marry because he doesn't want to be a burden but Tiana awakens something inside him. Will he follow his heart?
This was an intense book to read and I have to admit the ending really surprised me. I liked Drake and Tiana; he was dominant and sexy whereas; she was fiery, sassy and defiant. They complemented each other really well. I liked the suspense element; it was gripping yet exciting and literally had my heart racing.

Omg, what an explosive, emotional story. Just when you think you have an idea of how a story is going to go...wham,. Not what you expect at all. Very emotional at times and it made me tear up. Tiana just loves to sing, it's what she dreams of. Strange things start to happen, a horrible video of her goes viral and she has to go home. What's going on. !!! Sharing a home with her overprotective brother Jayden, the only saving grace is his friend and neighbour Drake Valentine. Oh boy, is he a hottie but he has a secret, he is going blind. If you love romantic suspense, I think I found the book for you. Tiana wants to be on Just Sing. But when a video goes viral and ruins her chances she then returns to Jewel Falls. She ends up moving in with her older brother who is a Captain in the USMC, his name is Jayden Williamson. When she moves in he warns Tiana to stay away from his best friend and neighbor Major Drake Valentine. Drake is a very dominating alpha and Tiana is a very independent young woman. Will secrets that are being kept tear them apart before they really even being? Is the chemistry between them so explosive it will lead to something more? Can they truly have a relastionship and leave all the past behind them? This book is full of some great twists with unexpected turns. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Wow, another 5 star from this amazing author! She certainly never disappoints with any of her work, and this one was no different, I was hooked and intrigued throughout.
When a video of Tiana is a bar goes viral, her singing career is over, and she head home to Jewel Falls to stay with her brother Jayden, who is a marine. She is warned off the sexy neighbour next door who is also a marine, and is losing his sight. When the threats and stalking continue when Tiana is at home, Drake protects her. No spoilers from me though, you really need to read this one for yourself!

I really enjoyed this book. Tiana returns back home after having a drunken night of debauchery videoed and put all over the internet. Unbeknown to her, and everyone else, no one seems to be able to tell her what happened that night. So Tiana has to leave her singing dreams behind and head home.
Jayden, Tiana's brother has a best friend Drake that is also his next door neighbor. Jayden warns Drake away from Tiana and Tiana away from Drake. Jayden swears neither are good enough for each other.
What will happen if nobody listens to Jayden? What happens when Tiana comes home and things start getting weird for her?
This is such a great book, nothing of what I thought it would be. It was so much better!!

Commanding Officer
This story was heavily advertised on Facebook so I thought I’d check it out and read it. It was a gripping, emotional story with a very dark subplot that made me uneasy at times but I understand it was necessary for the plot of the story. Tiana and Drake were thrown together, and ended up falling hard for each other. I’m happy they were there for each other. I don’t want to give any spoilers away. Drake was truly a woman’s dream, I loved his vulnerability as well as his strength, especially when it came to Tiana. She came across to me as a bit of a mouthy little brat, but I attributed a lot of her mouthiness to her age and her background. Overall a good story.

This book was astounding.
Drake is a marine with a deep secret he wants to keep hidden.
Tiana is an aspiring singer who wants to make to make it big.
Yet forces bring them together that are far darker than either realize. And when brought to light they may either break them or make them stronger.
The situations in this book are so much like real life that you feel as if you right there watching it all unfold before. you.
This may be my new favorite book by Emerson.
Make sure you check out Commanding Officer as well. It's definitely a must read.

Emerson Rose is a new author for me. But I think I really loved this book. The storyline is awesome and I love the fact that the story touchs a taboo topic but it was not cringe worthy. The story is beautifully written. This book definitely blew my mind! And hot damn but Darke is one handsome military man! This book has it's fair share of twist and turns and you wouldn't know what hit you. I love the fact that these people despite the circumstances they have suffered through in the past are adapting to each other so well. This book is definitely intense! I would definitely love to read more works by this author!
