Karen Gordon is an indie author who loves supporting strong and sexy women in fiction and in real life.
Born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri, she found her love of extraordinary stories about ordinary places by finding excitement in mundane suburbia. Although she currently writes romance and chick lit, you never know what she might do next. (You'll never find a woman-hating, bad-boy hero though.)
She currently lives with the loves of her life, three very cool geeky men and one perfect puppy, just outside of Memphis, TN.
Vivienne Ramsey's journey through life continues with Departure, the third novella from Karen Gordon's The Vivienne Series. Vivienne dives headfirst into her new role of executive assistant to the young, future CEO of JetStream Aerospace, Jack Rockhurst. Unfortunately, Jack has no interest in managing his father's company and hardly ever shows up for work. He spends most of his time drinking and partying. When Jack is tasked with being the face of JetStream at a very important Las Vegas trade show, he purposely disappears, which completely frazzles the completely efficient Vivienne. Due to Jack's intimidating father putting her in control of all things Jack on this trip, Vivienne believes her job is in jeopardy as well.
With everything going on, Vivienne ends up meeting a sexy porn star and some really terrific people from the aerospace industry. They recognize Vivienne's skills and abilities almost immediately, and make her an offer she cannot refuse.
I enjoyed this installment. The first chapter is quite amusing and I laughed out loud many times. Dom, Vivienne's best friend, is fun, and able to keep Vivienne grounded during the most distressing of times. Vivienne is a terrific character and her genuineness is quite refreshing.
It just keeps getting better and better. Still left with a cliffhanger, but what an exciting storyline to follow. I love watching Viv grow and develop as a character.
This is the third book in Vivienne Series. I am really enjoying this series. Now there isn't really any romance in this book but I am sure Ms Gordon has some in the works for the next book. In this installment we see more of Viv and her career and the mess she has to deal with called Jack. I wanted to give Viv a hug and a pat on the back, I think she is killer in her job. Is there anything she can't do other than keeping Jack in line? Now Jack is the epitome of the entitled child of the boss and all I wanted to do is reach inside my kindle and slap him. I can't wait to see what Karen Gordon has planned next for this series. You will want to read the books in order to understand all that has happened and what is going on. I highly recommend this book and series.
Three books in and I am still really enjoying this novella series!
In this installment, we see Vivienne take a stand and make some tough career choices. Putting up with Jack was never going to be right for her, not in the long run anyway. So when she makes some AMAZING new friends, she is offered an amazing opportunity, but it has it's drawbacks as well. So she has to consider all of her options and make that big decision.
Let me just say that there is basically ZERO romance in this installment, but I don't really care. It focuses heavily on Viv and her career, not stressing over some dude. While I do definitely want romance for her, I like that she wants to have her life together first. Then, on the other hand, I think she could be just having a good time. I mean, we all know sex is a stress reliever, and she could use that!!
Also, I REALLY love her new friends, and am looking forward to seeing more of them in future installments. Looking forward to the next one!

In book 3 in this fierce and flirty chick lit series Vivienne finds herself between a rock (her boss) and a very hard place ( the company CEO). She's clever but keeping up with her boss is wearing her out. Their trip to a convention in Vegas might be just the break she needs or it might break her.

In this book our main character Vivienne has to deal with a whole new can of worms. Keeping her boss on track and out of trouble proves to be a most difficult job. It's not one I would ever want to have to do. There really is no romance in this book however I am hoping for something big to come in the next book. I know you will want to read all of the books in this series in order so that you understand where the storyline comes from and where it's going. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Another great chapter in the life and times of Vivienne. She has a great new job and a bigger challenge than she has ever had before. Viv is pushed to her limit and she learns her own strength. The funny, heartbreaking and very real life of Viv continues in Departure. Ms. Gordon continues to evolve Viv and even her best friend, Dom and Dom’s Husband Luis. They are Viv’s support system but they also have their own lives and they will all have to learn how that new dynamic will work. Viv will have to learn to stand on her own two feet even more than before. Come along on this continuing journey with Viv as she confronts life and love with humor and a few tears. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
Loving Vivienne's story. It just keeps getting better and better. She's so smart. Her talent is definitely wasted on Jack. Meeting new people at the Vegas convention sure added excitement to the story. Can't wait for the next book. I am so drawn into this story, don't know how I am going to wait. Loved this installment of the Vivienne Series and I really enjoyed the tangent it went on. I was a little afraid that Jack would be redeemed and the typical love story would ensue. Not even a little bit folks. Can't wait to read about the next part of her adventure and to see where her new job leads her (although a little part of me still wants her to wind up with her first love because I'm such a sap.)

I was so excited to read this after book two and it didn't disappoint. I can't give it all away, but all the things that irritate us all about Jack are exploited in this book. Vivienne's dreaded trip with her whiny boss turns into a wild thrill ride when she meets an unconventional Italian couple. I truly enjoyed this book! Great read!
I have really enjoyed reading The Vivienne Series of books. It's been a great journey so far getting to know Vivienne. Departure is the third book in the series. With them being short books they are so easy to read especially in one sitting. So what did I think...
After the ending of book two I was definitely intrigued as to what Vivienne would do next. This book felt like a whirlwind but in a good way before I knew it the book had finished.
It was great to see Vivienne with some fighting spirit and I was rooting for her to find a way out of her situation. The best thing in this story was seeing Vivienne trying to keep Jack under control.
I loved the introduction of new characters as it really gave the story a new direction. So I can't wait to see what will happen next!
Fast paced and lots of fun!
Five stars from me!
Thank you to Karen Gordon for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I thoroughly enjoyed this third instalment in the Vivienne series. I'm so proud that Vivienne made the right decision in the end. She's a smart, intelligent woman and deserves recognition for what she does. OMG, that Jack is something else, isn't he!! Looking forward to continuing Viv's journey in Voyage! I do think she needs a little more fun in her life. Here's hoping!
