They murdered the woman he casually bangs--and now they're going to pay.
The Russian mafia just made their last mistake. They killed Sid Hansen's friend--not a girlfriend, certainly not a lover, because that would imply some kind of actual emotional attachment. She was just a convenient sex partner, and now she's gone, murdered by the mob.
So what is the world's most dangerous man to do? Kill. Every. Last. One-of-them. Bomb their businesses. Burn their homes to the ground. Drag their daughters from their beds and--whoa, whoa, that's a bit much. That whole violence against women thing is a bit of a hot button issue we need to stay away from, but all the killing and the burning is still good.
The wrath of Kill Team One rivals the wrath of an angry god, but the mob is about to get some unexpected help from something beyond human--and beyond evil. This is an enemy Sid cannot hope to fight alone, and yet there is no one around to help him...
The styling and structure are superb. The content is drivel. But it's delicious addictive drivel smothered in MSG with a devine creamy vanilla-heroin filling that leaves you wanting more.
Book three of the further adventure of Kill Team One finds Sid on a mission of vengeance against the Russian mob, the return of an enemy, conspiracy, intrigue, and a new enemy with a cool power, plus lots of gratuitous, over the top violence, and dark dark humor. On to book four! Check it out.
This is without a doubt the greatest series in the history of the written word ..i went back and this is my second time reading Mr Leons books , love them all
This is the third book in the series, and it's a little bit weird. It's virtually two books in one, and the sudden change from one to the other is abrupt and jarring at the time, because you wonder just WTF just happened. It's because of this that I'm not giving it a 5 outa 5. Sid's been asked by his girlfriend Lily, to kill a Russian mobster. He does so happily, only for Lily to be kidnapped and murdered by them in revenge. (Or so he thinks), so he goes on a murderous rampage that kills almost all of the Russians, except for two or three. Halfway through the book, the story switches from Sid's point of view to Lily's, and we discover she faked her death, in order to see if Sid would kill the Russians because he loves her. Somehow, she gets kidnapped for real by the Ghoul, a horror movie villian like Jason from Friday the 13th, who can't be killed, and has an insatiable need for human flesh to keep alive. Eventually, the story loops back to Sid, who comes to rescue Lily, and destroy the Ghoul.
Mike Leon is a pulp fiction hero! I can't wait for the next one. If you haven't read the series, please visit his website and get started immediately! Doesn't matter if you don't have time, make time. You'll love me in the morning.
