Dani Botelli has vowed to step out of her demanding movie star mother’s shadow, and is determined to start a new chapter in her life. But two men vying for her attention are making for double the trouble. There’s Jake, her police detective almost-ex who wasn’t so hot as a husband but still has the hots for Dani. And as usual, he needs her intuition and visions to help him solve a crime. Then there’s her high school crush, Michael, a former NFL pro who’s now her mom’s hunky lawyer.
Working alongside Jake, while keeping her special gifts under wraps, is proving to be more dangerous than Dani realized. She needs to stay out of harm’s way—and out of Jake’s flirtatious path—long enough to find out if Michael is the one. But will her hard-to-explain hunches be the secret that comes between them?

Who? •Dani, daughter of a famous movie star, who was trying to make it on her own, while also trying to amicably divorce her husband. •Michael, a former NFL star and current lawyer, with major trust issues due to a messy divorce.
What? Michael and Dani grew up together as best friends, but then Dani suddenly severed that friendship, right when Michael was ready to declare his feelings for her. Multiple situations have brought them back into each others' world, and this may be their second chance at love.
Why? I am a BIG fan of the It Had to Be books, so I was very excited to hear Baumann had a new series coming out. Although this book did not replicate my initial experience with that series, it has the makings to get to that point.
A second chance romance with a murder plot and a paranormal twist. Sometimes I felt like Baumann was trying to get too much into this story, but when she focused on Michael and Dani, I forgot all those feelings, because I loved the couple so much.
This book was all about the characters for me, and there are so many fun and wonderful characters in this book. Dani was fighting with all her might to make it on her own, but she never let it change who she was deep down inside - a lovely, big-hearted woman. Michael was very protective. A doting father and dedicated son, he liked taking care of the women in his life, but knew he had to treat Dani differently, if he was going to win her heart. Then there was Dani's family - mom, grandmother, and sister, were all spitfires, who add lots of color to any scene they are in. And I could not forget Jake, Dani's ex-husband, who could charm the pants off of you. The dynamic between him and Dani was very interesting and complicated, but made sense when more details are revealed.
Overall: A fun romance filled with several sub-plots to keep your interest and lots of great characters I would like to know better.
This book has some great moments that had me laughing out loud, but the twist in the plot with Michael really made me mad. Dani deserved better. That made this book much less enjoyable. However, the little girl, Emma, kept me from giving it an even lower rating. Happy ☺reading 📚!
Dani Botelli is the (trying to be) reformed spoiled princess of a movie star mom. Dani is attempting to make a new life where she is independent and standing on her own two feet, but first she must get her soon-to-be ex to agree to a divorce. Jake relies on Dani and her special gift and is afraid to let her go or is just not convinced it's truly over between them. Jake and Dani are so close that it makes it difficult for her new interest, Michael (who just so happens to be her high school crush) to believe Dani and Jake are truly over. I loved Michael with Dani and his struggle to believe she was in as much as he was in the relationship. Here we have a former NFL quarterback smitten with a woman totally out of character for his persona yet so perfect for him.
There were so many things in this book that caught my interest and is sure to make for a great series to follow. Dani has been pampered but she wants to be independent and make it own her own. She possess a special gift that both her mother and grandmother possess as well. Well these women were hilarious together and I can't wait to see how they will be used in future books. When Dani's life is in danger Michael wants to protect her and be there for her it leads these two on a fun, exciting and sexy journey. However, Michael finds it difficult to be all in with Jake ever present and very loving to Dani. When an unexpected visitor throws Dani into a role she never wanted to be in and has her diving into an investigation like none she has ever done before we are sent on a road trip that entertaining, funny and in a way healing for Dani.
Tamra Baumman writes in a way that you are drawn in to the story and feel the heartbreak and passion of the characters. Dani wants to break free from Jake yet when she finally gets the point across that they are over, that she wants to move on, you feel the heartbreak and pain she feels as he concedes and then moves on. Michael captures your heart as he had such strong feelings for Dani only to have her completely cut him off. Years later he discovers those feelings are still there yet he can't trust Dani not to abandon him again. You hurt for Michael yet want him to give in to Dani.
Sweet, spicy and suspenseful! This laugh-out-loud page turner has everything: a sheriff and a lawyer in love with the same woman; jealousy; bad guys ; and hot fun in Las Vegas. Dani, a "wanna be realtor", just wants to stand on her own two feet without interference from her meddling ex-husband. her movie-star mother, and the ESP she wishes she didn't possess. But when you can "see" the future, it kind of turns you off of living, right now today. Great story with lots of laughs. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book (Goodreads Winner). Thank you.
I see this is a series, I am new to this author, I was so happy that i had an option to read or listen to this book ... cover rocks!! makes me giggle. yellow heels! lighted-hearted contemporary romance with quirky characters ... who doesn't love quirky humor and characters??! must read. loved it!! look forward to more from Tamra soon enough!! loved it!! ( :
I loved this story and all the characters I don’t think I ever read a book that I liked all the characters. I couldn’t put it down finished it in one day I can’t wait to read the next book
Very well written, great story line in special if you believe in people with special gifts, that I defiantly do, and great characters. Its not full of sex but enough of heat. So much happening all the time that makes hard to put the book down. I highly recommend this book.
I have a shelf for books like this: "b-movie-plot". It's where I put books where I think the author threw in a mix of everything into the storyline to *hopefully* make things interesting. But while this style works for others, I don't like it.
This isn't a straightforward PNR. Nor is it a true action-police-mystery-thriller. Nor is it purely a romantic comedy. Nor is it a just second-chance romance. It was a buffet of appetizers. As I was reading, I felt like I had tasting samples of each genre/trope because the author never quite decided in what direction she wanted to take the story. Imo, it made for a story and characters that weren't really fully developed.
Why would I say that? Well... The h is a psychic who is the child of a famous actress/celebrity. She is now broke and trying to be a realtor. When we meet her, she was still in a friends-with-benefits relationship with the man who she is supposed to be divorcing. YET we learn that she's always been in love with the H, who was her childhood bestfriend but because of her visions she dumps him.
The H is a former starting QB for the NFL that is now a lawyer, of both the h and her movie star mother. The H, who has also loved the h since they were kids, somehow gets married to a woman who turns out to be a gold-digging lesbian.
But now that the h is divorcing the husband, she's starting up a relationship again with the H, who, btw also took her virginity. Oh and did I also mention that later in the story, there a mafia angle thrown in.
Ayayay.
It just all ended up strange. And weird. And confusing. And not good. At least not for me.

Sadly Daniella is a wishy washy character who although is smart AND generous, buckles and caves into everyone's demands and orders. She doesn't stand up for herself, and by the end I was so fed up with her I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. Jake, Jake was selfish, and a USER! He took advantage of Daniella and basically I couldn't imagine why she had married the perpetual man child!! Furthermore Michael, YUCK YUCK YUCK! He's judgmental, narrow minded, prejudice, and downright mean. I hated the way he treated Daniella (after the one time he was kind and caught her in the beginning) he was short tempered and soooo rude to her. She tried and tried(and I hated her for it), I would have given him the middle finger and left him happily with a "don't let the door slam you on your back on your way out, jerk!" No, this was awful, and will not be re-read!
Mystery, romance, two good men, close family ties....
Dani is an heiress-trying to stand on her own two feet- she's got a soon to be ex-husband who she helps with his cop work, she has an ex-best friend who is her famous moms lawyer and she has the bad habit of trouble fallowing her.
I think this is a fun, romantic comedy with a twist of fantasy. I couldn't imagine getting visions and dreams about people and things. And to hide that from most of the people you know.
Dani and Jake are better friends then spouses. Sure they had the physical but some friends with benefits should never be more then that- hence this couple. I hope they can continue to be the best of friends platonically after their divorce- such a great ending to them. Not many couples can be friends after ending a relationship but to see it after a marriage ends is almost unheard about.
Dani and Michael his ever are past best friends, that crossed the line once, he's the one that got away. But fate was starting to recapture what was missed. With his pov and hers this story had me engrossed in what would happen next.
This story is endearing, steamy, funny, entertaining and had some heartfelt moments that may bring tears to your eyes like they did mine.
I'm curious to see if we'll know more about Sarah (will Rick last?) and Jake. Both I think deserve their own stories. And I'd like to see Dani have kids of her own- though I'm sure it would hurt Jake so he needs matched up before then (not sure if Darlene is it).
This is labeled as a mystery and paranormal by many readers (including me), but it's really a contemporary romance. Don't try to make it into a mystery - it just isn't one. And the paranormal part is a very subtle woo-woo factor. If you don't expect these, you won't be disappointed. And it's not a love triangle like the publisher's blurb implies. That's resolved right at the beginning. Thank goodness.
I enjoyed the light story line and interesting characters. Dani's paranormal gift (seeing) adds to the interest, but isn't the focus of the book. Of course I had to subtract .5 * for the worst trope in the Romance genre - the Delayed Secret Disclosure. That's the situation where one of the protagonists needs to tell his/her secret to the other, but can't bring themselves to do it. So the secret is then disclosed at the worst time ever. I really hate it!
Cover: Cute, but not terribly compelling. Narrator: Nice job! Hogwarts Sorting Hat: This is tough. I think Dani might be a Slytherin and Michael is a Gryffindor.
Themes: Albuquerque NM, divination/seeing, movie star, real estate, police, attorney, family
Seeing Double by Tamara Baumann a fun and flirty four-star read. This is the first book in the Heartbreaker Novels, it’s also the first book by this author I have read, and it won’t be the last. This is a paranormal romance but if you don’t like that genre don’t be put off as it’s also got a great story that you could almost oversee that. (The visions in question aren’t crystal ball and fringe veil). I personally enjoy a good paranormal romance so I enjoyed this aspect, but I know not everyone does. There are some scenes of an adult nature and some language used that’s more mature but it’s not every other word. Overall Tamara Baumann has written a great story both lead males Michael and Jake have great sides to them that are revealed as you read and Dani is great, she’s a woman of many talents and some she is happier to reveal. The struggles she faces are honest and you can easily relate. Overall a very good read, if you are in the mood for a sweet PRN or a sweet romance then this is the book for you as it covers both very well.
It was just okay. I consider myself a big fan of romance novels & this one I could take it or leave it. Michael & his trip over being 100% honest all the time I didn't really buy. What lawyer is honest? Come on now. I liked Jake and Danis relationship. I understand why they divorced but I'm glad they stayed friends. I liked how Jake alway called her babe even though it bothered Michael. Jake will always love Dani and if that's all he could hold on to give it to him. I didn't see a lot of growth in Dani though. Oh she ended up liking a kid for once? Not that much growth tbh. Michael almost tricks her into agreeing to have kids even though she does not want them. He already has two and dani doesn't want to have her own so don't pressure her, that's one of the reasons she left Jake! I liked the character jerry. I was sure Dani would have to adopt Emma at the end but nope.
Did anyone notice on the amazon kindle version theres a page in the book where they change Emma's name to Emily a few times?
The book was okay, will be reading more from this author.

Seeing Double was a fun, quirky read, with just enough twists to keep things interesting!
Dani spends time helping her almost ex-husband solve crimes with her special abilities but she really wants to reconnect with Michael her childhood best friend. She has a big heart and was an easy to like character. She really wants to stand on her own too feet and use her gifts for good.
Michael has reservations about getting involved with Dani again on any level. His reasons for feeling that way don't feel too contrived or fake. Of course there's history and drama there, but it doesn't feel extremely fake or over the top.
A few times it felt like there were too many plot threads going, but in the end they came together for a satisfying ending. I definitely recommend this book!

This book was so amazing. I cannot wait to read the next book in Heartbreaker series; it is so charming, captivating, and fun. This will be a book that I will reread more than once. The connection between Dani and Jake her soon to be ex was an important part of this story; the way that the author explained their relationship was heartwarming and enthralling that you cannot help but love them. The connection between Dani and Michael was intense, sizzling, sexy, fun, and dynamic; this part of the story answered so many questions that they both needed answered in order to live their full lives. Thank you very much Tamra Baumann for such an awesome new series and thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read the book and write this review.
Dani's got man trouble. Her ex, Jake, is still a big presence in her life. Then there's Michael her high school crush and her moms lawyer. Dani has a special gift, she is psychic, as is her mother and grandmother. Her ex knows, as she helps him solve crimes. Michael doesn't, as Dani isn't really allowed to tell anyone. On account of her mother being an actress, she doesn't want it to ruin her reputation. Michael has trust issues after his ex wife kept a very big secret from him. Dani doesn't know how he will react when she tells him. Its a lot to deal with. Fans of paranormal romance should pick up a copy. Its a fun read. Cant wait to read some more books by this author. ARC received from net galley in exchange for an honest review.
I thought I was NOT going to like this one in the beginning. The heroine, Dani, get's herself in some darn funny situations. I kept going though because I enjoy Tamra Baumanns' previous books, in the It Had to Be You series.
This one was no different! Full of humour, snark, and wit, this was fun story! The characters are fully developed and yes there is some woo-woo to it but the adventures that Dani took the strait-laced, right or wrong, no grey area, Michael on were fun.
This book is lighthearted romp about a madcap psychic who is barely managing to stay above water in all areas of her life and trouble follows her wherever she goes. She routinely uses her special talents to help her soon-to-be ex-husband solve murder cases, and it’s one of those cases that comes back to haunt her and everyone around her in a very big way. While she’s outrunning a killer, she’s juggling her husband, her current love interest and a bruiser of a bodyguard trying to keep her from getting her head blown off. I enjoyed the unpredictable storyline and the all around quirkiness of this character and her madcap life but the story lacked emotional depth between both the characters and the reader, which made this book just so-so for me.
I enjoyed reading this story of a woman with a gift and the two men who loved her. Her families warmth and love shines through which helps make this a fun story. I loved Dani's sister Sara who is the only normal person in the family.
Dani is trying to divorce Jake because the marriage just didn't work for her and because she wants a friend that she has known since childhood, Michael. In the book you get the feeling that Jake is holding on partly because of Dani's special gift and toy can understand why.
Dani also ends up taking care of a child which terrifies her and the child is no relation to her but clings to her anyway. Then add in a lunatic, a road trip, drunken family members, a body guard with a problem, and the fun begins.
What happens when you have intuitions and visions. Hmm you soon to be ex uses you to help him solve crimes and the man you want has no idea. Dani is tired of living under her Mother. She want s to live her own life, and get her soom to be ex to sign the divorce papers. She never imagines getting stuck with someone elses child and traveling with the one who got away to chase down the Mother. This really teaches her things about herself This was a romantic comedy that keeps you laughing the whole way through. The suspense in the plot is fine tuned. I really enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed this read wayyy more than I thought I would!
I was expecting to open this book and get the same romance rom-com that likes to float around the book market but instead I got way more than I thought.
This book had a funny and entertaining plot, characters that got into the worst situations, and a budding romance that made me want to yell at my ipad. If you were having any doubts about this book like I was, forego them and jump into this great romance read.
This book was definitely not what I expected and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised by the characters and plot!
Dani Botelli, daughter of a famous movie star, is caught in between Jake, her soon-to-be ex-husband, and Michael, her 1st love. Jake is a detective and perpetually brings Dani in to assist him with his cases, because she has the ability to see things that other can't, plus...he is still in love with his wife, so it's no hardship. Michael, Dani's mother's lawyer, still has feelings for Dani and acts aloof when he thinks Dani and Jake are closer than they should be. Will Jake be able to work his way back into his wife's heart, or will Michael find a way to win back her affection?
This book was funny and well written. It is book 1 in the Heartbreaker Series.
This book will having you crack up with Dani's antics. She and her ex husband team up so she can help him with his cases. She is always getting into trouble and seems to put her ex husband first instead of herself. Dani still loves her first love Michael and would love to see where their relationship might go but can she just get rid of Jake. You will love all of the characters in the book because they are all needed. I need to pick up the next book and see where these relationships go. Don't get me started on Em, I think everyone will awe over her. I think Dani will be a great mother after watching over Emma.
An ARC of this book as been provided by the author/ publisher via Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
The books tells the story of Dani, spoilt American princess, who finds herself in a pseudo-love triangle with soon to be ex-husband, Jake and childhood friend and crush, Michael.
Dani has a special gift which plays a key role throughout the book.
This is my first foray into books written by Tamra Baumann. I found the characters to be quirky and the story, an easy read. Whilst I'm not a fan of paranormal books, this wasn't overly so. Overall, I enjoyed the book.
Seeing Double was a fun, quirky, entertaining read. Dani was hilarious. Having lived in the shadow of her famous mother she's never really seen her own appeal. Now she has two men looking for her attention and she's not quite sure what to do with either of them. Jake may be her ex husband but he still wants her. Not to mention he needs her, ummmm.... special talents. Then there's Michael. He seems like a great guy but finding the time to spend with him to find out isn't always easy. Join in the fun as these three dance around, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend it.
“Seeing Double” might be my very favorite Tamra Baumann book so far. I loved feisty Dani, who had to learn throughout the book that she could stand on her own two feet – and then stand even taller as her skills and ability to help those around her are revealed in quirky and heartwarming ways.
And having not one, but TWO hunky men to read about in Dani’s life (though her heart only belongs to one) made this funny, can’t-put-down, rollercoaster-ride of a book even more entertaining.
I really enjoyed this book. I may have a little reluctancy when it comes to woo-woo poets but this story sold me on it, maybe. When it didn't I just turned to the fact I have many people in my life I love but there is something about the one that challenges me.
This story had a little bit of everything you could hope for- chase, thrill, catch, mystery, humor, love, heat and a happy ending. Oh and the characters were all... characters. I love them and the story!
