I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

I love talking to my readers so email me if you have any questions or even if you just want to chat...

I have a few of T. G. Ayer's other pieces, but I haven't read them yet, so I don't have anything to compare this with, but her style seems just a little naive. I know she has written quite a few other books (at least a dozen or so, I think), so I hope her style smooths out more in coming stories. She has a good, multi-layered plot, a number of well-rounded central characters and vivid scene descriptions on important occasions. What's missing is tying them together with a smooth narrative flow. When she has mastered that, she will rate a 5-star rating on her stories if she keeps them at the same quality as this one. I recommend this story as a fast-paced, step into the world of the paranormal with a seer for the world developing and a possible pandemic that must be stopped before a horrific body count piles up!

"Allegra's Dark Sight is the key to saving the world—but only if they can find the right lock. The clock is ticking. Three months to figure it out, or everyone dies."

If that bit from the kindle blurb even remotely appeals to you then I can pretty much guarantee that you'll love this book. It certainly appealed to me and wow did I ever enjoy the book. I loved the world that TG Ayer created for this book and the Daughter of Pythia series that it is starting. From the kindle blurb I had anticipated a world set in the future where Germany had evolved into a "New Germanic". I've no idea how that would have worked but it's not even remotely what the author actually did. Nope, her New Germania is leagues better. It's an alternate country in what we call North America (there ain't no USA here) is a society that is modeled on the Roman Empire. It's also an alternate reality where some people have actual oracular powers and are hired by governments to predict future events do that they can avoid disasters, solve crimes, etc. The heroine in the story is a "Pythia", the most powerful oracle, descended from Apollo's Oracle of Delphi in Classic Greece. A pretty good gig - except for that whole three months until the end of the world thing. Ayer runs with this to perfection, with a fantastic thrilling plot and characters who are ideally suited for it. It's a perfect start for this series which I am now really looking forward to reading.

You just know I'm going to recommend this one highly, don't ya? You're absolutely right.

🥇 Outstanding Phenomenal Read! 🥇
Before you lays a book with a magnificent diverse gallery of vivid characters. Acting, interacting and doing various things like normal people & deities do, some good, some bad, sometimes missguided, sometimes divinely inspired. Its like a multifacetted perfectly cut brilliant, the multitude, the vividness, and presented so natural within this ebb and flood of activity that takes place. Don't get me wrong, there is a most perfect pace in this book, richly infused with twists and turns spiked with surprising events. The Ebb and Flood represents the balance between action and suspence filled events (external action), and emotions, thoughts, visions, and all the otherworthly things that takes place within her (internal action).
With that being said, it's still very much awe-inspiring the exquisite way this its done. Witty cleverness, and conveyed supple emotions, the whole lot, or should I say loot (it feels like a treasure indeed!) is present (but NOT clumsily plastered all over in some tasteless display).
In a Divinely perfect pitch in each detail over the board all the way to how it is presented with it's fine tuned lavish amount of everything - Its perfect!!.
In short terms: All the best of this book are in some subtle way transfered to where it matters, regardless if its the head, the heart or the soul.
A genuine treasure read regardless if you like Urban, Fantasy, PNR, Romance, Adventure, Suspense or just a Perfect Read (PR!) ! And better yet it's the beginning of a series, that undoubtedly holds a lot of promise! ♥️

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book

The first thing I have to say that this book is absolutely amazing and I am dying to know what will happen Next in this series!!! I have read a few books by this author and I have adored them but this is definitely my favourite, it is such a unique and different story!

I loved how you never know what is going to happen in this story, there is nothing predictable about it. There are twists and turns that come out of nowhere and surprise you! It is a seriously addictive story that is written so so well, full of vivid imagery and packed with imagination that rivals the best authors I have read!

Allegra was fantastic to read about especially if you love a strong and independent female character like I do! She grows so much throughout this book and I can't wait to see how much she will grow mentally and emotionally in further adventures. She is just a normal woman who wants a normal life but that is definitely not what is destined for her! From the first moment that Max was introduced I fell in love with his character, he has a deep goodness about him, he is a good man who is very protective of those that he cares about!

This really is an outstandingly amazing book and everyone needs to read this, I have no doubt that other readers will be as blown away as I was. Well worth a 5* rating!!!!!

T.G. Ayer is a wonderful author and has quickly moved up the ranks of my go to authors' list. This series start only cements her position there. Dark Sight introduces us to Allegra, the newest incarnation of the Oracles of Pythia, and she has a vision of the destruction of the world at the hands of a devastating pandemic. With her guardian Max, she continues to learn about her powers and gifts as they head off to avert the disaster. They are thwarted by the Order of Hermes, a deadly cult whose leader's agenda still remains unclear. Will they stop the plague in time, or will the world end with a whimper? If the cult's nefarious plan is thwarted, will they disappear or rise with some new plan of destruction? And what of Allegra and Max's budding romance? Where do they go from here? Can't wait to find out! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Dark Sight:

This book was brilliant! It is steeped in Greek & Roman Mythology/History. Seems to be set in nearly modern times with a twist. There has been considerable research put into this book and the writing is eloquent. I have a large vocabulary from many, many books read & a general love of language but even I had to Google a couple to be sure I understood.

I fell in love with the cast of Characters, Alleges, Max, Denis, Corina, Flavius, even Pepper! I was sad to lose some of the cast to events in the books. I look forward to revisiting the characters to see them grow.

I hope there will be others in this series! [I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.]

Allegra Damascus is an ordinary woman that loves her life. She has a gift for knowing things before they happen which leads to trouble in some aspects of her life. But now, Allegra is having disturbing visions of the future. She doesn't know why this is happening but wants it to stop right now. Powerful forces are at work to get Allegra to be the New Pythia. While others will stop at nothing to eliminate her altogether. Can Allegra stop these visions? Who will help Allegra? Your answers await you in Dark Sight.

This new to author created a fantastic world to explore. I thought the story and characters were mysterious, complicated, complex, rich, bold, flawed, compelling, and passionate. I look forward to more from this author in the future.

Allegra Damascus’ prescience could save the world? It’s an interesting premise. They only have three months to find out how to tap it. In this sharp, well crafted deeply steeped in history, T G Ayers introduces us to the latest Daughter of Pythia, the Oracle who is still trying to understand her gifts. Good thing she has Max to help her use her power that seems to make members of The Order Of Hermes who seem to want her out of the way because she’s stopping their agenda.

Yes, it’s another good verses evil trophe. What does that mean for the age group this is written for? What about Allegra and Max? Do they have a future? You’ll have to read it and see. Highly recommended. 5/5

I enjoyed this book, for the most part.

What if Christianity never happened? That is the alternate history of this book, I believe. The places have similar, but slightly different names. The technology is somewhat similar. The belief system is based on Greek gods in the main areas of the book, and touches on other belief systems in other parts of the world, but no Christianity. Michelangelo painted, but not the Sistine Chapel.

The story is about preventing the end of humanity, with a new "Oracle" who just came into their powers. It's an interesting and entertaining read.

It would be 5 stars, if there had been better copy editing. The errors made it hare to read and follow the story at times, and dropped me out of the story.

Allegra is a young woman who suddenly have visions about a plague that end humankind. She doesn't know what is happening to her, but she knows she must stop that and try to save the world.
Dark Sight is a very well written story starring Allegra, the new Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi. With her powers to see the future and the help of commander Maximus Vissarion and his team, she learns to control her visions and put them to service of the world no matter who wants to stop or control her.
This is a good story set in an alternate future where the society is shaped into a Roman Empire frame and mixes ancient mythology with romance, adventure and a bit of suspense.

A gripping urban fantasy.

🔮 paranormal
🔮 coming of age / magic
🔮 found family
🔮 he’s her handler/protector
🔮 mystery and suspense

When Allegra’s unusual and occasional paranormal ability suddenly gains strength and she can now predict someone’s future by touching them, it’s not all roses. When her sight shows widespread devastation and death she’s not quite sure how to interpret her skills.
Maximus however was Allegra’s predecessor’s trusted agent and he is now tasked with not only helping her prevent a plague threatening to wipe out humanity, but he’s also has to protect her as not everyone believes her interference is in humanities best interest.

A fabulous suspenseful fantasy with a touch of romance.

I was sent this book by the author and all opinions are my own.

This book was well written and the author shows a significant knowledge of the English language. Some of the words I had to look up in order to understand the interpretations and meanings. This story was about the new Pythoria, Allegra, and her vision of the destruction of the people by a great plague. At the beginning of the book I was sort of frustrated by those who were sent to protect Allegra and their lack of foresight in safeguarding her. But as the story progressed, Allegra's protectors learned from their mistakes. However, more fervent adversaries seemed to crop up and the team of protectors became more and more challenged. This is what makes the story interesting and keeps the reader wondering what's going to happen next and how the team will solve that challenge. The ending of the story comes to a satisfying conclusion but of course with some teasers for the next book in the series. Overall, this book makes for a great read and well worth it.

Dark Sight looks into the life of Allegra whom has always kind of had the power to know when things will happen or the outcome but then one day her powers get way more powerful and it predicts a very bad upcoming event.
With the help of Max, an FAPA agent, his entourage and her best friend, Allegra turns in her resignation for her normal job to take on this new dangerous path the Gods and her heritage have decided to take her down!
What's this event she foresees? Is Allegra safe in this new path?
Well, pick up the book and see for yourself, believe me you won't regret it for even a second!

A beautiful whirlwind of mythology, danger and suspense. I was instantly swept away in Allegra's journey.
The shorter chapters made the story fly by at a fast-pace and I had a hard time putting this down.
The characters were equally enjoyable and fun to read. They felt real and life-like. The author was able to capture the emotions and struggles so vividly I felt like I was right there experiencing the same thing.

I definitely can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

This story is set in a dystopian United States known as the New Germanic State. The main character, Allegra Damascus, has visions about a devastating plague that will end humanity. Allegra feels that she must try to save the world. Allegra becomes the new Oracle of Delphi. Well-written story that portrays a Roman Empire like future and includes ancient mythology. I am looking forward into devling into the next books in this series.

Curious when I entered into this one I was met with a bit of different. With Allegra taking me in I soon discover this is a adventure that will keep me hopping. What is thought is not what it is which keeps a readers interest. Also trying to not be used is another matter that keeps you into this. Then there is Maximus who will also draw your attention. As the two intertwine you are carried away in this not coming up for air too often. Ahh though I must venture into the next one to find out more answers.

This was a good start to this series. The premise was intriguing and the execution was enthralling. I enjoyed reading about the world and the plot at hand. I liked getting to know these characters and how they tick. Dark Sight is a great take on an Greek mythos. The question is, "How do you change the future?" and "What are the consequences once changed?"

This is an enchanting well-written Urban Fantasy with action, adventure, and a Greek Mythology basis. The characters are developed, independent, kick-ass, and likable. For lovers of this genre, I find that T. G. Ayer's stories are along the lines of Faith Hunter, Ilona Andrews, and Chloe Neill. Action, intrigue, suspense and paranormal characters and situations. Allegra the new Seer or Pythia and Max her Guardian and love interest are trying to change the circumstances that lead to a world wide pandemic. The only problem ( as if there’s only one) is there are factions that believe that if the Gods created the Pandemic it should not be stopped, that humanity deserves to die. Read along as Allegra has her visions, people try to assasinate her and a few other twists !! 4🌟💫✨’s !!

Really enjoyed reading this book. T.G. Ayer did not disappoint again. I have read all of her books. I really think teenagers and young adults would really love this book too. T. G. Ayer did add some usually not used words to replace what most people would use. This might discourage the younger crowd from enjoying the book, but I feel if they got pass the first chapter they would keep going. I can't wait for the next book in the Series.

Allegra just makes the book with Max along her side. Allegra has to accept so much and do so much, you just have to love her for it. I so hope Allegra and Max to get together in the end. I received an arc copy for my honest review.

It's a bit unnerving to know that someone can have so many enemies only because they have a gift.
Even though I know that's exactly how it is in real life.
Allegra is learning every day and so much seems to depend on her and her visions even though she doesn't understand how it works yet.
Full of suspense!

This is a good and imaginative story in an alternate reality. I enjoyed the elements of Greek Mythology so much. It's one of the draws that I brought me to this series. I'm pretty much hooked and eagerly awaiting the next installment. I love the idea of the Oracle and how that translated into this world.
