(در انتها به فارسی نظرم رو بیان کردم) A rather good and twisted story with a lot of excitement. An unconscious person is found in the hospital and is accused of murder by the police without remembering anything from the last night. Marley, as a private detective, must find out what happened to the accused
Okay i admit, if i didnt have the hard copy i would never come across the name of this book. Another reason of picking up this one was that it was thin(as a thriller). So, the main protagonist Nat Marley is a private investigetor(nothing special) whose routine work was investigating about bad debts, divorce, normal missing person cases. He is not a fan of violence or a job which includes a gun so he likes to stay safe. But eventually one murder case gets to him and it was kind of personal(yes, the name comes from here) as the main suspect was his assistant's brother. Further investigations leads him to different events and witnesses and he solves the crime pretty quickly(with a LITTLE help of NYPD an coast guard). The lackings were of a good plot twist as the reader himself can get to the conclusion. And the NYPD was also portrayed dumbly as they were providing and doing whatever Nat was saying. But somehow writer was able to keep up the suspence till the end. But again, there was no climax point :( The positive thing was the writing style- VERY fluent and writer was just delivering what he intended to. He didnt unnecessarily streched the story as it finished swiftly. A good time pass read nothing much serious.
Jose was charged with murder because he was found with a pistol with his fingerprint in a car, which did not belong to him. He lost his memory what happened that night and Marley, who was his sister’s boss and a private detective, would try to detect the missing part. The case was not only a simple murder case, it also related to illegal immigration from Russia. Someone wanted to trap Jose to bear the blame. Finally, Marley found out the truth and prove Jose was innocent. I could not believe that the police were so stupid because the evidences were so weak and it was obviously that Jose was trapped. Jose was lucky that Marley helped him find out the truth before the evidence disappeared. If Marley did not, I think Jose had to lie in prison for long years. However, the story happened in the novel so everything could be found out successfully. I think if the same situation happens in a reality, what the victim could do is to get a lawyer to litigate… Besides, the other thing surprise me is the real criminal, who ordered the subordinate to commit the murder, was a woman. It is really a kind of stereotype such as people usually think a nurse is always a woman. Until I read the consequence, I found out the criminal was a woman; it was entirely different what I guessed before. I think it is also a good example to remind me not to have too many presumptions before knowing a truth.
This story is fiction. Nat Marley who is an investigater in New York, were involved a prbolem. The problem is not for Nat Marley but for Jose who is a member of his assistant Stella's kid brother. He was found on 112th Street just off Lexington Avenue, Upper East Side. He was lying unconscious with head injures but he actually doesn't have own car and worst thing is he has no memory of what he was doing.
Nat Marley, licensed private investigator, describes himself as "just an ordinary-looking guy, bald, overweight and on the wrong side of forty. However, he is very smart and he attracts people. The people around him were always helpful and his investigation went very well. His case was solved amazingly quickly.
This book totally blew my mind, i spent hours in my house reading this book because its full of alluring points and involves lots of crime-solving parts
It was the first English book I had ever finished in my life until then. The story is really easy to follow and since it is a detective book, it is really exciting. My first book! It was a good start!
