I <3 Felicity! She is too cute and fun and I wish she was real so we could hang out. The concept of a cupid who can matchmake anyone in her school by sending them an e-mail on her special PDA is so cool and the writing is so funny! This is a seriously cute and fun book teens will love.

I love this book and rereading it was great! Felicity is great and the whole Cupid take was a really interesting take. More people should read this!

Stupid Cupid is a fabulously funny novel that I simply adored. Sure, it doesn’t have a ton of depth or the best of writing, but it does have three main characters that I ( and other teens) can relate easily to and a premise that was an interesting take off of 'cupid' making this a fun read for teen girls everywhere.
Anyway, getting back to the main characters. Felicity, Andy, and Maya were all girls that were definitely not stereotypical and had several different layers to them that made you enjoy reading about them. My favorite out of the three would probably by Felicity, even though in real life I'm more of Maya, because I loved how Rhonda didn't make her the typical skinny semi bitchy girl you could have seen with her character, instead having her be normal sized one who was not only hilarious, but had a heart of gold when it came to wanting the best for friends. And talking about friends, it was nice to see what strong of a friendship the girls had and how they never would let a boy get in between them.
Further more, I loved, LOVED, the premise! Since, it was so cool to see how Felicity’s job worked and how her matches ended up turning out after the two week spell was over. Plus, as Chelsea at The Page Flipper mentioned in review, I really liked how Stupid Cupid didn't deal with the main character finding love, but Felicity instead finding love for her friend. It was a really cute idea and it showed even more how far Felicity would go to make her friends be the happiest they can be. Though, I do hope Felicity finds her prince charming, over the next two novels. Yep, TWO MORE! =)
Overall, Stupid Cupid is a book you should definitely pick up come December. I really can't wait to see where Rhonda takes Felicity next, because these books have major potential to get even more fabulous as time goes on.

A great start for a series!
If your looking for a story with a lot of depth this isn't the book for you. But if you looking for something light, fluffy and feel good, than Stupid Cupid is right up your alley!
It's entertaining, funny.. lots of laugh-out-loud moments! The plot itself was a little predictable, but it was still interesting enough to keep you turning the pages. From the description, I thought it was going to be more along the lines of Felicity finding out she is related to the "real cupid"....possibly a descendant..... but really she just gets hired at a company and gets the title as "cupid."
The characters were fantastic, I really enjoyed Felicity and her friends. They just seemed very realistic, and they were not the stereotypical characters that you'd expect.
Overall, just a fun book! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series and hoping that cupid sends an arrow in Felicity's direction!

I really enjoyed this book; it was a perfect read for February. I liked the whole “cupid” angle and thought it was fun seeing Felicity matching her fellow classmates up. There were some funny scenes; one line pops into mind about apples that had me laughing out loud, which wasn’t a good thing since I was sitting at the DMV at the time. Felicity, Maya and Andy were fun to read about and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
I would have liked a little more background story on Cupid’s Hollow, the history of cupids, and maybe a better reason why Felicity was hired (like a family history, sheer talent…something). I also would have liked to see a few more matches, one a week was a little low and Felicity never really spent any time “in the office” or working on her profiles. I guess I would have liked to have seen her working more?

This book wasn't really worth reading. The author came to our library this past week, so I thought I would give it a try.
It is a teen drama that I think the author put too much effort into. She had swear words where there weren't any needed and it was sort of a boring story. With that said, I have requested book #2 from the library. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a series of books.
Felicity Walker is hired as a "cupid" for a dating company. She is able to send emails that, once opened, are able to make 2 people fall in love..for 2 weeks. After that, either they stay together or they break up.
Unfortunately, she uses it on her best friend. It wouldn't have been so bad, except for she sent the email to 3 boys, instead of just one. Chaos hits the fan when she tries to juggle all of them.

Got about half way through before I gave up trying to care about the story and characters. The premise was interesting, but there was just something about the writing I didn't care for. Maybe it was just too immature and Felicity (that's her name, right? I kept forgetting who everyone was because I didn't much care) was just too stupid. You see her make obvious mistake after obvious mistake, just knowing it's all going to blow up in her face. I'm all for funny drama in books, but this was too contrived. She couldn't be quite that stupid, could she? To consistently make the worst possible decisions unnecessarily? The story was playing out like an episode of some cheesy and uber predictable sitcom.
I never made it to the point where everything came back to bite her, but it's pretty obvious that almost every decision she's made in the first 100 pages will.
On top of that, it was like the author was trying too hard to be cool with typical YA readers. There were out of place and unnecessary swear words sprinkled throughout, and then the girls steal alcohol from one of their parents for no apparent reason. It was just so random, it came off as stupid rather than cool or whatever she was going for.

Though Rhonda is a skilled and imaginative writer, this novel falls a little flat. As the mother of a teen, I know that there is always something going on amongst high school teens - even the so-called "nerdy /isolated" ones. This had the feel of a woman writing a teen novel from a more removed standpoint. It didn't feel quite like a 'teen' novel (I was studying the YA book because I was planning on venturing into the genre with my next novel).
Albeit, it is a good novel, and the writer is talented, the novel falls too flat, short of any real excitement. It would have been great to have seen more of Andy's life as well. She seemed like a character that Ms. Stapleton could have explored a little deeper to add more depth to the storyline.

I loved the idea behind this book...won't give much away except for the fact that the main character is a "real-life" cupid, that exists in America (along with others), who are specially chosen...what happens next is funny, witty and engaging! It's a nice, fun read for those interested.

I just finished my new book today, it’s called Stupid Cupid by Rhonda Stapleton. I think this was an interesting and very odd book but I liked the idea.
Felicity believes in true love (and is also broke) so she applies for a job at a match making company called Cupids Hollow. What Felicity doesn’t realizes is she isn`t just going to be matching people up from a dating site, she will be matching people up from her school. The cool thing about Felicity`s job thought is she isn’t just a match maker, she is a cupid! (There’s more than one you know!)
Now that Felicity has a job she learns about the quirks. She now has the power to make people fall in love! The bad part, she can’t make dreamy Derek love her. She has to do that the old fashion way. Felicity is given a LoveLine3000 and a manual and sent out. (But she doesn’t read the manual!)
Now out an about Felicity starts making profiles of the people at her school and makes a few matches. She then decides to hook up her best friends Andy and Maya. However things don’t go so well with Andy, she is sworn off guys. So she turns to Maya.
When hooking Maya up Felicity goes through a list of people and decides she can’t chose between the top three. Ignoring a big rule Felicity makes Ben, Josh and Quentin fall in love with Maya.
Maya now juggling three guys who don’t know about each other reaches out to her friends to help her when she accidentally says she will go to the movies with Quentin and Josh on the same night. Things get messy but they manage to live as Maya continues dating the three guys, but can’t decide who The One is.
Felicity makes more matches and a few last passed the two week mark until the magic wears off and people decide they want to say together but others didn’t. However Felicity soon forgets about that when she makes her parents love spark for their anniversary. (Ugh! They were getting busy whenever they could!)
When the drama of her parents pass Felicity and her friends go to the school basket ball game that Maya Performs her trumpet solo with the rest of the school band. Ben happens to be the announcer and totally embarrasses Maya! Josh apart of the band makes up a song just for Maya and also REALLY embarrasses her. And the whole time Quentin is taking photos for the school year book!
The guys found out about each other that night and had a huge fight. Maya decided none of them were right for her and decided that a guy she was crushing on before Felicity matched her was The One. Maya is now bolder and stronger than ever before.
Felicity made a bunch of BAD choices but a bunch of good ones too and the best part? Now Andy wants a boyfriend...

I’m actually reading the omnibus, but I wanted to post the reviews for each book separately.
I’ve found that with YA books, if it’s not paranormal or a re-telling of a fairy tale, I find them to be a bit young for me. Not that they’re not good, it’s just that the paranormal tales often seem to be more like adult books, but with teenagers, while books like Stupid Cupid are more teen-like. I know this is kind of a stupid thing to say since they’re YA books, but that’s just the way it is.
That said, this was a decent book. It was peppered with plenty of humor, just enough cussing and, with the way Felicity was creating the matches, disasters waiting to happen, all of which saved it from being a bit too YA.
All of the characters were exactly as they should be, you liked the main character and sympathized with her family problems (her parents doing it when she came home and her immature jerk of a brother who happens to be a cop); her friends were loyal with Andy being the pretty sarcastic one and Maya being the sweet, shy one; the love interest was cute, funny and nice (despite being slightly bland) and the mean girls were mean. Pretty much what you’d imagine would be in a YA book, though I don’t mean that in a bad way, the characters were just a bit…expected is the only word I can come up with. However, the premise of a teen playing cupid was unique enough to set it apart from the run of the mill teen romance novel.
Though they didn’t ruin the story, there were a few of things I had problems with, like why Felicity’s boss, Janet, wasn’t checking up on her matches or why we didn’t see more meetings between the two of them. Also, though I know Cupid’s Hollow wants to focus on teens more to expand their customer base, the vetting process for teen cupids seemed kind of lax. And if people are creating forced pairings, wouldn’t you think the company would take it a bit more seriously and ensure that their cupids actually read the manual or require them to take classes or pass an aptitude test? Also, I would’ve liked to have learned more about the company itself.
Overall, a fluffy, breezy read, with the humor and appealing main character being my favorite parts. I will be reading the next books in the series at some point, and though I know it’s probably not going to happen, I’d just like to see a bit more tension develop between the characters or for them to at least be less predictable.

This is such a light, fluffy book that I couldn't help but be drawn to it. Best of all, it wasn't a disappointment. I shall be reading the rest of the series!

Before I start this review, I would like to say that Stupid Cupid is more like a Simon Romantic Comedy than just a regular Simon Pulse book. I went into it thinking that it might be a little bit serious, and a little less predictable, than a regular Simon Rom-Com, but that was not the case.
My main thing with this book was that it was very predictable. I guessed what was going to happen at the end about halfway through the book. It didn't keep me wondering what was going to happen, and that disappointed me. I would've liked to have kept myself guessing at least a little bit.
Another thing that I thought could have been improved was the character's development. To me, none of the characters were really developed as they could have been. Felicity was a bit more developed than the other characters, but still not as developed as she should have been, being the main character.
The last thing that I didn't really enjoy about this book was that I was never really interested or drawn into the book. I didn't really care for the characters or what they were going through, I never really felt what the characters were feeling. It was almost like I was just kind of going through the motions as I was reading because I had to.
Now, onto some good things. The premise of the story was very good. As far as I know, there aren't any young adult books about cupids. The premise was really the best thing about the book, in my opinion. Also, as many of you know, I'm a sucker for cute endings, like the endings in Simon Rom-Coms. Now, I'm not going to give the ending away, but let's just say I liked it. (:
Overall, Stupid Cupid was a good debut novel. I look forward to reading the next book in the trilogy. I hope that Stapleton works on the writing and making the characters more developed... that would make me enjoy the books much more. A ridiculously laugh-out-loud funny novel. There weren't really any depth or good writing style but it was just funny in general. It was easy to relate to the girls in this book.
The three main characters, Felicity, Maya and Andy are best friends forever. They've had each other's back for the longest time so it's natural that Felicity would want to help boost Maya's love life. And watching it unfold with its twists and surprises was hilarious.
Though none of the characters had any real depth in them, no mysterious aspect about them, I found the book to be enjoyable.
The plot itself was original and entertaining. The idea of a modern aged cupid with a PDA and arrows that are shot through emails was very creative.
The themes of the story are definitely friendship and love. Friendship because of the obvious relationship that the three girls have with each other. They are so close that they won't let a boy get between them. Love because of the obvious cupid-like theme where Felicity finds love for her best friend.
The one thing that surprised me was the fact that this book wasn't about her finding love for herself but instead, for her friend. It also shows their obvious closeness to one another. But I do think that in one of the next two novels in this series, I'm sure she will find love for herself.

My Thoughts: I had been really looking forward to this series and I waited until all 3 books were released until I started so I didn't have to wait a long time to read each one! We start off being introduced to Felicity who is a teenager who needs a job. She is best friends with Maya and Andy. I just love all their names, so creative! She gets a job at a matchmaking company. No, its not one you've ever heard of! Its called Cupid's Hollow. She barely reads the manual and just starts hooking people up by a few random similarities. Things backfire for her, but the biggest backfire of all is when she matches up Maya with 3 different guys. Sure they all have a few things in common with Maya but are any of them right for her? And than there is Felicity's problem, she has the hots for a guy named Derek who barely notices she's alive. You know the one, the jock in high school you wish would notice you but somehow you are always overlooked to him. Stupid Cupid was a fun quick read. It was full of laughs and happy/fun moments. Don't we all wish we could have three boyfriends? Maybe in theory but after a while it would get too complicated and Maya had just that problem. Trying to go to the movie with 2 guys is quite the task. I really loved Stupid Cupid and can't read to read the next book in the series. If you want to know what happens with Maya, Andy, and Felicity, read the book now!
Overall: Loved this one! It was just the right sweet blend of happiness and hilarious moments. Rhonda is a very talented funny author!

Summary: Felicity applies for and gets a job as a cupid. She is assigned to match up couples in her high school. This starts off well enough but when she matches her friend Maya up with three guys (a big no-no), things could turn ugly.
Why I Read: I had seen some reviews of it and I liked the concept.
My Thoughts: I don't know if I've read too much YA lately or if I'm becoming blase but I found this rather predictable and the main character very aggravating. Her attitude toward her job was infuriating-she didn't follow the most basic instructions, she didn't try to read the manual all the way through, and she was very lucky that her boss did not figure out her deceptions and that nothing was ruined through her actions.
On the bright side, I really liked Maya who is torn between three guys because each of them have a little bit in common with her and is unable to make up her heart. I liked Felicity's parents and am interested to learn more about her brother who was very loosely drawn. Then there is their other friend Andy who I think will be matched with someone in the second book. And her crush Derek sounds okay, although he reminds me of Derek from The Swan Princess (not necessarily a bad thing).
Overall: 3.5 out of 5 for an annoying heroine but fun concept and likeable supporting cast.
Cover: I think the cover is cute-simple but eye catching.

I normally would have passed on this type of book just by looking at the cover because I would have thought it to be realistic fiction and I am not all that into that type of genre. Not because this cover isn't attractive but it would not have normally appealed to me because it looks like one of those girly realistic love stories. I am so glad that I went to a book signing and heard Rhonda talk about this book. Rhonda is extremely funny in person and I just knew if a tenth of her personality came out in these books they would be fantastic. After reading this book I may have to reevaluate what type of books that I pick up and what I push aside just because of what a treasure this book is.
I normally like more of the supernatural books but I also love comedy so this book really hit home with me. I am a huge fan of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and I can honestly say that this book gave me the same joy that I get from reading Janet's books. Felicity is a fun, quirky and just a normal teenage girl. She has an awesome job that might not always be as awesome as she first thought. There are just so many funny moments in this book. I honestly say that this was one of the funniest books I have read this year. I am looking forward to reading more of this series and seeing if someone will play cupid for Felicity.

Felicity proves herself to be a happy-go-lucky. As the story progresses, she learns that just like every job, her matchmaking demands a responsible attitude. With every mistake she commits, Felicity emerges with a better judgment of right and wrong when it comes to cupidity matters. I liked her but I found myself raising my eyebrow at some of the things she did, specifically the fact that she matched Maya with three guys at once. I was dreading that Maya would end up like the girl of Felicity’s first failed match. Another thing was that I was expecting the part where Felicity comes up with a plan to set it all right before the love spell ends. It didn’t happen. Since the problem solved itself by fading, it wasn’t appealing and thrilling to me. I was looking for heavier consequences and much more pressure.

Felicity is givin a PDA, one that is magical, it sends emails instead of arrows, the latest cupid technology. But Felicity soon finds out that being a cupid isn't as easy as she thought it would be. She's made her first love match, two kids from school, and it seems to be going well.
Her best friend Maya is a great girl, but a little shy. So Felicity decides to match up Maya, but she wants to give Maya choices, so she matches her to 3 guys that Felicity thinks will be perfect for her. But, she learns quickly that there is a reason for the one match to each person rule. With Maya torn between the 3 guys, Felicity has to try to fix the problem, before something crazy happens to her friend, and before she loses her new job.

This is one of the cutest books I've read in a long time. It's about a girl who is Cupid...well actually who is A Cupid. She has no arrows, instead she has a pink PDA and emails of llllllooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeee!!!!!! Felicity starts matching people up, one of them being her best friend Maya, except she breaks a rule...she matches Maya up with THREE guys!! The three guys start vying for her attention, jumping through hoops just to get near her, and so much else!! Felicity is trying to juggle helping Maya decide who to pick, her gigantic crush on Derek, the one she's had since she first saw him her freshmen year, and her job of making lasting matches. When her first match doesn't last she becomes a bit disheartened, and even uses her hot-pink PDA to re-match her own PARENTS!! (NOT a good idea if you know what I mean!!) Felicity and her other best friend Andy try to help Maya in any way they can, but sometimes, they just have to let fate run it's course. When another of felicity's matches lasts after the two-week love spell, she feels that she may be better at this cupid thing then she thought!! I can't WAIT to read the sequel which is already out!!! Yay!!!

This book is too cute! All while being hilarious and totally original. I also must make a comment on the cover now - isn't it absolutely adorable? I lurve it! Rhonda Stapleton definately put a new view of "cupids" out there. I really liked how a big part of the book was focused on Maya's romance, while leaving Felicty hoping for a romance of her own.
I loved the characters. They were all so fresh. Felicity, Maya and Andy were all different from each other, but you could tell the bonds of friendship that would hold them together. I also liked that Rhonda Stapleton didn't really use a lot of stereotypical characters.
The book was filled with so many laugh-out-loud moments! Some character was always getting into something. Poor Felicity, there was no end to her mother embarassing her. Gosh was it funny, but I would have dropped dead on the spot in a few of those situations!
I cannot wait to see where this series goes with books 2 and 3. I don't know where that will be, but I'm sure it'll be fabulous!

But when Felicity matches her best friend, Maya with three different boys, her wonderful little plan starts falling apart. Now, Felicity must figure out how to fix it all before she loses her job and drives her friend (and herself) mad.
I have to say that this book was GREAT! Ms. Stapleton grabbed my attention from the beginning with Felicity’s witty sense of humor and held me captivated with everything new twist and turn. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Felicity’s world and what she will get herself into, because something tells me she is good at getting in a pickle.

WARNINGS: So cute and I loved it.
Stupid Cupid is a fantastic, fast read. This book was a very enjoyable, easy to read, and interesting enough to keep me turning the pages. Sometimes, I would even laugh out loud or giggle at whatever was happening (the situation between her parents, a prime example!). It was definitely a good way to start the series and I most certainly can’t wait to read more.
Felicity is the classic good friend, who of course causes a bit of trouble for her friend only while trying to help her out. She’s too shy to say more than a few words to her crush, Derek and being a cupid means she can’t make him fall for her.
I loved Stapleton’s simplicity and her ability to just allow you to flow through the story. I finished this book in one sitting, for goodness sake’s!
Addict’s Last Words: If you are looking for a light, fun read, Stupid Cupid is your book.
To Buy or To Borrow: I know I will read more of this series and whenever I like a series, I have to have all of them so this is a buy for me! Plus, it’s just cute!

With a tricked out cupid PDA Felicity decides to bend the rules and pair up her BFF Maya with 3 potential matches, with the idea that her friend would ultimitly decide who is the right one. The problem is, Maya cant decide. Now Felicity is trying to help Maya juggle 3 guys at once, keep making good matches, and trying to catch the eye of her crush Derrick. One disaster turns into another, and Felicity learns an importnat lesson in love.
This book was wonderful, mindless reading. Nothing too complicated, and the story was fleshed out very well. Perfect for an airplane ride or by the pool reading.

This is just my opinion, and I hesitate to be so negative because I know this is an author's hard work here... but I really, really didn't like this book. Didn't finish it. Didn't get past the first quarter of the book. I found myself staring at the words going "...what the hell is this?" Maybe it's because I don't read much contemporary fiction, but this had a speculative element so I expected it to be on a par with other books of a similar genre. Not at all.
I got this book for free as a prize in a contest, so thankfully I didn't actually spend my money on it, but if I had, I would've been seriously disappointed. It's such a cute idea, but terrible execution. Maybe I just dislike the style of book where the narrator sounds like an airheaded bimbo--not all teenaged girls go "Like, omg, THIS guy is soooOOOoooOOOoo cute omfgfff hahalol." And those who do certainly aren't characters I want to read about.
For me, this is the marshmallow peep of books. I'm sure there's someone out there who likes it, but it's fluffy and unsatisfying and leaves me regretting I ever decided to try it.
