“Can you do me a favor?” I touched her arm before she could get away.
She looked at my hand and then peered under my hood at my eyes. “Yeah?”
“Tell them it’s from you though, okay? If they think I bought them drinks they would all leave their husbands. And I’m big on respecting marriages.”
“Yes. We had a lot of sex.”
“I need the stats. My imagination is killing me.” Becca hit a few buttons on her phone that interrupted our conversation with loud tones.
As soon as it was safe to talk again I spoke, “Are you sitting down?”
I could hear a chair squeak as Becca collapsed into it. “Now I am. Stats.”
“I’ll cut to the chase. A nice nine inches. Thick. Covered in strong abs.” I waited as she gasped.
“No. Oh my gosh. He is ribbed for your pleasure?” she whispered.
I closed my eyes and leaned into the palm of his hand. I felt the shaking then. He was scared.
I turned my head and pressed both my palms on the back of his knuckles so he wouldn’t pull away. Then I kissed the center of his hand.
He was a good man. And I trusted him. Dick took to his knees in front of me like I was a prayer he was about to say. I was still holding his hand.
“Hendrix.” His deep voice was rough.
I shivered a little thinking of him smash into me with all he had. I whispered back. “He can clench it in different directions. He can curve it to hit my G spot.”
“Sweet Nelly.”
“And he never stopped rubbing my clit. He licked me like I was a spoonful of chocolate icing and he was a sugar addict.” I stopped at another light and clenched a few times. “He’s like a sex superhero. He’s so strong. Like flip me around like he was a caveman strong. I can not wait to get more of Dick’s dick in me.”
“Yeah, I’m going to have to call you back. Me and my vibrator just made a date.”
Becca ended the call and I had to laugh again. She was the best. I knew she would love the details. I knew she would be looking straight at Dick’s crotch the next time we met.

Hilarious romance
OMG!!! This rates a magnificent five stars! At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath, and yes, I snort went I laugh. Then this author, Debra Anastasia, ad me embroiled in some hot, romantic sex! Then, you fear for the lives of our hero and heroine! A must read!!!

DNF 1 word weird just WEIRD I don't usually rate a book I haven't finished but with this I had to, I don't know if it was me, did I miss the humour?! but WTF, Dick Dongy (and yes that was his real name not some bad porno star) literally had abs on his face, his arms, his ass cheeks, his dick & balls???? nope just nope!

If you're looking for a serious story DO NOT READ THIS. I'm serious! I usually do not rate books that I don't finish, but this warrants a rating. I am actually mad.....
I had no idea what this was about aside from the blurb (which to be honest is really good and the reason I picked it up). Stupid me picked this up thinking I'd get something seriously great like Poughkeepsie. I guess the joke was on me.
The guy's name is Dick Dongy, and he supposedly has many sets of killer abs..like even on his arms and face. I thought it was just a figure of speech because he's supposedly ripped. Well, after finding a teaser with a pic of superimposed abs all over the guy combined with the numerous times it's mentioned that he has abs on his face and arms I got seriously mad. I wanted a sincerely good book and what I got was a big joke. I'm even more upset because nothing in the description even alludes to this -- so misleading. What a HUGE waste of my time. It's sad because such great writing and a good storyline was wasted on this "book". Beyond disappointed.

WTF Did I Just Read & Why Am I Smiling??
This is my first read by this author & it is absolutely like no other book I have ever read.
Honestly, for a few pages there at the beginning, I had a couple of giggles, but I was mostly like... 'ummm, okkkkkaayyy.... but maybe keep reading a bit more before you give up' and then *BOOM*!!!
I could not put it down.
I devoured every word like a group of kids left alone with a birthday cake. I hoovered it up.
It's funny, smart, suspenseful, sweet, sexy, heart breaking, heart wrenching & steamy as all get out.
This is the perfect book to teach me a lesson about preconceived notions - in more ways than one - because I sure changed my mind in a big way.
Seriously - if you want to read a romance book that's most probably unlike anything you've read before, then this is it.
Let Hendrix & Dick Dongy into your kindle, keep an open mind & I promise you, they'll have your heart in no time.

I can't even describe what I just read. It was outrageous, ridiculous, corny...and strangely enjoyable. I love a good Beauty and the Beast re-tell, and this truly was. It was so funny, tongue-in-cheek, and I think it was meant to be satirical. If not, then I owe the author an apology...seriously, the hero's name is Dick Dongy!! I absolutely loved this story and had a great adventure reading it.

I want it known that the only reason I'm writing this review is the because of the P.S. at the end of the book!! (only kidding I loved it)
This was a fantastic take on Beauty and the Beast.
I love Debra Anastasia's books as she always manages to get the right balance of love and laughs. Beast was another of her books that once I started I couldn't even stop to make a tea, which from me is a huge compliment.
My favourite line in the story was "Hold out your hands like a baby bat table" I had to reach for the tissues as I was crying with laughter by this line.
Henry is strong and feisty, Dick Dongy is a bodybuilding serial killer and the sex is ridiculously hot.

Weirdly ever after
When this story begins, Dick seems like an unlikely hero. He is just weird. Really weird. Henry (female) is a wannabe actress turned bartender. The two meet, and it is obvious that Dick is not thought fondly of by the town. Such a beast of a man. However, nuggets of the true Dick are dropped, and Henry, being the smart woman that she is, picks those nuggets up and recognizes gold when she is holding it. However, there is ugliness in their world, and it threatens the couple.
I really enjoyed this story, though it wrapped up just a little too quickly at the end. I laughed out loud a few times, and I even choked up a few times. Dick was a wonderful hero. Tough and vulnerable are my catnip when it comes to heroes. I liked that the heroine is a genuinely nice person and honest. It was nice to read about a couple who are both worth cheering for.

I've loved books that this Author has wrote and I've been absolutely confused by others. This was one of the others, maybe I'm just not getting the appeal of the abs everywhere? He's a beast that thinks he's a beauty, a reverse stalker that made his own Wikipedia page for his imaginary groupies, but worst of all... his name is Dick Dongy. Yes, you read that correctly, his name is Dick Dongy. I love Debra Anastasia's strange Characters usually but I could barely get through this one.

I barely finished it. Sorry, Dick Dongy, you were not for me. I just didn't get it. I don't know if it was meant to be a joke on itself and I the reader wasn't let in on it.

I liked the characters, but the plot was ridiculous.
I really liked Dick and Henry. At the beginning, Dick was a bit confusing with him constantly acting like everyone was throwing themselves at him, but once I got past that (or just ignored it while it was happening), I really liked him. I liked Henry and how she formed her own opinion of Dick instead of just listening to rumours.
I really liked the animals (squirrel, owl, bat, and raccoon), but I wanted the book to be longer as you don’t really get to see much of them.
At the end, things go crazy and resolve very quickly without really showing how. I thought that Dick and Henry’s relationship development wasn’t shown enough for how dramatic the ending was.
While I liked the characters, I’m not sure if I’m going to try any other books by this author as there were certain things that really bothered me about both of the books I’ve read that were by her.

Kitabın arka kapağını okuyunca anlamamıştım o yüzden açıp okudum. Hunharca güldüm. Bir noktada üzüldüm. Genel olarak "Ay ne şekeeeer" deyip durdum. Kitap hanım ablamız Henry'nin çalıştığı bara gelen Dick Dongy ile başlıyor. Dick kadınların ona aşık olacağından %100 emin, çünkü her yanında kasları var. Zavallı kadıncıklar onu stalklama zahmetine girdiklerinde yorulmasınlar diye telefonlarını alıp kendi numarasını kaydediyor, Wikipedia'da kendisi hakkında sayfa hazırlıyor falan. Ve Henry'yi de ilk gün uyarıyor "Bana aşık olma tatlı kız" diye :D
Böyle söyleyince çok itici gibi, değil mi? Ama değil :D Çünkü kitap belli ki ironi ve bir miktar da dalga geçmek için yazılmış. Kısacık Beauty And The Beast yorumu, ama ölümüne komik. Son dönemlerde kaslı adam yazma merakındaki herkese yüzünde baklavaları olan bir adam yazarak cevap vermiş :D Zaten bardalarken arka taraftaki yazar hatun grubunu falan okuyunca dedim tamam, yazar bunu kendisi için yazmış :D İyi ki de yazmış ya. Dick aşırının aşırı kaslı bir adam olarak hep dışlansa da annesi tarafından "onu gören her kadın ona aşık olacağı için" kendisini saklama dürtüsüyle büyütülmüş. Kendisine yönelmiş ters bakışları hep buna saymış, bir koruma mekanizması geliştirmiş. İnsanlar onu anlamamış, yol kenarındaki ölü hayvanlarını gömdüğü ve arabasında bu tür malzemeler olduğu için seri katil demişler falan. Bu kısımlar üzücüydü. Beast'in Henry'ye karşı aşktan da öte "umut" hissetmesiyle falan, kısacık bir novella olmasına rağmen çok ama çok sevdirdi bana kendisini kitap. This book was a romantic comedy that had me laughing so much from the main characters name right down to the places he had abs on. As much as this book will have you laughing it is in actual fact quite a sweet love story. I gave this book five stars as it made me smile from start to finish.

I mean....my face hurt so much from smiling and loling from this book. Debra wrote one hell of a story.
Dick Dongy....I mean what more can I say about him...his name says it ALL right? Well he is very complex. He might seem like a big bad guy, but he is a softy at heart.
Henry...well she is feisty as hell. She is NOT scared of Dongy at all.
This is kind of like a really really funny twist on Beauty and the Beast. I mean I don't even have words to describe it how I want to with out giving it away...so just trust me that you need this book and it will make your heart happy!!!

What did I just read?!
This was not exactly what I expected. And at the beginning I kept thinking "am I missing something?" Abs on his face? I didn't get it. At all. I stuck with it though because I know Debra Anastasia has a quirky sense of humor. It was funny. I found myself smirking a lot during the beasts internal monologue. The beast whose unfortunate name is Dick Dongy. It was really hard to read that over and over and wonder why he didn't just go by Richard.
So for most of the book I couldn't tell if it was a serious book or if it was making fun of romance novels or what. But I'm really glad I stuck with it because Debra Anastasia has a way of writing a character that is weird, and a little unsettling at times, but that by the end you just love. How could you not love him by the end. He was just so good. He deserved to be loved.
But I don't recommend this to anyone who can't read it with an open mind. It is quirky and goofy and completely unrealistic. Some things are way over the top, like anything having to do with the angry mob. But if you're interested in just being entertained and don't take it too seriously, its an enjoyable read. I just wish I would have known going into this that thats the kind of book it was.
Also if you stick with it to the end, the abs thing is explained.

This is a romantic comedy and not a serious story. When I started reading up till about 16% I actually couldn't believe the main male character, named Dick Dongy, could be that crazy. But the poor main female character, Hendrix (Henry) Lemon would and had dated men crazier, and been on crazier dates. I was reading while my husband and I were taking a car trip. Every time I came to a funny part, I would read aloud to him. He was laughing and told me to just keep reading to him. It made our trip go so fast.
Dick Dongy had abs. Everywhere. Like abs for days. Abs on his face. Abs on his arms. Abs! And somehow he thought this makes him irresistible. He's a beast that thinks he's a beauty. Like in Beauty and the Beast there is a fair maiden, but she is the one that does most of the rescuing. Hendrix was one protective woman. This is a short romantic comedy and should just be read as such and enjoyed. And they came happily ever after.

Well that would be Mz. Debra Anastasia...and this extremly quirky but heart warming read would be Beast. Right from the start you will laugh! I mean once you see the "H"s name....only Debra could come up with this one! It really is great and soooo far outside the typical box that you can't help but smile. Plus there's some angst, drama, stupid red necks, and a possible serial killer.
A quick page turner that will having you thinking "am I really still reading this" but yet loving every page.

Once again, this author took me by surprise. Who else but Debra Anastasia could write this absurd but hilarious, unique and sweet tribute to the tale of Beauty and the Beast ? No one else, that's who. This author take goofy ingredients, chew, then spit it to the next level of holy-shit-what-did-I-just-read. But she makes her story not only beautiful but one of a kind.
Hendrix is a failed actress who moved back to her home town and work at a bar. One night she meet the man everyone talk about for different reason. First of all, there's the rumor about him being a serial killer and second of all, his look is certainly singular (not so polite people would say weird or a freak). And there's the fact he sometimes say strange douche shit.
So here's the thing: if you can forget about the very absurd detail that Dick Dongy have abs all over, like even where's it's impossible to have abs, you have a a charming love story with a fierce heroine and the most gentle and compassionate hero. No matter how ridiculous his name sound, Dick stole my heart when I learned the truth behind his serial killer's reputation (okay, I think it might be the weirdest sentence I ever wrote...).
I can't help but say it again, but I'm always amazed by this author's imagination. Whether you like her style or not, you have to admit there's no author like her and no one can compete with her uniqueness.

First of all, there's the rumor about him being a serial killer and second of all, his look is certainly singular (not so polite people would say weird or a freak). And there's the fact he sometimes say strange douche shit.
So here's the thing: if you can forget about the very absurd detail that Dick Dongy have abs all over, like even where's it's impossible to have abs, you have a a charming love story with a fierce heroine and the most gentle and compassionate hero. No matter how ridiculous his name sound, Dick stole my heart when I learned the truth behind his serial killer's reputation (okay, I think it might be the weirdest sentence I ever wrote...).
I can't help but say it again, but I'm always amazed by this author's imagination. Whether you like her style or not, you have to admit there's no author like her and no one can compete with her uniqueness.

Henry (female) is a bartender at a dive bar. Dick Dongy has abs all over his face, ass, and of course dick 
. What does that even mean. I should have stopped right there, but no I powered on. Dongy, reverse stalks females because he doesn't want to be hurt because of his appearance, so he says stupid things like, "Don't fall in love with me." and programing his phone number into unsuspecting phones. I couldn't tell if he was serious or sarcastic. He said these things in his internal monologue therefore I believe he was serious about his supernatural ability to have women falling at his feet. He's strange looking but a good guy because he rehabilitates road kill. Throw in a deranged blind date and jealous ex-beau, this was just a disaster.

Okay, so I'll start off by saying that I found this book after reading Mercy by the same author yesterday ( and loved it! ) - I really liked the bestie of the main female character in that book, Henry, and went looking to see if she had her own book. Which she does, this one - Beast.
I'm still not quite sure what to make of this one, it was a little weird at times. I understand from reading the whole book that Dick had his reasons for fobbing the ladies off due to being too handsome, not wanting them to become obsessed with him etc.......but still, it was kinda strange. I really liked Henry, she was a very sweet and funny character, and I enjoyed reading about her in this book and Mercy.

I've bought it on amazon for an amazingly low price, somewhere around 1$. On top of that i've bought it "blindly", did not read the blurb or the reviews. I am familiar with Debras work, so i did put my seatbealt on :) At first i didnt know what to make of it, the story, the names or the hero himself. It was weird. (Hello, it is written by Debra sooooo...)
I loved it.
It was a funny sunday read, a light and heartwarming story.
I like big guys. I love guys who loves animals. I just cant resist a guy who loves/loves his mum that much.
Dont take this story too seriously ( the guy name is Dick. Dick Dongy) and you are going to have a great time.

Perfect comical take on Beauty and the Beast!! I just loved it. It was FUNNY and it is written to be funny all the way around. It is light-hearted and very tongue in cheek. Quick, easy read and worth getting through the first couple of chapters to get to the understanding of the story... I just adored Dick.... Sweetest guy ever!!

DNF at 40%. I read Mercy first and absolutely loved it, so I was going into this one with high hopes. I was even more exited to find out that it was Hendrix and Dick's story. But I was highly disappointment, I just didn't understand the humor in this one. There's only so many times that I can hear about Dick's abs on abs without it getting to be too much for me.
