Guy Sigley was born to parents who were both in the entertainment industry.
Guy studied Law and Arts at Deakin University but soon found out that excessive study really got in the way of reading fiction. After eventually graduating with a double degree, Guy started writing after being inspired by his favourite authors.
As well as being a writer, Guy is a podcaster. He experimented with two seasons of the music and 90s-themed, The Guy Sigley Show, and is now in his fourth year of hosting The One-Eyed Dog podcast with his twin brother, Dave, and great mate, Smitty, all about the Western Bulldogs AFL club.
Guy has coached junior soccer and netball, having never played either game, was a committee member of the local soccer club, dabbles in goal umpiring, and enjoys an occasional stint on the boundary.
He lives in Melbourne with his wife, who is a doctor, three children and a ragdoll cat.
I loved this book. It is a true real good/feel good story. I fell in love with all the characters. I cried and laughed with them, was embarrassed for them, was angry for them, I cheered for them, and many more emotions. (You can tell I got quite invested in these characters). There were some hokey parts that seem a little stretched but that’s what real good/feel good stories are! I would recommend this fictional book to anyone looking for a break from deep, raw stories. I found it quite well written. The best humour/fiction I’ve read to date.
This book caught my eye because Emily is the name of my son's wife and I wondered what the dilemma was. I read the first chapter using the "Look Inside" feature and I was hooked. I found the story warm and clever and felt immediately attached to the characters. There were a few parts of the book that I found a bit helter-skelter and confusing, but overall, it is a very funny and entertaining read.
Written from Barney's perspective who is not your normal here. This book is refreshingly funny. I often laughed out loud and smiled continually. Characters are well developed and plot is one in a million. Read it to see what I mean.
I loved this book. I found my self actually laughing out loud and my tears were the same. It was good for my heart, soul and spirit and loved the way it ends.
