It was a shocking experience that jump-started Brenda Novak’s bestselling author career.

“I caught my day-care provider drugging my children with cough syrup and Tylenol to get them to sleep while I was away,” Brenda says. “It was then that I decided that I needed to do something from home.”

However, writing was the last profession she expected to undertake. In fact, Brenda swears she didn’t have a creative bone in her body. In school, math and science were her best subjects, and when it came time to pick a major in college, she chose business.

Abandoning her academic scholarship to Brigham Young University at the age of 20 in order to get married and start a family, Brenda dabbled in commercial real estate, then became a loan officer.

“When I first got the idea to become a novelist, it took me five years to teach myself the craft and finish my first book,” Brenda admits. “I learned how to write by reading what others have written. The best advice for any would-be author: read, read, read….”

Brenda sold her first book, and the rest is history. Now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she continues to publish two or three novels a year, in a variety of genres.

Brenda and her husband, Ted, live in Sacramento and are the proud parents of five children—three girls and two boys. Now that they are empty-nesters, she spends her free time babysitting her two grandchildren.

When she’s not with her family or writing, Brenda is usually raising money for diabetes research. To date, she's raised almost $2.6 million. Her youngest son, Thad, has diabetes, and Brenda is determined to help him and others like him. She also enjoys traveling, watching sporting events and biking--she rides an amazing 20 miles every day!

It may not be called cheating for the sake of technicality, however, this was one emotional doormat hero who was weakest of the weak who cheated on the both women. Physical AND emotionally on the OW and emotionally on the heroine.
He KNEW what difficult situation heroine was in yet he kept on jumping her without even the promise of future restraints in his part when he has promised the OW he’ll try to start over.
And WTF does he mean he didn’t cheat on the OW with h, because they weren’t exclusive? He gave her a promise to start over for the sake of the baby. Sounds like commitment enough to me. Because for it to be an open relationship the OW will have to agree, which she at no point of time did. What exactly did he fucking think starting over entails? This has to be the lamest attempt of the author trying to make a weak hero look honourable!

IF he didn’t agree to her machinations and manipulation, his words should have been “I’ll try things out with you AFTER the baby is born and IF it’s mine.”

It was SO degrading and insulting how he was using the issue of OW to the heroine who’s already bruised and battered and he was damaging her more!

Heroine was suitably mortified to know that he took her to bed the first time AFTER he found out about the pregnancy and agreed to work things out with OW.

It wasn’t until he realised that heroine CAN and most likely will move on to someone else as she’ll start counting him as taken and she’s not going to live as a monk, that he finally broke things up with OW. Even then, he wasn’t strong enough.

It took heroine to completely shut him off, and telling him to go fuck himself as she won’t be second best to anyone, even his kids, to finally make the correct move. She had extremely valid points. IF you’re going to be in your kid’s life, I’ll support you as a partner but then I need to have the right place in your life. But if you’re going to drop me without even acknowledging me in future in favour to the OW, it means you want HER in your life too, then you need to make her your priority, she deserves nothing less, and you can’t keep me in the wings. You need to choose between the two, and frankly speaking you should marry the OW, she needs you, you can’t let her go. I don’t NEED you and I’ll get over you.

He finally realised he can’t have his cake and eat it too, and THAT was his motivation, NOT love.

Do you know how distasteful it was to read about him fucking the heroine and coming to his home and almost going to bed with the OW? Even if it’s just for sleep? Or even if they end up in different beds, how disturbing it is to read how she’s in his house throughout the night trying to seduce him?

Author tried to present the hero as honourable and dutiful. My personal opinion? Neither the author or the hero would know the meaning of honour if it smacked them on the face!

And as for the OW, she was evil and selfish and shallow and deserved everything that came her way except for false promises.

Oh yeah, heroine cracks the case against her ex by sneaking into her ex mother in laws basement by gathering evidence where police couldn’t get search warrant for.

Now putting aside the fact it’s dubious at its best, correct me if I’m wrong, any evidence acquired without a valid search warrant or beforehand reading rights can never be used in courts. That’s why warrants and Miranda rights are so fucking important, hey?

Also, what kind of a brother gets impatient at the fact that you’re being bullied at the town and you want to move to make a change because your ex husband was a psychopath?

Savanna Gray’s life is turned upside down when her husband is arrested and charged with the rapes of three women, one of them in their town. It doesn’t take long for life in Nephi, Utah to become intolerable so she packs up and moves with her two young children to her parents abandoned property in Silver Springs, California. Upon arrival, she meets her only neighbor in the remote street, Gavin Turner. He’s a carpenter, plays in a band and is pretty charming. He was also a resident of New Horizons Ranch as a teen so he’s got his own baggage, too. It’s the beginning of a nice friendship until it started to develop into something more.

There was a certain breeziness to Savanna and Gavin’s relationship, which I liked as neither was ready for a deeper commitment. She was dealing with some rough issues and her husband’s crimes were affecting her children. He was struggling with a past relationship that wouldn’t accept “no.” I also liked that there was a slight suspense element that made this story even more intriguing. There was a nice balance between Savanna’s redemption, her developing relationship with Gavin and the suspense surrounding her husband’s crimes. It all evolved seamlessly and nicely.

Veronica Worthington’s narration was wonderful and I’m enjoying her performances in this series. There aren’t many characters and she distinguishes them nicely while being a good storyteller. I’m loving the audio version and this series.

Right Where We Belong is a suspense contemporary romance by a master of romance writing, Brenda Novak.

After realizing her husband was arrested as a rapist, Savanna takes her children and herself to her unused family land in Silver Springs. Escaping the attacks and gossip mill of the locals in Utah. The home is in extreme disrepair and if it wasn’t for her kind neighbor Gavin her initial trip across the old bridge would have ended them all the creek.

Savanna is caught between believing her husband’s innocence and the overwhelming evidence until she can no longer support his attempts to get out of prison. His dysfunctional mother is abusive to Savanna and the threats begin to accumulate from her soon to be ex-husband, Savanna doesn’t have any interest in finding a man…but she can’t help but notice Gavin.

I did find a few character choices difficult to connect with (ie. police protocol, legal and illegal actions and reactions and sometimes the complete lack of actions).

Right Where We Belong is a lighter romantic suspense. The topic matter is not light and easy, including rape and murder but the romance, suspense and overall air of the storytelling is direct and easily consumed.

I received this ARC copy of Right Where We Belong from Harlequin - MIRA. This is my honest and voluntary review. Right Where We Belong is set for publication October 31, 2017.

I love this series! I hope she continues with the last few brothers from Horizon Ranch School. Gavin is so sweet but also very sexy. Heather got on my last nerve. Savannah was perfect for Gavin. A very brave woman. Mystery, romance, some humor, sex and a very good story!

At 50%: I was hoping that this would be a nice end for the Silver Springs series, but I have to admit that this is my least favourite story by far. Being that I'm already halfway through the book, I can easily say that I don't like neither MC nor the tropes. I already had a feeling that this book would follow the formula from the past three books, so that's not really the issue. Being that all four of the Hs from their respective books had troubled childhoods and were adopted by the same woman, I understand and find it easy to believe some of the issues that they share. My main problem, however, has been with the previous heroines. I can't stand how all of them turned into quivering bags of hormones when they were around the H in their respective stories. They all had thoughts along the lines of "I really shouldn't get into a relationship right now. My mind's not in the right space. I'm smarter than this." Girlfriend, if you still succumb to his muscle-y body and seductive grin, you aren't smarter than that, and the h in this book is no different. Of course, she has the classic "I only want you for one night" to "one night is never enough" turnabout face that I've come to expect from Brenda Novak's heroines. (I do exclude the h from the previous book Until You Loved Me because she was strong for a long time after the H reached out to her again.)

Add to that formula the H in this story who thinks that maybe his ex-girlfriend is pregnant with his baby. The ex-girlfriend whom he knows he doesn't love but he's tried multiple times in his life to make it work with her. The one he knew that was in love with him and felt more strongly for him than he did for her, but he kept trying (because it felt comfortable with her until it inevitably didn't) and breaking her heart over and over. The one who claimed that she was on birth control, so he decided to go without a condom, and then she supposedly ends up pregnant with his baby. If for nothing else, the H was an idiot. I don't like to call people names, but how much less smart could you get? I mean, seriously.

Then he decides to go the martyr route and give the ex-girlfriend yet another chance . (Of course he couldn't say no to the h's offer of a one night stand before he recommits to the ex.) I mean, I know he grew up in a dysfunctional household and I do empathize with that, but how does marrying his ex whom he does not love seem like a good solution? There is no solution that will make him happy, since he couldn't seem to stop himself from sleeping with a woman he didn't love, all while not wearing a condom. I'm hoping this gets better, but I have a feeling it'll just be more and more frustrating. Can't DNF a second book in a row, so I will continue on.

Later on, the MCs have sex outside. The H stops himself and tells the h that he doesn't have any protection. Her answer, "It's fine. I started taking the pill again, but I'm not sure how long it takes to be effective" to which he responds, "It's ok. I'll just pull out." I thought the MCs couldn't get any worse, but I was wrong. And after he finally tells the h about his maybe pregnant with his baby ex (whoa, that's a lot of words to type), she continues taking the pill anyway, on the off chance that he'll want to sleep with her. Knowing that the H has the ex over his house every night and not knowing what they're doing there. I kid you not. I can't even make this up. For a woman who loves strong women characters, the h offended me on so many levels.

1.5 stars. Upon finishing, one star for the engaging writing and half a star for the way the h tried to do what was right by the victims.

Right Where We Belong is another book in Brenda Novak's Silver Springs series. However it is perfect as a stand alone. Like the previous book I read in this series there is some romance, some crime, a little mystery - all in all, a good mix.

Savannah has had the misfortune to find herself married to someone who has been attacking women. He is in prison awaiting trial and she is suffering trial by public opinion so she decides to leave the small town and travel to California where there is a dilapidated home belonging to herself and her brother. She has two delightful but bewildered children and as well she has a whole lot of gumption.

Gavin is one of the past pupils of New Horizons Boys Ranch, he now works there and is a musician as well. He takes an immediate liking and attraction to Savannah when she arrives, and really helps her out where he can.

This does not please his prior girlfriend who is hoping to wheedle her way back into his life with a bit of blackmail and putting the screws into him where she knows it will count. Will she succeed?

When it looks like the police might not be able to close the case against Savannah's husband - soon to be divorced, Savannah after weighing up things decides to get a little more involved and takes some big risks. I found it a little scary as she did her own investigation!

A fun read, nice and relaxing on the whole, that mixture of romance and sizzle, a heroine making a stand for herself and a hero there to support her while she does it.

Right Where We Belong brought me right back to Silver Springs, where I followed the complicated romance between Savanna and Gavin. There was quite a bit of suspense surrounding them, and that wasn't the only thing working against them.

Review - (un)Conventional Bookviews
Story:
Savanna has been through a lot since her husband was arrested for several rapes. When people in the community turned against her, she figured she had to move so she and her children wouldn't encounter any more people screaming at her for standing by him at the beginning. Right Where We Belong then continues away from Utah, and unfolds mostly in Silver Springs.
Characters:
Savanna is a strong woman, who will do what she thinks is right, even when the odds are not in her favor. She is ready to step up to make sure her children feel safe. While she's wary of men and relationships in general, she might be able to make an exception for her new neighbor, Gavin.
Gavin can finally see the end of the tunnel after his on-again off-again relationship with Heather. When his new neigbor arrives with two young children in tow, he feels like things are falling into place for him. Only, they're really not!
Eli, Cora and Alya from the prior Silver Springs books are fairly present in Right Where We Belong, and it was nice to see how they were doing.
Heather was a scheming woman, not thinking anything of rigging the 'game' to get the man she really wanted.
Writing style :
Right Where We Belong is written in third person, past tense, following Gavin and Savanna closely. The frequent dialogues brought me closer to the characters, and let their personalities shine. There are also several text messages back and forth between various characters, and that brought an interesting angle to the story.
Feels :
The love took the front seat, but there was also a lot of doubt. With the doubt came some second-guessing, of course. And the suspense was really well done! Novak has branched out from strictly contemporary romance with a lot of flair, and the Silver Springs series is a very good example of that.

Fave Quotes - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Savanna knew if the man she'd married could be dangerous, anyone could.

Relocating had been such a big decision. She'd taken her children away from everything and everyone they'd known so far. Now that she was back in California, she could only hope she'd made the right decision - for all of them.

Issue one with this story is the whole subplot with Heather possibly being pregnant with Gavin's baby. It's an added complication and it's a "make the other woman who's not the heroine look bad" trope that really needs to stop in these types of stories. Besides, we all know there's only one way for it to end--with the baby being the other guy's, as is what happens. To make matters worse, everyone in this modern day town seems to think it's totally the right thing for Gavin to marry his pregnant ex-girlfriend who he doesn't love because the baby needs a father. I have news for these people--being the child of a scheming woman who possibly got pregnant solely to get a man who didn't want her and that man is probably going to screw up that child for life. It's much better for everyone they don't marry.

My second issue is an issue I have with the genre in general and with this series in particular: The women are all in their late twenties or so and so helplessly, hopelessly naive I wonder what the author is thinking. It's the sort of misogynistic Madonna/whore trope authors, especially older authors, love to exploit in women's fiction even though these stories are ostensibly written by women and for women. Savanna married young, moved to her husband's hometown with him, took a small job and raised two children while her husband worked a job that required him to travel (and gave him the opportunity to rape several women). Somehow, she never realizes that her husband needing to choke her during sex in order to orgasm is a little... dubious. And hey, I'm all for BDSM if you're into that, but it's fairly clear she isn't and if her husband cared at all, he ought to have noticed. (Also, the fact that he can't orgasm at all without it is suspicious as fuck.)

So Savanna is the innocent, naive Madonna who gave up her life for her husband and kids and somehow has no friends--issue number 3. The only women in these stories we're supposed to like is Gavin's mother, the heroine, and the heroines of past novels (and the daughter I guess but she's barely in it). The only other women introduced/talked about are all painted in a bad light--Savanna's mother in law, an unstable recovering alcoholic who didn't take care of her son at all and is eventually revealed to be part of his cover up; Heather, who schemed to get pregnant while Gavin's ex was visiting because he wanted to spend time with her and Heather was jealous (issue five: Heather is assaulted by her baby's father and in the end, it's implied he may be part of the baby's life which seems questionable at best); Heather's mother in one scene doesn't come across as terribly good; Gavin's stepmother, who abandons him and beats him; Gavin's foster mother, a religious fanatic. We are also briefly introduced to one of Gordon's victims who, while understandably upset, takes it out on Savanna and her small children in the middle of a public place which is unnecessary. I understand her thinking that Savanna ought to have known something, but telling the children nasty things was just a questionable decision. Savanna has no friends and makes no friends during this story unless you count Gavin, which I don't because she is screwing him.

(Issue six: Savanna's joke of becoming a lesbian because she's sworn off is tired and should have been left in nineties when people didn't know any better).

The romance between Gavin and Savanna is sweet, but with the added complication of Heather it never totally leaves the ground in the way it probably should to be an actual romance. It was more how Savanna handles making sure her husband is punished for his crimes. Which is a nice story, but we spend so much time on the romance and yet somehow not enough. I will say so far it's my favorite of the series but since this review got away from me, I think it's also safe to say that that might not mean that much.

FINAL DECISION: This story was okay, but I thought it was too complicated by other relationships so that the main romance suffered. I liked the suspense aspect, but wanted more between the hero and heroine.

THE STORY: Savanna Gray has come to Silver Springs with her two young children running from her discovery that her husband was actually a rapist. He's in jail claiming he is innocent, her mother in law blames Savanna for failing to support him, and the towns people blame Savanna for not recognizing his criminality sooner. Savanna comes to live in a house owned by her deceased father, but doesn't realize that it needs more work than she expected. When she meets her neighbor, Gavin Turner, Savanna wants to keep her distance, but the sexy helpful man touches her heart. Gavin has his own struggles -- his abandonment as a child, an ex who still wants a claim on him, and his attraction to Savanna despite her conflicts.

OPINION: There was much to like in this book. I really liked the suspense aspect of the story. The characters were good people and they had a nice connection with one another. My problem with the story was that there was just too much going on. Too many complications and side stories. As such, I thought that too much time was spent away from the central relationship and thus this book was just okay for me.

I thought that Gavin was a very nice man who was put in a difficult situation. I really disliked his conflict because it gave an additional level of complication to the relationship that really bothered me. Combined with Savanna still being married and having only months since discovering that her husband was a criminal, I couldn't help but think that these characters really needed to stay apart for a year or so to deal with their own baggage.

I finished this book with no problem and I liked much of the conflict, but it wasn't my favorite of the series.

WORTH MENTIONING: Readers of the series will get to see more of Eli.

CONNECTED BOOKS: RIGHT WHERE WE BELONG is the fourth book in the Silver Springs series. This book, however, can be read as a standalone as while it has some overlapping characters, the story is completely separate.

STAR RATING: I give this book 3 stars.

alright, i am officially done with brenda novak.

sometimes i see a book on netgalley, find out it's part of a series, request the book and then immediately get the other books in the series from the library or amazon. which is ridiculous, i don't even know if i will like the series but i am committing myself to -in this case- 4 books. anyway, sometimes this works out for me, other times by the time i get to the netgalley book, i am dreading reading it. i realise i could just read the netgalley book instead of getting the whole series, but that would mean reading a series out of order and if i did that, i might spontaneously combust.

this particular book was my least favourite in this series, i didn't care for the characters at all. the second book in the series was the best in my opinion, but overall there is just something i don't like about brenda novak's writing. the dialogue is unrealistic, it is too tell-y instead of show-y, and some of the things the author says just make me think wtf.

i am sure, if you are a fan of brenda novak and this series, you will like this one. since i was already not really enjoying the series and had low expectations, this was a chore to get through. i feel like an ass saying that, but there you go. bye brenda novak, thanks netgalley!

I have read almost all of Brenda Novak's books, but I think this just may be my favorite one of all. I know, I've said that about others too, but this one just grabbed me from the first paragraph and didn't let go.

I felt from the first time they met that Savanna and Gavin were meant to be together, but there is a lot of baggage for each of them. Savanna's (hopefully) soon-to-be-ex husband, is in jail for raping three women. Detectives are still trying to find more than circumstantial evidence that will put him behind bars for a very long time. Savanna is trying to help them find that evidence, even though she originally believed he was innocent. Gavin, who was abandoned by his stepmother when he was very young has his own issues. His ex-girlfriend tells him she is pregnant with his baby. Is she? And what will happen with Savanna and Gavin, who are attracted to each other from the moment they meet?

There is a lot going on in this book, and you will want to keep reading to find out what happens.

Definitely a 5 star read from Novak!

Right Where We Belong is a contemporary romance with a bit of suspense. Savanna's husband has been arrested for attacking women and everyone in her hometown is pointing their fingers at her accusing her of knowing what he had done. She decides she can't stay and packs up and moves her kids to Silver Springs.
The chemistry between Savanna and Gavin is off the charts. Neither of them are looking for a relationship. I loved the banter between Savanna and Gavin at the beginning. I actually laughed out loud at things she said to him. Towards the end, while Savanna is back in Nephi I literally had to hold my breath.
Like I mentioned before, this is a contemporary romance with just a bit of suspense. I can't get enough of Brenda Novak's writing. I am looking forward to what she comes up with next!!

description

Right Where We Belong is a light contemporary romance, and kept me engaged until the end. After Savanna's husband gets arrested, she decides to take refuge in Silver Spring. There her parents left her an old house that needs major renovations. She wants to start over with her two children and decides that Silver Springs fits the bill. When she arrives she meets her only neighbor, Gavin. I really loved how Gavin and Savanna met, and how their relationship developed. Gavin was such a nice guy that loves to help out people. He is a great support to Savanna, and they both feel a strong attraction to each other. Savanna, is hesitant because she just got out of her marriage and doesn't feel ready for a new relationship. And when Gavin is hit with a news, that can change his life, he decides to put some distance between Savanna and him.

This book was a nice contemporary romance, however I didn't feel a strong connection to the characters. They had great chemistry together, and I believed in that. However, things developed a bit fast in my opinion. This made it harder for me to fully connect. There was some suspense added to the story, which I enjoyed. But after that was done, the story was done, and it left me wanting more. The epilogue wasn't enough to complete the story for me.

With every book I read in this series, I become more involved in the characters.

Upon meeting Savanna, Gavin Turner knew his life was about to change.

He met her as she was about to cross a washed out bridge to get to a rundown home that she had inherited. Gavin did what he could to help Savannah with the house as she was running from her recent past. Savannah was a single mother with 2 children and the man she was married was accused of raping women and currently in jail.

Gavin and Savannah soon formed a relationship even though Gavin's ex-girlfriend arrived on the scene claiming to be pregnant with his child. Gavin attempted to do the right thing by Heather, but he just couldn't make himself love her.

The police don't make it easy for Savannah, thinking she knew of her husband's indiscretions, but they lure her in and get her to try to obtain a confession from her husband.

As their relationship progresses, you have a feeling they will get their HEA ending.

Savanna's life has come crashing down around her. Her husband has been arrested for attacking three women. Everywhere she goes she is talked about. They blame her for her husbands evil acts. Luckily she has some hope in the form of her ancestral home in Silver Springs. She packs up her belongings and heads off with her children. To a new beginning where no one knows what heinous things her husband has done. After a long drive they arrive at their new home, only to find the access bridge has broken and Savanna cant drive the moving truck over to the house. Luckily she has a very handsome and handy neighbour Gavin. After spending the night in a local hotel, and a little help from Gavin. They finally get to see their new home for the first time. Its in need of a lot of repairs. Gavin offers to help her in his spare time and Savanna is grateful. Gavin finds out his ex girlfriend who is a real piece of work is pregnant and that he might be the father. He doesn't love her yet is prepared to be with her for the sake of the baby. Even though he is attracted to our heroine Savanna. The Ex knows this as she knows his past, she is so manipulative. This novel had romance and intrigue which kept the reader engaged to the end. Highly recommended for fans of contemporary romance and a little intrigue. ARC voluntarily received from net galley in exchange for an honest review.

Savanna Gray's life is a horror movie right now. She can't believe that her husband and college sweetheart, Gordon, has been arrested for attacking and raping three women. No one in the town of Nephi, Utah can imagine that Savanna didn't know what her husband was up to but she didn't. After one too many verbal attacks, Savanna takes her children and moves them to the rundown farmhouse in Silver Springs, California that she and her brother own. Her children know what their father has done and are traumatized by it as well.
Thankfully, when she arrives at the farm, her nearby neighbor, Gavin Turner helps her get moved into the house. He is one of the boys that New Horizons Boy's Ranch owner Aiyana Turner has adopted. Gavin had a bad start to life and was put in foster care but eventually wound up at the New Horizons. He is a musician and works in maintenance at the school. He is a good guy with a heart for others and feels bad for all that Savanna needs to do to fix up her house, so he pitches in and helps her with repairs.
Savanna and Gavin are drawn to each other right away but there are obstacles that are standing in the way of their relationship getting off the ground. Gavin's on again, off again girlfriend, Heather, shows up with news of a pregnancy. She isn't sure if the baby is his or her current boyfriend's but she loves Gavin and wants Gavin to be the father. Gavin wants to move to Nashville and pursue a career in music. Between Savanna's pending divorce, threats from Gordon and his mother, and all of Gavin's issues, they fight their attraction. When the DA talks about dismissing the case and a missing girl's case is linked to Gordon, Savanna agrees to help the police get information from Gordon.
Right Where We Belong is a story of how innocence family members, especially children, can be brought into a bad situation simply because they are related to a criminal. One girlfriend, two boyfriends and an innocent baby. Whose is it? Did Heather plan the pregnancy to trap Gavin, who doesn't love her? Did Gordon attack the three women and was he responsible for the disappearance of the young girl? Is she alive?
Brenda Novak has written another great story. Her characters are strong and have overcome obstacles caused by others and come out all the better, mostly because of the love and care of Aiyana Turner and her school for boys in trouble.
Thanks to Brenda Novak for the opportunity to read and in exchange give an honest review.

You can always count on Brenda Novak to write a compelling book that makes you want to keep reading regardless of your other responsibilities. I was so happy to be settled down with another of her books and immediately felt hooked. This is far more than your average romance.

As someone who makes a hobby out of reading true crime books, the threads of that theme that I found in this fiction book satisfied me far more than a basic boy meets girl romance. Still, as a romance, this is fantastic. The steam level was perfect. The sex scenes weren't overdone and didn't feel pointless, the sparks between the main characters were genuine and they were the kind of people that it isn't hard to like. The relationship didn't feel forced and I thought their personalities meshed really well. Plus, the kids tugged at my heartstrings. I may or may not have shed a few tears during this...

I loved the way the author interwove the stories from Savanna's married life and her suspicions about her husband into the plot, using them to create tension for the current love affair in the story. This is a wonderful book and was full of unexpected twists and turns. There were times during reading this that I was holding my breath waiting to see what would happen next.

This is one of the best romance books that I have had the pleasure of reading all year long and I happily recommend it to others, particularly anyone that is looking for a suspenseful romance. Also, I want to move to Silver Springs, California now, too.

Highly recommended Read!!!
A story that keep the reader totally engrossed
while making them aware of emotional family
issues that most families will never face. The
reader will be part of the betrayal, tangled web
of secrets, fear to love again, drama, sinister
forces, personal growth, forgiveness, love
coming from friendship.
Savanna Gray and her children are living in a
nightmare. Her college sweetheart now husband
is arrested for the attack and rape of three women.
The family has been severely traumatized.
Savanna divorced, takes the children and
retreats to the rundown farmhouse owned by herself
and her brother in Silver Springs, California.
Her neighbor, Gavin Turner helps her with moving in
and repairs.
Gavin is one of Aiyana Turner's son's from New Horizons
Boys Ranch in Silver Springs. He was abandoned at a
gas station as a child and raised on the ranch where he
works.
There is undeniable chemistry between the two but will
they be able to overcome the obstacles??
This book makes the reader aware of issues
that might have never crossed their minds.
This is book # 4 in the Silver Springs series.
It can be read as a stand alone.

Maybe I'm not in the right mind frame, but romance books are getting so predictable. It seems like it's the same formula over and over again. The main characters meet each, within the first few days they are having sex, then spending the rest of the book regretting their decision. On top of that, secondary drama plots are thrown in. This is not a bad book, but it seems romance novels have the same formula.

2.5 stars.

This series has been all over the board for me. I liked the main characters but with all of the drama surrounding them, it was hard to get to know them. The H's drama was unnecessary and dragged the book down. I was annoyed each time it came up. Also, i wasn't crazy about the fact that he was sleeping with the h at the same time trying to figure out who he was going to stay with.

I really enjoyed this entry in the Silver Springs series. Wonderful characters, even though the hero, Gavin, sports a man-bun part of the time, which for some reason threw me for a minute. Yeah, not a fan of long hair on men. But I got past it and loved him. This can be read as a stand alone, but I urge you to start with the first book. I already have the next book in my TBR pile, and the only reason I'm not starting it immediately is because I have a review book waiting, which has to be a priority. But I can't wait to visit Silver Springs again.

Oh, and also, I just love the covers of these books!

I loved reading Savanna and Gavin's love story. The added suspense of what was going on with Savanna's ex-husband added an exciting element to the story. I once again enjoyed my visit to Silver Springs.

I checked this ebook out of the library and my honest review is my own and not influenced in any way.

This is the 4th book in the Silver Spring series. In this story Savanna is devastated after finding out her husband was arrested for raping women. Everywhere she turned in the small town in Utah she is accosted by people who thinks she should have known what her husband did. After not being able to handle the grasp of community she moves to Silver Springs in her family beat up home. As she gets there the first night she's introduce to her neighbor Gavin who lets her know the bridge that connects her to her house is washed away from the last rainfall. So starts the relationship. Gavin goes about doing alot of fixing around her home to make it livable she tells him upfront she is not interested in a romance. Though she says this Savanna becomes the first to make to move of wanting more than just friendship. Gavin is also dealing with a personal issue which has him thorn about pursuing Savanna or letting her go. Though it was not a along period of time before they got together just seeing how both characters where searching for better in their life and wanting to triumph after many trials. We also se Savanna doing some detective work to keep her husband from coming out of jail. Lovely addition to the series and look forward to the next title. I was giving an arc by Netgalley.

Savanna Gray's life was perfect..or so she the thought.
After her husbands arrest for being a serial rapist, Savanna's life is turned upside down, the perfect life she thought she had is anything but perfect.
Savanna decides to take her son and daughter to a new place where they will not be harassed and ridiculed for his actions.
Her parents left her a rundown home in Silver Springs that she is determined to make their new home. She only has 1 neighbor (Gavin) who is fighting his own demons, but puts them aside to help her. Savanna is a strong character who always try's to put her children first, but being able to protect them means she must place herself in harms way as she try's to keep her ex-husband behind bars and her ex-mother-in-law (who is crazy), away.

Gavin is a kind hearted musician who works at the boys ranch where he grew up after being abandoned by his step-mother in a park. He has an ex-girlfriend who is doing everything possible to keep him, including getting pregnant to trap him. He trys to do the honourable thing and gets back together with his ex..... But he is in love with Savanna.

This is the 3rd in the Silver Springs series and does not disappoint. I was unable to put it down until I finished it.

It is a match made in heaven for the two of them.

This is my new favorite in this Silver Springs series, even though I have stated those words before in a previous review. All of these books are superb! Brenda Novak knows how to pull you into a story and never lets up until the last page. One of the two main characters is Savanna Gray, who is forced by the community’s treatment of her to move from Nephi, Utah and start a new life elsewhere with her two young children, Branson and Alia. Savanna’s husband was arrested for heinous criminal acts, denies everything he did, and is awaiting trial. She and her children end up in a dilapidated home she and her brother Reese inherited in Silver Springs, California. Gavin Turner, who lives next door, has his own problems with his on-and-off ex-girlfriend, Heather, who won’t let go. Savanna and Gavin become friends and lovers fairly quickly, yet a future together is pretty much impossible. Overcoming deception and trickery, dealing with obligations, and doing what is best due to circumstances beyond their control, their work is cut out for them. This book is a true gem, and I loved it!

Right Where We Belong had everything I expect out of Brenda Novak’s work: sweet romance, multidimensional characters, realistic drama, and a lovely HEA.

Brenda Novak is on a roll with her Silver Springs series. And this latest installment packed in a ton of emotion along with a nice edge of suspense. So far I’ve enjoyed all the characters we’ve met and the townsfolk (for the most part), with the small town charm of Silver Springs completely apparent. With each new book the couples of course have had their problems to overcome. Read More

Right Where We Belong by Brenda Novak

Fourth in the Silver Springs contemporary romance series. Can be read as a stand alone.
Savanna brings her children to Silver Springs and an old family home for a fresh start. Gavin is their closest neighbor. His job as maintenance and handyman at the Boys school makes it easy for him to help Savanna make her house habitable.
Unfortunately her ex doesn’t want to make her leaving easy.

I actually liked the instant attraction between Savanna and Gavin. And the inability to ignore it. A great read for the romance with a touch of suspense.
Definitely an author I read over and over again.
