Cammie:
It’s been ten years since I've seen him. Ten years. I have no idea what he’s doing, where he’s been or if he’s even still single. Have I thought about him over the years? Of course. Absolutely. Just adored this story about love, strength and passion.
Dalton was just the perfect guy and I liked Cammie from the very beginning. This book was a mix of sweet, funny and serious at times.
It was a great second chance romance.
Highly recommended.

The book didn't deliver what you read on the blurb. Cliche after cliche. With this title I expected something sweet, emotional romantic. I expected regrets. , Absolutely nothing, and I'm disappointed because this is the author of THE GAME series. The good rates, misleading (I know each person has the right to their opinion). The blurb, misleading. This book is 249 pages and they spent 10% of it together, if that much. This was more about the h still dealing with te grief of losing her father. And some flashbacks of their high school days and the reason that separates them. So, 10 years later this 27 years old woman still acts as a high school girl. I had to remind myself of her age because her actions made it easy to forget. Example: the H was coming to see her at night and she was changing into her pjs and decided not to wash her face. She was leaving the make up on because she wasn't ready to get to the no makeup level with the guy. I threw up a little in my mouth. The woman had already slept with the H and they woke up together. She's shallow and insecure, I don't know if it's a possible combination. Her thoughts are that every girl only feel good about themselves with makeup.
The H decided to be a cop because of the h, she inspired him because of the way she idolized her father. And , of course, (insert cliche and oh! What a-surprise! here, I already figured it out since we knew her father died on duty) that's the reason of the break up: he doesn't show up for their dinner date, disappears for 3 days because he is an undercover cop, doesn't have his cell with him (of course!!) and when he shows up again she breaks up with him because she can't stand the idea of him get killed too. Sighing.
Beside no chemistry, no connection, I didn't see any feeling at all when they reconnected again. Unfortunately a lukewarm story, no emotions and a non existent romance where the couple spent more time apart with their friends and jobs instead of building up the relationship.

You that high school year. The dorky, ugly betty. The popular girl, the mean and bitchy girl, your BFF, the handsome and alluring jock. The bad boy, the popular group. Sitting on empty lunch table. The geeky and the genius. The prom nightmare. The first crush. The bully...
Yup all of those things. Then that horrible and embarrassing memory have to be repeat on the REUNION. Thats why I never join reunion. Because I do not have a Dalton.
Lucky for Camy, she has pretty romantic high school year. Because she has Dalton. They have been dating quietly. Then some stupid misunderstanding left them separate for 10 years. They met again during reunion and this time,Dalton determines to keep his girl. Undercover cop and all.
I love this book. The story is simple and low angst. I don't understand the panic attack Camy has but its still very very enjoyable reading. Especially that REUNION.

The book was a fun read, some of the dialogue ( like the 'eagle' part) was hilarious!!
Just two things reduced my enjoyment a bit - the conflict was a bit lame and also if the H was so crazy about h, it was hard to believe he would wait 10 yrs to make a move esp. since he knew where she was. Guess I expect my H's to be alpha enough to go after the h, not wait for the 10 yr reunion!
But otherwise an enjoyable low-angst read with a hot H who was super-crazy about h.

I enjoyed this new book by J. Sterling!
When I read the blurb for the book, I instantly had to have this book. I LOVE second chance love stories!
So you know how we all love social media and are basically addicted to it? How social media allows you to search to look into people's lives that you are no longer friends with to find out what their current life is like and what they have been up to...in a word..being nosey lol
I would SO be like that if I were going to be attending my high school reunion! Heck, I am like that now lol....So here is what you have know....
Dalton Thomas is a copy who had a dysfunctional childhood.
Cammie is a radio show producer.
And it's time for their 10 year high school reunion and they are both still hung up on each other. :)
Seeing and experiencing their first interaction after 10 years feels bittersweet because they are both wanting the same thing. There have been so many missed opportunities and NOW is the time to make up for it.
This is a book about living in the moment, living and loving with no regrets and how love is worth taking the risk.
There were so many things I enjoyed about this book - I loved the radio aspect and having people experience Cammie's life with her. I also enjoyed the element of suspense and how it played into Cammie's history with her dad and showed her to take a chance on love. Most of all, I love romance and 2nd chances at love....Dalton is a romantic and he will make your heart skip a beat <3
With laughter, smiles, fear and love....this was a full circle journey that is fun and sweet and real - a classic J. Sterling book that will put a satisfied smile on your face when you close your kindle <3
The only thing I wished for was an epilogue because I am a sucker for what happens NEXT but I know that not everything is always wrapped up in a pretty bow so I am happy to use my imagination of where this couple will go from here :)

My Thoughts:
No one ever said love was easy. And if they did, they lied.
We’ve all been there. You know, that high school sweetheart or crush. The one who stole your heart, who captured your attention all the time, that kiss that meant the world to you, a touch that would make you melt and two arms that made you feel safe. Feelings like that, you never really get over. Like most high school romances, it all ends in the blink on an eye.
Cammie has loved Dalton since she was fourteen years old. He was the light in her life when she was in her darkest moments. The kisses he would sneak from her calmed her, his touches warmed her heart. Then one day everything changed.
Life moves on and for Cammie, she was never really able to find “the one”. But hey, you live and you learn. As hard as you try to forget and try to move on, that dang heart doesn’t want to listen. Then you find yourself wondering what if as you prepare to attend your ten year high school reunion.
Dalton had become so ingrained, so easily a part of me, that not even surgery could remove him.
Dalton can’t figure out for the life of him where he went wrong with Cammie. One day they are head over heels for each other and then the next day, she refuses to acknowledge his existence. In the blink of an eye they have graduated and are off to college. It is hard to move forward with your life when someone still has your heart.
With his ten year reunion, Dalton is set on making things right with Cammie. No longer a teenage boy, he is determined to keep her in his life this time and he isn’t going down without a fight.

Dalton is over the moon to be reunited with Cammie again. She is all he ever wanted. Things seem to be going great but when an issue at work turns into a disaster. Dalton can see the determination is Cammie’s eyes and he fears that he may have lost her for good this time.
I couldn’t let her go. Not again. Not after reconnecting the way we had. There was a special bond between Cammie and me, something that never quite died with time. It didn’t fade away, lessen, or cease to exist, instead it simmered, waiting for us to come within feet of each other so it could reignite and set us both aflame. I was on fire and I refused to burn alone.
I adored Cammie’s character. She is beautiful, smart and witty. Her best friend Kristy is awesome and tells it like it is. Cammie continuously denied her feelings for Dalton. When she finally comes to terms with the fact she never truly got over him. You know that saying, people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Well for Cammie, it takes her time to see which one Dalton is.
My heart broke for Cammie, the heartache and the fear she has. It seriously paralyzed her from being able to move forward with what she really wanted.
Dalton is just amazing. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. He is sexy, smart and funny. When he finally gets Cammie back in his arms it is like all is right in the world. It is like they were never apart.
Jenn has created two amazing characters with two awesome supporting characters with Kristy and Tucker. These characters aren’t like anything she has written before and I LOVE her for that!
Cammie and Dalton just stole my heart. I felt all of their emotions, the happiness, the loss, the heartache, the fear and excitement, the longing and their love for each other.
Who doesn’t want a second chance at that first amazing love? This was such an emotional and beautifully written book.
Sometimes life was messy and got in the way. But wasn’t that part of the beauty of falling in love and being in a relationship? You figured things out together as you grew, and faced the challenges that life enjoyed the hell out of throwing at you.

Admitting this pains me, but I truly was disappointed with 10 Years Later. As much I was a second-chance romance lover, this book didn't really deliver for me. Perhaps I just got my hopes up; it was cliche, and normally I wouldn't mind, but the execution was done badly that I pretty much skimmed through most of the pages. Still, there were times when the books had me swooning. But as for the characters ... they were just annoying.
The plot, to begin with, seemed straight-forward. Second chance romance? Doesn't seem that bad. However, there were so many elements that were brought up, but wasn't emphasized more, and I think it would have completely brought more sense to the book if it was. It was a quick read, and despite all of that, there was something about this books that ignites hope nonetheless. I was disappointed with the execution of the premise, but it wasn't enough to steer me away from second chance romances.
The characters seemed plain to me. I didn't exactly sympathize with them, making it hard for me to have any strong feelings towards them. There were flashbacks throughout the book and I wish the author had used that to give them more depth. Having the hero and heroine as victims of misunderstandings that could have been explained better were painful to watch. It was stupid and I was really annoyed with both of them for the assumptions that they had made in the past. If I had felt connected with them in the book, I would have probably understood their circumstances. I mean, they were only in high-school and both weren't really in a good place at that time. But that's the thing -- I can't.
Also, when everything was "settled", the heroine underwent some doubts and it took her so damn long for her to face it. I don't mind angst; in fact I love them. However, it still depends on the execution. Like I said, I probably would have understood her reasons more if I had sympathized with her. Her dad who died years before was a cop, and dating one probably wasn't a good idea. I understand that. Hell, I would be scared too. However, what I felt for her was just annoyance. I didn't really connect enough with her to be .. more rational about it.
The writing was not bad. There were so many things I wish was done differently, and I suppose that's what makes up my entire rant about it.

I was excited to read this book, from the sounds of the blurb it was right up my alley. Alas, though, it was not meant to be. There was way too much of an intro to the characters actually meeting, and then when it did happen, there was no chemistry, instead our heroine runs to the bathroom. I stopped reading at the halfway point when I couldn't take the awkward interactions between our hero and heroine anymore. I don't know if it got any better, but it certainly couldn't have gotten worse.

Super cute audio to listen to today.
10 Years Later is about a second chance at love. It happens to the best of us, but I actually really liked this couple. They were completely cute and addicting once they came back into each other's lives. I was constantly rooting for them and didn't like the "drama" that tore them apart - even if it only lasted for a couple of seconds.
In this book, you will meet Cammie and Dalton. Now these two had terrible communication skills in high school, but honestly - who didn't? Cammie's senior year was completely rough. Her life fell into pieces after a sudden death in the family. She had one thing going for her though and that was Dalton. Now they both had a huge crush on one another.. but nothing really ever happened. Again, this is all due to misunderstanding and miscommunication. AGAIN, it's high school - so don't color me surprised or anything.
Other than them realizing their undying love for one another, I really liked how this book was split between past and present. I did think that Cammie was a bit dramatic about some things but I also understand her reaction to them. The little romance that I got between these two were okay but again, it was cute. However, I need the smut.

3.5 stars!!
I am a sucker for second chance love stories and this one ticked those boxes. We have all had those guys that we have admired from afar while at school. You think that it is that forever kind of love, all consuming and you will die if you cannot be their boyfriend/girlfriend. That is the kind of relationship that Cammie and Dalton had. There are always what could have beens and what should have beens and for these two the planets just didn’t align, it just wasn’t their time to shine. Maybe being a bit naïve and not communicating was the root of the problem for these two but their paths are due to cross again, will they make the same mistakes?
10 Years Later and it is time for the infamous school reunion. These two are older and wiser. Cammie has been trying to find Dalton for the past ten years, he is nowhere on social media, which is virtually unheard of in this day and age and Cammie cannot help but wonder what had happened to him. She is now an assistant on a popular morning radio show and she is doing everything that she has loved. Never in a committed relationship because she cannot help but wonder about the one that got away. She cannot help but compare everyone else to him and even though he is a just a figment in her imagination now, he still remains there, firmly rooted. Cammie also has her issues that she needs to work through and this are going to be brought to the forefront once she sets eyes on Dalton once again.
Dalton is now an undercover cop, hence the social media black out, but through family he is aware of the school reunion and he is only going for one person. The person that has been on his mind for the past ten years, the girl who got away and the girl who he listens to every morning on her radio show just to get a glimpse into what she is doing now. The girl that has been the bench mark for all others and the girl that no other has matched up to.
I loved this book, I felt the build up to their meeting, the anxiety and fear of rejection by the other, the wit and banter was true Jen Sterling and added balance to their story. These two have ten years to make up for and while their reunion is bittersweet, they only have the future to look forward too and it is up to them to make the most of the second chance they have been given.
Dalton was a pure romantic and he will have you swooning in no time, he was totally adorable. He may be sex on a stick but he is also just an all round good guy, he knew what Cammie needed and he knew what he needed to do and he played it just right.

I am a sucker for second chance love stories and this one ticked those boxes. We have all had those guys that we have admired from afar while at school. You think that it is that forever kind of love, all consuming and you will die if you cannot be their boyfriend/girlfriend. That is the kind of relationship that Cammie and Dalton had. There are always what could have beens and what should have beens and for these two the planets just didn’t align, it just wasn’t their time to shine. Maybe being a bit naïve and not communicating was the root of the problem for these two but their paths are due to cross again, will they make the same mistakes?
10 Years Later and it is time for the infamous school reunion. These two are older and wiser. Cammie has been trying to find Dalton for the past ten years, he is nowhere on social media, which is virtually unheard of in this day and age and Cammie cannot help but wonder what had happened to him. She is now an assistant on a popular morning radio show and she is doing everything that she has loved. Never in a committed relationship because she cannot help but wonder about the one that got away. She cannot help but compare everyone else to him and even though he is a just a figment in her imagination now, he still remains there, firmly rooted. I loved this book, I felt the build up to their meeting, the anxiety and fear of rejection by the other, the wit and banter was true Jen Sterling and added balance to their story. These two have ten years to make up for and while their reunion is bittersweet, they only have the future to look forward too and it is up to them to make the most of the second chance they have been given.
Dalton was a pure romantic and he will have you swooning in no time, he was totally adorable. He may be sex on a stick but he is also just an all round good guy, he knew what Cammie needed and he knew what he needed to do and he played it just right.

I am such a fan of Jenn Sterling's books and when I met her in person last year in Sydney it completely cemented my love for her. She is such a hard case and so genuinely lovely :)
This was a must read for me not just because of the above but also because of the words 'second chance love' - these three words guarantee a 1-click will be happening for me.
Cammie and Dalton knew each other in high school and had a romance of sorts, they never put a 'label' on it, it just kind of evolved. One silly misunderstanding later and these two went their separate ways after they graduated and never made contact again.
Ten Years Later.... high school reunion time. Cammie has no idea is Dalton will even be there and she is nervous as hell. She is still single and has thought of him often. Dalton too often thinks of Cammie, to him she is the 'one that got away.' He is determined to get some answers from her and find out what happened all those years ago.
These two are like 28 years old but I just love how they both revert back to teenage behaviours, with all those nervous sweet moments that happen when you have a crush on someone and are falling in love. Dalton is seriously adorable, he will have you swooning :)
As much as I wanted these two to get their HEA together, there are some things that need to be adressed. A lot has happened over the past 10 years and it has shaped who they both are today. In order to move forward they need to both want it. Is it finally the right for them or was their fate sealed 10 years ago?

I tried. I really tried with the story but after 65%, I couldn't care less what happened so I skimmed to the end. I'll give props to the writing but otherwise I found the story boring.

One of my favorite themes to read about is second chance romances and even more so when high school/ college reunions are added to the mix. Ten years ago, Cammie fell in love with a guy in her class Dalton, and then tragedy fell upon Cammie, and she changed. The only person that ever got her through her dark days was Dalton, and all went well, right up until Prom. From that moment, Cammie was heartbroken and avoided Dalton like the plague, and so this happened until they both froze one another out and never talked again. Fast-forward ten years, and it's time for Cammie's High School Reunion, and she is only keen on catching up with one guy - Dalton. Over the years she has searched for him, but not found a single trace not even on Facebook. It's like he no longer exists, especially in a world where everyone who's everyone now has a Facebook account. We discover that Cammie is working at a radio station as a producer/fact checker and occasional talk show buffer between the hosts. Dalton is an undercover cop and working on a big operation at the moment and has the night off to attend his High School Reunion. Both have one goal in mind - find the other and tell them how much they love one another and eventually live HEA. Easy enough right? It would be, but Cammie is wary of Dalton's job due to her personal heartbreak at losing her father and watching her mother suffer. Can Cammie open her heart to Dalton knowing he is a cop or will this be what halts the idea of their HEA ? The ending of this book did get me thinking about whether if you were in that situation where your ideal partner had a job where you were always worrying, would that be a relationship ultimatum for you or would you just suck it up as you love and care for them too much to choose a life without them at all ? mmm 3… it was a sweet little listen but wth is up with all this copaganda … authors need to immediately put that in the synopsis cus i cant take it anymore. also like it will not kill you to make these men firefighters….. please….. i want more sexy firefighters… who actually do things 😭
plot-wise, this was good. it was short so the development felt too fast. i like a true character arc sorry lol but for the pacing, the development felt good for the heroine especially. i actually wouldn’t have mind if it was longer to work on more of her development but that is just me.
narrators were great and i love erin mallon. i think she does such a beautiful job at narratoring and really emoting in her voice!! truly moves me when i hear her on an audiobook. i can’t help it. but definitely the narration helped the bump up to a 3. wouldn’t revisit the book but the narrators made it worth while.

Loved the concept and the over all plot, which is why I picked it up and the beginning was promising but pretty quickly it went down hill...it all started to when they reconnected with their classmates at the reunion and how they all interacted with each other, both externally and internally...it felttt like they were still in high school...also the author kept making references about how "old" they were and what not and at first I got confused cause i literally thought these people were in their mid to late 30s, but then I remembered it was their 10year reunion so yes they are only 27/28...the author tried to make them sound like they were older than they were but it just ended up making them look even more immature.
The writing wasn't great but not awful, but if it were better it definitely could have made a big difference in my rating to a soft 3 star but I just couldn't for manyyyy reasons...I felt like we didn't get enough background on the 10 years they were apart. We know she did the radio thing, he was a cop, she had some boyfriends? (I was never quite sure about that) and he had at least 1 serious girlfriend, that she would look him up to try and find him every now and then and he would check up on her radio show and thats about it....Like 10 years is A LONG time and the author just kind of glossed over what exactly happened during those 10 years, we didn't get a inside view of what their life was really like so it lost us knowing or really caring about them as a couple and I think that would have made a bigger impact...Also, the backflashes of them in high school could have been great but again it went flat...they were very brief and we didn't get much of what actually happened, just the glossed over version of it...And then the "BIG" thing that happened between them when revealed again FELL FLAT...the author has good plot, good ideas, etc. but she can not execute it properly for it to have any real meaning...the characters were one dimensional and their actions and thoughts from past and present and so forth, just all of it just did not match up half the time and it felt like I was reading about different characters...the only thing that remained within their characters from past to present was that they were both very immature and sounded naive throughout the whole book...Overall, the book was just very flat, and I didn't feel a connection to the characters and them as a couple, and the writing just made it worse...
By the end, cause I did decide to finish it, I was just like..

Some fear it, some love it. For some, it's that time to show off how far you've come. For others, it's a way to relive the glory days. It's the 10 year high school reunion.
Now, I didn't go to mine because, honestly, there wasn't anyone from high school that I really wanted to see. That was a time period that I am happy to forget. But for some, such as Cammie, it's a chance to maybe get back something that was lost.
Cammie had a rough senior year. Her life literally fell apart and the only thing that kept her going was Dalton - the boy she'd been crushing on for almost all of high school. She lived for their secret rendezvous, however, she was afraid to tell him how she really felt for fear that it would ruin what they had. 10 years later, she's regretting that decision and is hoping that the reunion will be just the place to meet up.
Dalton hasn't forgotten Cammie. Even though he's been off the social media networks, it doesn't mean that he hasn't been keeping tabs on her. He listens in to the morning radio show that she works on just for the chance to hear her voice. And like Cammie, his only reason for attending the reunion is to see her again.
While I didn't fall in love with the characters, it was a fast and cute read. I almost wish that the book had been divided into two parts: the first focusing on their high school relationship and the the second focusing on their meeting at the reunion and after. I liked reading the flashbacks throughout the story, but there were some that seemed thrown it at very weird moments and it took me out of the story a little. And there were no clear breaks at points between the past and the future.
However, I adore Sterling's witty writing. The internal monologues of her female characters are hilarious and for the most part, are relatable. Yes, there was some ridiculous drama thrown in that could have been easily avoided with just a little bit of communication, I liked the overarching feeling of hope that Sterling provided.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fast read, or something to read down by the beach.

So sweet. Such a powerful love story. The that waits ten years for you.
You never quite get over your high school crush. You will always tend to think about him periodically through time. But with with creation of social media most of us can get closer. See if they lost their hair, got fat or married with an entire litter of kids but not for Cammie. Her crush, Dalton, seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. So her attraction for him has become more of an obsession. She thinks about him constantly and if he will be at the impending ten year reunion.
Dalton works as an undercover cop so secretsy is a must. He has waiting ten years to see Cammie again. He let her go then but is determined to not let her slip out of his hands again.
Once they meet they collide...hard. But with ten years worth of pent up feelings the past comes back to haunt them. They must get over their past demons and make amends before they will ever have a chance at their happily ever after.

We were young n in love before, we assumed something we wanted were right, correct, if the things not went well as our thoughts, we thought it was the other side came wrong.
We were stupid, even when we r older, we are stupid.
This is a second chance even it is a little bit naïve, but it is nice to kill the afternoon.

Totally dug it!! Sometimes it was hard to believe the love connection between the MC's as their past relationship together wasn't really as intense as I thought and the ending finished with no epilogue but it was just soooo sweet that I just couldn't not like it :) I hope there's a book about the secondary characters in the pipelines cos I would love to see more.
