Rate this book
Just find her. In a city of 3.5 billion. How hard can it be? The answer? Hard. Very hard. In an effort to find her sister’s lost child, Bit flees from the Lenore and returns to her home city, Johannesburg. The search appears over before it even begins when she infuriates a local gang leader. Now, Bit must stay one step ahead of her enemies, while tracking her only remaining family member. Jack and the crew trace Bit back to Earth. Rather than take on another job, the crew seeks her in the deteriorating Johannesburg slums. Attracting their own enemies, both within their crew and from the outside world, the game of cat and mouse has never created more mayhem.

My journey to become a writer began in 8th grade, when I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and pulled from school to recover. During this time, I was left alone for hours on end and it was then that I discovered new friends within the pages of books. I also learned the blessing of creating my own friends by writing down the stories that plagued my lonely mind—as demented as that sounds. Therefore at the ripe age of fourteen, I wrote my first novel. It sucked! But I kept going and now I am finalizing my first indie novel, with sequels to come, and two other series along with a fiction based blog. I never imagined that first horrible novel about a man who crash landed on his long lost home world would turn into a lifelong passion.

I had fun with the run and gun storyline--but dang can the drama and chaos for once not be surrounded around Bit?

description

I like her character, and she's not necessarily the cause of everything...(I mean other characters actions are not exactly something she can control) but everyone seems to become obsessed with her, and everything gets real crazy because of her reckless solo actions.

I mean

And the injuries at this point are also reaching peak levels of unbelievable (first it was the multiple broken ribs and now this??)- she's battered, bruised, and with a seriously messed up knee- but able to complete feats of grandure every other moment. In reality I just see this...

description

But I will read on for the hell of it. I'm a little addicted to the madness.

Full On Action

After seeing her former owner Bit is determined to track him down to find out where her sister’s baby was sold. When the crew gets back to Mars she tracks down the address of his last transmission to the ship and steals a bank card from Jack, before heading to Earth to track the child down.

This book follows Bit’s adventures in Jo’burg as she tries to track down her missing relative, the only one she has left. Bit uses all her new skills, taught by Randal, the security chief, to evade those seeking to capture her for their own ends, after she comes across some unsavoury types. Jack and the rest of the crew decide to head off after her and they have their own set of adventures.

The plot of this book fast moving and impossible to put down. I was gripped from Page 1. This series started slowly but has built to a helter skelter pace. It’s been interesting watching Bit develop as a person as she gains confidence and skills. There is a bit of a cliff-hanger at the end of the book, but as the next book is already out, that’s not really a problem.

Mayhem and Mutiny, the 4th book in the Echoes of Sol series starts with Bit on her own on Earth searching for her sister's baby. I truly enjoy this series, although I do find it frustrating at times. There is plenty of action, but not enough relationship building. This was true of this book, even more than the others because Bit was physically separated from the crew. I so want to see what can become of Bit and Jack and the rest of the Lenore's crew. I defintely wouldn't mind this evolving into a RH. We know that more than one of the men has feelings for her.

Once again Bit and the crew all find themselves in danger. They are all running from various bad guys. Bit can't catch a break and is running from half of the crowded city. She does manage to more than hold her own. She proves time and time again just how tough and scrappy she is. We meet a few new characters and Bit gets to see old friends. There is also a mutiny within the crew that presents another danger. The action is non-stop, suspenseful, and entertaining.

Bit continues to grow into a strong woman. It's amazing how much she has changed from her first appearance. She is a kick-ass heroine at this point. Her judgement is still in question though. I understand how hard it would be for her to trust anyone, however she claims to know the meaning of family. You must trust your family. She needs to learn to turn to them when she needs help. She's no longer on her own and by running from them in this book she endangers everyone more than needed. It's obvious how valued she is by the crew. She also needs to start re-evaluating her beliefs. Some of her long held assumptions may be wrong.

I look forward to seeing what's in store for our little dreadlocked beauty in the next book. Hopefully, she finds time for some romance while surviving her next adventure.

Another great installment of Bit's battling adventures; so many of them.

Determined to find her sister's child, Bit travels to Earth... This story is jam-packed with action and adventure, with familiar characters and new ones. The descriptions of Earth are very well done and demonstrate the wide gap between rich and poor - no change there then. It also highlights the problem of over-population.

Bit is a courageous character but stubborn, yet this stubbornness gets her through numerous 'situations'. Love, too, is a strong theme, on various levels - no spoilers.

Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

I liked books one through three but book four was disappointing. The heroine was annoying and frankly her ability to constantly best men twice her size started to get laughable. She's like the energizer bunny, badly injured but she keeps on running and fighting. Her treatment of her crew-mates was criminal. Her obsession with finding her niece made her usual smart, observant behavior non-existent. The constant fist fights and battles got super boring, and the author completely dropped the warrant out for her arrest as a runaway IS. One second her pictures up on all kinds of screens then it's never mentioned.

OMG..just when I praised her for her balance, she dives in an orgy of violence! So tired of this 'how bad can you hurt the main character' stuff. Ok, s...t hits the fan sometimes, but some people don't wallow in it just for entertainment. I do like this book series, but I expected more development in the story than that. I'll pay for the future book just to see where the flaming new character goes. (and I don't have a lot of money (retired old fart)).

Follows on directly from the previous book with Bit getting herself into trouble again. She spends so much time black and blue, its a wonder anybody notices anymore. This episode gives a bit more insight into her past, and portrays the state of the Earth in this time.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others in the series so far, but its still a good read and plenty enough to make me go on to the next episode.

Great series

This is a great story of a young woman trying to find her family. As an indentured servant she has to lie and steal to have a chance . A great story if you like plucky characters.

A great read

A great read, I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book. There is so much fighting action and spunk. I wish each book was a bit longer, but I still enjoyed it. I am looking forward to Bit's next adventure.

Family

Bit needs to learn what family will do and how much they will sacrifice for a family member even if not by blood. She will have to learn the hard way with lots of bumps and bruises alone thecway. Looking forward to the next book.

I decided to stop reading the series after finishing this book because the complicated love pentagon is getting old and because of the inconsistencies of the story that Dufour does not resolve.

Great story. Lots of stuff going on. We get to see Bit back in a little of her own element. Love getting a glimpse inside that. Met some new characters that I liked and some I didn't. Blaine, ugh Blaine. So glad Bits secret is out now and they can move forward towards her goal.
