The Therapist #1

The Therapist: Episode 1

Rate this book
From International Bestselling author J.A. Belfield comes an intriguing erotic romance serial ...

Episode One: Through self-imposed rules and a learned composure, Chase Walker takes a married couple on their first steps into bedroom communication. The same stance he takes with every client on his list. That is, until his newest client walks in and gives a whole new meaning to a hard day at the office. With a face full of innocence and a beauty she seems unaware of, Abi O’Shay might just be the first person to crack his professional façade.

Series Synopsis:

Chase Walker: Founder of C.W. Consult. Sex therapist extraordinaire.

And, without question, always in control.

After years of schooling his emotions, Chase takes pride in his self-composure and firm lack of commitment. It takes only one, fresh-faced redhead in need of his services for all of that to fall to pieces.

Abigail O'Shay is everything Chase isn't. Sweet. Innocent. A virgin.

Chase has never wanted to defile anything more.

Except, if that whole therapist-client barrier isn't enough of an issue, Chase's own demons are only too happy to cock-block all the sinful fantasies treatments he has in mind for his latest client.

There were things that I enjoyed and unfortunately more that I didn't. I found the idea of discovering the world of a sex therapist interesting and intriguing. And the author is direct! Maybe the sex was a little too detached for my taste with no feelings. That left a bad taste on my mouth.

As a sex theraphist Chase Walker has to be always in control. The services he offers come with a set of rules, ones that he has to follow in order to success. Years of practice have made him take pride in his self-composure. So when a virgin redhead in need of his services make him lose control, he knows he's in deep shit.

description

The first thing that catched my eye was the idea of a sex theraphist. I went in thinking this was going to be another short and raunchy read. Oh boy I was so wrong. After meeting Chase, and the pieces of plot the author gave me, I knew this was going to be someting more.

Raw, sexy and mysterious. The Theraphist: Episode 1 is not your everyday hot read. So if you're looking for a funny-sexy romance, turn around because this is not it.

My only complaint is that I wanted more pages!!!!!!. I know the point of this is to leave you wanting more, which it did, but well...

Anyway...

I can't wait to see what the next session between Chase & Abi will hold.

It started a bit iffy for me, the descriptions were a bit off putting and I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it but as I continued reading I was pleasantly surprised that I did actually start to enjoy it and I'm looking forward to the next episode.

REVIEW
So I will readily admit that I wouldn't normally choose this genre of book. Erotica is usually way out of my genre comfort zone. Though this year I made a new years resolution to try to read more books from outside of my usual genre range. I began by reading a dew titles by Lauren Dane, both her Moonstruck Series and her more overtly sexual Cascadia Wolves Series. I have read other titles by J.A. Belfield from her Holloway Pack Series and I proudly declare I am one of her "Hollerers" (her street team). I purchased The Therapist, episode one from Amazon UK.

What can I say about the cover? Well I guess I should comment on the two versions of the cover and some "problem" with Amazon that made it much easier for J.A. Belfield to adjust the title of the book and tweak the cover a little too. So the original cover's main feature was the rather buff body of who I would presume is the "therapist" we meet in the first episode. Well of course the hot body on the cover certainly attracts the eye to the cover and makes you want to see . . .and know more about the guy the body belongs to.
The newer up to date, tweaked cover shows a smartly dressed, perfectly groomed male who seems to hover between smooth and sophisticated yet still has a few gorgeous rough edges around him such as the facial hair. Is the hot guy, buttoning or unbuttoning that shirt? Again I'm guessing the man with those eyes that speak to you from the book cover is the main character, the therapist himself, Chase Walker.

My first thoughts were quite conflicting, was I going to be able to read the whole novella? Was it going to be too overtly explicit for my "reading parameters? As this is a different genre to the other J.A. Belfield titles I have read I am wondering if it will it still have a great plot along with the steamy aspects? I suppose the trepidation I felt about what I would think about this book could maybe compared to a little of what The Therapist's clients feel when going to their appointments with him.

The Therapist business/service called C.W. Consult is headed by a man called Chase Walker, he is an impeccably dressed and groomed in a certain style, and standard he keeps solely for business. It is not just the beautifully cut suits Chase wears, it is right down to the way he styles his hair.
Chase offers his very own brand and style of counselling to male, females and couples who may think they require some help in the sexual relationship areas of the their lives. Chase offers both verbal, and practical sessions, along with giving his clients very specific homework to do between sessions. Though Chase is physically in the same room as his clients he never initiates his part in their practical sessions, all suggestions come directly from the client. Chase is very composed at all times throughout his appointments with his clients. Not that he doesn't have his own urges and thoughts on what he would like to happen in certain situations.
We meet the rest of Chase's staff, the two receptionist/assistants that he met when they were still "tied" to a pimp. Chase paid the pimp well to have the two women with looks I'd describe as chalk and cheese work for him. It's quite clear both women enjoy their work and find their employer attractive.
We meet a couple of Chase's clients. The first are a couple attending their first physical session, who are shown into Chase's office wearing just plain robes and slippers supplied by Chase's company. Chase asks them to choose which room they want to "play in". Chase has a variety of rooms and settings, from luxurious bedrooms and sumptuous bathrooms, one of the rooms is even decorated very similar to his own office and is usually rather popular with all ages! The other client we are introduced to is Abi O'Shay and without revealing any spoilers she may be the one client that could be capable of ruffling the perfectly groomed and tightly restrained Chase Walker.
Also in this novella, the reader is shown a darker side of Chase. We get a glimpse into his "play-room" and the type of role play he enjoys himself.

I think this novella series really has the beginnings of an intriguing plot, with interesting characters that I would really like to learn more about. I'd be curious to know how Chase ended up in this line of work, as well as wanting to learn more about his employee's, and their lives now and before meeting Chase.
Then there was the cliff hanger of what Chase is going to suggest as therapy for Abi O'Shay, and the question of will Chase be able to hold on tight to his well practiced restraint.
Another character the reader only meets briefly that I took an instant liking to, despite her only being a voice on the other end of a phone call, is Chase's mother, she seems lie a down to earth woman. Who knows if how much of her sons job she knows about. I can imagine him to settle down with a young woman like Abi O'Shay and give her some grandchildren to fuss over too!

My final thoughts are that I had gotten a pleasant surprise, that I enjoyed reading most of this novella/episode, despite it's few darker explicit scenes. More explicit than I would normally read, though it worked well as it was a novella/episode. I may even read more when the next episode is available for me to do so. I think I ought to try reading outside of my comfort zone more often especially when the books are written by authors I trust to deliver a great plot alongside the hot steaminess!

I gave this book 4 stars!

I'm not sure what I just read, but I know I'm am now invested on find out more about Abi, Chase, Sam Raelyn, and the mystery woman.

In session one who meet everyone of these characters, plus The Miller's. It gives a glimpse of the characters except for Chase and he is the Sex Thearpist. There is a good amount of sex, and even a mystery of who this woman being in his personal dungeon.

Know there is a good story just waiting to be told and I can't wait to see what the next session will hold.

After that last little note, I almost threw my Kindle at the wall. So OK, this was not a good read (for me).
Lets go through the points individually (and with a little more 'shouting' from me):

151: "I want to remove your penis" - Once I'd gathered myself after being completely thrown out of the story, all I could do was laugh. I assume it's a typo (for 'pants') but one can never be sure.

267: ok, this is the first "cum shot from him fast and hot, filling her warm mouth...". But wait! This is a Client; with her husband looking on; and they've all discussed what will/does happen (with all those rules, of course!); but why the fuck is he NOT WEARING A CONDOM?? And for that matter - WHAT happened to client/therapist boundaries?? Chase is NOT a therapist: he's a manipulator.

359: This stopped me in my tracks... a first mention of a "door to which only he held the key - one he kept locked away in a drawer in his desk" ...and then this -

410: Here we have a naked, blindfolded, hogtied woman on a cot, in a room, which Chase is viewing on his phone from a LIVE VIDEO FEED. OK, he's "viewing" her skin for temperature fluctuations, and her chest for breathing, but nothing is mentioned about her frigging circulation! And here is the crux: any body, tied and blind, SHOULD NOT BE BEHIND A LOCKED DOOR. It is neither Safe or Sane; and should never, never happen. There are situations like this which can happen, but the sub is usually under CONSTANT surveillance by both physical and electronic monitoring by a Dom who is THERE!!

We then come to the cliche virgin: arranged marriage; overbearing parents; church involvement (not that that's usually wrong, but one can see where this is going); and a fiance who has some experience of sexual matters. I BET!!

At 546: we have the homophone problem of "tact" and "tack" (see my note); and I am slightly bothered that none of the author's Beta readers picked that up. (I'm a grammar pedant, if you haven't already realised!)

Now for the incredulous bits: by 679 Chase is actually with his hogtied sub. By my reckoning, a minimum of three hours has passed without this poor sub being able to move or relax. Her limbs would be yelling in agony! and although he stretches and massages each leg, it isn't enough! He WALKS her to the loo! He WALKS her back to the cot where he face-fucks her. Here I am totally in awe that this sub has the ability to take a cock DRY-MOUTHED. She's had NO water for more than three hours!!

And another revelation: this sub has been in captivity (because that's what it is!) for NINE days, and I just CAN'T imagine what Chase has done to her in those days! Oh, but now we get him tying her to his 'contraption' in the middle of the room: we have her arms tied up and apart (oh how that must be hurting); her ankles tied to the bottom corners; her pussy positioned over an urinal in the floor (wtf?), and he fucks her mouth (ok she's had water and food, so it's not as bad as before). And, lo! and behold! he comes down her throat because he is STILL NOT WEARING A CONDOM!

So, here we have a successful Paranormal Romance writer who is venturing into the kinky world in an episodic way. Unfortunately, it is obvious from the blunders mentioned above that the author has no real knowledge of kinky sex. I'm not calling it BDSM because it is SO NOT BDSM in the slightest. It's just kinky sex so far. And that's as far as I'm going. Sorry, but this is the end for me.

Chase Walker runs his own business, C.W. Consult, as a sex therapist extraordinaire. He lives his life with iron clad control in all things. However, one new client has put a crack in his control. This is all I'm saying, as it's a super short read, so not going to give anything else away. I will tell you this, it doesn't take long for the fiery flames of sexy scene goodness (and not how you may think), to ignite and take out any and all panties, leaving them as a pile of ashes. I don't quite know what to think of Chase yet, as it's Episode 1, but I can say this, I'm very intrigued. So you may ask why I gave 5 stars, but the heat factor is a perfect rating by itself, not to mention that to me, this is shaping up to be highly original. Bottom line, just read it, as it will keep you warm these winter months. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sex Therapy or THE Therapist
This is not just "The Therapist" , it is "THE Therapist"! Even though Chase is a sex therapist, I think he will be the last therapist you will ever need. This yummy, sexy therapist will solve all your problems!

Each episode is a delicious read that will leave you wanting more. Chase has some very interesting clientele with a wide range of issues. We follow Chase as he solves his client's intimate problems with some very creative approaches and practical sessions. And then he meets Abi... a very special client that turns his word on end.

The Therapist: Episode One by JA Belfield is the first book in this series.
This is a series of Erotica Novellas. And it gets HOT. Scorching hot.
If you are offended by menages and openly practiced intercourse and explicit sex scenes, this is not your book.

Meet Chase Walker, a sex therapist who owns CW consult.
He helps couples and single persons to a fullfilled sex life.
His first couple Mr. and Mrs. T. are lack in communication. Walker can help them out. There is a mfm scene involved.
And then is there Abigail O´Shay. What does she wants from him?

5 Stars and Thank you J.A. Belfield

Okay I am not sure what I expected after reading the synopsis but, I really wasn’t expecting what I read either. I did enjoy reading Episode 1. But, I started questioning whether this is a dark book but, it isn’t after reading the other Episodes 1-4. I can’t tell you why I felt that because that would be a spoiler. Just to let you know nothing bad happens.

You will need to read each of these Episodes in order to keep track of what happens. This is a fairly short book so you should get through them fast. Sex Therapy: Episode 1 Coming in February 2017

received as part of complete set - audio copy

This is Episode 1 where we get an intro to Chase Walker and what he does as a therapist and what his personal rules are. We meet clients the Millers who have a lack of communication. We also meet new client Abby who seems to strike at the heart or lust of Mr Walker in a way no other has - but her innocence as well as her being a client means she's off limits - no matter what - but I have a feeling Abby will become an obsession Chase won't be able to resist.

This book was given to me for free (as part of a complete series) and I provided this voluntary review.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review! I was sucked in from page one and I couldn’t put it down! And the heat… Wow you better have some towels handy… you will be sweating from the sheer heat that pours from the pages! Chase Walker is one sexy therapist who swears to be in control at all costs, but his new client sort of breaks that chain. I won’t give much away I will say if you like your books dirty with tons of heat then this is the book for you! I’m excited to read more from this series!

A quick, hot interlude

Chase Walker owns and runs a very discreet, high-end sex therapy business in London. Please note that this is, in fact, an episode and not a full story, and that each episode (I've read the first 4 at this point) consists of some kind of practical session with one of the clinic's clients along with an overarching storyline concerning one specific client that Chase finds himself unusually interested in, Abi O'Shay, all told from Chase's point of view.

In this first episode, we get introduced to Chase and his two female assistants as he guides a married couple through their first practical session. We also get to meet Abi, who comes in for her initial consultation, and learn a little background on Chase.

I thought the author did a nice job introducing the set-up in this first episode, and I was already cheering for Abi. I was more ambivalent about Chase, as while we get a surface picture of what he does, we don't really get to know what kind of man he is, and I wasn't sure initially how much I was going to like him. The episode is quite short and I did find it a little unsatisfying on its own; the practical session with the married couple ate up a lot of the episode space and so there wasn't a lot of room leftover for the Abi storyline, which I would have have liked more of.

If you're looking for a quick, hot interlude, this is definitely the way to go. The set-up and the characters intrigued me enough that I was very glad I already had the next episode in hand so I could continue reading. 4 stars

I had heard a rumble about this book and decided to have a look.
I have not read any books from this author before so didn't know what to expect. I was not disappointed, the story of Chase Walker was one that I could not put down once I started it was off the charts, hot and steamy.
He was a therapist, a sex therapist and in this book you are introduced to him, his staff, his friends and his clients. He helps them to find what they are looking for, be it more spice, more spontaneous and even more bizarre. He is good at what he does and boy does he do it!
This is the first erotic romance book she has written and I hope it is not the last.
I will be looking into the other genres that she already writes in as her style of writing grabs you straight away in an enjoyable way.

4 stars, Lindsey

Intriguing this is the only word that would describe this story. What more can you say about a story about a sex therapist. It was hot, scorching, and believe me when I say you might feel a little dirty after reading this story (but in a good way). J.A.Belfirld gave a great book and I can’t wait until episode two. The writing was good, the characters great, and the plot pretty good. This was a very good start to the beginning. There was such a mixture of characters that really brought out this story that made it a mixture of suspense and romance. This is a great way to start the story especially with the different components. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

What an interesting premise for a story. He isn't a Dr but he is a sex therapist helping people with their issues or their fantasies. It was just a business until Abi O'Shay showed up as a client. Abi was the one woman that could get Chase Walker dumbstruck and infatuated. Never mix business with pleasure but with Abi, Chase couldn't not blur the lines and wish for more while being her personal pleasure tutor. This story has many layers and the sex was "hot"

New author to me

This was a new author to me and I didn't know what to expect.

When I saw that the book was only a few pages, I wondered how much detail would be told in the story. I can honestly say I wasn't left disappointed.

Following Chase, a therapist was a great journey. I just wish that it was a little longer so I was able to get a little back story of the woman at the end. The story leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read episode 2.

Title: The Therapist: Sex Therapy Episode One
Author: J.A. Belfield

4 unexpected stars

My first taste of what J. A. Belfield has to offer was intriguing to say the least. Chase offers specific therapy sessions to his clients that come asking for help based on their needs and wants. Completely discreet and full of possibilities, he follows a specific set of rules for himself when it comes to dealing with his clients and their demands. In all his career, he's never come across a client that captivates his attention as thoroughly as Abi does and to him, that's a grave problem, especially since his darkest desires only wish to come out and play.

4.5 sexy dreams

While Abi is absolutely innocent and one hundred percent virginal due to her religious upbringing, Chase hides a secret from everyone, including his own employees. I truly was and am curious to find out how Chase will deal with his own likes and preferences when it comes to Abi. His business is nothing like I had expected it to be and secretly, I find it so much more effective than our traditional methods. Do these types of facilities even exist? ;) i can't wait for more from both the author and the series.

Sex Therapy: Episode 1 was a hot and steamy 4 star read.

We meet Chase Walker a very unique sex therapist. The way that he helps couples is definitely not something I expected. He helps people with their sexual issues, wants, or needs. He has certain rules that he will not cross but at times it gets really hard for him. When he meets his new client, Abigail he is pulled right in by her beautiful eyes.

Few words, beyond unnecessary compliments, sprung forth as description of his newest client. Innocent. Wholesome. Verginal.

Abi has a problem that she want’s Chase’s help with. She is about to be married to a man who has a lot more experience than she does. Can he help her?

Chase also has a toy box with a little surprise in it. I really fell for Chase, he is a dirty boy with a dominant side. I also liked the secondary characters, they added a great element to the story. I’m looking forward to reading the next few episodes to see what happens. If you're looking for an erotic and steamy quick read, 1-click and get started on Sex Therapy today.

Hmmmmmm..... I struggled with this book and the following three episodes that came in the INTENSE series, Sex Therapy. While unique and crazy explosive, this is a case where honestly it's me not you...

Full of heat and intensity, J.A. Belfield delivers a complex and thought provoking new series that is sure to have your mind whirling with confusion and definitely squirming in your seat. This book pushed my boundaries, tested my limits , and had me way way way outside of the box that I normally read in... and not in a bad, just a different way.

I won't spoil this storyline but I'll note it's super important to follow in order with this series. After the first four installments, there is still more story to come.

For readers who like different with no limits then this is a chance you should definitely take.

J.A. Belfield's "The Therapist: Episode One" is the first tale in a new series. Seems like a great beginning to a sexy story! Chase seems like a broken leading man who doesn't realize how broken he is. Abi is a sweet treat! I loved it! Can't wait to read #2!

Don't worry.... this is going to be totally spoiler free.

This book has passion, erotica, twists, turns, and one complicated storyline that is not yet complete.

This is the beginning Chase and Abigail's story but not the end as more episodes are to follow. Chase is a different type of therapist with an odd type of therapy for patients seeking him. When he meets Abigail, he's thrown off kilter and his world is shaken.

Leave you expectations at the door and throw your ideas out the window. You will never guess the way this story will take you...

I recommend this book.
