Unable to remember who she is or where she comes from and held captive by goblins, Irena’s situation is dire, until a mysterious warrior arrives in the nick of time to save her.
Darrius has always known that one day he would need to find a wife, and after he rescues the beautiful, feisty Irena he quickly falls in love with her. But when he learns that she is of royal blood, will it change everything between them?
“The Warrior’s Little Princess” is a totally original take on age play, seamlessly combining elements of the supernatural and fantasy within a European renaissance setting. The plot is driven by both mystery as well as suspense, centered upon the unknown identity of the female protagonist and the consequence of being a necromancer (male protagonist) who has yet to find a mate. The world-building is impressive, the characterizations unique and the chemistry between the two lead characters is incendiary. Readers should anticipate moderated age play, aspects of power exchange and explicit sexual encounters. Professionally written the story line is both fast paced as well as captivating, offering truly likeable characters and a completely satisfying conclusion.
Highly recommended for children 18+ who prefer their romance with a healthy dose of kink!
This might be my favorite Sara Fields book! The romance between Irena and Darrius was super sweet, sexy, and dirty. I was actually shocked when it went there. If you're not into the D/LG and slapping kink, I don't think this is for you. I'm usually not a fan of excessive slapping but I might have grown used to the way this author writes her stories.
There isn't much in terms of story but the romance plays a significant role in driving it. Darrius rescued Irena and has designated himself her guardian. Darrius is a necromancer and incredibly powerful. On the other hand, Irena has lost her memory and does not know who she is. What unfolds is a romance that is slightly unconventional, naughty, and smoking hot. If you're looking for a short story and sexy story that might be a little bit out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend this one.
I really enjoyed this book! Whew, smoking hot with a romance that was so sweet! The chemistry between Darrius and Irena jumped off the page at you. My only wish would have been to tie up loose ends; what happened with her father and Prince when Darrius came for her, where was Darrius all that time when he left her there, did they get married...
Reading this made me hate reading for a while. I only finished it because it was part of a reading challenge. I should have just picked up something else that fit the bill because this… I really can’t even. Both characters are technically adults, but… ugh.
• It has an amnesia plot, and I really hate amnesia plots because most of them are done really badly. This was no exception.
• It has a Too Stupid To Live FMC with the emotional maturity of a 3-year-old. And I’m being generous to the FMC, because I have an actual 3yo living in my house and she’s leagues ahead on intellect, agency, and common sense. The FMC follows a shady dude into an abandoned alley on the promise of literal teddy bears.
• FMC with no agency whatsoever. The title is kind of a clue. She’s a princess, okay we get it she had people to do things for her. Amnesia made her forget literally everything except how to talk, apparently. But then she needs to get dressed and she just sits there and Clothes Make Her Confused. She just sits there and doesn’t even try to logic her way through. She waits for the MMC to show up and dress her because smol underthings beneath big outer things was too hard for her to figure out. I don’t care who she was or what amnesia (ughhh) made her forget - even if she never did dress herself, she could have a clue about which items go on first. But it’s the “not even trying” that I hated most.
• Overbearing fake necromancer MMC. Dude is apparently magic and he needs a partner because otherwise his magic will just make him rape until someone gets pregnant. Y I K E S. But people are afraid of him because he’s a necromancer. Okay then. Except the handful of people he actually interacts with aren’t actually all that scared and he never uses any magic that would justify calling him a necromancer. I was promised undead armies by calling him necromancer and none were delivered.
• FMC basically drips bodily fluids as soon as MMC looks at her. Not just a little arousal but there’s whole damn oceans flooding out from down under. Girl, there’s arousal and there’s times you need to see a doctor. Except she doesn’t have the emotional maturity to clue in.
• MMC is supposed to be a caretaker type, but he straight up just grooms the FMC. She’s technically adult but she doesn’t know who she is, where she is, or what basic sexual functions are. So he takes advantage of her amnesia and tells her he’ll take care of her but then he doesn’t explain things to her at all and just…
• He tells her he will take her to a doctor to help her with the amnesia. It turns out to be a female shaman who does ??? and a male doctor who just checks if she’s a virgin. In both holes. MMC just tells FMC it’s for her own good and doesn’t explain what is actually happening, but threatens to “punish” her if she doesn’t cooperate. Y I K E S. Again. SA by proxy, folks. Our MMC is such a dreamboat.
• None of the many tedious intimate scenes give an impression that the FMC has any kind of grasp of sexual intercourse or the level of maturity needed for informed consent, and the MMC doesn’t exactly do much to help her along on that front. He grooms her and takes advantage of the situation and did I mention the FMC made me feel like I was reading about a 3yo? I do not want to read sexual escapades of a character who gives me 3yo vibes. Just. No.
• Finally it’s revealed the amnesia is magic-induced as a result of her younger sister’s evil scheming to take the throne. There are some forced wedding shenanigans and (even more) (near-)SA hallmarked by FMC just letting it happen and waiting for the MMC to intervene, in part because she doesn’t quite understand what is happening. ARGH. Too stupid to live zero agency 3yo FMC is rescued and reclaims her position as heir to the throne. I was siding with the sister there because really, with this chick on the throne the kingdom is screwed.
This was supposed to be age play / daddy kink, but none of the age dynamic felt like “play” anymore. If the daddy antics had been largely restricted to the proverbial bedroom, okay cool. But that wasn’t what was happening at all (see also: teddy bears) and it just made the whole thing icky.
I’m fine with age gaps, I’m fine with daddy in the bedroom character dynamics. Spanking? Hell yeah. But if that’s your biggest yum then I’d still warn you off this monstrosity. I finished it just for the r/romancebooks Spring Reading Challenge and I have Regrets. It was awful and made me feel gross. Literally any other book with age play / daddy / spanking dynamics is better than this.
Irena finds herself in danger, waking up in woods, only in a nightgown, but no memory. A group of Goblins has captured her, and she is to become their dinner. Necromancer Darrius, along with Zed and Trey have been hired to rid the Kingdom of the Goblins, and in the process, they will rescue Irena. Darrius powers need for him to claim a woman and produce an heir, but can he find a woman who will want him and not by force?
The plot has a beautiful young woman, Irena, who has no memory of her life before being rescued and taken in by Darrius. Whereas most people recognize him as a Necromancer and shy away, Irena doesn’t, in fact, she is drawn to him. Darrius takes her to be checked for injuries by a physician and witch and then to his home where he will protect her, and part of that protection includes punishing her when she is naughty. Irena conforms to the correction of her Daddy Darrius, and their relationship grows, and they fall in love. What happens when they go into Renvale, and she is recognized and captured, taken to the castle, and Zed and Trey are accused of kidnapping her? Can Darrius rescue his little girl? If Irena’s memory is restored, will she shy away from Darrius, or will she still want her Daddy? “She was his little girl, and he was her daddy, forever and for always.” The story includes strong age-play, sadomasochism, dubious consent, punishments including OTK with hand, paddle, and belt, oral and anal play.
Disclosure: I was provided an e-ciopy of this book for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.
I really enjoy Sara Fields' books. This story is totally sweet and I loved Darrius. Darrius is protective of his new charge and does his best to help her in any way he can. Due to his nature, Darrius will be forced to procreate willingly or unwillingly. Because of the actions of Necromancers in the past, Darrius is feared by most everyone and with Irena's lack of knowledge about his nature, they grown closer. As Darrius falls in love with his charge and wants to marry her, her real identity is discovered. Darrius proved to be such a fantastic hero all through the story - both while protecting the people and then again while caring for Irena. I loved how the author handled the last 1/4 of the book (after Irena's identity is revealed) and the fact that she gave us an epilogue. There are some unanswered questions for me but they are inconsequential to the actual story. Just grab this book and enjoy it.
I received a copy from Stormy Night Publications and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
If this is your first time reading a book by Sara Fields, you will quickly realize that she is a must for your list of favorite authors. I have read quite a number of her titles and I have yet to be disappointed. This story has many fantasy elements like goblins, sorcerers and necromancers but it reads more like characters more familiar to most mortals. There is quite a bit of spanking and power exchange with just a hint of age play for flavor. There is an HEA, like all good fairytales must have and this is a standalone story. This is definitely a title for your TBR list!
Darrius, a warrior and a necromancer, rescues a young woman about to be roasted on a spit by goblins. Once he has this young lady, Irene is safe, Darrius begins to question how she came to be there only to discover that Irene's memories have been tampered to the point that she can't even remember how to dress and this "forced" naivety has her behaving younger than her actual age. Darius, a "Daddy dominant," is attracted to Irene's innocence and takes her under his wing to protect, nurture and of course, develop the sexual side of their relationship. Hell, it wouldn't be a Ms. Field's novel if there wasn't erotic "kink" in it now would it! 😜
This story reminded me of the movie Overboard, but with a Sci Fi twist. I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Darrius is under pressure to find a mate but he is feared by most women. Irena has lost her memory and does not remember who Darrius is. Darrius takes advantage of her memory loss and tends to her every need. Irena begins to fall in love, but as with all great romances, there is a twist. I never expected the twist or the outcome. I could not put this book down. It is steamy, sweet and will keep you on your toes. This is a definite fun read.
A spankathon book and that is about it. Something was missing. Even when the story had backbone it was cut short. For an unlimited it worked but not to the author's benefit.
I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I read it in one sitting. I would like to know who took the crown though. With the Sister betraying the realm and Darrius taking her away. That was my only compliant.

It was an easy read that took my head out of myself. Entertaining few English errors but not enough to cancel the understanding. Sara's books are always a good escape.
Sara Fields is a fav author to begin with but she has outdone herself with this book. This is a prime example of age play done superbly. Darrius is such a great character. I mean who even knew necromancers could rock the Daddy Dom so well? Irena’s character was so sweet yet sassy at the same time. A very sexy read that you won’t want to miss.
Irena wakes up in the middle of the night in nothing but her nightgown, outside. She has no memory other than her name. Then she gets taken by goblins, who start arguing on how to eat her, and not in a fun way. Darrius, a Necromancer and sell-sword, sees what's happening with his sight, takes his partners so that they can go rescue her. When they rescue her, Darrius is taken with how innocent and beautiful she is.
As part of his powers, Darrius has to continue his bloodline. It's an imperative and if he doesn't find a woman to carry his children on his own, his power will take him over and he will just keep going with as many women as possible until he does have a child. He doesn't want that. He wants someone to love and someone who will love him. The problem is that most people are afraid of him since he is a Necromancer. Irena isn't. She only sees him as her rescuer, and she loves him.
However, nothing in life goes smoothly, and that includes Darrius and Irena's story. There is a secret that could completely derail their relationship and evil machinations going on.
Sara Fields has written a story with magic, goblins, princesses, and Daddies. Darrius sees himself as Irena's guardian in the beginning, even though he's wildly attracted to her, and when he punishes her, he wants her to call him Daddy and she's his little girl. They are both perfectly happy for them and it works well. I really enjoy Sara's work, whether it's fantasy or scifi. I recommend this book for sure.
As always Miss Fields weaves her magic spell on us and captures our attention from very first page. this book is written so so well and beautifully I love the story line and the characters were first class.
