On a lovely fine day, with sun filling the sky, Two neighbor cats met in a garden nearby. In lovely warm weather, well past winter’s gloom, Soaking up spring with its flowers in bloom.
The bar is exceptionally low for kindle books but this is a good one for young kids if you have kindle unlimited and can read for free. It's very short and no masterpiece of race relations but it's an okay book, especially compared to most of the Kindle kids' book competition.
Cute rhyming book that explores the concept of hunting. White Cat is a house cat sitting inside on a pleasant day. He decides that it is a good day for hunting. When he walks outside, White Cat is successful in capturing a lizard, fly and field mouse, but the cat is easily distracted causing him to lose his prey. His owner is not impressed with her cat's catch. That night White Cat falls asleep and has nightmares about what it feels like to be hunted. White Cat learns that he should appreciate his life as a pet cat.
I think the book is most appropriate for children in the five to seven age range. Younger children will enjoy the bright illustrations, but the text is perfect for a beginning reader.
Two cats of different colors meet for the first time. Each is full of disdain for the other based on color. Then they think and decide to become the other one. Both discover both are needed and good. Neither is better than the other.
I liked the rhyming. It was fun to read aloud. The illustrations are wonderful. It teaches a lesson we all need but it doesn't preach.
This book is about diversity involving a black cat and a white cat. Upon meeting they both disagreed about their color being the greatest. This divided them. This is an excellent book for ages 3-5 for teaching the beautifulness of being different. The book is written in rhymes. The illustrations were vibrant and witty. I would highly recommend this book, especially for cat lovers.
A great teaching story on accepting each person (cat) that is beautiful just the way they are. Each cat, the black one and the white one, learn that it doesn't matter how you look, being friends is what is important.
"What started in anger ended that fine day. For all colors are beautiful in their own special way."
I plan to read this book to my great grandson who lives some miles away in another city. I liked the book because it shows that even though a person might not look like you, it's still possible to be friends once you get to know each other. That's the lesson I hope to convey to my great grandson. The illustrations in the book are very nice and colorful.
I love how sigal Adler rhymed so well for children to be amazed and intrigued and they learned an important lesson of love.
I loved reading this book to my daughter because she is the only white girl in her class and it helped her understand that she is no different than any of the other kids.
I have no clue how this book relates to teaching patience or why it's listed as doing such. However, it does offer the amazing lesson of acceptance, kindness, and being true to oneself rather than emulating others. The rhyme scheme is a little awkward in places, but overall has a decent flow and the art is charming.
This is a great book! This book teaches kids how to love one another. No matter what color you are you are beautiful. We are all different, but we should be treated the same way. Embrace your differences in a positive and loving way. I also love the illustrations because it is simple which matches the story.
The rhyming storytelling was a delight. Paired with the amazing lesson to be learned was even better. Kept our attention, made us giggle and remember that color doesn't matter. Well done!
I love Sigal Adler's books! They are perfect lessons in story form for children. My kiddo has enjoyed every single book we've read by Sigal so far. We will continue to read more.
Such a sweet book to teach your children that skin color doesn't matter. I never thought as an adult the black and white would still be an issue but it is. All matter and are special in their own way.
My grand daughters love cats and the beautiful illustration on the cover really caught our eye. I love the rhyming and story of the two cats meeting, arguing and then becoming best friends.
To me this shows about how starting a relationship on a bad note is not good! Being kind is important. I did like the fact that they took steps to try to understand the other. If I had a child I would read this book to them.
Cute rhyming books. There were two and had a good lesson about being nice to each other.
Only problem was in the second book, two pages were uploaded 3 times towards the beginning and then again towards the end. It was very confusing. Other than that, cute.
A very interesting tale of two cats thinking less of each other because of their colors, how they work out their differences and end up being fun! Illustrated nicely with rhyming story!
