I didn’t like this book.

In some books, I feel what all the characters feel: the fear, the sorrow, the pain, the joy, the love, the hate, the lust... Those feelings pass through the pages to my heart so easily in some books... But not in this one. I didn’t feel a thing all along the book. Nope, nada... Other than boredom, nothing... Maybe a little bit of anger, too because I disliked the characters...

The hero: Too alpha for my taste
The heroine: Too submissive in my opinion

I guess this book may be for the taste of many people who like this kind of characters but it didn’t work out for me. I may be in the minority but let me clarify so that you decide if you will like it or not. Whenever so-called hot scenes involve spanking and hurting, I am out! Whenever the woman is too submissive, nope, it’s not my cuppa. Whenever the alpha male starts to use phrases such as “I will brand you..”, I am out of my mind!

Well, the so-called hot scenes were of this nature. But let me also give an example of the so-called romantic scenes:

“You like to play finders-keepers”
“What makes you say that?” I ask.
“Because when you found my heart, you kept it”

Tsk tsk tsk, is this supposed to reach my heart or what? Well, I thought it was so cheesy, unoriginal and definitely cliché...

Isn’t there anything good about the book? Well, there is this action which is supposed to keep our interest but I found it boring and at the end of the book, there is this revelation of the finder’s obsession about finding things, which is supposed to melt our hearts, alas, mine stayed as solid as an iceberg still because I failed to connect to the characters in the book...

Again, I must emphasize that my dislike about the book is because of the characters and the nature of their relationship - just not for my taste, that's all...

3 Pleasantly Surprised Stars

My Thoughts:

I'm so glad I gave this a second shot after not really connecting with the sample!

I had some problems in the beginning because everything was just so unbelievable. The hero "kidnaps" the heroine because he has been searching for something for years and his finder fee for bringing her back is that item but it's not really a kidnapping because she agrees to go with him for the sake of protecting her sister.

The insta-lust was also out of control. Five minutes into their first meeting and he's already talking about spanking her ass and shit. And she's totally turned on by that.

And then she has multiple opportunities to run away but doesn't.

Oh and they go to a hotel the first night on the road and they're up there swapping personal stories! Lol. This guy is taking you to some stranger for a fee and you're playing twenty questions? This ain't no date!

But I decided to go with the flow and I'm glad because after J.T. finds out that he actually found the wrong twin and that she's actually single is when it picked up for me.

J.T. came across as a cocky asshole in the beginning but he has many layers to him that were a pleasant surprise. He also gets brownie points for fighting for him and Sloan. He wasn't giving up on them ever and I loved that about him.

Overall, I enjoyed this story more than I expected to!

When I read the blurb for this I was definitely intrigued. It sounded interesting and different. When I started, I was pretty hooked from the moment Sloan opened the door to the oh so sexy J.T. ;) I have to admit, I was a little thrown at first at the realization of Sloan being mistaken for her twin sister, Max. I wasn't sure how that was gonna play out but for the life of me, I couldn't put the book down. The story was pretty different than any I've read lately and I enjoyed that.

J.T was definitely an alpha, even if he was more of the corporate type. I really enjoyed the banter between him and Sloan. There were so many parts that I found myself laughing out loud at! I was happy that it didn't take too long for the truth about Sloan's true identity to come out, seeing as I wouldn't have liked an entire story where she was faking who she was. I really liked how J.T was new to the whole 'feelings for someone' thing but he still accepted that he was falling for Sloan. He was prepared to fight for her, even if he was fighting Sloan herself.

Sloan was a good heroine. She was flighty and ran from commitment, but she admitted this to herself and out loud. Even still, she knew that J.T was different and she wouldn't be able to run from the feelings she had for him. They were perfect together! :D And the sex, well, lets just say that I totally approved! ;)

The plot itself was well thought out. I was interested the entire time to see where it was gonna go. It kept me guessing and I couldn't stop reading. Sloan had a douchey ex who I was just waiting to see when he'd pop back up, and when he did, well... I wasn't really expecting all that happened!

Overall, I really enjoyed Finder Fees! I thought it was a really great book and since it was my first from this author, I must say that I would definitely read more from her.

This is the fourth book in the Troublemakers series. I’ve read all of the others, and each one is fabulous in its own right. I highly recommend them.

In Finder Fees, Sloan Mathis is trying to hide from an ex-boyfriend after seeing something she probably shouldn’t have. She leaves everything behind and goes to visit her cousin Lucky at his tattoo shop where she helps him out while she also gives massages, a business she’s passionate about. But she also needs to figure out what to do to get out the pickle she’s in. Unfortunately, her latest client doesn’t want a massage; he wants her--only, not really. But because her sister seems to be missing, Sloan is willing to do anything to find her.

JT Renton is a rich man who spends his time finding things. He loves the challenge. He does it simply to return these items, or people, to their rightful owners. And right now his biggest goal is to find a very special bracelet. When he’s hired to find Max, who can apparently lead him to the bracelet, he doesn’t realize he’s actually found Max’s twin sister, Sloan. The attraction between them is instant and hot. JT hasn’t received his fee yet, but he’s currently more concerned about not losing Sloan. JT knows there’s something special about this woman, and he’s not ready to let her walk away.

I loved these characters. They are fun, spontaneous and deeply loyal. Neither of them back down from a difficult situation. Sloan is very protective of her sister. JT is very protective of Sloan. He’ll do anything to keep her safe. It makes for an interesting involvement and a fun read. I can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Each book can be read alone, but there are characters that cross each story. I give this one 4 stars and highly recommend you read the others.

I love this series and I have read each book. This can be read as a standalone however, characters from previous books do make an appearance. JT is uber rich and wants for nothing, except one thing, and this job will get him that, it will be his finder’s fee. What JT doesn’t except is not only does he want his finder’s fee he wants what he is being paid to find too. Sloan is hiding from her ex-boyfriend. When JT and Sloan meet they both are instantly attracted to each other. Two days together and tension is high and they each have a mission. JT wants to get his finder’s fee and Sloan to find out what is wrong with her twin Max. This is a fast paced story and you can’t help but love Sloan and her sassiness and JT and his alpha hotness. Things are always what they seem and everyone has things in their past that they can’t get past or need to work through. This is a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Characters: The characters were well written

Sex: HOT, so so HOT!

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: yes

Genre: Romance

Would I read more by this author: yes

KELLY GENDRON, YOUR 5-STAR EROTIC NOVEL HAD ME ON A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS!

This was the first time I have read a novel by Kelly Gendron, but this most definitely will NOT be my last. FINDER FEES is the fourth novel in the TroubleMaker series, but could be read as a standalone novel.

J.T. Renton is a "finder" and returns them to their owners. As a finder, he can look for something specific or sometimes even a person only wanting the fee he charges to do so. When JT received his assignment to find a ‘missing’ girlfriend named Max. JT’s was given specific instructions to keep his hands off Max when she was captured, because she belongs to another man. JT cannot believe the request, until he meets her. JT soon discovers he did not find Max, but her twin sister – Sloan.

Sloan has had her share of bad men in her life, running from an old ex-boyfriend; she now works at her cousin’s tattoo shop and a hotel, as a message therapist. When JT discovers he has found Sloan, Max’s twin sister, all bets are off and the pages start to SIZZLE!

Unfortunately, Sloan is not looking for a relationship due to her haunting past. Will JT be able to break the walls around Sloan’s guarded heart? Will JT only find himself with a broken heart?

Kelly Gendron does a magnificent job writing a captivating story that will have you feel as if you are on an emotional roller coaster laughing and crying.

Kelly Gendron’s novel, FINDER FEES (TroubleMaker #4), receives - 5 AMAZING STARS!

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“But I’m not sure there’s such a thing as a perfect guy. In my experience, I certainly haven’t found one. I seem to attract the severely flawed and mentally deranged.”

“I can’t let another guy just come in and sweep me off my feet, only to drop me back down on my ass after he gets what he wants. I’ve had that problem since I was eight, when Jimmy Buttons asked to be my boyfriend just so he could sit with me at lunch and have some of Grandma Mora’s blue-ribbon pie.”

My Review:

This is my second Kelly Gendron book and it won’t be my last, I adore her stories and quirky characters. She writes about “TroubleMakers” but they generally turn out to be trouble-finders and trouble-fixers if you ask me. Her books are a connected series, yet each is stand-alone, so no sucky cliffhangers – yay! Her characters personalities are generally a bit edgy - but are lovable and good hearted, and while considerably flawed and feel themselves beyond hope – they are always redeemable and comprised of a soft center - once we get beyond their hard, and usually heavily tattooed, shells. The men are always cut, handsome, tatted, multi-taskers, and well experienced alpha males that sport ample “trouser meat.” The writing is witty, clever, easy to follow, and flavored with hot and tasty spices. Yum – mee! I could live on a steady diet of that alone.

Jevon Taylor “J.T.” Renton is a finder. He finds things; he finds people. His newest assignment is to find Max. Max’s boyfriend wants her back, and he hires J.T. to find her since he’s the best at his job. Well maybe not the best since J.T. just found the wrong girl!

Sloan Mathis is a massage therapist also working in her cousin’s tattoo shop. She doesn’t want to be found. Well at least not by her ex-boyfriend who she fled.

J.T. and Sloan openly flirt right from the start. Their bantering is entertaining as they try to match wits. There’s insta-lust and insta-love, but it’s a ton of fun and oh boy does it heat up.

J.T. is cocky, quick on his feet, and pretty alpha male. Sloan is equally quick with the comebacks, feisty, independent, and strong. Both characters are enjoyable, and while they may doubt they are right for each other at times, it’s clear to the reader they are.

How long will it take for J.T. to figure out he’s found the wrong girl? Will Sloan’s ex find her? What’s the story behind J.T.’s finds?

The plot has action, some suspense, danger, romance, and steam. This is a fun story about finding the wrong person and, at the same time, finding the right one. And every find has a fee…will this one be their hearts?

Finder Fees is the 4th book in a stand-alone series, Troublemaker. A preview of book five is included. I’ve not read the previous books, but they’re going on my TBR read list now.

J.T. Renton is the whisper of finding things. After finding someone years ago when he was a bounty hunter goes horribly wrong is decides he will no longer find people. No he only finds items. There is one special item he has been searching for years to find. When he is asked to find a certain person they offer a way to get the item he most wants. SO this one last time he will find a person if it can get him the priceless item he wants.

Sloan working at her cousins tattoo shop when J.T. Renton finds her. He offers her to come with him willingly but little does he know he has the wrong sister. In the end will J.T. and Sloan get the ultimate find in each other?

After Sloan is found will she tell J.T. who she really is or will someone else tell him before she does? When Sloan is put in danger will J.T. be able to save her? Or will they both end up hurt and alone?

Loved both these characters in this story and we get to get a glimpse of Lucky and Kaley (from Lucky Numbers (TroubleMaker #3)). Can’t wait for the next book in this great series!!

This is the second book in this series that I've read, but it's wonderful because each book is considered a standalone so you can pick up just one if you'd like.

JT wants for nothing.. Except the items he is attempting to find. It's what he's good at. He can find anything. He's been obsessed with getting his hands on one object for five years and it seems this object is just one job away. All he has to do is find a woman who has gone missing.

Sloan is hiding from her ex until she gets surprised on her side job of being a masseuse. Too bad she's really just being mistaken for her twin sister, but in order to make sure her sister is fine, she goes with JT.

The characters were very well written and easy to connect with, just like the other book by Kelly Gendron that I have read. The plotline is originial especially with the wicked crazy twist at the end (it's a sweet twist). I will definitely be picking up more work by this author.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is the fourth book in a series. It is definitely a great read as a standalone, but you would be missing out on a lot of good reading if you didn't read them all. There are some references that make more sense in context too.

Sloan was a favourite character of mine from earlier books, so I was delighted that it was her chance to enter the limelight. This story gives us an opportunity to catch up with old friends, but also brings a totally different type of drama to the page. I loved the twists and turns and the moments of angst, secure in the knowledge that Ms Gendron does not let her readers down. The chemistry between the leads given the circumstances in which they met, was fabulous. The talk of claiming and its implications was a theme that became ever more electric.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Hot, sexy, a little danger and a lot of banter back and forth between JT and Sloan makes Finder Fees a really fun read. I thought JT's job, helping people find items they have lots, was great and I think you could easily make an interesting series out of it on its own. I liked Sloan. She is tough, brave and did what she had to do.

I like the way Kelly Gendron writes easy to read, fun interesting characters with the perfect mix of story and steamy.

This has been my favourite book of the series so far. And the end we get a sneak peek of Fallon's story which is the next in the series and it has me crying my eyes out. I can't wait.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. To say it heated up my kindle would be a understatement and I read it at work and on my way to work. I love the chemistry of jt and sloan, it was unmistakable and remarkable. I found myself laughing at a lot of parts, going holy moly seriously? and other times just smiling. I love how the book keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next. This is the type of love we all kinda want but dont always admit to. The strong pull, the insisting on not giving up your control but having that incredible feeling that something great is going to happen. To be clear i have married the definition of the alpha male, and once they have have claimed us, they dont let go. I was happy that the book went the way i had hoped but also went in a direction i didnt expect. I look forward to the next book in the series.

A fun, sexy action packed read! JT Renton is a finder and is hired to find a woman that belongs to someone else. The only problem is when he finders her he is instantly attracted and wants her for himself. JT is shocked to learn he found the wrong woman. Instead of find Max he found her twin sister Sloan. After hearing that, the only thing he can thing about is making Sloan his and saving her from the danger she is in. JT is hot and sexy a wonderful Alpha, I loved him. This is an excellent series and this can be read as a standalone but I did enjoy them all. I couldn’t put it down great characters and an exciting plot.

J.T. Renton has been asked to find Sloan Mathis. Sounds like an easy assignment, he doesn't expect to find himself attracted to his find, for the first time J.T. wishes it was something different.

From the moment Sloan met J.T. she knew she was walking a delicate line. He doesn't know she is a twin, he has his own reasons for accepting this task. Sloan is about to discover who J.T. really is and what he really wants, her.

Very run read. There were several laugh out loud moments. J.T. is pure sensual man and Sloan is a walking seductress. Very entertaining.

Thanks to Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. This whole series has been lovely and highly enjoyable reading. I was entertained this time by a unique and entertaining idea of finder fees. A price you pay to find something that has been lost. JT sets out to find Max but instead falls for her sister Sloan. The writing and storyline was very good, and the characters had some serious chemistry. I loved the way JT teased Sloan. Overall entertainment is four stars.

**ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review by the girls and I at www.sizzlingpages.com **

I really enjoy this series so much - especially because each
book is so different from the previous ones.
This book started off so great and stayed that way through the entire
book.  I think my favorite part, that I
knew I was gonna love this book was the elevator "scene" and what came
out of Sloan's sassy mouth and her comment to J.T. - and his come-back was even
better - I nearly spit out my drink!

J.T. and Sloan together - oh man, the sexual tension was
scorching.  He was an
"alpha-male" in the true sense - and he let her know exactly what
that was.  I was "fanning"
myself with his explanation.

The sexual energy was scorching between these two - especially
before they gave in to inevitable.  The
story had some twists and turns that I didn't even see coming and ended going in a different direction than what I expected it to be - which was a very
pleasant surprise.  I love when storylines don't quite turn out how I expect them to from the synopsis.

This book had a lot of sexual tension in the beginning - and
some extremely funny moments between J.T. and Sloan.  So, if you're looking for a lighter read -
with a little suspense and some sizzling, sexy encounters with a great hea - than you'll really
enjoy this book for sure!

Nikki: When I read the blurb for this I was definitely intrigued.

Lindsay: I completely agree. I loved the sound of this book and couldn't wait to jump into it! But I was also thrown by the fact that Sloan was mistaken for her sister. I was really looking forward to J.T. going after her when she was claimed by someone else and how that would work. But...it wasn't like that. But I'll admit (and agree with you) that this was different from any of the books I've read recently.

Nikki: J.T was definitely an alpha, even if he was more of the corporate type.

Lindsay: LOL. I think it's funny that you called him the corporate type. I didn't really get that feel from him. But he was definitely alpha! And you took the words right out of my mouth regarding their banter, as well as the reveal of her identity. I hate it when that's dragged out.

Nikki: Sloan was a good heroine. She was flighty and ran from commitment, but she admitted this to herself and out loud. Even still, she knew that J.T was different and she wouldn't be able to run from the feelings she had for him. They were perfect together! :D And the sex, well, lets just say that I totally approved! ;)

Lindsay: I had a harder time with Sloan. I just had a hard time connecting to her. But I did like them together and they were steamy. I'm totally not surprised that you approved :P

Nikki: The plot itself was well thought out. I was interested the entire time to see where it was gonna go. It kept me guessing and I couldn't stop reading. Sloan had a douchey ex who I was just waiting to see when he'd pop back up, and when he did, well... I wasn't really expecting all that happened!

Lindsay: I agree, the plot was well thought out and the douchey ex question kept me interested to see if and how he would come into play.

Nikki: Overall, I really enjoyed Finder Fees! I thought it was a really great book and since it was my first from this author, I must say that I would definitely read more from her.

Lindsay: Again, I would have to agree. I can't wait to read more from her.

4 1/2 Stars!!
This is the fourth book in the Troublemakers series, but each can be read as a standalong. Since I haven’t read the other 3 books in this series, I can confirm that you can read it as a standalone and not feel like you’ve missed anything. This book was so good that I will probably go back and read the others in the series.

JT Renton is rich from his family business, but has very little to do with it. He’s a finder, but does it for the challenge of finding things, not the money. What is a finder? He finds things for people. It could be a watch from your grandpa that was stolen or a ring that was sold. JT started as a bounty hunter looking for people, but he doesn’t do that anymore….until he gets a request that he can’t refuse. JT’s been looking for a bracelet for a long time and it’s important to him. When Jack offers him information on the bracelet in exchange for finding his runaway girlfriend, Max, JT can’t say no.

After seeing something she probably shouldn’t have, she left Salt Lake City with little more than the clothes on her back. She’s visiting her cousin, Lucky, and helping him out at his tattoo shop and giving massages. She loves giving massages and it’s at an on-site massage appointment that she meets JT. She is instantly attracted to him, but she soon finds out that he doesn’t want a massage.

JT’s found Max, but he doesn’t expect to be insanely attracted to her. Her hair and style is different from the picture Max showed her, but otherwise the same. He must keep his eye on the prize, though, and basically threatens “Max” with exposure if she doesn’t come with him. Sloan isn’t sure what her sister has gotten herself into, but she agrees to go with Max to protect her sister. JT can’t help himself from pushing “Max” even if she belongs to another man. The sexual tension is outrageous. The trip is full of sexual tension, but soon they feeling more for eachother. What will happen when JT discovers that Max is really Sloan? Where is the real Max? What happens when Sloan’s problems in Salt Lake City find her?

I loved JT and Sloan! these characters. They are both loyal and playful. JT is super hot and wonderfully cocky…..not the bad kind…the DAYUM this is sexy kind!! I love how protective JT is with Sloan and ow he pushes her even when he thinks she is Max. The sexual tension is palpable and it adds so much to the build up. I love JT’s honesty and how he opens himself up to Sloan.

This is one of those stories I wanted to read as soon as I read the synopsis and it didn’t disappoint. I will definetely be looking for more books in this series and by this author!!

Ms. Gendron certainly knows how to write an alpha male that makes me swoon. J.T. is arrogant, confident and cocky and all are well-earned characteristics. His persistence has made him successful at what he does … finding things. Between that and the fact that he is worth millions, he is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it; fortunately he does it without an air of entitlement, so much like Sloan, I was drawn to him immediately. However, as the story progresses and we learn more about J.T., it was easy to understand why Sloan was doomed from the beginning – especially when he breaks out the alpha male claiming his female explanation or when he gets all growly. In a word, SEXY!

As for Sloan, I just gotta say she was awesome. The family loyalty among this clan is amazing. When faced with a rather intimidating J.T., her concern for her twin sister, Max, has Sloan holding her tongue and letting him think he’s found the right person so that she can meet Max’s boyfriend and figure out why her sister is missing. I enjoyed the back and forth between J.T. and Sloan. As much as he wanted her, he refused to cross that line because she belonged to someone else. Sloan’s last boyfriend has left her raw, so she refuses to acknowledge any possibility with J.T. Once J.T. learns that Sloan is not Max and Sloan is not spoken for, all bets are off and he intends to claim her as his own, something he never expected to happen. It is this aspect of the story that I truly appreciated. J.T. and Sloan had an instant attraction – one they both fought – but never did they pretend it was love, rather they acknowledged it for the physical attraction that it was. Even as the relationship progressed quickly, they didn’t fall into the insta-love that is so prevalent in novels lately – it was still attraction with an added aspect of caring for the other. When J.T. laid his claim on Sloan, it was just that – super hot sex marking her as his and vice versa, but still no words of undying love were uttered. Yet as they spent more time together and incidents forced them to face a life without the other in it, they realized that their feelings had progressed to those of love. While it was quick considering the timeline of the book, it wasn’t instant and it was consistent with Sloan’s family’s history of falling hard when they do fall.

The main factor that tips a book from a 4-star rating to a 5-star rating for me is whether or not I think I will reread the book and Finder Fees has definitely hit that mark. That I still need to go back and read books 1 & 2, which will lead to a reread of Lucky Numbers merely increases the likelihood of it happening, especially with Fallon’s book being released next. Thank you Ms. Gendron for sharing another enjoyable book in the TroubleMaker series.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 “alpha turned pup” STARS

Dual POV.

Being the youngest heir to a multimillion-dollar company, J.T. gets everything he wants, no matter the price tag. What he wants is Sloan, but he thinks she’s Max, her twin sister, so she’s off-limits. Soon, her true identity comes out and J.T. is relieved that she does not belong to another man. Their instant attraction is undeniable.

J.T. is not used to emotions but he accepts the fact that he is falling for Sloan. He is one sexy alpha—protective, domineering, but also caring and sweet. I liked that he was not afraid to admit his feelings and was willing to fight for Sloan—even if it is Sloan’s own walls he has to fight.

She’s found me, but I fear this finder fee is going to cost me my heart.

“I’ve never been in love. I’ve always wondered if it’s really worth fighting for, but when I think of losing you, I’m ready for war. I care about you. I need you, Sloan. And hey, I did warn you that I’ve never claimed a woman before. Sure, I’m gonna fuck up here and there, but I’m all yours, baby. Therefore, to answer your question, I guess what you win is me.”

Sloan doesn’t do commitment because she’s been burned too many times before. But she also could not deny her feelings for J.T. She is feisty, smart-ass, and kind. I really liked her. She never acted irrational and she wasn't a drama queen.

Since I’ve been fooled so many times in the past, I’m afraid to accept what I feel, let alone commit to it.

The blurb made Jack sound like a bad guy who is after Max to me. But basically the plot goes like this:

Overall, this is a short but good read. There were some hilarious moments.

Of all the books in the troublemaker series so far I must admit this is my favorite. We see two people stubbornly not wanting to admit to emotions and needing anyone. One because she was burned to much in the past and is afraid and the other is consumed with guilt and doesn’t want to have anyone to disappoint like he does his family. Sloan ran to her cousin Lucky to hide only she hides from herself as well. Her sister sensing something is wrong leaves a assignment to get to the bottom of it and this gets JT involved. Max’s boss and boyfriend hires him to find her and he entices JT with something he wants. Something he needs to have to assuage the guilt. JT goes and finds Max or so he thinks. He really meets the headstrong Sloan. Sloan who he instantly feels something with but doesn’t want to especially since he thinks she is another man’s. Sloan of course doesn’t correct him because she wants to know where her sister is. This leads to some fun antics like her hitting him with the car, the massage and shower double meanings and him explaining a alpha males branding. It also leads to JT finding out she isn’t Max’s which has him take action. And that action is really hot to read. The snarkiness in the banter to each other is fun as well and leaves a smile on your face as you watch these two fight their attraction for one another. When the truth comes out and Sloan is in danger, JT goes into protect and claim mode. Protect from danger and claim as his. Their moments together are tender, sensual and fun. JT is a caring and sweet guy. You will swoon over his when you read what has spurned him into his latest business venture. Sloan is feisty and just cute. Her walls are up and when she finds out something and misconstrues it she lets her guard up and doesn’t listen to reason. this causes some problems for JT but he does think it will resolve on its own. A fun fast paced thoroughly enjoyable book that will have you fall for the characters more with each page as they fight themselves and each other over their attraction to one another and finally submit to give us some steaminess that has us wanting more. I hope though we get to her Lucky’s brothers story and that he falls in love again soon. His will be heartbreaking and so far all have been so fun but precious none the less as we read the adventures the characters go through as they fall in love and drive each other nuts.

Ms. Gendron's TroubleMaker series continues with this fourth installment that's another delightful addition to the series. With its engaging main couple and compelling mix of mystery and romance it's easy to get caught up in the action both in and out of the bedroom. Though it's part of a series it can easily stand on its own but you'll quickly fall for the sexy and strong-willed men whose brief appearances make a lasting impression.

J.T. is a smart and sexy man good at finding things who wants for nothing, except the one item that's alluded him for years. When an opportunity arises to finally get this object he jumps at the chance and sets out in search of a woman on the run. He's instantly attracted to her photo but seeing her in person affects him even more. He's ordered to keep his hands off her which leads to unrelenting sexual tension. Little does he know though that he's actually caught the woman's twin sister which makes things even more interesting for him. Being with Sloan brings out his protective instincts. He's an intense man with things in his past that made me ache for him and that make him endearing. He's drool-worthy and has a sexy way with words that make him an unexpected hero.

Sloan may have bad luck with men but she's a delightful heroine with her spunky nature and tendency to give as good as she gets. She's outspoken and her interactions with J.T. crackle because of it. She may be down on her luck but she hasn't let it break her. She's been on the run with nothing but the clothes on her back before her cousin gave her a job. Being a masseuse is her dream job but what's supposed to be an easy appointment changes her life irrevocably. Once she sets eyes on J.T. she definitely wants to put her hands on him despite her negative feelings about men. Theirs isn't going to be an easy relationship though as their pasts interfere with their future and Sloan's loyalty to her sister draw her closer to danger.

This was a fast-paced read with great flow that had me fully immersed from page one. The main couple have crackling sexual compatibility that leads to lots of witty banter teeming with sexual tension. The blend of romance with a touch of mystery keep you on edge and deepens the connection between J.T. and Sloan. All-in-all this was an entertaining read that stands strongly on its own but leaves you wanting to read the other installments if you haven't already.

J.T. Renton is rich and he’s a finder. The challenge of finding something runs in his veins. He might have retired from finding people, but this retired bounty hunter was offered a finder’s fee he couldn’t resist when he was asked to find a woman. What he didn’t expect was to be attracted to her. He might want Sloan Mathis, but she belonged to another.

Sloan Mathis is hiding from her ex. When she came across J.T. Renton, it takes her some time to realize he mistook her for her twin sister, Max. However, to know what is going on with her missing sister, she strung him along and allowed him to believe that she’s the one he was looking for.

You’d like J.T., who won’t? He’s HOT, SEXY, RICH, a little bit COCKY and a very DETERMINED type of guy. When he sets his eye on something, he’d do anything to have it. I can’t help wondering why in the world would he busy himself in finding things when he doesn’t need the money. There has to be more to it besides the challenge it gives him. I love the fact that he was to tempted to put the moves on her, but didn’t act on his attraction until he was sure that she belonged to no one. This speaks loudly of his personality. There is so much more to his guy than his charms and his hotness, when you learn about his story and his drive on ‘finding’ things you’d fall in love with him more.

As for Sloan – this girl would do anything to solve her own problems, even if it means it can get her killed. Good thing J.T. is there to protect her. I didn’t know her ‘TROUBLE’ was really THAT BIG. I was just expecting a little mishap compared of what she was running from.

You’d laugh, you’d squirm, you’d tear up. I have read the first 2 out of 3 books from this series, and this tops it all. I think A Trouble Maker Series just got better and hotter with Sloan and JT.

Finder Fees in the 4th book in the TroubleMaker series. However, each book can be read as a standalone. This was my first read by Kelly Gendron and let me tell you…I’ll be headed back to the beginning of the series to read them all!
This book was fun and fast paced. I was never bored, not for one second. When I reached the last pages, I was shocked to have arrived there so quickly! I just couldn’t put it down.
J.T. and Sloane start off in a tricky situation, particularly because J.T. thinks that Sloane is her twin sister Max and that she belongs to another man. Their chemistry burns right through the pages of the book! Holy smokes it’s hot!!! What I really loved however, was that once J.T. discovers that Sloane is not taken, his desire for her only gets stronger. There wasn’t any element of “wanting what you can’t have.”
Sloane is a really fun character. She is guarded, with good reason, and determined to keep her heart protected. Despite her past and history of being used by guys, she has retained a strong sense of self. I loved that about her, that she didn’t let it tear her down very far. She still battles with her insecurities throughout the book, but one of the best parts was watching her overcome them, little by little. She is strong, determined, and fiercely loyal. She determines to be a complete pain in the ass to J.T. and she absolutely delivers. Their banter was very amusing and even had me chuckling out loud from time to time.
J.T… Oh that man. I was all kinds of hot and bothered with his alpha ways. I thought it was unique that the author gave J.T.’s character an open acceptance of his alpha ways. The way he described an alpha’s need and ability to “brand” their woman and make sure that every single little part of her knows she belongs to him, was sexy as hell. He is completely aware of his caveman instincts and cocky enough to know what a turn on it is. Often, the author is all about show, rather than tell with this type of hero. Get out the ice and turn the temp down on your air conditioner before you read this. J.T. will melt your panties right off!
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from this author. If you’re a fan of feisty women, bossy, domineering, and incredibly sexy men, you’ll love this book!

“Embrace the TroubleMaker in you!”

Another gem from Kelly Gendron as she continues to share with us the exploits and adventures of "Aunt Lulu's" nieces & nephews. If you haven't read the whole series you will still enjoy this book but believe me you WANT TO read these funny, smexy, charming and endearing books!

Sloan and her twin sister Max have been getting into trouble pretending to be each other since they were kids. So when “Finder guy” J.T. Renton finds Sloan and assumes she is Max, who has been out of touch for a few weeks, why wouldn’t Sloan play along? After all, maybe he knows something about where or what Max is up to.

As far as J.T. was concerned, Max was a woman he HAD to find because the fee he was offered was priceless and something he could not afford to live without. While he may have noticed she was pretty in the photo, he is awed by the beautiful woman he finds in reality. A woman who belongs to another man. A woman he cannot have, no matter how badly his body, his mind or his unworthy heart, want her.

I have been a fan of Sloan’s since we first met her and when I found out hers was the next book I was thrilled! Sloan is a woman of substance who loves her pastries and is not ashamed of her curves but doubts that any man could love her, mostly because she has horrible luck at picking men. When she meets J.T. Renton there is an “instant attraction, the crazy, love at first sight kind” and she has a feeling she isn’t prepared for the kind of man he will turn out to be.

I won’t say much more because I hate spoilers. But trust me when I say this book, and indeed this whole series, continue to be one of the best written and most entertaining things out there in the romance world of today! Kelly Gendron’s TroubleMaker’s should be on everyone’s “Must READ the moment it comes out” list.

And for those who are fans or devotees of the series – like myself – the next book is going to be an even bigger doozie! There is a tiny snippet from it at the end of this book and as usual, the woman does not (not do I think she knows how to) disappoint.

Finder Fees

A Trouble Maker Novel

Book Four

Kelly Gendron

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

J.T. Renton has a interesting job, one that he does solely because of the joy it brings people. He finds things and returns them to happy owners. This time is quest is to find a person, a girlfriend that is missing. He has been given explicit instructions to keep his hands off of her as she belongs to another. He believes this to be a warning given in vain until he finds her and spends time with her. She is like no one that he has met before and the attraction is instant and intense. He fights it, as he morally should.

Once he finds out that he has “found” the wrong sister and that she does not belong to anyone, well, all bets are off. However, Sloan is running from something in her past and she is not looking for a relationship right now. He will need to break down her walls to discover what she is hiding and who she is hiding from. Things are bound to get a little bit interesting as well as dangerous.

There is also the matter of what J.T. is hiding, the reason that he offer to search for Sloan’s sister in the beginning, his payment of that job was a bracelet which he believes is in Sloan’s possession. When she finds out that he has not told her this she is bound to doubt the feelings that he professes to have for her.

I loved this story. I have read the first three and will definitely continue to read more by this author. She does a great job with character description as they are very easy to identify with. They story line sucks you right in and you are crying along with Sloan and cursing beside J.T. when things get dicey. I loved how there is a great story line as well as some awesome sex scenes. The characters do not just jump into bed at the beginning and the sexual tension between them mounts and mounts. I loved it. I would certainly recommend this story to all romance readers. I would rate it a 5

The Troublemaker series by Kelly Gendron is one of my favorites! I’ve been following it since the first book, Broken Fences and eagerly wait for the next book in the series every time I finish the newest one. This time I was waiting for Finder Fees.

Finder Fees is Sloan’s story and she is related to the other main characters in the series, like Lucky and Fallon. Max is her twin sister.

J.T. is a bounty hunter of sort, except he typically doesn’t “hunt” humans. He hunts down things. His latest search brings him across Sloan’s path and it is fireworks between these two from the get go. There is attraction there that is huge, but there is also a situation on both parts that has each of them holding back for their own reasons.

Both of these characters are smart, sexy, funny, and don’t back down in any situation. Sloan doesn’t seem quite as feisty as her female counterparts in the rest of the series, but it’s ok because she isn’t those characters, she is her own. The story is fun to follow, with an element of danger to it as Sloan is trying to stay away from her past. It was entirely to easy to sit down with this and not realize that a couple of hours had gone by as I devoured the whole book. Though I do think that Lucky is still my series boyfriend for this set so far.

All in all great book! I cannot wait for the next one which I believe is Fallon’s story and from the bit in the back of Finder Fees, it is going to be just as amazing as Lucky’s story was, if not more so.

Thank you so much for my copy of Finder Fees!

Hmm ok so, I read a lot of glowing reviews about this book on Goodreads and it just didn’t turn out to be all that I expected and hoped it would be.

It had a strong start and the prologue was great and I loved the vibe it gave for the story. But, as I progressed, I thought that the book lost its touch. Then, nearly in the end it was somewhat nice again but then again that doesn’t make up for everything in between.

The book didn’t make me feel. The whole time I was reading it, I was nuetral the whole time. No laughs, no smiles, no tears, no emotions. And I didn’t feel anything for the charcters. That’s not the sign of a really good book now, is it?

Though it wasn’t all bad. Where it lacked in making me feel, it made up with the story line. It was really nice, with a alpha male and a fiesty heroin. Both having dark pasts of their own. First we discovered Sloan’s past the J.T.’s past (or at least a part of it.) and last but not the least THE BRACELET! What’s the bracelet you ask? It’s an important part of Jevon’s part and is there throughout the book. That’s all I can tell you about it, the rest you will have to read and find out.

Bottom line: I can’t say that this was the best book ever made but, it wasn’t the worst of them. And well, it’s not worth re-reading but, I can’t say that I regret reading it once.

this was my first book to read in this series and while it is a stand alone story, i will probably go back and at least read lucky's story since he was featured so prominently in this story and i liked him! i really liked this book - it had the potential to not be my favorite because i thought it might have a love triangle (which i don't do) but ms. gendron handled this little twist nicely! i've not read a story like this and it was refreshing to read something so different. there is almost a story within a story here with sloan's twin max and her love interest jack (i'm hoping we'll see them in the future in another troublemaker book).

when JT and sloan meet, you realize that you are dealing with 2 very strong characters and their banter is entertaining and the chemistry is off the charts with their instant attraction. because sloan is impersonating her sister up front, nothing happens between the 2 of them (can you say sexual tension and
frustration?)...

i like how strong sloan is, however i don't like how much she fights her attraction to JT. i understand her track record isn't stellar but JT is clearly different.

JT is amazing from the get-go but his true character is not fully revealed until about 80-85% into the book when you find out the stories behind his 'finding'...and can i just say 'the bracelet' in the cemetary scene...i was sobbing!

i am glad i got the opportunity to review this book and will going back to read the first 3 books and any future books in this series! the foreshadowing to the next book is quite captivating!
