Sometimes all the answers you need are right there in your reflection.
Blanche She moved from Nowhere, Pennsylvania to Hollywood with dreams to make her way to the big screen. What she found were dead-end jobs and her chances at stardom slipping through her fingers each day that passed. That's until she finds herself house sitting her idol's five thousand square foot home. She never realized how many secrets her idol had, including a devastatingly handsome man living in her bedroom mirror.
Bane If he had learned one thing in all his two hundred years of life was never piss off the bosses. Trapped in a mirror prison for the last twenty years, Bane's only thoughts were getting out and finding the daughter he had left behind. That all changes when he gets caught peeking on Blanche, assistant to movie idol Paulette Declare. Dangerously naive and a body that would make a eunuch pause, Bane doesn't know what he wants more, to help her see the world for what it was or protect her from it all. Either way, he would have to find a way out and fast.
Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.
On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!
Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.
Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.
This is a story , but I soo would NOT call this a romance...
This is a story , but I soo would NOT call this a romance... Seriously, how in earth can you call a story a "Romance" when over 70-80% of it is spent with the two main characters either with other ppl or caught up in their own inner monologues and angst , granted Bane is trapped in a mirror but they still could have had time together getting to know each other and building a connection but sadly for us , Blanche ( by the way not my fave name for a heroine, all I can do is either think of is either one of my favorite "Golden Girls" or the one from "A Streetcar Named Desire" and well neither were the images I wanted when reading this) any way, Blanche might be sweet and kind and loyal but she was also a bit flighty and spent more time getting up set and running away from Bane at 1st then trying to get to know him,bit that Bane was much better all he really wanted to know was how to get her naked and inside her ..... Then the delay of them getting their whole 5 minutes together because Blanche was soo goofy she couldn't take 5 minutes to give Bane the address to the house she worked at and practically lived for two years ? Yeah ok... Seriously Blanche could be brave at times but to me she wasn't always the sharpest knife in the drawer... Ok, spoiler alert 🚨 / reason I'm kinda ticked .... The MC's spend over 75-80% of the book w/out each other ( sighs) either talking in their own heads or to each other, spend a few hours more or less getting to know each other and then one sex scene I didn't take seriously because the h was sleeping and didn't seem to know Bane had slipped in ( only his p.o.v. ) I could take a sex scene seriously when only one was only fully aware what was going on... I mean come on!!!! Only one scene and the h only thinks she's having a really erotic dream? To me the purpose of sex in a book isn't just for us to get our proverbial rocks off, its to bring the couple closer, to bring a intimacy to their relationship they didn't have before.... You can't get that in a dream only one is truly aware of ... That was BS, foolishly I thought there would be more but there wasn't.... When Bane doesn't get out til nearly the end of the book I was Rather unhappy 😡 ( just amazon might be if I used the word I really wanted to use) any way , he hugs her, kisses her and then disappears for a year w/out a way to contact her ( didn't ask and Blanche as usual was too goofy to tell) she being more loyal that that stray you picked up from the pound, still only wants him even though in all that time all she gets is a few dreams, and they honestly didn't spend any real time building a connection, then his daughter finally pushes him to go see her after he's been there w/her a year, he goes Blanche rushes over to him like her long lost ❤️ they kiss the end... And I'm left going WTH?!?!? Honestly I didn't enjoy this as a story ,more Blanche running around gossiping /others or caught in her inner angst, Bane more less the same only he had only one to talk to and I wouldn't call this a romance because their barely together a 10th of the book and their connection would only make sense if they were "fated mates" and while I guess the could have been ? That aspect was never explored... 2 stars felt too harsh, but 3 feels way to kind... Sorry Ms.Bedford this was my 2nd try and not trying again, just Thankful for KU
So imagine if Snow White were to happen now. In Los Angeles. Not just Los Angeles, bit Hollywood. Snow White is a young, pretty ingenue named Blanche (“blanche” means white in French) who works for an evil, aging actress named Paulette and everyone “in the world” knows that Paulette is a bitch who’s hired her assistant simply to keep her down. Keep her from becoming a successful actress in her own right.
This is the basic premise of Mirror by Erin Bedford. The rest of the cast is filled out by a troupe of gardeners. Buff, handsome brothers whose names all begin with the same letter; Guess how many there are? Yes seven, that’s right. And of course there is a mirror on a wall. But here’s where the story turns a bit. There’s a creature living in the mirror named Bane, who’s part of the Fae world; he’s been imprisoned inside and can only look out to the “real” world through the mirror. There’s also a Cheshire cat-like creature who can move between worlds at will; in fact, there’s an entire other world of Supernaturals who apparently share our Earth with us.
So that’s the set up, and it’s very imaginative and has a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the beginning of this book, and I liked knowing all of the above. But I realized when I was about three-quarters of the way through, that the story wasn’t going to go nearly as deep as I’d hoped, and while thinking this, I finished the book!
I’m not saying what I read was bad; everything there is fine. I was just hoping for more. More character development, more play off the cleverness of the set up, more action. I never really understood why Bane and Blanche were so drawn to each other , or why Blanche couldn’t see how horrid Paulette was, and I definitely needed more of the seven dwar–um, gardening brothers. Between the fact that they were all buff and had similar names, I couldn’t tell them apart. This book could have been twice as long, and it would have been twice as good, and twice as interesting too, because there’s so much material there that wasn’t mined. I felt like I was reading a skimmer version of the book. The world of the Fae could have had its own chapter, just for introductory purposes before the actual book began, I think. And we definitely could have used much, much more of Blanche and Bane interacting. And Paulette’s sneakiness and subterfuge would have benefitted from more page time as well.
So, this book works perfectly well as a snapshot of the characters, of the two worlds and everything that happens, but this reader can’t help but felt that more happened, or could have happened… around the corner and out of sight.
This book is really good, and I love how this was more into a look of how a woman sees herself rather than just a romance tale. The romance was good as well, and I really like Bane, but Blanche learning that she was better than the witch - I mean, woman - she worked for? That was what really made this story good.
This puts a different spin on the man in the mirror, who I've never seen as a bad guy, but a victim of circumstance, and it was an enjoyable read to have him actually BE a victim in this. While he was technically guilty of the crime he committed, I don't feel that the punishment necessarily fit the crime, but with fae the rules seem to be fickle and all over the place, so maybe?
Like the others, there was a little bit more world-building, and this one felt a little more modern, but it was not a bad read. Short, again, and I would have liked to have seen more to the story, but overall a decent book.
Mirror is the fourth book in the Fairy Tale Bad Boys series by Erin Bedford. A fairy tale retelling of Snow White, Mirror is a fast-paced and engaging read. Blanche’s character was strong, not some wilted flower, and the attraction between her and Bane is obvious from the get go. A slightly predictable story but enjoyable nonetheless.
Small town girl, Blanche is striving to be Hollywood’s next big thing. Currently an assistant to famous movie star Paulette, she is overworked and manipulated. Stuck in mirrored prison, Bane hangs in Paulette’s bedroom. While Blanche is house sitting, she finds the mirror with Bane, who just so happens to be watching her, insta-attraction. Only nothing can come of the relationship while he is trapped in the mirror.
I voluntarily reviewed Mirror as an advanced copy from the author.
Mirror mirror on the . . . Well Gawd Damn you're fine!
7 brothers (dwarfs) that all GORGEOUS! I figured out Doc, Happy, Dopey, Bashful and Grumpy. However, Sleepy and Sneezy don't exist - not sure what substitutes they were supposed to be (maybe Beefy - his muscles and big frame - and Uptight - on account of his overprotective behavier). But honestly a new and exciting twist on Snow White. I loved It! However, Bane is black and is Page's father . . . How come there was no hint at her coloring/skintone/ethnicity in the last book? I kinda feel like that was important info.
Once I started reading this story I couldn't put it down. Someone being trapped in a mirror that you can see and talk to, but not touch was a great way to capture my attention. I loved reading about Bane and Blanche's getting to know each other and Blanche's path to stardom. This is a great quick read and I loved every second of it. Erin does a wonderful job writing and her stories are the best.
Blanche is an aspiring actress who discovers a fae imprisoned in a mirror in her bosses home. The fae in question isn't really sure why he's imprisoned and is regretting never knowing his daughter.
This had sooooo many typos it was almost impossible to read. On top of that, the characters were kinda lame so gave up on this one.
Pure drivel. Typos, disjointed storyline. The main character just couldn’t believe her boss would sabotage her attempts at an acting career by keeping her as an assistant forever that she yelled at everyone who tried to tell her different. Unbelievable.
The man trapped in the mirror leaves her as soon as he’s free? Trite. Drivel. I want my time back.

Bane and Blanche's story ties up a loose end and is a good read, and Ches makes a couple of appearances and so does his lady...hope the brothers get their own stories
A very cool read about a kind of modern Snow-white and the continuation of the Fairy Tales Bad Boy serie. This time we learn more about the Moderator and the fairy world. I also loved a certain Cat!
Another great Fairy Tale Bad Boy read. I enjoyed both characters, Blanche & Bane. Neither of them were the type of characters that get on your nerves. I enjoyed their story, it was entertaining and steamy. I really liked when it brought in a couple characters from a prior book as well. Giving you some more insight on that story as well as the relationship that was growing with Bane and his Daughter. That is all I'm going to say. I loved it but wished we knew a little more about Blanche & Bane after they reunited again after being apart for a while. Highly recommend this. It's a pretty quick read as well.
I received an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review. Erin never ceases to amaze me! This is the first of her 'Fairy Tale Bad Boy' book that I've read, but I plan on reading the other three. Mirror captured my mind from beginning to end. The characters are well defined as is the world building. Erin left nothing out of the magical world she created where supernaturals lived among humans. It was completely enthralling. I loved how Blanche came into her own. She had to learn a few things the hard way, but she had a little help with the gorgeous, hunk of male fae stuck in a mirror. As the story unfolds, she learns who truly cares about her and has her best interests at heart...with a little heated romance along the way. I fell in love with this book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series! This is a 5 star must-read!
Blanch wants to be a actress but is working for her favorite actress, who turns out to be a not so nice person. While in the actresses bedroom she thinks she sees a shadow in the mirror but looks in it and sees nothing. While house sitting she finds out what it is! Can she help Blane and will she stand up to her ungrateful boss? I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book.
Every time I read a book by Ms. Bedford, her wonderful writing draws me straight into the story and won’t let me go until the end. This book was not an exception. Bane is a fae who is caught in a fae prison with a window into Paulette’s, who is a celebrity, bedroom. On her end, it’s a mirror, and she has no idea he is there. When Paulette goes on vacation, her assistant, Blanche, catches Bane watching her, and soon a romance begins to blossom. Will she be able to save him from the mirror, or will he be stuck there forever? I love how in just a few pages the author can show so much tender emotion between two characters, and then turn it around into a heat- and chemistry-filled tale, so hot it will burn your hands. The characters also come alive and feel so real, it’s hard to believe the book isn’t longer than it actually is. You will never go wrong with a book by Ms. Bedford. If you love paranormal romance books with romance and sizzle, buy this book! Highly recommend!
If you love paranormal romance books with romance and sizzle you can not go wrong with this authors books! I love how every one of the Fairy Tale Bad Boys books are tied in together even if it is just through a person! The world that this series is set in is so great that no matter which book you pick up you get pulled in and root for the underdog. I love how Blanche handles things that are thrown at her and in the end she has her happy ending. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.
Interesting storyline. Good writing and a fast moving love story. Loved reading this book! I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.
I love fairy tale remakes and this definitely doesn't disappoint. This is a Snow White remake. Even though I loved fairy tales as a child (every little girl does!), I couldn't help but think some times that the fairy tale princesses were just a little weak. That is not the case with this remake. Blanche is stronger than Snow White was. She figured out who her real friends were and what was going on. Then she took control and that made me like her a lot. I also liked that "the mirror" was portrayed a bit differently. This is definitely a good read and my only complaint was that it was too short. I really wasn't ready for it to end.
Oh I was so waiting for this one, I had to know what happen. This one answered about every question I had, other than I wanted to know what did Bane do or didn't do to get punished. But this is wonderful addition to the Fairy Tale Bad Boys series! Blanche was a good female lead, she wasn't whinny and timid, she held her own with the 7BrotherLawn Service and with Paulette and Bane. Another wonderful fairy take retold. I can't wait to read more. Reviewed by GypsyBelle ** I purchased/own a copy of this book**
I didn't know what to expect when I first started reading this book. Usually I'll have a broad feeling of how the story would go, but this is surprisingly unexpected in a good way. It's different than most of the paranormal/urban fantasy romance I've been reading lately. It's sweet with a touch of humor and so much hotness. Definitely recommended.
I received this book free from the author. I am voluntarily choosing to review it. This is the fourth book in the series and I must say that Erin Bedford writes a very exciting story. I love twists on fairy tales and this is no exception. A really good, well-written story that keeps you reading and enjoying.
Twist on a bad boy and a fairytale. Erin Bedford has do it again taken the man in the mirror and made him sexier and hot as hell. Bane is stuck in a mirror, Blanche is an assistant to an actress. Blanche want to be an actress. Erin Bedford takes these two different characters and makes a fantastic fairytale. You never know what's going to happen next.
What an addictive and compelling book!! I adored this book and i just couldn't stop reading it!!! I love this authors writing and the more that i read of it, the more i love it. the author has such a way of writing that pulls you into her fairy tale world that you want to be a part of!
This storyline was so enjoyable, i loved it! I love how this author is able to take a fairy tale and write a brilliant book set in modern times but still with the fairy tale aspect to it. The storyline is extremely imaginative and full of vivid descriptions throughout! These aspects make this book a major page turner for readers and i would definitely highly recommend this after reading the storyline.
Blanche is a brilliant character who is so relatable and such a genuine character. She definitely has a pureness to her which is shown in hr big heart, she always sees the best in people and always wants to help anyone if she can. You definitely feel for Bane in this book, he is definitely someone i would like to know more about, especially his history. Being someone who has always hidden his emotions he does struggle with them but he also has a huge heart and is very protective of those he cares about.
All i can say is readers, you need to get this book!!! It is such an amazing read!!!
Mirror is a twist on Snow White. Bane made the Queen mad and ended up in one of the mirror cells from the authors Underground series. I love the crossover of Chess and Lady. Blanche is feisty and with that she is can be sassy, but a little to naive and trusting. The gardening brothers are actually hilarious in their own way. Bane is really good. It's a great read and loved the tie in with his daughter from Thief.
Blanche's story is a variation of Snow White with the typical Hollywood ingenue put upon by the jealous start.
Bane, the man in the mirror, is more than he appears.
The characters aren't as well developed as I would have liked; Bane in particular. You don't really know or find out a lot about him. I would have like a bit more info on him including his story with Sage's mother from the previous book. He comes of very shallow. Hopefully, since the books are connecting, we'll find out more about him rather than the snapshot we're given here.
