One Scandalous Night

Rate this book
Can one night with a rake be enough for a lifetime?
Miss Bella Lacey desires to accomplish two things before settling into an unfulfilling marriage to the man her father has chosen. First, she intends to inveigle a goodly amount of money for her orphans from a man of means and, second, to have one night of passion to help her endure the dreary years ahead.
When Derrick, Lord Eaglestone, a wealthy viscount with a scandalous reputation, agrees to donate to Miss Lacey’s charity, he has only seduction in mind. Little does he suspect that Miss Lacey has already chosen him to debauch her before she weds another. The lady has virtually fallen into his lap, but much to his annoyance, he finds himself reluctant to oblige her.

Wonderful Story with Steam!

This storyline takes place 1878 London. Miss. Bella is interested in having the very handsome and rich Lord Eaglestone sponsor her Orphanage.
They meet at a dinner party and every Lord wants his business advice, but are sadly for him, hypocrites!
He is a strong willed and successful Lord, he does not care what anyone says or thinks about him.
I loved Bella for so many reasons. She is as independent as can be with parents! She is strong willed and daring.
This is a flowing storyline with interesting secondary characters. Some suspense to keep you waiting to read more. I really enjoyed the main characters, Bella and Eaglstone, their attraction will sizzle your kindle! Also, the ending is one that Eaglestone-Derryk deserved ❤️♥️

This was an enjoyable short story, and I'd give it 3 and a half stars.

The heroine Bella, had asked the hero Derrick, who was also helping her with her charity aimed at providing skills for orphans, to relieve her of her virginity. This was to stop her betrothal to a particulary odious "gentleman."
Derrick like the gentleman he was he accepted, with the proviso it would be 1 night and there would be no hope of a permanent arrangement.
Add in a smart grandmother and some circumstances and we have a lovely compact story.

It has been a while since i have read any Maggi Andersen stories and will have to look out for more.

This one I have as a standalone but is also part of the Anthology "Seven Nights Of Sin". 2016.

Great book

Great book, loved the storyline and the characters, would rate it higher than 5 stars. Wished it was a bit longer though, simply because it was so good

Good

I did enjoy this book, even though I found the story line a bit weak, and it was much too short. I’ve read better books from this author. So I’ve only given it four stars.

Good read.

Somewhat simplistic and a bit lacking. Writing good, that's why I wanted more. Seven more words words words words required.

A different era from Andersen's usual Regency romps (Victorian). Read it in only a few hours. Well worth my time. You won't be dissappointed.
