Warlock of the Magus World #4

Passage of Bloodlines

Rate this book
What happens when a scientist from a futuristic world reincarnates in a World of Magic and Knights?

An awesome MC — that’s what happens!

A scientist’s goal is to explore the secrets of the universe, and this is exactly what Leylin sets out to do when he is reincarnated. Dark, cold and calculating, he makes use of all his resources as he sets off on his adventures to meet his goal.

Face? Who needs that… Hmmm… that guy seems too powerful for me to take on now… I better keep a low profile for now.

You want me to help you? Sure… but what benefit can I get out of it? Nothing? Bye.

Hmmm… that guy looks like he might cause me problems in the future. Should I let him off for now and let him grow into someone that can threaten me….. Nahhh. *kill*

This arc was boring when it wasn’t interesting, however that’s much better than virtually unreadable when it’s not interesting like the first two arcs. Unfortunately this was also the worst arc when it came to consistency of characters and plot. Rather than the Passage Of Bloodlines this arc should be named the Plotholes and Pure Laziness. Some examples include:
- MC’s daughter becomes his son
- Jayden and Kaliweir comes back to life (although the author later remembered at least one was dead)
- Somehow the MC controls rather than subdues all warlock bloodlines to some extent for no reason other than advancing
- Random extreme personality/motivation changes
- MC steals something from Melinda but the author forgets this and has het gift it to MC later on
- MC leaves all his other children to die(?) due to the fact that he only gave protection from the Snake Dowager to his son and daughter/son (depending on the gender the author settles on). Alternatively the author forgot he had other kids, yet later made up more wives for him.

I read this book on Wuxiaworld.

The neverending climb in power continues, as our warlock protagonists finally achieves a mission he put himself some books ago. The way he does it surprised me a lot, but fell quite withing the boundaries of the universe.

I'm quite enjoying this series of books.
