My problem with this book is that it really wasn't story. There wasn't a plot, or conflict, and no antagonist. It was more like a diary in the life of a woman who's in a very understanding, but stagnant (due to health issues) relationship with her husband. She discovers how much she likes women and falls in love with one. It's sweet, and nice and there's never any angst or issues. It felt like an attractively written day to day account in this woman's life. We read about her getting up, getting dressed, showering, going to work, going out, having sex and going to sleep. Rinse and repeat. They go some new places and on vacation, but its still a retelling of what happened during the day. I had a couple of hopeful moments where tension was hinted out, but nothing happened and everything was just fine.
There are some glaring editing issues, not with spelling, but with punctuation. Mostly with the quotes around dialogue, which I found somewhat stilted as well. The sex scenes were soft and romantic, and became more abbreviated as the story went along, summarized in a few sentences. The general descriptions of the food and clothing and scenery were well done, but lead to more of the feeling of a travel journal.
I had a very hard time reading this as it just never went anywhere for me and was quite long for something that didn't have a plot. The authors have potential and were able to capture the environment and a gentle relationship just fine. A plot outline and pacing editing would be recommended for future work.

I liked the story and the whole cast of characters. Susan's husband is the most understanding person in the plant. There are a lot of hot and sexy scenes in this book. I have all 5 books in the series and look forward to see how Suzy and Katie's story unfolds. I did find however that the book has a lot of spelling errors.

A Sweet Romance Between Two Women
First Blush is a lesbian romance. Let’s just make that clear from the outset, in case you were expecting a man and woman love story, this book is not that. The love that blossoms between Suzy and Katie is beautiful and well done. If you like lots of detail and the story being drawn in crisp clear pictures and a narrative that is not in a hurry to get told, then you will like this book. The love scenes are tasteful and don’t go into much detail. That said, there were three main problems that kept this from being a good reading experience for me. The first is that there are a great many errors in the manuscript, which is too bad because they kept distracting me from the story. The dialogue was unrealistic - at least, I don’t know anyone who talks that way. And there is zero conflict. Nothing ever goes wrong. I think that First Blush is a great start on a story that needs just a bit more work to really shine. The descriptions are lovely and I think there are a lot of good things about this book but it just needs a little more TLC to be truly great. I would gladly change my star rating if the author does some rewrites and editing.

First Blush was very high in detail regarding what the characters ate, what they wore and where they parked the corvette. The love story was well done and the intimate scenes were well written. However, there were many editing issues. But the most frustrating part of the book was that there was no conflict, aside from one snarky comment from a lady in a casino. Many times there was repetition because the characters always knew how others would react to their relationship. There was no tension, no sense of the unknown. They were two main characters that fell in love, but it's as if nothing else ever happened. Everyone was happy for them. I struggled a bit. Had I paid for the book, unfortunately I don't think I would have finished it. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Two women—one married, the other single—fall in love. 34 year old Susan Wilson-Jamison (Suzy) is married but not happily when she meets Kathleen Anders (Katie). It doesn’t take long for their friendship to blossom. First Blush is a sweet story of girl meets girl. No, you won’t find conflict, but that doesn’t take away from the story. Just like in real life, some lives are filled twists and turns while others follow a straight path. I enjoyed the story. I found some issues, but according to the author the book is in the re-writing/re-editing stages, therefore I won’t mention them; nothing a good editor can’t fix.

I liked this book. However it has a lot of typos almost to the point it started to confuse me. I do hope the story line gets deeper. I will finish the series, because I'm curious where this journey takes them.
