I love how the beginning starts with a nice little life lesson that more people should really consider. Always, and I do mean always, trust the opinions of your family and close friends. If they don't think a guy is right or good enough for you, trust them! I know this doesn't work in every situation but if you have a close relationship with your mother, and she tries to get you to not marry your fiancé, that should be sending off warning bells big time. Trust your family, and trust the guy's last reputation. Actions always speak louder than words.

“His soul was looking for yours. He’s waiting for you to bring him back or let him go.”

^THIS. Oh be still my beating heart.

I'll be honest upfront, I was seriously not feeling the heroine at the beginning. She was whiny, she was immature, childish, naive, and was completely grating to me. I'm *extremely* happy to say that after 30%(ish) she starts to get better and more bearable. I never became a member of her fan club, but she wasn't annoying anymore either.

I have a bit of a problem with Karrie's hatred towards Tyler, mostly because there's no basis for it. She hates him because she thinks he's rude and a bad influence (on her husband who is 15 years older than Tyler) but the level of hatred that she holds for him is beyond ridiculous! She's suppose to be almost thirty and yet, holds grudges like a teenage girl.

“I guess I should thank you then.”
“Thank me?” he questions humorously. “For what?”
Inhaling quietly, I muster the courage to confess. “For not being the person I thought you were.”
Dragging his eyes upward, he smiles and exhales. “Thank you for being the person I always knew you were.”

One thing that I do need to note too is that I found this to be quite predictable. Except for the twists at the end, I saw them all coming a mile away. It takes away some of the guessing, sure, but I liked thesweetness between the two main characters and that helped to make up for it.

The story definitely picks up for me after the 30% mark. Not only does Karrie grow up and calm down, but we start seeing Tyler and how he interacts with Karrie is just so sweet. At this point, I was desperate to see these two fall in love and see what happened, but I felt a little bit cheated. If you're not an instalove fan, you're probably not going to love this book. You don't get to see the journey of them together, per se, because it just happens so fast.

“Sometimes you don’t see the beauty in something until you step back and look at it from a distance.”

So with all of this being said, I read this book in one sitting and that NEVER happens with me. I'm kind of like a squirrel... Or a cat. Small attention span and I get distracted by shiny objects, so this is definitely a testament to the author and her story telling abilities. Sure, I had some grievances, it's not my favourite book ever, but it's still a good read in its own right. Otherwise I would've gone to do something else instead of read read read. Seriously! Friday night, I had dinner, put in my pjs and read cover to cover.

The ending was super awesome. And by ending I actually mean the last several chapters or so. I believed their words and actions, I felt their relationship really blossom and like they deserved to be together. I would've loved to see their relationship grow in the first place instead of being instalovey, but I was happy with the stage that they ended up at in this process.

“Karrie, with you by my side, I can do anything because I’m… stronger than ever.”

The last twenty percent I was head over heels in love with. I loved the feelings, drama, emotion, all of it! I couldn't read the pages fast enough and was devouring every word until a major twist at the end. A twist that was fairly brutal and I actually kind of hated it. I can't figure out a reason as to why this needed to happen. And all together, there's more like two big twists at the end. The first of the two was fine, I know there needed to be some pivotal moment between the main characters, but it was the explanation that got to me. It just felt like such a cop out solution! The second was the one that I can't understand the reasoning for. I just don't feel like it needed to be this specific person/issue and it breaks my heart. I know, I know, the author knows what she's doing and has a reason for it, but damn it I don't agree this time! LOL.

I admit my distaste for a man I knew to be dick did not diminish my empathy for his wife. L.M. Carr makes sure that you feel her love, devotion, and frustration. You will know pain reading this book. Confusion, desperation, and disgust. Fear, distrust, and sorrow. Disbelief, doubt, and utter disdain.

But you will also experience hope, joy, and love. And we all know it's better to have loved...maybe it depends on the object of your love.

Karrie fell for the charming man she met. She fell head over heals. She loved him dearly. Now she wonders what happened to their marriage. He isn't the same. Things are different. But she didn't even know the half of it!

Looking for answers, explanations, or someone to blame, Karrie turns to Tyler. Or Tyler's room. She vents, grieves, and bullies him. But then it becomes something more...

Fear, doubt, and trust in the wrong man caused Karrie a lot of pain. What happens if she tries again?

I loved the book. I was a wreck though. It tore me apart and made me a sloppy PMer on Facebook. Sniveling mess that I was venting my frustration, anger, and disgust one messaged rant at a time...Or three at a time. Find me when, not if, you need to vent. I will hold your hand.

From A Distance by L.M. Carr is my very first read from this author and she has taken me by surprise!

From A Distance is the story of Karrie Parker and her discovery of the lies covering her royal marriage to drag racing legend. I would really want to share more about the story's plot but I'm feeling like anything I say will spoil it for readers. I dove into this book blindly and I want you all to do the same. I want you to experience the same excitement and angst I felt while reading L.M. Carr's latest book and that's why I'm jumping to my review.

THE CHARACTERS

L.M. Carr made me love and hate her characters. I'm not saying who I loved and who I hated because again, that will ruin the greatness of this book. One thing I can assure you is these characters will etch themselves in your heart specially one of the guys. His strength and sacrifice will make you hug him and tell him that everything will be okay. Yes, guys. There are two male MCs in here.

I also adored the female MC. She's been through a lot of ugliness in her life but she never gave up on love. She's brave and affectionate-- definitely my kind of heroine.

THE PLOT

This is my very first L.M. Carr read and you know what? This author has taken me by surprise! This book started as angsty and puzzling. I felt hunger and sleepiness when I was reading this book but then the answers to my questions about Karrie, Alex, and Tyler is more important than anything else. It really consumed me and I regret nothing. NOTHING.

I was amazed by how painful and confusing this book started, but I was more amazed by the feeling this author gave me when she was little by little putting the puzzle pieces in the right places.

Author L.M. Carr's latest release is a story of betrayal, forgiveness, and sacrifice. If you're looking for an emotional and gripping read, I HIGHLY recommended reading FROM A DISTANCE.

I had seen someone recommend this book in a Facebook group and I immediately loved the sound of it - major angst and lots of twists and turns. Perfect!
Or so I thought...
The story was just a car crash... Karrie is married to Alex and she absolutely despises his best friend Tyler. HATES HIM!! The phrase “I hate Tyler Strong” is repeated multiple times over the first few chapters. Things happen (I’m not going to spoil it all) but then all of a sudden, she is declaring her love for him out of nowhere and they decide they want to be together. Admittedly, the husband, Alex is an utter DICK and I couldn’t stand him, but Karrie was so completely in love with him and hated him being anywhere near Tyler.
All the twists and turns were really obvious and I worked out what was going on very early on. It was just all so cliche and it felt like there was drama created just for dramas sake. (The whole heart transplant donor thing was just ridiculous!!)
I read the whole thing because really I had such high hopes for the story, but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me.

Loved karrie. She was able to forgive and see the other side and move on. Tyler pissed me off. He kept too many secrets from people he loved. Overall I thought the story was cute.

How does one write up a review of a book that they really felt down to their soul. LM Carr has reached into my soul and stolen a piece of me for ever with almost ever character she writes. From A Distance is just as brilliantly and epically written as The Giving Into You Series and the Casting Stones duet but there other level that Tyler Strong reaches. You fight for the hero who should get the girl and your heart breaks for the turmoil of the Distance that has to be travelled. You might lose faith in the happily ever after but it's like meeting your perfect match. These characters have a story to tell it's at times light and dark, gut wrenching and heartbreaking, sunshines and rainbows and it will pull you in and refuse to let go until the very last page. I started this book at 1am when I saw it pop up on my kindle and I finished at 630am because I could not put it down, no matter how many times I told myself just one more hour, just one more chapter, I was consumed!

Title: From a Distance
Author: LM Carr
Release Date: February 27, 2017
Standalone

I totally binge read and devoured From a Distance by LM Carr in almost one sitting. LM Carr spun a wicked web infused with lies, love, and heartfelt emotion. There were times that I wanted to drop kick my Kindle or hug the two main characters as I waited for story elements to present themselves. There were so many emotional and dramatic twists and turns that made this book utterly unputdownable. This was the first book I read by this author and will definitely not be my last. One-click worthy.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Karrie Parker thinks she has it all. Married to a motorcycle racing god Alex Parker after a whirlwind romance. A loving and supportive family. A great career as a nurse. And, she also has a beautiful home. Together they lived a life fit for royalty. However, when tragedy strikes leaving Karrie devastated, she is left to face the consequences of her husband's deepest darkest secrets. Karrie finds herself making life changing decisions while searching for the answers she so desperately wants.

Taylor Strong has only ever wanted to drag race motorcycles and win. Yet his best friends Alex has been keeping some major secrets that Taylor knows all about. As Alex's life begins to unravel, Taylor is put in a tailspin and to come face to face with the one woman he swore to always stay away from. The woman he refuses to speak to, the woman he avoids, the woman he watches.....from a distance. As the truth comes to light will destiny bring together unlikely souls together or tear them apart forever?

Holy cow I loved this book. From the first pages I was so hooked I did not want to put it down. I absolutely loved this story and it's one I will never ever forget. Karrie is a nurse who loves her job and her life with her drag racing husband. Their life seems perfect until it's not. Karrie is a super strong character. I don't see how she didn't dig a hole and not come back out of it. I know I would have wanted to. Her whole life as she knew it shatters in the blink of an eye. However it not only shatters it's blown wide open because Alex has got to be one of the most horrible husbands in the world. Travis is his best friend. But he is someone that Karrie hates. She has tried to be good to him. Reached out to try to be friends with her husbands best friend but Travis would have nothing to do with her ever. It doesn't help to that Alex painted a very vivid picture of the person Travis is in his eyes. However is he really describing Travis or himself. This you have to read to find out. There are so many things you don't see coming in this book. It's an emotional roller coaster. And it might just floor you when certain events take place. I love that you loved some of these characters. Loathed a few and wanted to see one in particular get slapped up the side of the head.

From A Distance is no doubt about soulmates. That one person your soul knows you have been searching for the second you connect. It's a beautifully written story that I am so glad I was able to get to read and review. It was my first read by L.M. Carr but it sure won't be my last. Oh and can I just say the cover to this book is absolutely amazing!!

Drama, drama everywhere

Wow. Talk about dramariffic train wrecks. Dead husband is a habitual cheater, his best friend loves the widow, there were identical bike bunny twins that the best friend and adulterous scumbag both banged, but it’s all okay in the end with little to no real resolution. Oh, and then we suddenly learn that the dead husband was a wife beater also. It was just TOO MANY tropes tied up in one not so fabulous book.

I don't know where to start... LM Carr had me in a heart rending and heart warming roller coaster ride throughout this overwhelming heart stopping story.

I lost two nights of sleep because I couldn't stop reading. I normally don't like the female characters in the books I read and love. But you can't help but love Karrie Parker. That's one of the reasons I love LM Carr's books, the characters a relatable as well as her stories.

Every emotions Karrie went through I felt, the anger, happiness, sorrow, joy, rage, desire, grief, empathy and drive.

I haven't detested and loathed a character as much I do Alex Parker in a long time. I literally became deranged reading about him.

Last but certainly not least Tyler Strong. He will definitely be added to your list of FAVORITE Book Boyfriend. I guarantee that you will fall in love with him. My heart broke for this man, as much as it did for Karrie, I cried most for Tyler.

I read books to escape and I avoid books that will make me cry, but From A Distance is absolutely and positively without doubt worth each tear I shed. Thank you LM Carr for this captivating story.

Stronger Than Ever

This story was absolutely beautiful. You will be devastated more than a couple times. You will not be able to put it down. A story about how everything happens for a reason, and finding your true happily ever after despite all the heartbreak that jumps in your path. I will be suggesting this book to all my friends!

I'm sitting here speechless, yet wanting to yell so many emotions about this book, these characters but I wouldn’t know how to start, or which direction to go without spoiling, but all I know is YOU MUST READ THIS AWESOME BOOK. I'm going to try a leave a decent review cause this book deserve it .
Kerri loves her husband Alex, more than anything, even if he is a few years older and he has BFF (Tyler) that she loathes, he is her world. Kerri knows that not ever married couple is perfect but in her eyes her and Alex were pretty damn close, til this drag racing with motorcycles happen and that's why she hates Tyler, but she knows the feeling is mutual. Tyler has Alex gone all the time and lately that's had her feeling lonely, all she wants is her husband back. One night changes all their lives, past, present and future. Can Kerri handle the truth about a man she only thought she knew and what her heart wants?. That's really all I can say. other than Tyler Strong is a great man. This characters are amazing and the emotions are raw and real. if I could I would rate more than 5. LM Carr you have done it again, this is why I've been a fan since your first book and will be forever.

From a Distance was heart wrenching and sob worthy. Have a glass of wine and a box of tissues at hand because trust me when I say, you are going to need them!!!

oh....my....god! this book was freaking unbelievable and full of twists that even i didn't see coming!

This book has made my Top Reads of 2017 list.

For fear of giving away spoilers or spoiler related content i'm not going to dive into the story line. One thing i would HIGHLY recommend though, go into this novel COMPLETELY blind. Don't read the synopsis or spoiler type reviews, you will get way more out of the book emotionally!

This is a first time read for me from L.M. Carr and i have to say, i will definitely be checking out more books from this author!

FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!

I'm not going to lie, From A Distance literally tore my heart out of my chest and i may or may not have had a few minor anxiety attacks to the point my boyfriend stole my kindle from me! This novel gutted me and looking back into my reading history, it's one of the angstiest novels i have ever read.

Karrie is so unbelievably strong for going through what she did and even through Tyler is portrayed as a good man in this novel, i felt 'a few seconds' of hatred for him. How in the hell could he stand back and watch her husband pull the shit he did and not say anything. but then the anger and hatred went away and i went back to loving Mr. Strong.

If your looking for an angsty novel or even an ugly cry novel From a Distance by L.M. Carr is a book i highly recommend in both categories!

Read and reviewed on behalf of I am a Book Hoarder

From a Distance by LM Carr is one of the most beautiful and touching stories I have read in a very long time; I am just in awe of this story. It is by far the best book I’ve read in 2017 and will be hard to beat.

I’ve taken my time writing this review because I am not only at a loss for words but I don’t know where to even begin.

I can tell you that I read this book in a very short period of time because I had to know the outcome. I ran the gamut of emotions while reading this story; I was angry, happy, sad… I felt everything that Tyler and Karrie felt! LM broke my heart and slowly patched it patched it up with her words.
This is my favorite of all of LM’s books! I fell in love with both of the main characters, Tyler and Karrie. Tyler is my favorite of all of LM’s men, there is just something about him… I can’t quite put my finger on it but he is special. Karrie is resilient, and amazing. She has this uncanny ability to look tragedy in the eye and just move on.

From a Distance is truly moving and beautiful. LM just has way with words, and here she was able to weave a heart breaking tale of love and loss and what it means to be strong.

This was such an emotional read be prepared to have a book hangover . From the blurb I kind of had a felling on were this was going but it also had more to it that was totally unexpected . My heart broke for not only the heroine and hero too . I won't be giving anything away because you really need to read this it was such a breath of fresh air nothing that I'v read before . The couple had amazing chemistry it was like they were meant for each other . It had me swooning at times , laughing at the banter that all the characters had , and close to tears to were my heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest . The characters were super lovable well the ones that you are meant to love and then there were the ones you really hated and you did not want them to get a HEA . This would be my first read from this author and now I need to get all of L.M. Carr books .

I have read all of Lm Carr books but this one is by far her best. I see so much growth in her writing she has poured her soul into this story. This book is full of sorrow and joy.

I felt every emotion karrie as endured with the a tragic events in her life she is found herself in denial, she unravels lies and deceit from someone she never would have excepted. she has hidden her own secrets. Karrie hasn't lived the picture perfect life everyone think she has, with each step Karrie also finds forgiveness she builds her life and realizes she can move forward.

Tyler is a man who is misunderstood. Everyone thinks he's a major player and jerk but that's not the case,Tyler has secrets of his own. With tragic events that were played out Tyler has to learn to overcome obstacles and rebuild his life.

Tyler has always wanted Karrie but he knew he should never have her instead he lived in the shadows. They both endured sorrow, but also find joy throughout their journey. every relationship goes through struggles highs and lows. always being tested but it's all about how strong your love and devotion is.

Lm Carr has delivered a realistic story that I devoured in one sitting it's a page turner. I'm not a big crier when reading but this book it gutted me but it put back together

What a story!!
The title is very fitting!
A unique, emotional and complex story where a moment in time changed the lives of Karrie, Alex and Tyler.
When a sudden tragedy strikes, Karrie discovers that she was living a life of secrets, lies and betrayals. The husband she loved wasn't who she thought he was, and the man she hated because of her husband's falsehoods, was really her champion.
The characters were likable and easy to relate to. They invoked emotions in me where I wanted to reach into my kindle and throttle them and kiss them at the same time as they struggled with their fight to forgive and move forward. There was an impressive message in this story, that out of tragedy you can triumph!
LM Carr has done it again in giving us a real page turner full of holy cheese doodles twists and turn moments!!
She dared to to go there! More importantly, she dared to approach a sensitive subject.
I just wished that subject was delved into more.
I didn't give this read 5 stars because of that, and because Tyler's character was inconsistent with some of his behavior described throughout the story.

First, I you have triggers of verbal or physical abuse be aware recounts can be harsh. First time reading this author that I can remember at least. Now, these are two people who come from behind and find their HEA, but wow does this author take you on a wild ride to get there. I have to say it will be worth it.

I did read some of the one & two stars like I always do to see what I am walking into. I have to say either they skimmed over the book and missed a lot of connecting parts or for sure some, they misread the items they chose to bring up.

Karrie was fifteen-years younger than her husband Alex Parker. When the book opens his alarm goes off and he is pulling away during a sexual act he is receiving from Karrie. Right away I am no way, homeboys getting some on the side. No man walks away from his woman during that. Karrie however is clueless, she was more fixated on the fact that he tell her his sidekick is on his way to pick him up and he needs a shower.

Tyler Strong is Karrie’s age and sexy as all get out but she hates him because one he steals her husband’s time from her every weekend with racing motorcycles for Alex Parker Racing. You see Alex owns a team and races himself that’s how they met. Second, he’s always watching her and leering at her. She tried to be his friend because he was her husband best friend but he still hates her. Once again he waits in the driveway, he won’t come in.

Months later after a major blow up between Karrie and Alex when he tells her he has a race the weekend of their fifth anniversary on his way back the unthinkable happens turning everything Karrie ever knew on its head.
Only one man had all the answers and they both hated each other’s guts. Her grief and her need for answers and then her anger makes it all possible to decide to get them.

Yet, through it all she was able to go crazy, be angry, purge, fight back, and triumph over a lot. Yet, her ex haunted her. Tyler in my opinion continued to stir that pot with Penny. It angered me how quickly she would forgive him for omissions not really lies but in a relationship where you came from mistrust it is hard to forget so quickly. Tyler was a repeat offender.

Other than that he was sexy as all get out. Love a man who’s not afraid to cry, love hard, and is hands on. I love that her family was there for her, and his too. Make sure you have tissues because there will be ugly tears but lots of laughter too. My kind of read. Free on Amazon. Follow us at

This book! Right from the start you know something has to happen. As a reader, I'm reading Kerrie's words and hearing her thoughts and yet I'm thinking to myself, "how does she not see this? How can see not know?" She's just living her life and everything is grand.... BAM!!! Everything falls apart. You knew something was coming but WOW!!!
Her world comes tumbling down. I feel for her.
Everything you think you know was a lie. Alex, not even going to waste my time with that D & D (it's from the book. You'll get it once you read it but it's funny.)
In comes Tyler. Poor Tyler. He just wants love and can't get it from the one person that he is meant to be with, until that night changes everything.
I was a little thrown by how fast Kerrie fell in love but when you know, you know!
Tyler is nothing but amazing! He's attentive and loving! He's written perfectly.

So I'm reading along and their story is just so happy and perfect... BAM! Everything falls apart. I shed a few tears because I couldn't imagine going through that and having to still be strong. I would have lost it! Tyler made me very upset in this chapter. I didn't understand his choices. Kerrie is a VERY forgiving woman!
Im at the end of the book and I'm thinking, "okay! That was bad and heartbreaking but they will pull through and get their happy ending." I'm continuing to read and BAM! Nope another thing coming out of nowhere. I couldn't believe it!

From all the rambling, I need you to know that this book is a different story than what I've read before. There's so many twist and turns. I thought I knew one thing but then something else would happen. This book was enjoyable to read! It took me by surprise because while I guessed some things, there were things I didn't even see coming!

From a Distance in the title refer to Tylor Strong loving his best friend’s wife.

Karrie has been married to Alex for 5 years, but all he wants to do is race Motorbikes with Tyler at weekends. Karrie is pissed at her husband for going racing on their wedding anniversary. So Karrie ends up working the night shift at the local Hospital as ER nurse. So she is on duty when car crash victims come.

Tyler and Alex are brought in, but Karrie is unaware and she get to work on one of the victims helping to keep him alive. Then Karrie when is called to another room and told her husband is dead she just goes to pieces.

Tyler is in a coma, and Karrie needs answers so goes in and sits in his room after work. Poor Tyler is in a coma for weeks but when he wakes up Karrie and Tyler have to work through plenty of misunderstandings. The biggest for Karrie is Tyler has feelings for her. This a heartfelt tale with plenty of drama, love and learning to live again is beautifully done. I read this one sitting I felt an emotional wreck.

I not saying another word there is so much packed into this tale of real life problems dealt with courage and love with for each other. I recommend this book to read if you like plenty to get your teeth into. So buy it yourself and get your teeth stuck in. Oh I did I say Tyler is Hot, Sexy and a knight on a shiny motorbike.

Title: From A Distance
Author: LM Carr

4 unexpected stars

Wow. You know when they say that when you're outside the box you're able to see so much more than when you're in it? LM Carr proves it more than once when it came to her latest novel From A Distance. I was floored by this novel that put things into perspective and proving how sometimes unwanted conversations can be helpful, even if we're not ready to hear the whole truth. Karrie was happily married to a man that she was madly in love with, only to go through a devastation when his secret is revealed. Following the events, Karrie is left bereft and having to decide what she needs and wants from life, bringing her face to face with Tyler, hoping that he has the answers that she desperately needs.

4 breath taking dreams

It was a touching story that made me think more than a few things through. It made my heart sing in the hopes that Karrie can find the love that she thought she had with her husband, and to find a man worthy of it. But most of all, it made my heart pound a little faster as things became more intense between Tyler and Karrie. I loved the way that LM Carr made her characters come to life and i can't wait to read more from her in the future.

This is the first book I have read by this author. It is a complete standalone, written in Karrie's POV. Karrie is a nurse that experiences a significant tragedy and bonds with the one person she least expects. I sort of felt like I read two different books, the beginning and the ending so different. The book started off a little chopping and was a bit slow for me in some parts. The writing was intriguing and grabbed my attention but I felt the the story was not really moving anywhere for a good portion. I was also very turned off by the ending, I just felt like it was a stretch, trying to make too much happen.

Talk about an emotional whirlwind. From a Distance is a book that touches you down to your soul. I am not sure how to write my review without spoilers. This book will definitely be on my top reads for 2017.

I devoured this book in almost one sitting. Words cannot do this book justice. Karrie is such a strong person. Karrie’s husband, Alex lies, cheats, and likes to keep Karrie under his thumb. I didn't see any escape for her. There were so many twists and turns that I never saw coming.

This is my first book by LM Carr and it will not be my last. If you are looking for an angsty, ugly cry, this is your book.

From a Distance was a book from an author I had never read before.

What would you do when you realized that the perfect life you have been living for years is not as perfect as you thought it was? Karrie is married to Alex, her love; but Alex has a secret that his best friend, Tyler, knows. Karrie hates Tyler for always taking her husband away from her.

Now the next question……What would you do if the only person who can lift you up is the one person you hate? And that is how the relationship between Karrie and Tyler forms.

I felt the dynamic of these three people was complex and thought building. I plan on reading more work from Ms. Carr.
