It was spring 1363, a cold morning. The fog was rolling in, Aiden looked closely but saw nothing. “Rylee, I don’t doubt that you saw something, but now it’s gone.” Aiden placed his hand on Rylee’s shoulder. Rylee pulled away. “I know what I saw, dammit, our father was here.” Rylee began to pace. “He had the arrow I shot him with.” Alistair walked over to where Rylee had pointed to where he had seen his father. With the hand on his sword, he was ready just in case Edward Hawke was waiting but Alistair saw no one. He searched the ground. “Aiden, you need to come see this.” So the men hurried over. “Look footprints in the mud.” Rylee caught sight of something lying in the bushes; it was a section of feathers from his arrow. “Look, this is from my arrow. You know these are my feathers.” Aiden walked over. “Alright, let’s go in before everyone gets worried, and no one says anything just yet of this, agreed.” The guys looked at Aiden and agreed. So the men re-entered the manor house.
OMG, did I cry. My mom read this book after I did and I can tell you she cried like a baby and man did i get pissed, I hate the slavers. Love the book, hope the next one comes out soon.
I love this book, beside who the author is, It it truly an amazing book, I hate Edward Hawke, would to kill that man myself. He is the villain that everyone loves to hate. This book had me choked up, I recommend you have a box of tissues handy when you read this one. Can't wait for the next book.
I love a good story that weeps you up in drama and mystery. This short tale did not disappoint. I would recommend this if you're looking for a get-away in time to a place filled with intrigue and suspense. Love her style of writing.
This is a continuation of the first book, Hidden Secrets: Returning Home. The story deepens as the characters move forward in their lives, Love, marriage, sex, kidnapping and murder. Some people you just love to hate.
