A new military romance series! 5 Books, No Cliffhangers, and Free with Kindle Unlimited.
NICK Nick Storelli’s childhood was far from ideal, but when things got too unbearable at home, he was taken in by his best friend, Logan’s family. The Summers were billionaires but yet they were the most down to earth people Nick had ever known. There was just one problem. Nick found himself drawn to Logan’s younger sister Mandy. There was that one night…the night that a seventeen-year-old Mandy, drunk and confused, offered herself to him. Turning her down was the hardest thing Nick ever had to do. Leaving his family and joining the Navy was the next hardest.
ACE Bigger than life and with a jagged scar running down his face however, Ace doesn’t have much luck with the ladies. He scares them away…at least most of them. Logan’s newly discovered sister Michaela seems to be able to look past his scars and somewhat scary presence and Ace finds himself falling hard for her. The problem is that Michaela has lost most of her memories and thanks to a recent kidnapping she’s struggling with PTSD as well.
SETH Seth Summers has always had the distinction of being the spoiled little prince of the Summers family. The only problem with that was that try as he may, Seth never really felt like he belonged. His brother and sister always had a tight bond that Seth could never seem to penetrate… Seth’s best friend Jordan was the only bright spot in what he felt like was an otherwise invisible existence in his house. He could always count on the Nanny’s cute daughter to be on his side, no matter what.
GEO Geovanni Ricci is a firefighter. That’s what he’s good at. It’s what he was made for. He’s also good looking, charming and covered in sexy tattoos. He’s never had to look at a woman twice to know that she wanted him, until he met the captain’s daughter. Karli has always wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a firefighter. She was born into a family where she was expected instead to be a debutante. Spending her life fighting to be on equal footing with the men that surrounded her has made her wary of trusting them. She avoids relationships especially with the men she works with, that is until she’s trapped in a burning building with Geo Ricci…
LOGAN Logan followed his father’s dreams instead of his own, but the only time he was truly happy was when he was in the air, flying one of the planes or helicopters that his family designed and built. Once his sister Mandy and his brother Seth take their places at the company, Logan is ready to stand up to his father and tell him he wants to start a Search and Rescue company…but then Bryce disappears and the first year of his new venture is spent on the search for his father, getting to know his new sister, finding out secrets about his brother…and discovering his mother and father both were not the people he’d always though they were.
This was a pretty good collection, but it would have been so much better had it been edited and proofread. Characters last names changed back and forth, i.e Nick Maggio or is Nick Storelli?! That wasn't as bad as the misspellings, weird sentence structure, and what I think was a formatting problem. I love the characters, Nick being my favorite, of course. Logan was a bit too alpha when it came to his sisters, but what's a big brother to do?! LOL! I'm not completely sold on Logan's younger brother Seth. I wanted to feel sorry for him, but his "I'm entitled, spoiled, jack@$$ screw-up" attitude grated on my nerves. He was jealous of everyone, he was a snob to people who didn't grow up the way he did, and he treated his siblings like crap--on purpose! No wonder they thought they couldn't trust him, and I didn't blame them one bit. When his secret is revealed, we, as readers are supposed to go "okay, that's why he's such an @$$," but I just wanted to smack him. Aside from Seth, this collection had a pretty good set of characters, interesting villains, suspenseful storylines, although I don't if I'd kept the father missing that long!
Of course the first story was the best but all the stories were entwined until the big finale at the end. I loved how even when it wasn't a particular couple, or persons 'story', there was their personal commentary, just to get their point of views in there so I got to know even more about that future character. It wasn't always about the main couple in the individual story. And I LOVED the issues they battled, like real solvable problems, not over dramatized Hollywood conspiracies. This did turn out to be a lil more feel goodie-ish than I usually like but still really good. Not over sexed either, one sex scene per story. ;)
I really enjoyed this one, it had so many characters but they all brought something to the story, the only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to some silly spelling mistakes and name changes, but other than that it was really good, full of suspense, happy endings, just what you need to keep you engrossed on a wet reading day, I will be reading more from this author, she makes you want to finish the book, the plot was intense in parts but again it was needed, a great read.
In spite of the grammatical errors I'm giving this series 3 stars. There was so many errors. There was even one passage where the company name was incorrect . The story line was interesting but I did skip some passages. I think it could have been condensed. One character's story could have been omitted as it added nothing to the central storyline. Not sure if I'll read anything else by this author because of the editing
I enjoyed reading this series despite the many confusing mistakes in it. Characters names change frequently (Ian/Paul, Geo's last name, etc) and some statements contradict others. This rating would have been much higher if it has been proofread and edited.
I chose this rating bc this series kept me interested thruout the whole book. Most of the characters were developed. Sitations were good. I enjoyed it.
This is a fairly good read all about the Summers family the common thread throughout is the missing father who has been kidnapped. The Summers are a billionaire family with lots of skeletons in the cupboard and as the secrets come out the family gets stronger and as each sibling finds their other half the family grows. The father is eventually found and life eventually settles down. This is an enjoyable read with lots happening and the mystery off the fathers disappearance adding an extra level.
I really enjoyed this book. Couldn't put it down until I found out what happened to Bryce. His family trying to find him and going through their own levels of hell. I would recommend Summers Security to any thrill lover.
What to say about this bundle. As I said in a progress update, it's tough being able to walk the line between romance and suspense giving each enough attention to make the story meaningful and keep the reader interested. Throughout the stories the author does better at it some times and not so much at others. By no means did it detract in what I found to be very enjoyable reading. Without giving away any of the storylines, my favorite story, surprisingly, was Seth. We get to see a very different side to him. He comes through shining and what a sweet love story. The most disappointing story was the story about Ace. Having to admit he came across as a 'wuss' breaks my heart. I really thought he'd be the bad-ass alpha male. Yeah, no.
So I said it was a very enjoyable read BUT there were a lot of spelling errors and consistency issues such as introducing Ian's character as 'Ian' then a page later referring to him as 'Paul', and then back to 'Ian'. Or the main character of a story referring to his 'fiancé', then 'wife', and then back to 'fiancé'. I don't know if the author had an editor or beta readers.....if so they need to be replaced. I was stuck on what to rate this series because I did really like it but the mistakes were so glaring. I 'rounded up'. I'm in a good mood today. 😉
