“Go to college,” they said. “Get a good job,” they said. “It will be a piece of cake.” Well, whoever they are, they lied. Sure, college was a blast, but after college, not so much. The finding a job to go with my expensive education, that part was not so easy. At least not until I was offered a position at the new club in town.
Life is defined by the little moments that have the power to change it completely. I never thought getting a cup of coffee would change mine, but it did. She did. She’s one of those moments.

the hero was celibate and the heroine is not a virgin. But I didn't like the heroine she was too annoying. I wanted to hit her upside the head. The hero way too jealous and possessive don't get me wrong I love a growly possesive hero but to a point, this hero took the cake. It was way too ridiculous. Also very predictable!

I'm going to start this review by saying I devoured I Just Want You in half a day.
I'm also going to say, I think this is Kaylee’s best book yet!
I also must say that I absolutely LOVED IT.
I Just Want You is a sexy, steamy romance full of sweetness and swoon.
One thing Kaylee nails in all of her books are her hero's. Kaylee writes ALPHA so, so well. Alphas that know what they want, go after it and don't care who knows. Alphas that make their claim from the start and see it through. Alphas that are POSSESSIVE, PROTECTIVE and OBSESSIVE yet RESPECTFUL and LOVING. Kaylee nails all that and more. In I Just Want You, Kaylee’s hero Crew was sheer perfection.
Loved him! Crew’s relationship with Berklee was written brilliantly. I felt all of their simmering tension, heart pounding lust and then their intense, passionate love.
I love that this whole book wasn't littered with unnecessary drama and mainly focused on the relationship between Crew and Berklee. Even the latter part of the book and the issues the couple face, fit really well and were written in a great way that allowed the story to maintain its flow and beauty.
I Just Want You is CRAZY HOT. Utterly addictive, sweet and sexy! A MUST READ!

3.5 Stars
There were parts of this I really liked and others that didn't totally work for me.
Berklee and Crew were young, and I knew that going into the story. But at times, they were a little too young and naive. It was great that he inherited money, but some of the time Crew was portrayed as he had no idea what he was doing, and others he was capable enough to handle overseeing the construction and opening of a club.
There were snippets where they were adults, and capable, so I was able to mostly overlook the parts where they came across as people who had no idea what they were doing and were to young to know this...It also helped that you liked both of them. They were appealing, and fun, and came across as people you wouldn't mind spending time with.
I believed their chemistry. I believed they wanted to be with one another.
And then the young issue got in the way again, and theu didn't communicate. Although, to be honest, this is an annoyance of mine in a lot of books...the situation created out of a mere lack of communication and assumptions.
I do overall recommend this book, even though there were parts of it that did not totally work for me, the characters were compelling and I enjoyed watching them work out their relationship.
I had the privilege of BETA reading I Just Want You, and let me start by saying how SEXY Crew is! He's closed off, demanding, sexy, and Lord that dirty mouth of his. This book has a nice combination of sexy, swoon, and sweet. You can FEEL the passion, the drama, and the angst. I highly recommend this book!
A dominating, always in control, swoon worthy alpha-male meets a sweet, smart, and understanding woman that he never knew he needed.
One glance was all it took for these two to know they wanted each other, but can a boss/employee relationship work?
*fans self*
I Just Want You is by far Kaylee Ryan’s steamiest novel to date! The angsty slow burn between Crew and Berklee was additive and consuming! I simply could not put it down! Seriously, I only stopped for bathroom breaks and to eat. The drama was kept to a minimum, which I found refreshing and the secondary characters were the perfect addition to keep the story interesting.
Crew and Berklee were everything. Where he was domineering and controlling, she was understanding and gentle. Where his passion and knowledge lacked, she was there to pick up the slack. They were opposites in a way that made the other better. And their chemistry… Their chemistry was so hot the air crackled. One element that I always love in a Kaylee Ryan novel is how she creates these supremely sexy alpha-males that will only bend for their woman.
I laughed, gasped, teared up, and almost threw my kindle across the room but it was all worth it in the end. If you are looking for a quick romance that will leave you weak in the knees then this is the novel for you!!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
Sighhhhh..... I NEVER get tired of reading a Kaylee Ryan book and this one obviously didn't disappoint.
Crew met Berklee when she worked at the coffee shop close to the club he was preparing to open. He thought she was the most gorgeous woman he's ever met and vice versa for her. Little did he know that his best friend who also happens to be Berklee's friend hired her to administrate the bar.
They fought very hard trying to stay professional but it was helpless. Their attraction was electric and it developed from there. There was little drama and like typical Kaylee Ryan way it was all about the couple and not focused on their past partners which is refreshing to read. Crew was your typical alpha caveman which will have you oooohhh and ahhhh. And Berklee wasn't a pushover either. The secondary characters were funny and both parents were adorable.
One of the very few books I DNF. I didn't even make it half way. The basic framework of the story was too hard for me to swallow to even care about the H/h.
Being a business woman myself and the Director of Admin for my family business, everything about this made me twitch. The idea of a guy, who knows nothing about opening or running a bar, hiring his friend to run security who knows nothing about security (and they talk often about having no idea about most things) and then hiring someone straight out of school to manage it all who has zero experience or knowledge of that particular industry to get it off the ground was just too ridiculous for me to get past.
Berklee mentioned OFTEN that she loves her degree, just wants to use her degree, is so excited to finally use her degree. Which is business. Last I checked a bar is both business and hospitality. Hospitality is very different. They also brought up often that she couldn't get a job b/c she didn't have experience. "How do I get experience if no one will hire me?" That is a valid point. But just saying that over and over again doesn't make a person qualified to basically run a brand new business where the owner and other "exec" have no idea what is going on. Normally, one would get a entry level position in that field and be trained on the job. There was no one there to train her on anything, it was the blind leading the blind. Oh, and her only qualifications for basically running the place was she liked organizing and paperwork! I'd totally hire her to be an admin...but she'd have a supervisor who knew the business...and she could grow from there.
Now Crew. I liked Coffee Shop Crew. Club Titan Crew was someone I'd run screaming from. All growly and snappish and "I'm going to get jealous and make you worry about getting fired every time you talk to the guy who hired you and you've practically grown up with." Gross. Also, Club Titan. Now, I am a firm believer that if you are business savvy and hard working, you don't need a college education to succeed in business. One of our best execs, who has been with us for 25 yrs, only has a high school education. So that is a non-issue. But this is how Club Titan was born: -young guy living paycheck to paycheck doing...we aren't told what. -he comes into money and wants to "invest it into something that will keep making money. (So far, so good) -he decides to open a club when he has no real knowledge of how they work and instead of hiring execs currently in the industry to run it for him, he hires friends and friends of friends with zero knowledge of the industry, or even their positions, to run it for him. At least Berkley had theoretical college experience and an internship under her belt. Although we don't know what the internship was for or for how long.
I know this "review" is looong, but as all of the above was basically all that happens in the first 40+% of the book, I couldn't get passed the ridiculousness of it. And I'm someone who can read supernatural/paranormal/fantasy and enjoy it. The world that is built has to make sense. And this one didn't. I ended up deleting the book at the point of the first kiss without finishing the make-out scene b/c I just didn't care about them. And I like my romance so this is saying something. ;)
Maybe the second half got better. I just didn't care. And I am clearly the minority here. So if the above doesn't bother you (and for most it won't) then have at it. I hope you enjoy it.
This was another great read by Kaylee Ryan. A couple things that kept it from being 5 stars is that it was a bit slow in the beginning. There just wasn't much happening. The other is that I felt like Crew was constantly pouring his heart out to Berklee and while we as readers know she felt the same, she still always kept him at arms length and tried to keep distance between them. I just didn't really understand where it was coming from. I really liked Berklee but Crew made this story for me. He is OTT possessive which I love in my heroes. I'm hoping we get books for some of the secondary characters as well.
4 küsür puanı nasıl aldı? Merak ediyorum. There was not a distinguishing feature. Emotions were not enough for me.
*Read more of my reviews at Whoo Gives A Hoot* I'm going to start by saying that I devoured this book in only a few short hours. I've been a fan of Kaylee Ryan's for quite some time and this story blew beyond every expectation I had going into it. This amazingly sensational read is told in alternating POVs and I adored every moment of this story! The fact that we got the chance to see both sides of the story from both of the main characters was perhaps the best part of the whole book since you don't have to spend time second guessing what the other one is thinking because you get to read it firsthand.
Kaylee Ryan has an absolutely extraordinary way with words and she knows how to capture a readers attention after only a few pages. This story was beautiful, intensive, steamy and a sexy read. The main characters, Crew and Berklee (oh how much I adore when authors use unique names) light a fire deep inside my heart and instantly captured my undivided attention. Oh how I loved, loved, loved this story and yet I'm lost for words because there is just so much I want to say but I can't let it out without giving the entire storyline away. So all I can really say is that this book will put you in a trance and you will not, I repeat you will not be able to put it down, which means that I advise you to clear your schedule for an entire day so that you can really embrace Crew and Berklee's undeniable romance!
Title: I Just Want You Author: Kaylee Ryan Genre: Contemporary Romance Rating: 4/5
This was a sweet, sexy romance with a healthy dose of steam that certainly had me hot under the collar. The storyline just flowed along effortlessly the author's style of writing was right up my street I prefer the books I read to be written where there's dual point of view nothing beats hearing a his and hers version of events.
The heroine Berklee was a strong feisty young women just looking to catch a break when she meets the man of her dreams whilst serving him in the coffee shop where she works, I liked how she wasn't portrayed as this weak whiny woman. As for the hero Crew holy hotness he was just the perfect man he was an obsessive, protective alpha-male all whilst being respectful, caring and loving at the same time. I love it when two people try to resist the inevitable and we then get to see them falling head over heels which is exactly what happens here, there was no unnecessary drama like I said it all just flowed along nicely.
The main characters were great as were the secondary characters it would be interesting to see them get their own books. This was the first book I'd read by this particular author but I can say for sure it won't be my last I'll definitely be checking out her other stuff.
Yet another book that I just couldn't put down! I absolutely love being a part of Kaylee Ryan's world. Her books always leave me with the right amount of angst with a whole lot of HEAs to help keep me giddy.
Crew and Berklee will have you fanning yourself. Their story is a little bit of taboo mixed with a whole lot of romance. So so good!
Berklee is working at a coffee shop, looking for a job that no one will give her because she doesn't have enough experience. What good is a fancy expensive diploma if you can't use it. At least her days aren't too bad, when the gorgeous new guy starts coming in for a little flirting and large black coffee.
Crew needs to be concentrating on his new club, not the cute redhead at the coffee shop each morning. He has so much to do to get this club up and running in under a month. So he leaves his best friend to hiring a staff and what they really need is an manager to take care of all the paperwork and staff once they are hired.
So when Crew walks in on Monday morning and finds Berklee - the gorgeous girl from the coffee shop as his new office manager. He is so screwed! The chemistry between these two is nuclear! How will either of them be able to stay away from each other?
Hot, steamy, fun and flirty - I Just Want You has it all!
Another great one from Kaylee Ryan! I Just Want You was a consuming read. I started it one night after my kids went to bed and I didn’t put it down until I was finished. The story was 38 chapters long, plus an epilogue, but I found that the chapters were rather short so it’s still a quick read.
This workplace romance is hot! You can feel the fire burning between the main characters, Crew and Berklee, from the moment they meet. Crew is a hero that is sure to be added to many readers’ list of “book boyfriends.” He was sexy, strong, protective, devoted, caring and just the right amount of possessive. Ryan sure knows how to write her Alphas! Berklee is intelligent, sweet, sexy, stubborn and fiery- my kind of heroine! The two of them together made for a great pair of main characters.
I really enjoyed I Just Want You, and I’m looking forward to reading what Kaylee Ryan puts out next. If you’re on the lookout for a hot romance with a strong, alpha male lead- this one’s for you!
I don't understand how this book has such great reviews. The first few chapters had me intrigued but after that I was left dumbfounded. I almost dumped it on the DNF shelf but since most of the book was dialogue between characters, I skimmed through till the end. I was hoping for something more substantial but it never happened.
I liked Berklee at first. But then I didn't. I couldn't stand Crew - the jealousy was over the top and unbelievable . I seriously wanted to slap him several times because he's a moron... the fact that his best friend just let's him act like that is beyond me. I would never let someone lash out at me bc some other person innocently touched their significant other. Stupid.
This was my first book by this author and it's also most definitely my last.
Crew just inherited a bit of money and decides to open a bar/club but having no idea what he's doing or how to run it he's decides he needs an administrator.
Berklee having recently graduated from college with a business degree finds herself in limbo looking for a job to no avail, currently working in a coffee shop she meets a man who sets her heart thumping.
I liked this book but found it a little slow to start and it did take me a while to get into it and was a bit bored to start with to be honest. Crew is so closed off and a total Alpha I didn't know how I felt about him but he did eventually grow on me and Berklee she was pretty cool but I found her a tad lacking and couldn't really connect with her but I think it was more me than the book. Together they were cute and sweet.
Overall it was a sweet read a solid 3⭐️ for me !!!!
I Just Want You deserves all the stars in the galaxy! I was completely consumed. I started reading this novel at three in the morning…horrible mistake on my part…I could not put this book down! Chalk this up to another sleepless night. but it was well worth it!
Let me tell you a few reasons why I loved ‘I Just Want You’ so much.
The Main Characters:
I Just Want You is told in two point of views.
CREW & BERKLEE (Let’s face it, Kaylee Ryan is the best when it comes to picking out unique names!!)
OH MY LORD..Ladies be prepared for some alpha hotness! Crew is the complete Alpha Male! Protective & Possessive (but not in a way that is a complete turnoff) Crew is a bad ass with a heart of gold. Also hold on to your hearts ladies because this man…LOVES HIS MAMA! A man who loves his mama is a man worth keeping around and Berklee may just be my favorite female protagonist in the romance genre. I loved how soft her heart was but she also had fire and a stubborn streak. She is a very passionate person who is also afraid of putting her heart out their and getting it shattered. It is easy to relate to Berklee.
The Story:
IJWU starts off with Crew inheriting money from a Grandmother that he had no clue even existed, he decides to invest that money in opening up his own night club. With help from his best friend Zane, they get to work, only realizing they don’t know much about the business world and find they could use the help of a business manager/administrator.
Berklee is fresh out of college with a degree that she wants to use but seems to be lacking experience to actually get hired. Now working at a coffee shop, her dull days start to turn around when a sexy mystery man walks in, a couple of days worth of flirting leads to an undeniable attraction! That is until her best friends cousin comes to her and offers her an interview for an administrators position at the night club his friend is opening.
After facing the fact that Crew, none other than Berklee’s mystery coffee shop man, is now her boss the attraction between the two is too strong to ignore so Berklee comes up with a friends with benefits that stays strictly between the two of them. Crew has other plans but he is willing to do this Berklee’s way. He’ll take what he can get if in the long run he gets to keep her!
Final Thoughts:
I love novels that have not only a strong family bond but also strong relationships and friendships. IJWU has all of that and more. I loved the friendships. Crew and Zane were a kick ass duo and Maggie & Berklee had a sisterhood like no other. But not only is this novel sweet with a down home feel, it’s also crazy hot! Crew is a naughty…naughty man!!!
I’m happy to say I Just Want You by Kaylee Ryan is on my favorites list and I highly HIGHLY recommend it, that is If you’re looking for a sweet & sexy read with a crazy hot alpha male!
Life is a series of changes, some are amazing, some are scary but no matter what they are change will effect your life. This is exactly what happens to Breklee and Crew. Who knew that a large black cup of coffee would lead you to your happiness. Crew is tall, dark, handsome and extremely rich. The man has a huge dream and after a year said dream is coming true. Breklee is beautiful. She has beautiful blue eyes and auburn curly hair. It's insta attraction. Her best friend refers to Crew as Sex on legs. Crew is everything that Breeklee wants in a man and Crew simply wants her. The best part is that Crew's best friend Zane is cousins Breklee's best friend Like all of Kaylee's books this one is another winner. This was a fast read, really fun and I wish I could give it more then 5 stars
If you have read any of Kaylee Ryan’s books you may see a patterned of familiarity with her male characters. Majority of her men are jealous, possessive, and domineering. Now I am not talking Christian Grey type of domineering, more just wants to make sure they wear the pants in the relationship kind of guy. Now, I will say not all her male characters are like that; however, Crew falls perfectly into this category. In Kaylee Ryan’s debut novel Anywhere With You (which is one of my favorites) her male protagonist, Liam, has many similarities to Crew. Berklee and Crew are both in their early to mid-twenties. In the prologue of the story we find out that Crew was given an inheritance from a grandmother that he didn’t even know. A large inheritances. I mean in the millions. He took that money, paid things off, bought stuff for his folks, invested a chunk, and decided to start a business. He wanted to be able to create something that would make him money and be a smart investment. The story then begins to unfold with alternating POV’s between Berklee and Crew.
Berklee is a college graduate with her degree in Business Administration. She is stuck working at the local coffee house because everywhere she applies to work will not hire her due to her lack of experience. She feels stuck in her situation. SO when the opportunity arises to work for the new club that will be opening down the street from her current job she jumps on that chance.
Neither Berklee nor Crew knew that their first few meetings would constitute in them working with each other. Crew just thought of Berklee was the sexy barista at the coffee shop he just randomly stopped by at. The girl he couldn’t get out of his mind or fantasies. Berklee knew that Mr. Super Sexy Beard guy that came in for a black coffee biggest cup she’s got, was having her count the minutes till she saw him again. Whether it be in real life or in her dreams.
By some random coincidence these two end up working with each other. Berklee becomes his manager of the club and working within such close proximity of her, keeps him on high alert to ever touch, every bump, and every caress. He tries to with stand the strong attraction he has towards her, but the more he fights it the more his desire for her bubbles beneath the surface. Eventually they both just explode towards one another like a volcano. It is hot, and heated, and O’ so satisfying. However, Berklee wants the relationship to be kept on the down low. She is convinced Crew will become tired of her and move on. She tries to keep her heart out of their physical relationship, but Crew makes it extremely difficult.
These two have intense chemistry that you can feel through the pages. It reminds me in many ways of Anywhere With You. The difference is these two characters are older and mature. The book also takes the steamy up a notch. They are not new to relationships or intimacy. These two are experienced adults and know exactly the type of relationship they are having.
I like that there is a miscommunication in the plot lines with Crew and Berklee. It shows that Crew has trouble believing and trusting people. He believes the worst of situations and not allow for others to explain the circumstances. I just don’t understand why he didn’t trust people? I don’t think that is explained enough of why? He is an only child and had a great life. They don’t go into great detail with the story, it kind of bugs me.
Anything thing that stood out to me (not sure if anyone else noticed). The time line seemed off at times. They say things are happening in a few weeks, but then they say that they have been doing stuff for a month or more together. I guess I need to go back through it to truly get the time frame of their relationship down.
Over all, Crew is your Alpha Male with sexy scruff and tattoos. Once Crew sets his mind towards something or someone he goes for it. Berklee is ambitious and goal orientated. She is an organizational freak and thrives on it. They are evenly matched. Berklee doesn’t let Crew walk all over her. She pushes his buttons and stands her ground. She realizes that some battles are not worth fighting (which happens in all relationships).
The story is a standalone and has alternating POV’s from bother characters. They are evening distributed through the story.
3.5 Not my favorite story of Kaylee’s. I like Crew and Berklee, I just think there was not enough character development to understand why they would just jump into a ‘friends-with-benefits’ type of relationship, when they weren’t really friends as it was.
Enjoy the read.
Just because Crew isn’t my kind of alpha man, doesn’t mean he couldn’t be yours.
I can always count on Kaylee Ryan for something light-hearted, sexy, fun and flirty. This tale of a somewhat taboo attraction, boss and employee, is all that but somehow didn’t leave the impression I anticipated. Nevertheless, this was a swoony, sexy way to pass the afternoon leaving me with sweet, warm-fuzzies.
“Life is full of defining moments, ones that can bring a man to his knees and tears to his eyes.”
Opening his club has been Crew Ledger’s sole focus for months. Knee deep in business decisions and preparations he knows he’s out of his depth. He needs an administrator/manager – stat. When the last person he expects to see is hired just for that position he’s got a whole new set of decisions to make – chiefly how to deal with the burning attraction she inspires in him.
“My world just tilted on its axis, and I have no idea if it will ever be right again.”
Berklee Hanson’s at her wits end. The daily grid of schlepping coffee while endlessly searching for a job to put her newly minted degree to work isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Luckily a chance interview lands her a dream job. There’s just one teeny tiny catch. Her new boss is the incredibly handsome hottie that she’s crushed on for weeks at the same coffee shop she just quit. She’s got a burning attraction that won’t be denied – even if she knows she has to draw the line at being an employee. Only an employee.
“I know I’ll regret it if I never know what it feels like to be with him.”
Oh man, I loved watching Crew and Berklee banter back and forth trying to deny their ever growing steamy attraction. Crew’s alpha male, growly, possessive streak up against Berklee’s sassy, stubborn independence had me grinning throughout the story. I always love that Ms. Ryan’s men are so well portrayed. Caring, good-hearted with the alpha tendencies that I love; Crew checks all the boxes. I had a few moments of disconnect with Berklee. I didn’t always understand her motivations or internal back and forth. The cheeky repartee from family and friends was so enjoyable and balanced the two very well. There’s a miscommunication device used that frustrated me a bit. It felt forced and not terribly organic; it’s a theme I’m not often fond of. That being said, the epilogue as always was a super sweet swoonfest and ended the tale in a magical place where our secret fairytale like moments come to fruition (it’s my favorite part of Ms. Ryan’s stories) and left me grinning ear to ear.
“Nothing and no one can change my mind on this. I want you, and we are happening.”
If you’re looking for a light-hearted, fun treat then look no further. Although I Just Want You is not a top favorite of mine, it’s sassy and sexy rolled into a tale that’ll leave you feeling swoony and entertained.
“Every minute of my forever I want you.”
K’s Category: Serial Dater – I’ve read every novel/novella released to date. Characters: M/F Sex: Yes, descriptive. OW/OM: No HEA: Yes Standalone: Yes
I have no words to describe this book-It literally left me breathless and loving every word I had just read. I didn't want the book to end...this was such a fantastic story .Kaylee Ryan never disappoints me and she ALWAYS writes touching romance novels and " I Just Want You" is no different.
This is a story of a man who didn't expect to run into his destiny in a woman who became his everything. Crew Ledger came into an inheritance from a grandmother he didn't know and he decided it was time to open this club he had always dreamed about opening. He hired on his best friend to help run the club but he still needs someone to help with the business part of things and he is out of his league when it comes to this...He needs an administrator/manager – like yesterday. The last person he expected to see hired just for that is Berklee, who works at the coffee shop where he gets his coffee. Turns out they have some friends in common which is how she ends up getting the position. Berklee Hanson is about had it- she needs a good paying job .The daily coffee shop gig is getting to her, she just graduated college yet nothing job wise in her field has opened up where she can put her new degree to use.. Yet a lucky break lands her the job of her dreams with a handsome boss who happens to be the sexy guy from the coffee shop...whats a girl to do?
The chemistry alone is apparent from the first scenes between these two and it kept building. I loved reading their banter, their sexual flirtations and just how possessive Crew was toward Berklee even when he tried to deny it. Their attraction is burning and soon it becomes a fanning flame that will just burst. Crew is an alpha male and he is possessive. Berklee is oh so sassy and independent yet she is super sweet and kind. When these two get together, watch out .The words they exchange , the looks and the sexual chemistry is off the hook awesome.
I loved their story and how when you least expect it, you can find the man/woman of your dreams.
My rating: 4.8 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
I Just Want You is a stand alone romance that will pull at your heart. This is a story of two young people that are finding their way in the world.
Crew just found out that he had a grandmother and she left him a lot of money. He wants to make sure that he builds his future. He has a loyal friend in Zane who also keeps him from getting too serious.
Berklee has just finished college and just needs someone to give her a chance. She has a business degree but, just like many new graduates find out, every job she applies for they want experience. So she is working at a coffee shop until she finds that place that will give her a chance. Berklee has some great friends that help her through everything. They also help keep the story light and fun.
When Crew walks into the coffee shop where Berklee works there is an instant attraction, but he has made a promise to himself that he is going to get his bar up and going before he will consider women again. But fate has aligned against him and has put Berklee right in his path.
I really thought that I Just Want You was an interesting, intense at times and fun. It had an interesting interruption on a modern relationship. I fell for Crew the moment he offered a job to his best friend. That to me showed what kind of man he was. But I also loved the way he wasn’t perfect. He was jealous and he didn’t always know how to deal with his feelings. Berklee really helped him get to the next level of adulthood. She also helped him realize what he had to lose. Kaylee Ryan wrote an effective view of professional and personal relationships that had me rooting for Crew and Berklee.
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Kaylee Ryan is a new author to me and I have got to say I’m so very sorry that I haven’t read her books prior to this!! I Just Want You is a wonderful story!
Berklee and Crew. Crew and Berklee. Anyway you say it, it is just right! These two are an amazing couple. Berklee recently graduated from college and just cannot catch a break. She is looking for a job with her degree in Business administration but most places want experience. How can you have experience when no one will hire you? So instead, Berklee works at a local coffee shop until she can get her dream job.
Crew was living paycheck to paycheck working construction until he came into some money. Ten million dollars’ worth. But now things are going to change with the opening of his new club, Club Titan. With his best friend, Zane on board things are finally looking up.
Crew would stop in to see the beautiful woman with the long red hair working at the coffee shop almost daily but never pursued anything more. Until one day he goes in to find she has accepted another job and that in two weeks he will never see her again. To say Crew was disappointed is one thing…until his 4:00 meeting with his new business manager for Club Titan walks through the door…and his destiny is changed forever.
I must say, Crew is one of the most amazing men I have ever read. Alpha male who is completely and utterly devoted to his woman and wants to shout it from the rooftops? Yes, please! Berklee was an amazing woman, I like that she knew what she wanted. It was funny how they knew each other’s friends but their paths had never crossed. Friends knew cousins knew brothers who knew parents, etc. At some point, their paths should have crossed but fate had made the decision for them. The ONLY thing I did not like was how this relationship needed to be a secret from everyone. Hell, with a man like that you need to be telling everyone about him Berklee!!
I enjoyed all the talk of family and all the outings with friends. Some authors go over the top and drag unnecessary characters into the story, but this all fit just right. There were definitely some moments that made me hold my breath and question how it would all work out in the end. It did and I’m glad I took the opportunity to read a new to me author. I read this entire book in one afternoon and loved it. Congrats Kaylee Ryan, you have a new fan.
Quick, easy to read, low drama story between a club owner and his newly hired manager.
I liked the storyline- and I loved the friends and family of both characters.
Crew was a hotheaded, jealous, possessive man- who was too quick to judge. Which was his down fall for a little bit of drama towards the end. Though- he possesses these qualities and shows them frequently through out the book.
And then there’s Berklee, with her a horrible plan she came up with, which was doomed to fail as well. It also was out of character for her- and I wish she hadn’t come up with the horrible idea. Otherwise- she was a pretty solid female lead and I liked that she was able to say NO to Crew and her body didn’t betray her brain constantly, unless she really was planning for it to happen. She knew her boundaries and stood her grounds with him.
My only regrets: for the main drama to be dragged out more- which we didn’t get to see much of what was there- just one stupid event that made Crew be a major a idiot, which made the whole thing unbelievable, to me. There should have been more signs and issues from this one source. And the other regret- the ending happens too fast, and everything is fixed ASAP. It was just all too rushed and felt thrown together to add extra issues to wrap it right up.
