Darryl Strawberry was one of the first players I watched as often as I could. This biography confirms what I suspected and what I was afraid of: He freely admits that he was an addict and an abuser. He was clearly weak in character and no amount of success he had with sports is worth our adoration.

This audiobook version is further off-putting because the text is delivered Uzi machine gun style by a brusk New Yorker. Not even close to the accent you want to hear Strawberry's story from.

Dodgers should've never signed Eric Davis.
