Her Best Friend's Dad

Rate this book
I'm falling for my best friend's dad.
Moving back home was never my plan. Except here I am, struggling under my evil step-mom's crushing thumb while I look for work. I feel just like Cinderella, but I never expected my best friend's DAD to be my prince.
He's just as hot now as he was when I was a teen; maybe hotter. He's also rich and powerful, and when he offers me a job working under him at his company... I can't say no. I don't WANT to say no.
All our flirting is bad enough--we can't get caught, my best friend would hate me--but then we go too far.
Hiding our relationship was one thing...
How the hell do I hide a baby?

Penny Wylder's first full length novel! It's all the fun and filth you expect, just a lot more of it! This story has a romantic core and a happily ever after that will make you melt.

Penny Wylder promised us a full length novella and she delivered. This was much longer than what we usually see from this author. I loved how much more in depth into the relationship she gave us, not only between Beck and Lia, but also the other characters in the story. I hope this will be a new trend. Who doesn't want more???

The older man/younger woman trope is my favorite bit of taboo. I just have a thing for the older, more sophisticated man and Beck was pretty delicious. I do wish he was a bit more dominant just because that's my personal tastes. I was glad to see he didn't push Lia away like you normally see in this type of story. Once he decided on her, there was no other decision for him.

Lia is the typical young woman lusting after the older man. She wasn't immature but made decision like a younger woman would. She was loyal to her best friend Tasha that made her more hesitant to pursue Beck but thankfully she didn't push away too much.

We have some OW drama in the form of Lia's step mom and I wanted to crush her with my foot! Lia was way too nice to her, but she loved her dad and wanted him to be happy, so ok I get it. Her step mom worked for Beck and despite being married to Lia's dad, she was trying to get into Becks pants as well. She's your typical evil woman persona that thought everyone should kiss the ground she walked on.

Overall, I really enjoyed this bit of taboo and loved that we got more depth with the length of the book. I really hope we will see this continue. ARC provided by author.

Lia moved back home after the economy dropped and had to close her gallery. She never wanted to move back home with her dad and stepmonster, but she had no choice. Seeing her best friend again was just a bonus, but seeing her best friends dad Beck was icing on the cake. Beck was her crush, she knew it was something she could never act upon but it did not stop the desire building within.

Beck can't stop thinking about Lia, he never looked at her in a sexual way before but she is an adult now and he is intrigued. When Lia makes her feelings known Beck reacts and he is not willing to give her up. How to navigate a relationship when you are hiding it is difficult, but Beck plans to make their relationship public and keep Lia closely by his side.

This was a fun one. I thought the characters were developed and liked Lia she was an independent woman who knew what she wanted. Beck was just dreamy, he was hesitant but knew he wanted Lia. Another great read by Penny Wylder.

You know I love me a taboo romance read - and the premise / synopsis for this book had me excited.

I started the book & was happy to learn that'll Lia wasn't a 'barely legal virgin', which makes it a nice change for the norm in this genre.

I love the way PWyld writes, and she not only writes filthy, smoking hot sex scenes in her other books, but her male leads are panty melting-thigh clenching alpha's. Yum.

So, for me, the recipe was all there - unfortunately the finished product this time just didn't quite hit the mark.

I enjoyed it, but I didn't OMG-love it.
Beck wasn't alpha enough for my tastes maybe? Not sure, he just didn't get me going like PWylds guys normally do.

Yes, the sex was hot... but it actually didn't feel dirty or filthy or most importantly, very taboo at all.

I see others have 5-Star loved it - which is fab - because at the end of the day, we book addicts all like different things.

Sexy short

Sexy short story of a girl who is attracted to her best friend's dad. She ends up getting a job as his secretary. Throw in a wicked step mom and we get a pretty interesting story.

I guess I wasn't feeling it. It was too easy. I think I wanted angsty and emotional, but what I got was...well, sex with an older man.

Which is what I wanted, but I also wanted my heart to hurt. I wanted to feel a struggle.

There was no struggle.

This was much easier than I anticipated and for that I didn't fully enjoy it.

If you want low angst, but with hot chemistry, then go ahead and grab this. It's not a bad story, it just wasn't for me.

This one was just OK.A quick read in mind before i opened this one and got really let-down somehow.
The author failed to put the chemistry to life in a way the author Alexa Riley does (i always love their short steamy stories) but Wylder here made it all wrong. The steamy-scenes were yeah...just that, nothing magical nor sexy at all.And the POV`s of the Hero and heroine were just so bland and boring-what i want to say:They had no character at all.

I usally like taboo-romances but this one was just NOT my cup of tea.

This was a sweet, low angst, instalove taboo story about Beck & Lia.

Due to a crash in the economy 22 year old Lia had to move back home with her dad and the step mom from hell Jean. Thankfully her best friend Tasha is close by and she uses her dads garage as a make shift studio. Lia loves working in there garage cause it means she gets to see Tasha's dad again, Beck, since it's been a few years. The second she sees him again she realizes he's still handsome as ever and cause if a small accident she ends up in Becks arms kissing. She's in heaven until she hears Tasha and remembers her promise when they were 16 to never sleep with Beck. Lia is intent on keeping that promise until she's becomes Becks new secretary and they can't hide how much they want each other.

I loved how much Lia loved Tasha!! She literally almost risked everything with Beck to protect Tasha and her secret when her evil step mom whose jealous of the attention she's getting from Beck blackmails her.

3ish stars!

Can I say that I have a thing for a silver fox's? Because damn! They're kinda hot! I could honestly stare at them for days. But aside from that this book was sexy as hell. Not as much smut as Alexa Riley if you were wondering but enough to keep you satisfied. I kind of surprisingly enjoyed the characters!

This isn't your typical creepy story of how a girl fell in love with her best friends father, an older man. I didn't know how I would feel about it but I decided to give it a try because I've come to love Penny Wylder stories so much. Ms. Wylder does an amazing job sharing stories that make you swoon, laugh and fall head over heels in love. I really loved this one, it was written beautifully and it is definitely a page turner I couldn't put down for even a second. If you want to read something different but sexy and fun at the same time, pick this up. 5 perfect and addictive stars!!!

Awesome Story ! Her Best Friends Dad by Penny Wylder is one forbidden taboo of a read and I loved it! This story had everything that I loved in the emotions-- hot, erotic, steamy, passionate, sweet and sexy.
Beck was one dominant alpha male and he didn’t let anything get in his way when it came to Lea . Lea is a struggling artist who is back home , living with her dad and his new wife. The new wife hates Lea so she makes every day she is in the home miserable. Now she does get to see her BFF Tasha which makes her being back home positive and the fact she gets to see her sexy and hot father, Beck, even better. She has had a crush on him for the longest but never let him know for fear of rejection and of hurting her friend. When she reconnects with Beck again, now she is barely legal, there is a connection, a spark. But it takes her crazy step mom Jean who gets her a job at Beck’s company where that spark fans into flames and they end up in a secret forbidden affair.
I loved how they kept their affair secret at first but it became harder to do, how the crazy step mom was trying all her crazy ways to do stupid things with Beck which never worked yet drove Lea nuts. Then the very sudden twists that took the story in a sort of different direction but definitely made me love it lots!! I loved this book because of the direction it took. Forbidden, hot , full of alpha and sweet. My kind of read

My rating: 4.7 stars ****

I received an ARC of Her Best Friends Dad by Penny Wylder in exchange for an honest review.

This book was amazing! I've always loved me some taboo stories and let me tell you, this book didn't disappoint. It was hot, passionate, sweet and sexy. Beck was the ultimate Alpha male and while I was reading this, all I could think about was, I wouldn't mind me some eye-candy like Beck during my teenage years.

Lea was a struggling artist who had to give up her gallery and move back home to her dad and her evil, crazy step-mother. On the positive side, she got to reunite with her best friend Tasha and her secret crush, Beck Huntsworth, Tasha's father. From the moment these two met, it was on. I mean, I literally drooled during the sex scenes . But it wasn't all a dreamy fairy tale, they had to hide their relationship from everyone and Lea was feeling sort of guilty for lying to her best friend. And on top of that, her evil, b*tch of a stepmom Jean, tried everything to sabotage Lea and Beck's relationship. But Beck, like the ultimate Alpha male he was did whatever it took to keep Lea safe from the hateful things brought upon her. He showed Lea during several of occasions his true feelings and how much he loved her.

HER BEST FRIEND’S DAD IS AN ADDICTIVE & SEXY READ WITH TONS OF ROMANCE WITH A LITTLE BIT OF NASTY THROWN IN! LOVED IT. 5 STARS

You know, I was second guessing myself after I purchased this book. I must admit had my doubts. I thought it was going to be like the same old story told hundreds of times. It’s been by experience that this type of story usually is pretty cut and dry. Girl has affair with her best friend’s father….. tons of sex…… best friend feels betrayed… blah blah blah. Some like that, some don’t. I’m a hopeless romantic so I’m one of those who must have a really good romance. I’m thrilled to say I absolutely L.O.V.E.D. T.H.I.S. B.O.O.K.!!!

I loved the hero, Beck and Heroine Lia. What a great couple. What I loved the most was they knew who and what they wanted….. each other…. It wasn’t a fly by night romance. It’s been brewing for years but they never told each other, given the age difference, so they went on with life in different directions.

Years later, fate steps in and brings Lia back home to live with her father and her step-mother Jean, who by the way, lives up to the stereotype. She’s a nasty, vile human being who has no problem putting down Lia at every turn. I just loved hating her. Good thing Lia is mature enough not to engage her. I however, wanted to bi__h slap the smugness right out of her.

Lia is an artist and is working in her best friends Tasha’s garage on her next project when Beck comes home from work to find her and his daughter there. Once left alone, things heat up unexpectedly between Lia and Beck and they finally give in to their attraction and, may I say WOW!!!!! The chemistry between them is off the charts blazing hot to say the least and here’s where their journey begins…

Is it an easy journey? Hell no, but no good love story ever is… Secret, lies, unexpected events for 3 couples and drama, drama and more drama with the step-mama make this an awesome, emotional ridden story of two people who against all odds, find a way to love and stand by each other, never letting their love falter, no matter who tries to stand in their way. Loved the ending. You will too. These two were just meant to be ❤

Thank you to author Penny Wylder for writing this story. I'm so glad you did.

3 Scandalous-Stars! ☆☆☆
-Spoilers-
This is about a girl who comes back home after trying to make it on her own and not succeeding. She develops a crush on her friend's dad, who then turns into her boss. Everything was going good until she got pregnant. I could maybe handle an accidental pregnancy but then at the same time her best friend gets knocked up. Holy hell. All of the sudden it turned into a pregnant circus act.

I wish the plot was written differently. I was confused on whether to give this book 2 or 3 star. I settled on 3 because it is written well and the first half was pretty good. And the hot scenes didn't hurt pump up my grading. I liked the build up of their flirting.

Beck. That is a hot name. Sounds english and hot. And from his description, he looks hot too! :) I loved it when he talked dirty and teased Lia, with his hands, his tongue, his c***... ;)

“You’re so wet.” Beck seems surprised. He withdraws his hand, holding it up between our faces. I watch him as his tongue licks his fingers clean. “So sweet.”

“Beck’s mouth moves to my ear, and he tugs my earlobe before whispering. “I’m going to make you come, Lia. I can feel your p#ssy throbbing around me.” I can feel it too. He’s hitting all the right spots on each thrust, and I can’t focus on where it feels the best.”

“F#ck that’s hot. If I were there, Lia, I’d kneel under my desk and lick your p#ssy. Would you like that?”

All in all, i liked it, i just wish nobody got pregnant. I find that to be a scapegoat plot twist almost all stories use lately.

I received this book as ARC.

Her Best Friend's Dad was a great read.

Lia and Tasha have been best friends forever. Lia made Tasha a promise that she would not have a sexual relationship with her father. Lia comes home after  a financial crisis, pretty much broke. She doesn't get along with her step mom so she goes over to Tasha's to work on an art project in her garage. After years away she's happy to have her best friend back. However she didn't count on Beck being super hot Adonis style. Making it hard to keep her promise.

Beck comes home early one day and sees Lia again and she's grown up into a stunning young woman. After a scorching hot Kiss between them and she runs away. He offers her a job. He can't shake this feeling about her, he needs her. After that kiss he wants more but needs to know how she feels. On her first day he asks her to stay and work overtime. They take a dinner break... Hmmm gotta read to finds out what happens next!

Storyline was fabulous
Characters well developed
Book had family, friendships, happiness, sadness, angst, blackmail, love and hot scenes. 5 star rating!!! Loved it

4 stars!

Outside of my favorite trope, second chance romances, I gotta say I’m really into the big age difference and forbidden love stories. Penny wylder seems to also be fond of this kind of romance because she certainly writes a lot of them!
This book is about Lia, a 22 year old woman who moves back home after her art gallery fails. She’s back in her hometown and hanging out once again with her bestie Tasha, and sees Tasha’s dad, who she used to have a massive crush on (and still does).
Beck always had an innapropriate crush on his daughters best friend but now Lia is back, and is a woman now. And things are gonna get sexy! Lol

He gets her a job at his office and like the blurb says, she gets pregnant (the oops-baby seems to be another trope Penny is fond of).
This book is hot AF, the sex is explosive and the chemistry is insane. There is some drama which keeps things interesting and a great epilogue.
Overall a great story!

Wow, Lia and Beck set my Kindle on fire in this smoking, smutty, racy read. Overflowing with drama and sexy scenes. Grab a cold drink and a comfy spot because once you start reading you'll find this book hard to put down. What's not to love about a little taboo older man younger woman romance. To juice it up a bit, the older man just happens to be her best friend's father. A wicked stepmother and an independent Lia and a dreamy Beck make for some page-turning times. Another great read from Penny.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

I enjoyed this one. It was a steamy hot taboo read and definitely what I needed after the previous book I read.

I loved Beck and Lia together. They had chemistry and I felt like they were definitely meant to be together.
A bit of drama and an evil stepmother and cranky best friend but over all a good read.

Short, sweet and totally HOT

Definitely adding this author to my favorites list

This was a hot and sexy little read that got me all kinds of flustered! I mean look at that cover!! Her Bestfriend's Dad is the first book I have read by Penny Wylder and I very much look forward to more from her. I usually steer away from novellas, but this is one story I just could not ignore. A charming and captivating read that had me wishing it didn't have to end.

3 stars may be pushing it

It was very juvenile. The characters were immature, there was no chemistry shown between them. You were told thy had chemistry but there wasn't any evidence of it.
The story was also silly and juvenile.

Disappointing and rushed

I love a good taboo with an off limit daddy, and the premises of the story was promising. Unfortunately, the execution left a LOT to be desired. The characters are under developed, the issue isn't even an issue. The villain isn't a villain, and the issue she caused are absolutely ridiculous. The pace leaves a lot unturned. Bottom line is, I didn't feel for or with the characters. I didn't connect with them and thus, it all just fell flat.

Hot and exciting.

Worth the read. Lia had dreams about her best friends Dad and finally they come true. She broke a promise to her best friend, but it all works out in the end.
