He’s willing to lose his honor to claim her, but first he must save her.
The Preor emperor bestowed honors on warrior Brukr sen Zak’lu centuries ago—honors he does not deserve. Since then, he has fought to prove himself worthy of the emperor’s support. He works to protect and care for the females within Preor Tower no matter how difficult they make his task. One female constantly disregards orders and makes his duty nearly impossible. Hannah—with her flowing hair, teasing smiles, and generous curves—torments him with what he cannot have. He aches for her like no other, his dragon rages when he leaves her side, but without the Knowing stretching between them he cannot claim her. Or can he?
Genetic modifications have changed Hannah’s appearance, but they can’t change her past. To atone, she steps into the spotlight as a spokesperson for Cole-Daven and moves into Preor Tower. Every day she struggles to convince other humans to accept Cole-Daven’s treatment for Pol Mutation. She also fights her attraction to one specific alien Preor. They’re not mates, but everything in her craves the large, muscular, deliciously tempting dragon shifting warrior.
With her exposure to the public, Hannah now has humans after her. Some want to possess her, others want to torture her, and many want to kill her. That is unacceptable to Brukr and he will tell them so… with his war blades.
Part of the "DRAGONS OF PREOR" series: Jarek Taulan Kozav Rendan Zadri Hatched Ivoth Brukr
Brukr is book eight in the Dragons of Preor series by Celia Kyle as Erin Tate.
Hannah isn’t what she seems. She’s part of the Cole-Daven project to help those with Pol Mutation, but she’s got a BIG secret. She has also been on the run for years.
Brukr is a gruff and tuff Preor male. He’s got an old scare across his throat that scares others off.
Right off the bat you can see their is an attraction; between Hannah and Brukr. You can feel their sexual tension and that desire to be together, but since their is no Knowing it feels like it’s not meant to be. I enjoyed Brukr and Hannah together. I will say I was a bit disappointed in Hannah’s lack of seeing that Eric wants her as his own. Who is Eric? He’s her handler, or so she thinks, but he’s keeping secrets too. Maybe it’s not as obvious noticing this thing, especially when you are always on the run or in-danger, but to me it was obvious that he wanted something from her.
Again the author keeps the Knowing away until the end. The couple first has to survive a plot to take Hannah away and Hannah has to accept who she is; before they can be together as mates.
It was great that the author returned to the Pol Mutation storyline; as it's such an important part as to why the Preor and their allies, the Ujal, are now on Earth. She also tapes into the dark human psyche, showcasing those fears of the unknown and showing why so many humans still hate or mistrust the alien races.
The best part for me was at the end, after Brukr claims Hannah as his own, when Lana and her family interrupt the after glow for them. That whole scene and conversation had me laughing along with the characters.
Brukr was another fun read in the Dragons of Preor series.
A welcome return to the fabulous world of the Preor and this time it's the turn of Brukr to experience just how much craziness a small human female can add to his life! Yet no matter how much Brukr feels the urge to protect Hannah he cannot deny that the 'knowing' hasn't happened. Hey that's not a problem though as Hannah is a victim of Pol Mutation and there's a very good chance that if she's cured all will be right in Brukr's little corner of the universe! Hannah isn't exactly what she seems though . She's had her appearance altered to escape her past and really doesn't need the spotlight shining on her. Yet what she's starting to feel for the annoying, up in her grill Brukr is something she can't deny. Still Hannah has placed her trust in her old handler Eric and perhaps it's time to leave with him again but oops someone forgot to tell Brukr that Hannah wasn't sticking around! We learn a little of Hannah's past and clearly it was pretty messed up but what's happening still is utter madness. There are those who would truly harm Hannah which is clearly unacceptable to the warrior that Brukr is. Now here's were the author excells as she injects so much humour into what could be extremely dark. Yes there's danger but we still see glimpses of the uber protective Preor as they are constantly struggling to understand women and yes they fail miserably. I'm really pleased the author has returned to the Pol Mutation storyline as it imparts so much as to why the Preor and indeed their allies the Ujal are now on Earth. Humans were contaminated and even now after the Ujal have 'cleaned' the waters on Earth there are still many who resent the aliens. Yes these stories are light, fun and sexy but the fact that the author taps into the dark human psyche and those nibbling fears of the unknown we all have adds depth . Ok I had fun reading this but I'm absolutely dying here for more about Liquid Knot, computer hacker extraordinaire and clearly a woman who lives to cause mischief . Unfortunately I fear that book might not happen soon but I will keenly watch out for the next in this series as they always make me smile. This voluntary opinion is of a copy that was provided for me and is my honest opinion
Have to say I am really enjoying this series. This was one of the best yet! While I do prefer the instant recognition of the mate, I get why that was not the case here. Brukr was so tortured. But he was pretty determined. I loved him! And I really liked that Hannah took a leap of faith with him. Looking forward to the next book!
There is everything to like about this hero. He is steadfast, respectful and protective.
The cause of his self esteem issues could have been revealed much earlier in the look so that we could see the hero work through them. As it is, they are just annoying angst.
I like the heroine as well until I find out her secret and reasoning for a set of things and then I am just annoyed as all get out. It would have been a much more intersting read if she just trusted the people she had every reason to trust and then the story could have been about dealing with her stuff.
There is a plot twist that is interesting but not enough to save the book for me.
There is just too much energy in the wrong places.
A great addition to the series. The connection between the hero and heroine in this one had a genuine feel to it. I look forward to more and appreciate this series being offered as kindleunlimited.
"Brukr" the next book in the Dragons of Preor is an absolute joy to read. You will just fall in love with him. The way he tries to understand the human language and put his own interpretation on words he is not familiar with is hilarious. Brukr saved the Emperor's life when he was just a trainee and he feels he did not deserve to be honoured as his first instinct was to run away when all the other more skilled warriors were killed. But he didn't and so saved his Emperor. No he feels unworthy of a mate, but fate has other ideas. He has feelings for Hannah one of the human females under the protection of the Preor, who has signed up with a few other women to Cole-Draven to find a cure for the Pol Mutation a disease which they all carry. Hannah is hiding a secret and it involves the government who appointed a handler named Eric for her over ten years ago. Both Hannah and Brukr will not have an easy time trying to find their happy ever after with outside forces determined that they never be together. Thank you to Celia Kyle/Erin Tate for the wonderful review copy. Love this series.
Wow! Brukr has survived the unthinkable, but does not see himself in a good light. Silly male, true courage means overcoming your fear not the absence of it. Just ask Hannah. That girl has her own courage in spades and still lives her life as full as she can. I love that the author created these two characters to be strong and yet unsure, they are the perfect compliment to each other, but isn’t that the truth of the knowing I’m looking forward to the next book, more babies!
A story with twists and turns about nothing. At some point it became ridiculous. Hannah made a huge mystery out of nothing and seriously there are no excuses for her behaviour except that she wanted to create a huge secret.Author constantly forgets on information she had previously given readers and contradicts it.For example,we were told in previous book that all Cole-Daven workers were extensively researched before offered a job and in this book it is proved when Penelope recites Hannahs background and heritage. However both Ella and Delaney are clueless. So,who the hell hired the women? Hannah is so full of herself that while she fears what curing PolMutation will do to her,she never bothers to ask healers if it actually will reverse gen mods or not. Also the situation with attacking crowd. She had enough time to convince Violet to go back inside-and it is a lengthy conversation, then watch her getting to safety and some more time before crowd reached her.Crowd she knew will attack and hurt, possibly kill, her. So I got to ask-how stupid you have to be to intentionally wait to be injured without trying to avoid it.
I loved the humor in this story and the Dragon thought patterns are hilarious. It was fairly dramatic, too. I just found Hannah's back-story to be incredulous and the mobs of people after her not believable. Even the reasons for this weren't clearly explained. Otherwise, good love story.
The story wasn't too bad. These guys need to invest in some really good locks on their doors. Also they need to lighten up a little bit and be a little easier on themselves.
Brukr and Hannah are another couple that are afraid without the Knowing that they can't be mates. Once Hannah has been treated with Pol Mutation the Knowing is there for both of them..
I'm back with the dragons! Yes! I like these guys. They're a little bloodthirsty and a lot protective and I dig that, man. I dig that.
Now, when I say they're protective, I don't just mean of their mates. Anyone they consider a friend of Preor gets the deluxe treatment. You know who's a friend? Hannah. The Knowing might not have popped up between her and Brukr, but he's more than the usual amount of protective when it comes to her. And she's into him. Or at least she would be if she didn't have to worry about certain secrets popping up and potentially ruining everything she's managed to accomplish recently.
Which, as you might have guessed, is exactly what happens. And her secrets? They're of the fairly large variety. Not that they ruin things, exactly, because once a friend of Preor, always a friend of Preor. But they do cause complications.
Complications of the fire breathing, will-fight-anything-in-his-path-to-protect-his-special-lady-friend variety. Good times.
Dragons, danger, and lots of planning to do damage to anything that gets between a dragon and his mate. I do enjoy these books.
This is book #8 of the Dragons of Preor book. It was good. The main character Hannah got on my nerves because this chick would not tell anybody what her issue was. She is one of the woman from Cole-Daven's that has Pol Mutation disease and is a representative for other humans to step forward and get rid of the mutation. Hannah still works as a waitress on the side and has a bodyguard in Brukr. This dragon is crazy in love with her though he denies it until her former government worker, Eric tries to take her way. All heck breaks loose and Hannah has to figure out what she wants to do be with Brukr or go off in hiding again with Eric. It was good and Brukr was funny. I liked it.
I love the Dragons of Preor and was excited to read Brukr's story. Each of the alien men are hot (what dragon wouldn't be?) smart, stubborn, sexy, loyal...okay, I'm rambling again. But everything I've said is true. Brukr knew his feelings, made his own decisions, and hoped against all odds for his happily ever after. A deadly combination when a man wants you and takes his devotion to that level. Hannah was a good match for Brukr. Her horrific background added the necessary layers to her personality. Some of her backstory was not explained as thoroughly as I'd like, but the loss didn't detract from the story as whole.
Another awesome entry into the Preorder series. Celia Kyle's personal brand of humor runs rampant throughout this book and you couldn't ask for anything better. I've never been able to decide which Preor is my favorite and I find myself in the same quandary. I adored Brukr in all his sexiness and unwillingness to back down from anyone. Hannah is endearing and gorgeous in mind and self. These two make an awesome couple who you can't help but root for from beginning to end. READ THIS BOOK! Read the whole series! You won't be disappointed.
I love this series! Hannah and Brukr are super characters. They and the supporting cast add so much depth to the Preor Dragon's living on Earth. They are strong, caring, protective and hopelessly lost when dealing with the human women they love. Their "off with their heads" solution to every slight, real or imagined, is reminiscent of siblings bickering...until it isn't. These dragons can be deadly when confronting an enemy. However, it's the humor in these books that puts a smile on my face and keeps me coming back for more.
You are going to love this book! Hannah and Brukr are fully unrepentant damaged individuals, but you will love them anyway. They are proud, stubborn and honorable to a fault. The story is packed with action and violence and a bad guy that you don't see coming. It is well written, very clean technically, and easy to read because the story just flows so smoothly. You are going to hate putting it down even to sleep. Don't miss your chance to read this fantastic story that will have you stuck on it until the very last sentence!
I like this series but it took me a minute to finish this book. I wish that maybe there had been a small prologue to give some backround in regards to Hannah and Eric as well as Brukr. I did like how in this story as well as Ivoth's that the Preors are starting to evolve. Meaning that they really liked the females regardless of The Knowing. Makes the stories sweeter in my opinion. Just wish these women would stop trying to "protect" these warriors, feels like it cheapens the story a little and becomes slightly formulaic.
I have enjoyed reading all the the books from Celia Kyle. She has a witty sense of humor and is a heartfelt romantic. The action series this story offered was compelling. I found myself actually hating Eric more throughout the story. Her alien heroes are strong characters. After meeting so many different characters, Kyle leaves the reader wondering who is next to find their fated mate.
Kindle unlimited purchase By Celia Kyle Brukr will do anything and everything to protect Hannah. Even claim her as his mate with out The Knowing. Hannah is in protective custody because ofher past. She has had genetic modifications to help her hide. But her past catches up with her. I enjoyed this book. Brukr stood by Hannah no matter what she went through.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series to date, and I'm looking forward to reading the books to come. I hope Kyle was hinting at a book for Liquid Knot. This character's snark and her giving "life" to the computer have intrigued my curiosity. If you enjoy chivalry, dragon men, sassy women, and adventurous romance these are your books. Enjoy!
What traits must one have to be a worthy mate? Honor, dedication, trust. Brukr doesn't feel worthy and he feels he continues to dishonor when he wants to claim a mate without the knowing. Another awesome book to add to the series. Action, adventure, and a saucy spaceship.
I have read all of the books by this author. I'm impatient for the next one and the next one. I love all of her books. So far I haven't been disappointed by any of them.
Despite being 8 books into the series, the stories are pleasingly varied and the characters wonderfully unique. The Pol mutation was a good device to delay the knowing from showing.
This will be the second read through of the series and I still couldn't out it down. Sure I remember the stories but it was just a fun read that it sucked me in, much like the first read through. On to the next one!
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest book in the Dragons of preor series. Well written sci-fi book. I am very much looking forward to more of this series.
Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.
This is the eighth story in the Dragons of Preor series and it is a spin-off of the Ujal series. I highly recommend these be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc. Plus the story timelines are consecutive, with them starting for the most part right after the end of the previous.
There are a few grammatical issues but nothing too egregious that would have required me to lower the rating. The story universe is very well developed, especially if all of the stories have been read from both series, and the characters still remain unique enough to keep the reader entertained.
In this story, Hannah is a human female that is hiding and working with an agent, Eric, that has been her handler for years. She is asked along with several other working class women with Pol mutation from different backgrounds to assist with the newly created company. The plan is to utilize the diverse group to make it easier to gain the public trust and distribute the cure for the Pol mutation.
Eric is worried they will find her if she continues to be a part of the company and rollout of the treatment; he is getting more aggressive. He wants her to relocate again, but she is tired of all of the moving, never getting to stay somewhere and try to make a home ... plus she doesn’t want to leave Brukr ... there is just something about him that makes him feature in all of her day and night fantasies.
Brukr has been attracted to Hannah since the moment he met her, but since they didn’t experience the Knowing he is not sure if she is his mate or not. After all she could be like another human who had the mutation and not receive the Knowing until after it was corrected. Regardless of everything though, he craves Hannah. Now he just has to get Eric to go away and quit trying to get his potential mate to leave him ...
Proceed with caution, I'm writing this review while incredibly annoyed after reading this garbage book... so much so that I might have to delete this review later.
OH. MY. GOD!
This book both frustrated and bored me to tears!
Me while reading this book:
The heroine has zero confidence to the point of being incredibly annoying. The misunderstandings between humans and Preor are not as funny as in other books of the same genre, they are actually ridiculous and make the Preor seem dumb. The romance was just not there, it was more of the author telling us they were in love than us reading it. The plot was.... what plot? I could tell the exact same story in less than half amount of pages. This whole book is just a mess...
I know, I know, I should try to pull myself together and mince my words.
Yeah, it didn't work, guess I'll just have to vent. Anyway...
Why am I so annoyed?
Because there was ONE SINGLE part of this book I wanted to get to. Well, probably anyone reading this book wants to get to it. But it's like the author knew that we'd stop reading the moment we got to it, so she wrote it towards the end of the book so we'd have to earn it by painstakingly going through each page of this shitshow... By the time I got there, I didn't even know why I wanted it in the first place.
I'll stop here, I hate that I wasted part of my Saturday on this.
