Medusa's Scream is a thrill-ride that hurtles a train through an out-of-service gold mine in the Fraser Valley. Chase can't believe his luck when he lands a summer job in the food truck outside the ride's entrance. But then he notices strange things happening at the old mine. Chase starts to piece things together, and soon his life is threatened by a villain even scarier than the snake-headed Medusa of myth.
Melanie Jackson wrote her first mystery story at age seven and hasn't stopped since. She isn't sure why she likes mysteries so much, except that maybe it's part of being curious about life and its possibilities. A former journalist, Melanie volunteers as a creative writing mentor for the Vancouver School Board. Born in Scotland, raised in Toronto, Melanie lives in East Vancouver, in the same Commercial Drive area as her singing sleuth Dinah, with her husband, daughter and cowardly cat.
Medusa's Scream was actually a good mystery! I didn't guess right away what the marmalade was all about, but it was interesting to continue reading the story and finally guess it. I liked the characters and the cat was cute. ;) I thought it was funny how the MC plugged his nose to try and not sneeze. LOL!
Chase loves to cook, especially savory pies. So when he gets a summer job working in a food truck, where he can sell his pies on the side, he's thrilled. But he soon realizes that all is not as it seems. Medusa's Scream was an entertaining story that I think fans of mysteries/suspense would enjoy.
